Just snagged this phone today on amazon for a whopping $21.74 can't be anymore excited to have it wednesday. I got it's predecessor for 100$ last year at this time of year and snagged it's successor for even less today. Talk about winning! So, what should i expect from this phone coming from the Optimus G. Sorry if this has been asked in either the Q and A section, or this one. But I was wondering, for the people that bought the EVO 3D off contract, for the full retail price, how much did you pay? Sprint/bestbuy said it was 679.99(sprint) (699.99 for bestbuy) for the time being, and would go down to 549 eventually. Wondering if anyone else enencountered this as well?

I still don't understand why somebody would pay full retail price of $549 plus tax for this phone. Open up a new line at $199, then just cancel your current line. Even at full ETF price thats $200 + 199 = $399 plus tax. If you've had service then your ETF gets prorated per month (for example in my case: I've had Sprint for 9 months, ETF is only $140 plus $199 for new contract = $339 plus tax.) Then just sell your old EVO or old Sprint phone to get more money to use towards the new EVO 3D. I've been doing this for years, also works at other carriers.
The only downside is you have to change your number but its worth it to save over $100.

Yes, sprint is still nice with a $200 ETF, Verizon & AT&T went up to a $350 ETF on smartphones.
Begin service with AT&T
get an Infuse 4g
after a few days, if you don't like it better than your 3vo (you won't), return it and cancel your AT&T service
Keep the MHL dongle that comes with the phone, the guy at Sams told me all that really matters to them is that the phone and charger are in there, never even noticed I had left out the MHL dongle
requires like 125 bucks laying around (Sams Club price), but at least you get it right back, only thing you pay for is a few days service
so you basicly scam and act like a stealing criminal. nice....
All this just to save $20? No thanks

I would just be thrilled to be able to find a Tmobile store in chicagoland that had them in stock!!!

I'm kinda torn on this.... Now I would never go sign up for At&t and get a phone just so I could return it and keep the MHL adaptor. BUT, I'm sure many of you have gotten a replacement device under warranty and kept the battery, battery door, or charger/usb cable whenever you returned the device. I know Sprint has told me to keep all the accessories and just ship the phone back, which I have done. If that was the case with the OP, then I dont see a problem. Now telling people to go sign a contract with AT&T just to keep a MHL adaptor is a different story though. Too much work and probably not even that much cheaper than just buying the adaptop after you pay for 3-4 days of service, figuring that the plan is $100 a month, divided by 30 days is around $3.33 a day, 3.33 x 4 is over $13... Just buy one for $20 and save the hassle and dishonesty... just my 2 cents...

I picked up my EVO 4G LTE on the 1st weekend it was out for $99 at a sprint store. I got a killer deal and some discounts and my old EVO was not even ready for a full upgrade at the time. Sold my old Evo on ebay for about $75 so I walked away with a steal.
Got to know how to shop and deal these days, I'm afraid.

TY, I am paying 6.99 for total coverage and deductible is $99
Either way it's better than paying retail.
You could end up with a new phone instead of a refurbished one just for the simple fact it's such a new phone and Asurion won't have a refurbished stock for insurance purposes yet.
I haven't looked into it on the galaxy s4 but I know how to replace a screen on iphone is only 30 or 40 dollars if you know what you're doing you may want to look into getting a new screen on eBay

Heh, I broke my old phone's power button at the end of my contract. I decided to get an S4 instead of pay half that as insurance deductible for much older phone. The next day, I walked in to the Verizon store and picked one up no prob. I had no idea the Verizon model had just come out. Derp. :silly: I guess supply depends on your area, but I would imagine some of the first shipments went to the insurance companies. Unlucky people like you

I use to have insurance then realized it wasn't worth it after 8 years of no issues. I guess it depends on what you do though. Doing construction and having kids it would be a different story LOL.

Very nice. Looks like I may have inadvertently helped make this possible for you. Mine had just got a cracked screen so I ordered my replacement Rezound last week from Asurion so it now looks like I got one of the last Rezounds available. At least they included a new battery, battery cover, and new 16gb sd card so I feel like I made out but a DNA would have been nicer. I missed out on this by just a week .:crying: Enjoy...

Well, it isn't all good. The development there isn't as advanced as it is here. Their Android 4.2's seem buggy. And the best Sense 5 rom is a port off the HTC One, not the Butterfly (same phone but japanese version) which had 4.2.2 and Sense 5 rolled out to it. I wish there was a plain old 4.3 out now.... Oh well. You know what they say. If you don't like it, change it. Time for me to start learning how to develop!
Maybe I should get my rezound replaced as I cracked my screen lol

Do it! They probably will give you a replacement Rezound. Try the flash on the camera. All the Asurion rebuilt Rezounds has like a reddish hue. Complain and they should try again. If it's the same problem then their policy says you get a new one, not a refurbished one. Hopefully they are still out of new ones and you get merry pickings on a new phone. Try and see if they will give you an iPhone 5. Sell on Ebay for full price and get a brand new/new phone *cough* HTC One
