Is there any way to remove the carrier name off of my status bar? I have looked through everything I can imagine but still cant find a way to do it. Thanks.

Yes, but there is a mod to change it, check over in themes and apps, you may find it there

U wanna replace status bar?! With wat? U can add any app or shortcuts to ur status bar. Try "notification toggle " from play store!
Ps. - of course I mean the app icon in status bar not the app itself!
