I request the developers to please develop a custom ROM for Celkon A97 or Celkon 97i
I like the Paranoid Android ROM. Please suggest some other ROM's too and Can I install the Paranoid Android ROM or Cyanogenmod on this phone
It has a single core ARM V7 processor with the chipset Mediatek MT6575

Custom ROM for Celkon a97i
I too have this amazing Celkon a97i. The hardware of the phone is too good for the price range it was offered in. The only downside with Celkon is they don't release the OS updates for their phones.
I love to have a JB update on my phone. If someone can actually compile a ROM for this device, it would be great. If not, at least let us know how to do it. This is an awesome piece of hardware that deserves a Jelly Bean update..

we "xtouch guys" all are alone.
cause Xtouch Phones aren't standard phones.
i have X405 and X403 and X907
and i'm so contrite about bought them.... cause there is no support
and i can't update any of them cause there is no bootloader or recovery mode in them and xtouch.ae said there is... but nooooooooooooooooo there is not

guys we can help each other don't worry i have some experience in this stuff as i have created custom Rom for xtouch X1, actually i was finding more people of xtouch users so that i can create a group and we can work together

Guy's i'm ready here to be a BETA tester. tried to update and did successfully to official xtouch 4.1.2 but it's crappier than the old one

u can port roms from micromax canvas a110
bcoz of same processor
and yes u can get kitkat update because canvas a110 is getting a 4.4 update so u can port it to your device

yes we can port but i have xtouch x1 not x405 so i would need some testing and so on

If you can really get an android 4.4 custom roms going for the xtouch X1 I would be truly appreciative to you forever. I'm an X1 user and I cannot find anything about the X1 phones.

dude dude you are over here in right time i have ported MIUI to our mobile only thing is that camera is not working fine rest works properly

Sorry for the massive delay in reply... I was so caught up with other stuff... Dude how is that ROM working out? I managed to root the Xtouch X1 using the latest version of Framaroot.
Right now I wanna change the recovery to something like Clockworks or whatever is compatible with the Mediatek system. Will the ROM you're working on be something like Cyanogen? Stock Android? How stable is everything now?

dude its stable right now only problem is camera for recovery i have one for x1 if you want i can provide it to you its cwm based touch recovery but it has some issue like touch screen is not properly calibrated so for that you have to first use buttons to navigate and then after that you try to use on screen buttons
and for the rom its called MIUI you can visit miui.com to check their videos and awesome features it has

No, for that we either need a custom rom which can act as base or an Too experienced developer who have ported roms using stock as base.So, i don't thinks think that porting will be possible but you can still try might luck turns in your favour :fingers-crossed:
yse search for compatible customs roms are use any themes to display it :cyclops:
it is possible i guess.. i have ported ROMz for MTK , not sure how qualcomm works .... but i have seen many people porting it...

I'm here, because i have a Umi Cross MTK6589T since one year, but now, when i search new ROM there is no Kitkat Rom ! Only 4.2.1, before i had a Galaxy Note 2 and make my proper rom and it was great ! But now, it's really painful to find a KitKat ROM for MTK phones ! Someone have an idea where it possible to find a kernel or something for upgrade the phone ?
I can't find any MTK6589T with a Kitkat ROM, or any guide or tutorial for make a new rom ! If someone have an idea, will be really great ! I missing my Note 2 .. When i see all the updates and ROM available ..
