Here it is

This method has worked for me numerous of times after coming back from another ROM, or when I just miss using Slimbean....
IF your in stock, and want a clean memory on phone You may use this code to reformat the SDCard *2767*3855# (type on dialer) will delete everything)
phone memory=internal memory
put update.zip http://sourceforge.net/projects/stockodinjfd/files/update.zip/download
on your phone memory.
Download slimbean vibrant 4.2.2 ROM ONLY and put it on your phone memory ***no need to download gapps for 4.2.2 if your not going to use the rom***
put slimbean 4.3.1. official 2.2. on phone memory
put gapps 4.3 also in phone memory if your going to be using gapps...
alright,
1.
Unplug the USB (assuming you are still connected after using ODIN)...
Hold down volume up + volume down + Power for about 9 seconds.
If you prefer, you can power off your phone, then hold in all 3 buttons to boot into recovery, I don't see the point in waiting for the phone to power off.
This will get you to a recovery menu (blue/purple text) after some yellow text.
2.
In this (the stock recovery menu) select 'Reinstall Packages'
Use volume to navigate + power to select.
3.
It will cycle a bit, you will see that yellow text again, then it will return to the stock recovery. Select Reinstall packages again.
You are now in CWR (clockwork recovery).
4. install 4.2.2
during this installation your boot will random boot. If stuck on vibrant logo, remove battery and go to recovery mode. This means Semaphone kernel was installed. semaphore recovery should come up
5. factory wipe/ system clear/ etc, ***wipe how you would wipe everything to go get a clean flash***
6. install slimbean 4.3.1
*Optional, then install gapps 4.3 ***if you dont install gapps you wont have google playstore unless you use apk***
7. wipe cache & dalvik cache
reboot
load time 3-6 mins, let it breath....
Hit thanks if it worked for you

thanks all sloved problem

Where to start.. In CWM after save villain on SD, just flash update.zip?
Coming from Another ROM
Ensure CWM recovery is available, do a CWM/nandroid backup and titanium backup, and put the zip onto the root of the internal SD.
Enter CWM, carry out a factory reset, and cache wipe, and flash the ROM via "Install zip from SD" option.
Reboot the phone into VillainROM, bearing in mind the first boot may take some time on the boot animation.

1. download and copy the villian zip file to your sd card after making a back up of your data.
2. go into cwm- boot into recovery, clean cache. Stay in recovery mode.
3. go advanced and clean dalvik cache. Stay in recovery mode
4 select install zip file.
5. choose zip from sd card, scroll down to the zip file you have download.
6. select and agree to install.
7. let it install, scroll back up to reboot system.
8. rom will install it may take up to 5 minutes for the first install.
You can scrool up down in recovery mode by using the volume keys. power button or homke button selects depending on what version of cwm you have.
back button returns you back on screen.

SGS3 bricked by downgrading CM10.1 nightly to CM10-nightly

Hi guys,
if this has been encountered and answered before please bear with me - the search function lets me down...
I installed cm-10.1-20121217-NIGHTLY-i9300.zip on my SGS3 yesterday (international model) coming from cm-10-20121216-NIGHTLY-i9300.zip. Sadly, after reboot, it appeared that all of a sudden my Runtastic app was gone, simply gone. I tried to access Google Play to get it reinstalled but the Google Play screen would just flash up for maybe 100-200ms, then disappear again. No way to start Google Play. I then wanted to go back to cm-10-20121216-NIGHTLY-i9300, but after rebbot, the device appears to hang in the boot process, displaying only the rotating CM logo almost indefinitely (well, at least 55 minutes).
Using recovery mode took me no where either - I get the screen with the yellow triangle but I can do nothing from there on, having to reboot. Which takes me back to square one - bummer.
What can I do to unbrick / reinstall cm-10-20121216-NIGHTLY-i9300? I think it may have something to do with wiping data but there was no point where I could have done this.
TIA!
First: how did you install the ROMs?
The screen with the yellow triangle is download-mode, not recovery. So i wonder how you installed these zip.
Also CM10.1 messes up your sdcard, it'll put all your data in the folder /sdcard/0/ so thats why you probably can't find anything in CM10.
Didn't you forget to install the gapps after flashing CM10?

CM updater needs CWM so just boot into CWM recovery (not download-mode) and do a factory reset/wipe.
And install the gapps after the factory reset.

The standard procedure (vol down, home, power) will send me reproducibly straight to download mode. Apparently, there is something severely screwed up... I'll try to re-flash CWM using Odin and go on from there
Update: Re-flashing solved the problem. Thanks for your hints!
vol down, home, power = Download Mode
vol up , home, power = Recovery Mode
First thing to do is calm down. Then, check if you can boot into download (power+volume down+home) . If yes, search for a stock rom to flash via Odin, from your pc ^^
same thing happened to me last night have been installing the nightles almost everyday no issues whatsoever in the last 2 months last night went ot nightly 20121218 or maybe it was the 19 not sure and it bricked my phine, 1/2 back now about to bring it back to stock and then go back to cm 10, i don't even have google play on the device anymore and have no option either to sign in with google account.
TIA![/QUOTE]
Cm10.1 moves all ur files in int-card to mnt/0 once u flash it from cm10 so u have to move all files back using PC or cm explorer so clockworkmod folder with your backup can be detected once u go on recovery mode... Download the latest gapps for 4.2, flash cm10.1 and latest gapps den clear dalvik
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
What you can do is, fisrt try to boot into CWM with vol up + home +power.
If it does get in there, wipe data, wipe cache and wipe dalvik.
Then reboot in download mode.
Get odin desktop, and flash a rom with PDA, and you should be ready to go.
If you can't get into CWM, you must get into download mode, and flash cwm with odin desktop.
After that is done you will be able do get into cwm, and follow the procedures i described.

[Q] Installing a ROM for the first time - PACman ROM (for 5.0)

I will be getting a Samsung Galaxy Player 5.0 tomorrow and I am interested in installing the PACMAN ROM
However, the instructions are not clear for me since I am new to all this. I've downloaded the roms, gapps and kernal and now the instructions say to:
'Put the files on your device
Reboot into recovery
Wipe dalvik cache
Install the zips (or do adb sideload if you want)
Reboot'
Since I have no experience with android devices, I am not sure how to do these steps. I've tried searching on Youtube but there aren't any tutorials for SGP's. I am aware that I need to do a full wipe since I am going from GB to JB (so I need to delete data, dalvik, system and dbdata). It also says to do a backup if anything goes wrong, which I am not too sure how to do as well.
If someone could explain these instructions clearly to me, it would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

put your device in download mode (hold down power and volume down) and flash entropy's kernel with odin.
then you will have clockworkmod recovery, which you can boot into by holding power and volume up.
in clockworkmod, you can make a backup, wipe data, and install the rest of the stuff.
you could even do all of this without ever booting up the stock rom.
This is what I do/did...
I used this tutorial to flash CWM and root
http://m.androidauthority.com/galaxy-player-5-0-android-2-3-6-root-clockworkmod-recovery-116474/
Download SuperOneClick and
Download Odin. Follow tutorial.
Odin can be used to flash ROMs or kernels and to flash CWM.
Download the Pacman ROM and a kernel and put it on your External SD card.
Use ROM Manager from the play store to reboot into Recovery mode (easiest way) or volume up and power button at the same time as the Samsung flashes after you first boot your device.
From recovery mode you can wipe dalvik cache etc, but if this is a new device, you shouldn't have to factory reset or wipe cache (I think) If you're buying a used device, wipe and reset.
You're in recovery mode still, navigate to-
"Load zip from external SD card" and select it. Navigate to the Pacman zip and select it.
You navigate using the volume up and down buttons and select using the power button.
Navigate back to main screen in recovery mode and select Reboot System.
Do the same thing to flash a kernel. If the kernel has clockwork mod integrated, load the kernel first.
I use Xplore to move files around, it's quick and easy.
The reason ppl tell you to back up any data is, they have data they want to keep. If this is a new device, you don't have anything worth saving, such as contacts apps etc.

After I flashed the kernel, it said 'PASS' on the Odin screen but now my device keeps rebooting, and it won't stop! D:
I can enter CWM Recovery, and I tried wiping data/factory reset and I've wiped cached partition but it still keeps rebooting.
If anyone knows how to fix this, please let me know! I've googled this problem for 3 hours but haven't found a solution
what exactly did you do in cwm?
did you install pac rom?
if not, try installing (using install zip from sdcard) it directly over gb, after doing a full wipe.
also install gapps the same way

I followed instructions on this website;
m.androidauthority.com/galaxy-player-5-0-android-2-3-6-root-clockworkmod-recovery-116474/
(I can't post links, but its the website that HOG1 posted above)
I got up to step 7, but my device kept rebooting after that. So I went in CWM recovery by holding POWER and UP buttons and wiped my data and cache but it still kept rebooting.
And I can't flash any roms since I still haven't rooted the device. I couldn't use entropy's kernel because I have an INTL Galaxy Player.

Would that work, even though I haven't rooted my device yet? Since I haven't done the steps under 'Rooting the Galaxy Player 5.0' on the link HG1 sent.
oh you have an intl device. in that case, you'll have to install cm9 first, power down, boot up into recovery and install pac rom
you dont have to be rooted for this

Okay, but in the CM9 thread the first thing it says for installation is 'Make sure your device is ROOTED' and mine is not - so are you sure it will work? I just don't want to brick my device or anything, just got it today xD
to install cm9, boot into recovery, and go to mounts and storage, then select the mount usb storage (connect your usb cable to your computer first)
then copy a cm9 rom zip over (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1679957)
you should be fine
if something fails for some reason, try installing http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1465144 via odin (put your device in dl mode).
this is a rooted stock rom

yup, dont forget to wipe data, cache, dalvik, (look under mounts and storage) system, and dbdata (or datadata)
All this INTL and US device stuff just throws wrenches into everything. The link I posted says it's for INTL and US devices. Apparently not the case.
I have intl kernel on my US device and it works fine, not sure why the reverse isn't true. Weird.
I use the INTL kernel because I like the governors choices.

Yeah it sucks that Samsung made different devices for different regions...Makes no sense..
But yeah, I installed CM9 and when I selected to reboot my phone from the actual ROM it said 'Rebooting...' and now its been like this for 30mins or so... :| I guess I'll have to wait for the battery to drain or something, but as soon as it does I'll wipe data, etc and install PACMAN with the new kernel and gapps. Sucks that you can't take the battery out the phone, I don't think the phone is actually gonna reboot.
EDIT: NEVERMIND, I JUST SAW ONLINE THAT YOU CAN SWITCH IT OFF BY HOLDING DOWN THE POWER BUTTON AND HOME BUTTON...Yeah I'm totally new to Android and Samsung xD
Or you could hold the power and volume up buttons to go into Recovery mode and reboot from there.

I finally got it working yesterday evening, and I'm loving the new ROM! Thanks a lot for your time and effort guys, I really appreciate it

I got the cm10.1 JB on my Galaxy 5.0 Player USA

1) turn usb debugging on
2) run superoneclick and click root
3) go into janitor mode using power and DOWN volume from complete a shutdown
4) load odin and install YP-G70-Kernel-r14.tar - this installs CWM
5) from complete shutdown now hit power and UP volume to get into CWM
6) backup (optional), then do wipe of data, cache and advanced->dalvik
7) install Player5-RemICS-UX-EC0.zip rom from sd first then boot up into ti.
8) Shutdown, go back to CWM (like step 5) and then do cache wipe and advanced->dalvik again (no need for data wipe)
8) Then install cm-10.1-20130723-UNOFFICIAL-venturi.zip unoficial jb rom from sd card
9) install Mercurius_Reborn_RC1_usa.zip (allows capacitive touch to work on player 5.0)
10 reboot into os again, do whatever then shutdown back to CWM
10) install gapps-jb-20130301-signed.zip and then reboot and google will update itself
Reboot into Jelly Bean!
Make sure this is only for Player 5.0 USA
Instead of restarting, you could just flash Gapps after you flash the ROM.

[Q] How to Install SuperNexus 4.0 - I9100 - Build 1

Hi!
I'm a owner of Samsung Galaxy S2, GT-i9100. I always installed a stock unbranded firmware. The last firmwares I installed using MobileOdin from phone. I'm not at advance user for flashing and modding the phone. I never do a wipe or something more advance. My phone is rooted, because MobileOdin allow that.
Now I would like to install the SuperNexus 4.0 - I9100 - Build 1 firmware. I thinks is I looking for a lite firmware with out bloatware and a update Android version.
Reading the post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2583611 I have some doubts.
The instruction are:
Instructions:
First time installing SuperNexus 4.0 to your device, or coming from another ROM:
- Copy Google Apps and SuperNexus ROM into your internal SD Card
- Boot into Recovery (Volume up + Home + Power)
- DO A DATA WIPE / FACTORY RESET (otherwise your device will be stuck at boot)
- Flash SuperNexus ROM
- Flash Google Apps package
- Reboot your device
It is possible to install the with MobileOdin this firmware?
If not, I have installed: Room Manager from play.google.com (Premium) for my phone, that is needit?
The flash SuperNexus ROM and Google Apps is at the same time?
Thanks in advance!

The instructions are quite simple and straight forward... Just follow it.. u dont e1 need a pc to flaash the rom into ur phone. Y try odin when u can do it with just the phone???
And Rom manager is not needed for this..
Turn the phone off first. And then boot(turn ur phone on) into recovery mode as mentioned in the instructions by keeping al 3 buttons(vol up + home + power) pressed..
ur phone then boots into recovery.. 'Wipe data and factory reset' option can b seen right ther.. Jus select it..
once done,
(u might hav to flash a kk supporting kernel b4 flashin the supernexus rom.. u can get this here.
Flash tn from ur sdcard by selecting 'install zip' option and selecting the kernel file. Once done, goto advanced->reboot recovery. Once it reboots,)
goto 'instal zip' again and select the supernexus rom zip file there and wait for it to complete flashing..
then goto advanced->wipe dalwik cache.
then flash gapps in a similar way and again wipe dalvik cache and then reboot system from main recovery menu.
Its quite simple!
all the best! :good:
^^^^
Good advice.
Also, OP - remove Rom Manager from your phone right now. Unless you'd like to end up with bootloop, busted recovery & possible data loss (caused by not doing backups & having to do a factory reset in order to fix your phone). Rom Manager does not play nice with the I9100.
Thanks! I installed with out issues the ROM. It's great. My major doubt was how to update de CWM.
Again, thanks!
I need to resolve the camera issue, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2583611&page=8, the message #73.
I try to delete o remplace the camera apk and is not possible. I am using ES File Explorer with root privilegies but I can rename, delete or copy to /system/apps directory.
I need to use other application?
thanks!
