You have to do with superCID
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2109862
which im not sure if it even works. just moonshine and S-off your phone. then you can flash a custom recovery and ROM

i tried the windroid toolkit but it didnt work,so i tried downloading moonshine and do it manually.everything seemed to be going great.but when it got to "installing temproot" it failed and it told me to exit. what went wrong?

yeah dont use the tool kit. Make sure to run moonshine as admin. reboot phone and try again. Also reboot your computer for the hell of it. That might kill any open sessions the tool kit still has. Moonshine is to be the only thing running.

You are probably used to the one-click everything. Installs recovery, s-off, unlock bootloader and root.
What you did, sounds like JUST root. Next step for you would be to unlock the bootloader via HTCDEv. Once you do that you can install a custom recovery.
That's the current state of options right now.

Is anyone having problems with rom manager in recover. I've rooted my HTC EVO LTE and unlocked the boot loader with HTC DEV. Then flashed recovery from rom manager. Then when I start recovery, rom manger recovery loads, but when ever I choose an option it goes no where and just sits with the hat. None of the options like reboot system, install zip from Sd-card, or advanced work. All of them take me to a black screen with hat and don't take me anywhere. What am I doing wrong. Any suggestions?
Attached is the error file that I get when I attempt to use recovery.
Do I need to partition my Sd-card in order to get it to work. It's been a long time since I did this, I can't remember if I need to do this in order to get it to work?

Start with S-OFF. After that, you just run the RUU from HTC (like you would've done to upgrade to 4.3).

Your storage is likely corrupt. You can format it with your PC but this will delete everything from your storage. All you need to do is download the SuperSU zip to your phone and flash it in recovery, then you'll be rooted. You'll also need to install the SuperSU app from the Play store if it's not included in whatever ROM you flash. Once you've done this you can start the S-off process.

If you have any important files on your internal storage copy them to your PC. You can download the SuperSU zip afterwards and use your computer or a file manager to move it to your SD card if you'd like but it won't matter where you put it, it's just personal preference.

I would suggest running the RUU again. Connect your phone and PC via Fastboot USB mode. Once you've done this, double-click the RUU to start the installer. Since you're S-on you may have to relock your bootloader first.

Well...since you are Sprint you probably unlocked via HTC dev. You can flash your unlock token again which will allow you to flash a custom recovery. You can then flash the current rooted Rom and use sunshine to s off again. The hard option is flashing an older Rom to use firewater as doing so will make your phone reboot about every thirty seconds because of the firmware mismatch. I can help you get it done that way if you want...up to you. Six of one half dozen of the other. You can almost always fix a phone that still boots to hboot and is unlockable. You won't have adb in the current mode either btw....

Phone only Reboots to Fastboot after Attempting Root

Hello all, a couple of nights ago I tried to root my Desire. Everything went fine up through flashing TWRP, but then after trying to install SuperSU, TWRP alerted me that there was no OS installed should I reboot. After that it has only booted to the fastboot, though I am able to get to the recovery through the bootloader. I've tried using the HTC RUU, flashed a different recovery, flashed the stock recovery and kernel, but to no avail. Last night I installed Insertcoin ROM, and was able to interact with the installation screen, but when the phone rebooted, it just went back to the fastboot. I'm pretty stuck right now, any suggestions will help. Thanks in advance!

Thank you for replying! I thought I had already tried to flash a custom recovery, it was even TWRP the first time. I'm just trying to get my phone back to an operable state. I'll try it now though.
Tried the TWRP download, didn't work. The phone still only boots to fastboot, and won't go to the recovery at all. TWRP worked well until I tried to reboot, and then I was taken back to fastboot.
