Best PPC Toolz up till end feb 2006

Hi XDAII(i) owners,
I sold my XDAII & bought an XDAIIi for the integrated wifi & better cam.
Very satisfied, don't need WM2005 (tested on my XDA2 nice layout, but I can also set nice themes on my 2i and less battery than WM2005).
As the ppc toolz are for both devices the same, here i add my favorite ppc toolz list up till today, cause there is so much new software everyday :
1. Tomtom Navigator 5 Europe with plus-maps & poi's & checkpoint
Nice 3D interface, easy to use, best GPS program.
2. Hitchhiker 0.32 (freeware Kasuei Consultant Group) 0.4 still beta with some crashes - best wifi-connection tool to get online everywhere 4 free (80% of networks no WEP keys)
2. SPB Pocketplus 3.0.4
Best program with shortcuts to all your programs & themes, ...
3. Marsware Weatherpanel
Nicest weatherpanel that updates daily the weather 4 free on your ppc
4. Photocontacts Pro
Dial someone by clicking the picture and see the picture when they dial
5. Skype for ppc : free calls to anyone (if other person has also ppc phone with wifi & skype or via desktop pc & headset)
6. Avantgo : your daily newspaper with technews, movie, sports, actual news, register and free up to 2000kb news / day / different channels.
7. Mobimate Worldmate 2006 (ideal traveltool) updates weather different travel-locations, updates flight-schedules!, currency conversions, international measurements, and other traveller stuff.
8. Pocketdivx : ideal to play avi's and other videofiles
9. Pocket Music Player Bundle v3.2 : ideal for playing music and use your xdaIIi as a mp3 player (direct play from desktop ppc-multitask possible)
10. Anton Tomov Pocket Mechanic - to format SD card (when problems) or other cleanup/tweaks
Which essentials are on your lists ?
I hate it that msn has no email plugin or you have to go for the paid version. There is a 'photmail' program but still in beta i think.
Cheers,

Rhapsody windows mobile

Fellow developers
Rhapsody came out for the Iphone and Ipod touch recently.
is there a way for anyone to port this to windows mobile? im using rhapsody to listen to music and i love it, would be amazing if i could use it on my phone while traveling.
Regards
Yep, I 2nd that. This is a big deal in usefulness of the phone as my mp3 player through A2DP and in the car. In fact, even though I've been with WM through thick and thin for a decade, it's getting old and the news of this makes me almost seriously consider leaving WM just because of this great development. No syncing, no transferring, just easy over the web unlimited 8 million songs! Please get this going, someone, please!
verizon
Rhapsody has an wm app through verizon's 'vcast' $15/per month service. maybe someone could 'adapt' to work on other carrier?
although its in early stages of development, the app groovefish, here on xda is quite nice. its found and played every song ive searched for.

its not a APP its a download while tethered to PC solution ... i just wish some would help me get my drm fixed on 6.5 .
but a streaming app would be nice 2. ;-)
Co-sign. I've been using Rhapsody for years, it would be awesome to have it on my phone.
any one want to throw down on a bounty ?;-)
I'm in
I'll put $10 on fixing DRM for 6.5 (cab so we can install on custom ROMs)

I'll put down $20 to fixing DRM on 6.5.
After years of Use Rhapsody has finally figured out i'm not from the States , stopping my Service on PC.
I have read that a WM version is indeed in the planning (WMPowerUser article), but they need to open up to let me in again.
ORB works fine on WM, for both audio and video

but orb does not give you a HUGE music catalog.. RHAPSODY for winmobile please any one ??? here are the APIs webservices.rhapsody.com
I've been told (I can't confirm it) that Rhapsody To Go will sync with the new 6.5 Verizon ROM. There must be some way to use that ROM to fix Rhapsody in cooked ROMs.
Are you telling me that rhapsody to-go doesn't work with windows mobile 6.5??? I currently use rhapsody everyday on my ATT Tilt. Rhapsody to-go syncs DRM subscriber tracks to the storage card inside my Tilt (It plays for 30 days on the standard windows media player mobile).
I'm thinking of upgrading to the Tilt 2 which has windows mobile 6.5. Will the rhapsody DRM still work in the same way with this phone? Please let me know.

yes exactly, it only works with DRM-supporting devices, what i would like is just the rhapsody application for windows mobile, just search album, click play, turn of screen and enjoy
i have looked at the API site, thanks for that link xhotz but i dont know if i will be capable of setting something up on winmo platform
next to that:
i am outside of the US, so the weblinks on the api-site don't work
+1 on the full Rhapsody request. I have Rhapsody To Go working (DRM and all) on my HD2 and also no problem on my TYTNii previously. However, I will say that the documentation and the authorization techniques are not obvious on Rhapsody and you need to read through the details to make it work.
However, streaming Rhapsody would be really great.
Rhapsody WM 6.5
It's B.S. that they will not offer this for 65, but with the newest update Amazon is offering there MP3 service per song or album for the same price as their website. I buy from them all the time so it's time for winmo users to stop sucking the nipple of Rhapsody and Use a better non subscription service pay per song or album like you would on a desktop... it's in the Windows Marketplace for free, but those using T-Mobile HD2 the newest OS upgrade includes this and a few other goodies.

[Suggestion for APP] PC Remote through WiFi?

Hi dear devs, chefs and all know what their doing
Is there a way we could see an app that could transform your HTC HD2 (or other winmo phone) into a remote controll for some of the PC apps (winamp/mdia players/ im's, others).
I'd love to be able to change the movie or shutdown my PC through my phone.
Thanks for letting me know your thoughts!
zonescreen do that, but impossible to run it on HD2 with seven. If you use XP it could be ok for you.
Also Salling Clicker and GRemote Pro - google it.
GRemote is good. There's this for Windows Media Center too.
If you can get Windows Sideshow to work it could do what you need.

[Closed] Searching tester for Media Center Control closed beta

The betatest is closed. Thank you!
Hi,
I'm the developer of Media Center Control. With this remote control for your Windows Mobile device you can control your Windows Media Player or Windows Media Center. It's designed for Windows 7, but it works for Windows Vista Media Player also. On Windows Vista there is no Media Center support. To use it with your Media Center, Windows 7 is a must have.
Media Center Control isn't only a normal remote control. It's more a port of the Media Center UI to your smartphone. You are able to browse the media content on your phone and then start playback/recording on your PC. It's possible to control music, movies, photos and tv broadcast on your phone. Media Center Control establishes a connection to your PC via Bluetooth - which is very power saving - or via TCP/IP (Wifi for example). It's also possible to browse your EPG over the internet and then schedule records. Watch the screenshot to get a quick overview of what it is.
Now I'm searching beta tester for the closed beta test. What you will need to help me testing:
- Windows 7 (Windows Media Player or Windows Media Center)
- Windows 7 Media Center for TV/EPG features
- Windows Mobile 6.x device with bluetooth and/or WiFi
- It's highly recommed to use bluetooth because it's much more power saving than WiFi. You will need a bluetooth enabled PC and WM device to use this connection type.
If you are interested to help testing and your device configuration met the requierments, please post a comment here or leave a private message. I then will give you more instructions for registering as a beta tester.
Thanks in advance!
Hey n1 2 see someone takes care of this prob!
Many iPhone apps on market but no useful and touchfriendly win prog.
I see in HD2/Leo area many threads about this question. I think many members will be happy. I make some links

I've got a window 7 media center machine with a bluetooth mouse and keyboard (and a bluetooth dongle which I can pair with my phone)
And a touch pro 2 running energyrom so I'd be glad to test this.
Hi,
I am also interested, I am running a windows 7 Media Center (accessible through WiFi) and a Windows 7 standard-installation accessible through bluetooth (MC might be upgraded with bluetooth, but dongle is currently making some problems). My mobile has both bluetooth and Wifi
Sincerely
Eyeless
Hey,
I am also interested in beta testing. My "server" is running Windows Media Center 7 (64bit) and is streaming live-TV to an xbox and Linksys Extender. It would be great to easliy access all the media with my phone and the most appreciate function would the EPG one. Really looking into that.
I have a HTC HD2 running CleanEX HyperROM Ultimate v11.5.
I hope you will let me test the app for you ^^.
Me 2 whant to help you, us

I, if you need i'm here to help
Hd2 owner with w7 media center (3 Computer with w7) and also HTC Diamond and Vista if needed.
do you plan epg integration?
I'm willing to help beta test. WM7x64 with a TP2 running my own rom. I have a bluetooth dongle somewhere around here, but Wifi would be my preffered choice (meaning I can test both).
Edit: I love the way the UI looks.
Thank you very much, but in the moment no more tester are requiered.
I have 3 W7 media centers in my house would LOVE to help test this ..
Would want to try too.
Multiple W7 Ultimate machines and my Sony X1
Hi,

I would really apprechiate to test this app, sadly I missed your post in Time.
(I have Win 7 Home Premium/Ultimate as well as various wm-devices).
Do you already have any idea when the app will be released to public ?
Greetings

yay, now thats nice!
Yep... I'll reactivate my Premium account once it's released. The reason I abandoned it in the first place was when I moved from Symbian to WM and discovered that there was no official Spotify client for WM.

I have a problem with this version. Whenever a new song starts the volume gets reset to a very low volume. If you have the same problem I suggest you report it at: http://getsatisfaction.com/spotify/problems/recent
Brgds... /Tubgirl
..same problem here
Does anyone NOT have this bug? It would be interesting to know if this problem is related to HD2 or if other models are affected as well.
Any hack or workaround to get this working on a QVGA screen? It seems like the app was only made for WVGA...
Make sure to advertise that you too have the problem -> getsatisfaction.com/spotify/topics/windows_mobile_app_volume_problem_on_htc_hd2_leo. They claim spotify employees are watching the site.
Maybe we can get it up on the list a bit.
Got this problem on a Touch Pro 2, and someone on the spotify blog reports it on a Samsung device.
Yeah same problem with the sound for me too, I've also registered it on the Get Satisfaction thread.
Randomly this is a windows mobile client issue, as I don't get it in Android on the same HD2 handset.
I don't have this problem as long as I use the volume buttons to adjust volume while Spotify is maximized.
If I adjust the volume while Spotify is minimized, I get the problem.
HD2 with ROM 1.66 Norwegian.
