Is the odin method any better then the kies method?
I know the Kies restore works as it unbricked my Mega a few days ago.

Well this is great news becouse that means some one is now working on the mega.... restoring with odin and kies should be the same the difference is that doing it with kies is the official way to restore. With odin you dont even need the phone serial number. If you know what you are doing try odin metod but if you have no clue do the kies way since kies wont let you upload the wrong rom to your phone.

can this be de bloated before flashing with odin? also could someone work on getting tethering working (Native Tethering)

Good job!
hoepfully we will start seeing some custom roms from this. Deblotiation, etc.
Thanks

First we need bootloader unlocked
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I527 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app

We may not need bootloader unlocked to flash. AT&T Note 3 just figured out how to do it and safesrrap may be another alternative.

Im gonna say the bootloader

will this work with the boot loader locked
can you use this to get back to stock with odin or not ???? or does the boot loader still need to be unlocked???

Thank You SO Much
Just wanted to say thanks @fixit35 for uploading this and posting this. This really got me out of a tight pinch. Thanks so much. And for those that have doubts, this does INDEED work by flashing via Odin while in Download mode on the Mega. Cheers.

Could be doing something rookie here. But in mobile oden when I try to open files into the modem section I can't see the .bin file. Should I be able to or is .bin meant to be used some other way?
OK found out it has to be called modem.bin for it to work!

Sorry I am new to this device. I was under the impression if you flashed it back to a stock rooted odin then you would have the original firmware and the app should work as advertised. Sorry never used it myself that is why I am curious incase I ever get in your position.

Not entirely sure what you're trying to do but you should be able to find that pretty quick.

If it's not in there then you can Google it.
Not hard to find.
And I don't think it's a good idea.

Fails?
if so have you flashed with Odin using the PIT file?
This is needed in order to repartition the device due to the botched recovery install i believe.

do you have another pc you can try as well?
Try a new cable using the pit file or a different pc. These make all the difference

I've recently had to get a new one bc my original cable doesn't work with Odin anymore
It would always stop at hidden partition then eventually get worse stopping at earlier partitions.
