==============================
Be Advised:
- Root access is not included by default as of yet. Flash SuperSU for root (also see "SURVIVAL" note).
- Feel free to leave bug reports on the bugtracker.
- This firmware will install TWRP as your device recovery (required to recieve OTA updates).
-GApps >PA 0 Day< mini only (see GApps note)
ART works, but Xposed breaks it.
Recovery requirement
(prior to flashing this firmware):
================
CWM 6.0.4.4+
(flash the latest cm nightly)
--OR--
TWRP 2.6.3.0+
(flash Omni's Boot.IMG via MobileOdin)
NOTES:
GApps: The size of full (system installed) Gapps packages prevent the use or ART runtime. Mini Gapps + google play installation of desired addons is a more efficient approach considering the resources available.

Click to collapse
SURVIVAL: Go to super SU settings and install backup script. Root will survive updates. As for gapps both banks and PA have backup scripts. You don't need to re-flash them.
in system/addon.d, you should have a 99-supersu.sh, and 70-gapps.sh backup scripts, which survive the Rom update.
The script backs up beforehand and will restore after the flash.
From the backup script..
#!/sbin/sh
#
# /system/addon.d/99-supersu.sh (root:root 755)
# During an upgrade, this script backs up SuperSU-related files,
# /system is formatted and reinstalled, then the files are restored.

How to install CWM from TWRP?
3men2 said:
Boot into TWRP recovery
choose Install
Go to emmc to acces the internal sdcard and go to where you have the kernel with cwm( Siya, AJK, STI)
Flash the Kernel, when finished DON'T TOUCH REBOOT SYSTEM, Just go back to previous screen and choose the reboot to recovery option.
You will boot into CWM now and will be able to wipe everything without issues...

MobileOdin Install:
With your phone on fully booted into (whatever ROM)
1) Gather all necessary flash files onto internal sdcard before performing these steps.
---a) Boot.IMG (extracted from omni-4.4.x-latesti9100-nightly.zip)
---b) MrCook's ROM wipe.zip
---c) Omni-nightly.zip
---d) PA GApps (optional)
---e) SuperSU (optional)
2)Mobile-odin flash Omni's boot.img
>>the phone will try to reboot, but will likely fail. Three-finger salute (with the USB cable UNPLUGGED), until you are in TWRP recovery<<
3) [install] > [COOK'S ROM WIPE.zip] > [add more zips] > [omni-4.4.x-latesti9100-nightly.zip] > [add more zips as desired] >>swipe to confirm flash>> [reboot system]

If you don't leave your phone to settle down how you can judge battery life?

Regards.

your choice, both are ART compatible:
BaNkS (standard)
PA 0 Day
...or any other 4.4 Gapps package.

BaNkS core doesn't include GEL. You'll need to flash BaNkS standard for that experience.

Try to use something around 120MB liek pa gapps modular mini or else system partition will run out of space causing several problems.

Works like a charm.
(50% of original size)

It does replace the camera with the photosphere camera, and works well with OmniROM on i9100 and i777.

Can we just clear cache and flash this if we are already running the other CyanogenMod 11 from the other thread? The one that is NOT nightly? Or will we have to wipe then flash?

Yes you should be able to flash the ROM then flash Gapps and flash SuperSU and get away with just wiping the cache.

Alright cool I'll give it a try, but will I have to flash Gapps if I've already got 4.4 Gapps? Cause I am running CyanogenMod 11 with Android 4.4, I just don't have this nightly updated version.

Yes, anytime you replace system applications you will want to flash Gapps and if you want root you'll want to flash SuperSU after you flash Gapps. So just flash the ROM, then flash Gapps, then flash SuperSU all back to back, wipe cache then reboot and enjoy!

What's the difference between this build and amit_sen's? Seems like you two should work together, not compete with the same unofficial build?!

As of this build it has the updates to the source from 11/23/2013 which is just one file change for something to do with OTG. Basically I want to keep updated asap and took on this task as a learning curve and eventually may release a ROM with extra features beyond CM 11 but right now its directly from the source.

[ROM][4.4.4][YP-G70][UNOFFICIAL]CyanogenMod 11.0

CyanogenMod is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 4.4 (KitKat), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
Code:
#include <std_disclaimer.h>
/*
* Your warranty is now void.

* I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please

* you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.
*/
CyanogenMod is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. CyanogenMod does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
All the source code for CyanogenMod is available in the CyanogenMod Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to CyanogenMod, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.

ROM OS Version: 4.4.x KitKat
ROM Kernel: Linux 3.0.x
ROM Firmware Required: Need to be running 4.2 or above to install.
Version Information
Status: Stable
Stable Release Date: 2014-07-12
Created 2014-07-06
Last Updated 2014-10-12
Reserved
Notes:
Builds on/after Dec. 24 will have LVMv2 implemented (thanks to @Meticulus), where mmcblk0p13 (/system), mmcblk0p14 (/system/vendor), and mmcblk0p16 (/data) are placed in a logical volume group. This enables /system to be enlarged from 290MB to 600MB (or more as necessary later on). The packages that were removed from the first build (Apollo, File Manager, etc.) have all been re-added. Also, the removal of the vendor hack means that from now onwards, there is no need to reflash gapps after updating the rom.
-Installation Notes
--On the first flash, if the system logical volume is not present or
is less than 600M there is an assert error. This is so that if anyone
needs to backup information contained in /data, they can. In order to
proceed with the installation, the zip must be flashed a 2nd time.
--During the 2nd flash partitions in the logical group are wiped and
the logical volumes are created and formated then the /etc/fstab and
/etc/recovery.fstab are switched so that, when we hand everything off
to the normal rom installer, the new logical volumes are mounted.
-Reverting to a PRE-LVM ROM
--In the YP-G70 the "recovery", be it CWM or TWRP and in the kernel's
recovery-ramdisk. So in order to get a different recovery you just
flash a different kernel. So to get back to a PRE-LVM ROM, you just:
1. Reboot to recovery like normal.
2. Flash your PRE-LVM ROM like normal.
-- Note: All we really care about at this point is that the kernel
(boot.img) gets flashed. Ignore any other errors!
3. After the flash, Power off.
4. Hold volume up and power on, till you get to recovery.
5. Full wipe, including /system
Click to collapse
Installation Instructions:
1. Reboot to recovery and make backup.
2. Do a full wipe.
3. Flash rom. You will see an error pop up. This is perfectly normal. Flash the rom again
4. Flash Gapps.
5. Flash US kernel if necessary
6. Have fun!
Update Instructions:
1. Reboot to recovery and make a backup
2. Wipe cache/dalvik cache
3. Flash rom
4. Flash US kernel if necessary.
5. Enjoy!

Notes: This includes the fixes made by Meticulus to the camera, so now the back facing camera takes pictures if you set it to VGA. Note that if you are updating from the previous build, there is no need to reflash gapps. However, US users still need to flash the US kernel after flashing this rom.
If you are coming from a build before Dec. 24, keep in mind that data will have to be wiped in order for lvm to be setup. The installer will give you a warning the first time you try flashing and then error out so that you can backup your data if you forgot, and then you can flash the zip again.

Notes:
1. Our system partition is a little tight on space, so i had to remove a few packages during compilation so that everything fits. The things i have removed should all be replaceable with 3rd party apps. Here is a list of what has been removed and what you can use as a substitute:
Code:
CMWallpapers - Google images
Apollo - Any music app
CMFileManager - Any file manager
LockClock - Deskclock
CMUpdater - this is for official cm roms so there was really no need for this
2. Use the Gapps I have linked. Standard Gapps wont work because they are too big for the system partition.
3. This is a beta build, so things may crash or eat your cat. Flash at your own risk and make sure to make a backup before flashing
4. The rom includes the INTL kernel, so US users need to flash the US kernel every time after flashing/updating this rom.

If recovery is broken then there is probably not a way to flash this rom with twrp. You could try grabbing the boot.img from the zip and use something like flashify to install it (although im not sure if it would work)

That same flag is in your build, just comment it or remove it in your build.prop should suffice though there's something from CM that should come soon regarding this functionnality.

Rom Toolbox and the built in text editor, both no go. also unable to apply fonts from rom toolbox and can't delete bootanimation to replace with other bootanimation.
update 12/17: installed SuperSU and romtoolbox now works correctly, seems built in super user not working fully like in initial release of 4.3
Hot diggetty!
however, as I understand the paradigm, steps 7 and 8 are in the wrong order in the instruction list:

Yes. I just did it. Transparent status bar works now!
Works nice for me, thank you for this
For Those who are getting errors (eg. status 7), just flash a 4.3 rom based before jumping from 4.2 to 4.4.
@iurnait
Have you ever heard about Viper4Android? Well, I really like that app, and is a must have for me, but the last rom where it works is CM 10.1 (4.2.2) and looks like that the problem can be fixed by the rom maintener, just have a look here
If is it possible to get Viper4Android works on KitKat in this device should be really nice for me

[RECOVERY][All-F2FS] TWRP-2.7.0.0 with All-F2FS support [11/03/14]

TWRP-2.7.0.0 with "All-F2FS" support
I have modified the standard TWRP recovery to work with F2FS partitions.
This is different from the previous recoveries that i published.
This is for "All-F2FS" that mean that /system, /cache and /data are formatted with F2FS.
Keep in mind that this can work only with a compatible kernel and ROM.
What is F2FS?
F2FS (Flash-Friendly File System) is a flash file system created by Kim Jaegeuk at Samsung for the Linux operating system kernel. The motive for F2FS was to build a file system that from the start takes into account the characteristics of NAND flash memory-based storage devices (such as solid-state disks, eMMC, and SD cards), which are widely used in computer systems ranging from mobile devices to servers.
Download:
FormatPartitions.zip: Here
TWRP-recovery img: Here
Chagelogs:
- 11/03/14: Initial release
Here are some explanations. Read them
Recovery has the usual red back key to remember you that you are using a F2FS-recovery.
If wiping /system and /cache and making a factory reset from Wipe menu doesn't work, use FormatPartitions.zip. (<- READ THIS)
Instead wiping /data is fine within the wipe menu.
To switch your /system, /cache and /data partitions to F2FS follow instructions:
Keep in mind that you will lose all the files on the memory of your N7.
You need:
- Two files you can download above (img and FormatPartitions.zip)
- A ROM with "All-F2FS" support (Like my SlimKat version)
(Or Make your ROM with Convert To F2FS)
- GApps (i think you want PlayStore.) Usual GApps. Slim AiO work well.
Copy a ROM with "All-F2FS" support to your N7
Copy GApps to your N7
Copy FormatPartitions.zip to your N7
Reboot in bootloader
Flash this recovery with Fastboot (Maybe Flashify works too)
Reboot in new recovery
Flash FormatPartitions.zip
Reboot recovery (It's needed for some reasons..)
Flash ROM
Flash GApps
Go to Wipe Menu and Format Data (Not a simple wipe)
Reboot
Done.
It's easier than it seems
To restore partitions to stock:
- Download a standard TWRP
- Download RestorePartitions.zip
Flash RestorePartitions.zip (Untested)
Flash standard Recovery
Format Data in Wipe Menu
Hope i dind't any errors writing this down. I personally tested this procedure.
Enjoy.
This is Awesome thxs for your hard work. And a few people where talking about have a Twrp that had all the partitions in f2fs and bam here it is.
Awesome work legolas!
So if I understand correctly, just having an f2fs-supported kernel isn't enough to run f2fs on all partitions? We need a modified ROM as well?
Also, are you going to make a modified TWRP 2.7 with MultiROM support?
Curious about which ROM has "All F2FS" support? Lego, did you modify one as such?

I should have noticed your post with the ROM... Thanks!
Oh boy, legolas you have been mighty busy lately lol... Thanks for this hard work of yours.
Can non-devs manage to modify their ROM of choice or is this something only the ROM devs can manage?

I can verify that everything is working as advertised... Installed your modified files and am now up and running with F2FS.
I'll post if I run into anything odd.
[EDIT] Finished restoring all my apps and data. And it's blazing! Ran an ANTUTU benchmark test and scored a
14829 vs. 12726 of a stock Nexus 7!!!
And the here are the numbers for the Quadrant benchmark: 5748 vs. 3517 for stock... nice!!
Thanks again legolas!
Does the standard omni ROM will work with this? If not then where can I find a modified omni ROM? And where can we find modified gapps?

I believe users will have to ask their devs to provide a modified version of their ROM of choice. I'm going to give SlimKat a try with M-kernel here soon I think, just because legolas seems to be the only dev taking F2FS support seriously. I like that about him.
What is meant by "Normal Gapps"? I wasn't aware there was a Gapps considered not normal. There are only different versions of it. Can someone provide a link to "Normal Gapps" please? OP says in the play store but I do not find anything in the play store called normal gapps, or even gapps (although I did find something called Gapps Manager, hmmm). I normally use PA gapps or the latest CM gapps. Thank you
EDIT: Never mind, I just found that SlimROM's has their own version of Gapps, which seems to me to be the best choice if I am going to try SlimKat. lol

With "Normal" i mean the usual GApps you used (There are no need for some sort of special GApps..). Maybe "normal" can be a bit confusing.. :silly:

Ok, yeah that is a bit confusing, or at least the way you typed it is. Kinda made it seem like there was a different version I needed to look for, lol. So, normal is just what ever Gapps package you prefer to use? In other words, they should all work? Cool, thanks legolas... :good:

so that's the difference when all (system & data & cache) is in F2FS : 14k+ in antutu ? And a rom with just the data partition in F2FS got 13k+ ?

In real world terms, that is all the difference you need. The only other way to get your OS's file system any faster is to replace it with a real ssd. Its simple really, F2FS was made for NAND, and EXT4 was not.
Ok, before I start all over can someone tell me how long the Google logo is supposed to stay on the screen please? Its been about 20 minutes now, so I am wondering if its upgrading android in the background but just not displaying it. lol
EDIT: Ok, 45 minutes later, I am giving up. Going to do it all a second time now.
EDIT2: 1 hour later. Got it working second time around. I guess this recovery does not like flashing all kinds of things at once. Just flashed Rom and Gapps and its booting apparently. Will flash the 3rd party kernel and MoAB later.

Removing a ROM's stock GAPPS

I installed CM12.1 on my Samsung Galaxy S2 then I tried flashing stock Gapps but I keep getting a warning that the ROM has stock Gapps installed but all I get is the Play Store and Google search. So I want to know how to remove those from the ROM so I can install the stock GAPPS from the cyanogenmod site.

already tried that
Gapps are saved to /system partition. So go to recovery, advanced wipe, and wipe /system.
After that, flash the ROM again and the gapps you want.
Or go to file manager, / folder, system, apps and manually wipe gapps. Perhaps you have to activate root access in the app's settings.
By the way, there's a TWRP lollipop kernel, linked at this post (search for the word "this" :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=61640802
It can be flashed with cyanogen recovery.
Hope this helps.
