Those on 4.4, what file system on sd card - Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note II

Please tell me if you have a 64g sd card, what file system is it, and did you transfer music, vids, and pics? That's what's holding me up right now. Can't read ex fat and won't transfer all my stuff on fat 32, I get corruption and other problems. Any success stories? The only thing I haven't done yet is used my PC to trans to first. I've been trying to copy from phone to a micro sd to sd converter in PC.

i figured out the problem.but again a little confused.my sd caed doesnt seem to work properly.how to check and fix the sd card?
I think corrupted or "lost" files go in that folder. Did you unmount the card on the PC before switching from disk storage to charge only on android?

I think You may try to use formating tool from this site www.sdcard.org It usually helps with bigger SD cards.
Worth to try I think.
Connect your phone to your computer in mass storage mode, or preferably use a card reader and copy all your data from SD card to a backup folder. Format your SD card to FAT32 with 32kB cluster size. You can use the normal right click>format option in Windows/Linux/Mac. Uncheck Quick Format (in Windows) and let it do a full format. It'll take around 20-30 minutes for a 16GB card. This will fix any filesystem errors that are causing data loss. Once that's done, copy back all your data as it is back to the SD card. Now your card should work fine for a long time. SD cards tend to get corrupted over time, especially with Android, so doing this once in a while is helpful, whenever your card gives you any problem. I have had this same problem a few times and this fixed it for me.
I have data corruption on sd too but it happens often to data of any type/size and I believe that the corrupted data are moved to LOST.DIR They have no extension and cannot be opened or recognized. So I'm losing apps, photos, videos, anything. My device is an LG P500 and the sd card is a Transcend 4gb class 6.
What cluster size do you recommend for a 4 gb sd? 4kb is the default for its size and I believe that 32kb is too much for such a small card.

Android file size work around.

Hey guys I have been trying to get some info if it is possible to put on and play larger files then 4gb on my galaxy s2.
I havebought a micro usb to HDMI adapter and I want to stream blurry rips to my projector using my phone.
I know the file system is good only to 4gb but why is there no custom rom that Will let me formated and read/write to say ntfs in my sd card in my phone. Isn't android Linux based? I know my ubuntu has no problems reading and writing ntfs. Why can the inserted sd card not be treated like a hard drive I plug into my laptop?
Thanks for your time.
I'm not 100% sure, but if the system is set to FAT32, then it won't be able to read NTFS anyways... and microSD card is set to Fat32, so there is a problem. But there is a possible workaround I will tell you to try AT YOUR OWN RISK.
Remember, this may or may not work... so this is what you should do to be safe:
1) Do not format the card with your phone. Take it out and plug it into your PC via
a usb card reader. Make sure your system is set to see ALL files (hidden)... and copy the whole microSD card contents to a backup folder on your PC (preserving everything as is).
2) Now select your card drive and format by selecting NTFS format.
***many MicroSD cards can't be formatted like that .. but you can give it a try and see.
OH, and you might need to use Drive Mount by Dwayne Hoy. HERE
If it doesn't work - then format it back to Fat32 and put back all your content.
PS
There are different ways you can backup your Card, but I take no responsibility if this screws things up
Good luck!

Phone asking me to format SD Card!

My phone is asking me to format my sd card out of the blue. I have a 32gb Kingtson, I have a lot of crucial data. I have not yet formatted the sd card. I've tried conventional ways of getting my data like using GETDATABACK FAT32 but it did not work. I have used other but no to avail.
Does anyone know what is the best method to recover files from a sd card that was working but now it is not?
Go to settings>storage and unmount microsd. Remove the microsd feom ur phone. Use a microSD card adapter ... a full size sd card that u can put ur microsd card into and will fit into your pc. Click and drag important data from microsd onto desktop. Then fat32 format the microsd and reload the data onto it. Done.
Or u can upload all data to dropbox and then format amnd reinstall... but it may take a while.

[Q] Putting files from PC to Ext. SDcard

Hi guys,
Bought a SanDisk 32gb SDHC Class10 card from Amazon for my GS3. I want to put some music in FLAC onto it so I made a folder called music, but when I try and copy it across it gets a certain way then fails or freezes. Reformatted it last night from FAT32 to exFAT and the same thing is happening still. Hope it's not screwed, just want other opinions.
Cheers,
Eddie.

It shouldn't make any difference but did you try to format the SD Card in the phone, if not give it a go, from Settings > Storage > Format SD Card, reboot the phone, plug in the USB then when the folder option pops up to open the phone select that then create the folder on your SD Card and just drag and drop the music files from your PC folder to your SD Cards Phone folder.
Thanks for the help. I have established now that I am able to transfer music that isn't FLAC with out fault. It has led me to think that perhaps I formatted it to FAT32 and it doesn't like file sizes bigger than 4gb. But I am almost certain that I uses exFAT.

Copy SD card to larger capacity SDcard.

Hi. I have bought a new 128gbSD card to replace the 64gb card currently in my honor7. My old phone Samsung S3 used to show the card separately as 2 drives when plugged into Windows (7). I could copy the contents of the card as a back up and/or move files from the phone drive to the SD drive.
Now , when I connect my Honor 7 phone to win7, the phone only lists one directory showing all the contents together regardless of it being on the phone memory or the SD card. I need to copy the 64gb SD content onto the new 128gb SD card but I can't see it. Is there a setting or something I should be changing to achieve this. Gently please, I'm a noob when it comes to mobile techie things.
Thanks AJ
Use a micro sd to sd adapter and an sd usb adapter on your pc its the easiest and safest way
Or use this simply from you phone. No computer needed.
