Next update should be kitKat 4.4? No programs can resolve this problem?

Ok, glad to know I am not the only having this same issue. Getting no notification blinks. Only get the solid lights for charging and charged.
BTW, mine is a Verizon HTC One Max. Is this affecting all carrier models?

Havent tried yet.. will post later today. I'm using the GSM version.

The international version does not seem to have the problem. Are you guys on Verizon?

I'm on Sprint, and the led doesn't blink for me either; not sure its even supposed to on this phone..

ok, so the CDMA variants both sprint and verizon seems to have this bug. i wish HTC is aware of it or someone reports it to HTC. so that you get a fix.

Sprint model is OP3P7

Mine is OK. HTC 809D, Chinese CDMA variant

I am on Verizon and my led works for missed calls/ emails/ and texts. Maybe something you guys have installed broke led functions. ??
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 4

I think you guys can dial “*#*#3424#*#*”, then select "LED Test" and run it to test the LED function is OK

I have the same issue, international version unlocked 803s no led for anything except as stated for battery charging and battery charged. Did the led test, lights work fine steady, but does not blink as notifications nor does a 3rd party app work either (I already tried), glad to know I am not the only one was just about to be pissed until I saw this thread.

I dont know if this is a help for anyone, but i thought i would post it here JIC. As I said, I had the same issue with LED notifications not blinking, and found this post. well last night my son decided he was going to mess with my phone cause he was fascinated with the fingerprint scanner, he did it so many times that it asked for a pin, well for whatever reason it wouldnt take the pin I created and was forced to hard reset the phone. Obviously getting to White option screen, I chose Factory Reset and had to go thru the setup process, after I was done I noticed the green light was blinking, turned the phone on and to my amazement the notification led is working, it was letting me know I got an email! I tested it by sending myself a text msg and sure enough its working now!
So I dont know if this is an option for anyone, but I thought i would share, and if it makes any difference, the first time I setup the phone using the htc transfer tool to transfer my stuff from my Samsung Galaxy Note on to the phone, this time I told it to do it from scratch.
Hope it helps anyone.

Once you take that first system update, I think that's what kills it. I was getting the light per the update.

[Q] Anybody have to do a soft reset on a Photon to make calls?

The day after I traded my Evo 3D for a Photon I started having to powercycle the phone to be able to make or receive calls. Out of my 30 days. Stuck with phone. Dont want a refurb. Anybody heard of any resolutions to this? Further research has shown I am not the only one to have this problem.

Some of the phones have this issue, but very few, give Sprint a call, and see what they can do, but first, check and make sure your settings are all set and that you are all activated properly...
Did this only happen once, or more???
If once, don't sweat it, we all have a few glitches, am I right?
If not, stay posted, as I myself would like to hear the insite of other posters, as myself.
Happens everyday at least twice

Same here. Only a couple of times, but I probably only make 10 calls a month.
Rumor has it if you remove the sim card it will fix the problem. It eas the first thing i did when i got mine.
Sent from my MB855 using Tapatalk
Could Be the Sim??..??
I had this problem when I first got the phone, and I had to reset at least once to twice a day to make Phone Calls, it would make and connect the call, but I could hear nothing and neither could the person I connected with.
While just trying an At&t sim in it, to see if it would work on their towers, I changed out the sim, and once i changed back to the sprint sim, I have not had this problem since, So while I can't say that's what fixed it, it can't hurt to try it.
May be stupid question but leaving the card out wont cause in any problems? ......think I just figured out the answer to that.

I have the "no audio on calls" issue and its very annoying I usually power cycle my phone twice a day because of this. There is supposed to be an update on the 22nd but who knows for sure. I'm gonna try and take the sim out and see if this makes a difference.

I've only had my MoPho for about a week now, but have had to power cycle my phone multiple times due to this same issue. Tried the sim card theory..it still did it today. Maybe it's something in the framework? About the update on the 22nd...isn't the same day that Sprint is pushing Gingerbread to the Epic?

Very few? Some Best Buys are reporting that EVERY Photon they have sold have come back with the no audio on calls issue. On EVERY board dealing with cell phones, Android, Sprint or Motorola there are long threads of users dealing with the no audio on calls issue and trying to find fixes. IMHO this is a serious issue with the phone and Motorola and Sprint have yet to issue a statement or give any time table for a MR.
Here are some of the suggested fixes, none of which have worked for me.
1. Install MR5 found in the developers section
2. Set the Network to Sprint Only.
3. Install APP Cache Cleaner.
4. Install Juice Defender.
5. Power Off Power On the phone every morning.
I bought my phone from sprint, but have never had this problem.

Thank you for this suggestion. I just downloaded the app cache cleaner and plan to give it a whirl for a couple days see if it sorts out the silent call issue. Just for the record, I bought my phone from Sprint (so it's not necessarily isolated to BB purchased phones)...got it for $18, so I can't complain too much.

Here's a good question, please photon owners chime in!

Well I've noticed when I make a phone call my phone switches to 2g, and takes forever to switch back to 3g, I didn't have this problem till I updated to the latest Motorola photon software. Sun 154_6. But when I was on sun 154_5, I didn't have this issue. Also I restored the phone twice already and tried to avoid the update, but i became tired of seeing the install update screen and I gave in, any ideas?

Did you calibrate your G-sensor? if not, go to display and calibrate.
use this app to determine whether your G-sensor is working or not.

I tried the sensor calibration but error msg showing calibration aborted. I tried factory reset twice. Finally the sensor started working. TMO is aware of this issue faced by many Amaze owners. They are building a case for HTC to send update.
I just got my Amaze yesterday. There was an update that started last month- brings WiFi calling to the phone. If you have that one, there is no other for TMobile

Amazing ... bugs?

I bought mine for christmas , I found a dead pixel and rotation stopped working..
I sent it back for replacement, it was such a hassle cuz i dont live in usa.
Finally i got the new one, for 2 weeks now , is stock and I havent download any app just to make sure that was not the issue on the first one..
well yesterday guess what........... rotation and auto zoom stopped working on this one
I dont even know what to think now, I think Amaze is a great phone thats what i bought it .. but im having too many issues with this phone.
I set up MMS in my phone and is only receiving it no matter what , Is there a problem with amaze and MMS messages ?
Well I wonder, if I unlock it and load a rom, will it fix my problems ?
thanks in advance
Wow man I haven't had any of these issues, but my phone was rooted almost instantly, sooo...... Dead pixel is a hardware issue, so a new ROM wouldn't help that, sounds like u just got really unlucky. The other issues may be fixed by a different ROM, but would it be worth it when you have HW issues? Sheesh... Sorry
Sent from my HTC_Amaze_4G using xda premium
Yea, your just very unlucky. as was i, i sent mine back because of my missing notification bar, got the new one and now when i go to install apps from my sd, my install button becomes unresponsive until i reboot it and i have roughly a 45 sec window till it becomes unresponsive again. new roms dont hurt and worth a try. fixed my problem.
Is there a problem with MMS messages, I cant send em, but I can receive it just fine.
You know all started when I took my phone to the phone company, they restarted the phone like 3 or 4 times cause mms was not sending .. On my way home I noticed the issues, I been restarting my phone since then waiting for a miracle ...
Today in the morning , I restarted my phone again with big hopes.. And is working again.. yeyyy
But is weird that auto focus and rotation are linked ..

Proximity Sensor & AOSP

Curious to know how many other people are having issues with their proximity sensor while using a AOSP rom. I have been using Antp's "le n00b" (lol) AOSP CM9 Kang and have been having issues with my device locking up during calls. So I started to investigate more into the problem and have tried multiple fixes, nothing seems to work. I've took it a step forward just to determine whether my proximity sensor has just recently gone bad. I restored my backup of Venom and walaa, my sensor is working normally. No lockups, or any misbehaving. Only thing I find weird is some people have the issue, and some don't. Many factors come into this, I know... But my screen would only lock up if I was in a room with dim lighting. When I was outside in the sun, worked smooth. Would really like some feedback on this if you guys don't mind. Thanks!

I've got this problem too. I don't have to be in the middle of a call for my phone to freeze though. I checked with the Android Sensor app and it doesn't toggle between 0 and 9 (cm? I don't have my phone on me right now) like someone else reported. I have to turn off the screen (which takes a few seconds after pushing the power button), and then when I turn it back on the phone works normally.
Another detail I found though is that even though the display "freezes", it still accepts input. If the screen freezes, and then I press the home button, when I turn the screen off and then back on, I'll be on my home screen. Not in the app that I had running. Same with the other cap buttons, keyboard, on-screen buttons. If it was an issue with the proximity sensor, I would think the screen would just turn off and not accept input, right?
The ROM isn't at fault here, it is a hardware issue of the sensor getting dust in it. Simple as that.
Yeah, it's not Rom related. It's definitely a hardware issue and if your still under warranty I would take action ASAP. My replacement should be here tomorrow so crossing my fingers its problem free.

Well it may not be ROM related, sure. But I don't think it's a physical problem with the hardware either. luis, you said yourself when you restored back to Venom your 'sensor is working normally' and you had no hiccups. I didn't have the problem under CleanROM DE either.
Maybe the problem is in dmeadow's kernel. It is beta after all

It's happening on Venom for me now. Only difference is I can hit power button to get my screen back.

Ah, damn. Alright, maybe it was just an unfortunate coincidence that the timing for when this started happening matched up with when I started flashing the newer ROMs/kernels.
Different ROMs detect it differently. It IS a hardware issue.
Found out how to disable the sensor completely. Testing it out now. So far so good.
Edit: Sensor disabled and sticks after reboot. If anyone with sensor issues wants this mod, pm me. I want someone else to test this out.

The proximity sensor in this phone is a problem. Mine wasn't working at all, so I got a replacement. Got it and set it up yesterday and this one works....kinda. It works mostly correctly in bright light..outdoors, in an office, etc. It doesn't work correctly in low light...at night, in my house, etc. However, I can make it work temporarily by rubbing my thumb across the top of the phone over the Verizon logo for a few seconds. That will make it work for between 10 seconds and a minute or so. It seems to be IR/heat related, as even in bright light it sometimes needs help. I think I might just going to disable this one and deal with it.

Yeah, these sensors are horrible. Its not a show stopper, but it does suck to have these issues with a device we paid good money for.
Sent from my Xoom using xda app-developers app
Question to those who have done it, how far do you have to tear down the device to get to the sensors? Are they attached to the motherboard or are they in the display? The guides and videos I've seen revolved around replacing the display/digitizer, and I haven't been able to tell exactly where the sensors live.
Sorry luis! I went to sleep between my post and your post so didn't test last night. I'll flash it right now and get back to you on whether my display freezes anymore while I'm out today.
---------- Post added at 10:40 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:26 AM ----------
I had my first freeze up already. I checked with the Android Sensor Box app and the proximity sensor is still registering values (0 cm if I cover it, or 9 cm if I don't, no in between).
