[Q] I used Heimdall for a phone and accidentall replaced Win8 Touch Driver. Help? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

As the title says. I used Heimdall, and then Zadiag, listed all devices. It defaulted to touchscreen and I accidentally hit install driver, which replaced my Windows 8.1 Touchscreen Driver. My touchscreen no longer works, and I cannot figure out how to fix it. Zadiag does not have an uninstall option. Any recommendations?
I have an Acer Aspire V7-582PG.

Seems like Synaptics touchpad isn't working either. I did install the drivers from the Acer website but they either fail or exit before even starting.

I did the same mistake too. I'm running windows 10 on Dell inspiron 7548. Any suggesstions to get the touch screen activated ?

Got is resolved by following the below steps:
1. Used the zadig.exe to replace my touchscreen driver with libusbk. [This is just to easily identify it in the device manager list. Not needed if you can identify it yourself]
2. Open Device Manager and find the LibusbK option in the list.
3. It should display Touchscreen under it. Select and Disable it.
4. Now select "Uninstall Driver". [It is important to Disable it before Uninstalling]
5. Go to Action menu from the top and select - "Scan for Hardware changes". This will auto detect the Touchscreen and use the actual driver for it.
6. After a refresh, the Touchscreen option should be displayed under the Human Interface Devices list as - HID Compliant Touchscreen.
At this point, your touchscreen should be working. Mine did. Cheers ! :good:

Prime and Windows 7 64Bit Can't pair via bluetooth

Hi,
I've tried to pair my TP via bluetooth to my Windows 7 64Bit machine and two of the drivers failed to installed.
I am wondering if anybody out there successfully paired the prime with a windows 7 64 bit machine.
I have attached a screenshot.
I have a Windows 7 64bit computer and was able to successfully pair the TF201 via bluetooth. I send files to and from each device and all were successful.

Actually your solution to your problem is simple, I was in the same situation few days ago, and i have managed to resolve the problem,
Please follow the steps below
Download the 'Windows Mobile Device Center' ( current version is 6.1 ) which you can download it from http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/en-us/downloads/microsoft/device-center-download.mspx
this works for both Vista and Windows 7. I've tried it on both.
- Install the downloaded software but it may not look like it worked on Windows 7 PCs. Vista automatically configured the settings on the bluetooth devices but for those who have Windows 7, here are the things you should do:
- Go to 'Device Manager' from 'Control Panel' -Or- just right-click on Computer Icon and choose 'Properties' and then click on 'Device Manager'.
- You'll see an 'Unknown Device' named 'Bluetooth Peripheral Device'
- Right-Click it and click on "Update Driver Software" -Or- anyway you find it easy to bring up the Update driver window.
- Click "Browse My Computer
for Driver Software" button.
- Click "Let Me Pick from a List of Device Drivers on my computer".
- Select 'Bluetooth Radio' from the list if it asked you to select and then in the next window, it will show a list of drivers with Company Names in one list and Drivers in another. In the Company List choose 'Microsoft Corporation', not only Microsoft.
- From the drivers list there may be one or more drivers with the name "Windows Mobile-Based Device Support" with different driver versions. Select one or the latest.
- Ignore any warnings and keep pressing next and then Finish at last. If all goes well, the last screen will show the message that device driver is successfully installed.
Now, after manually updating the driver for your bluetooth device, in 'Device Manager' when you click on 'Bluetooth Radios', it should display one more item which will say 'Windows Mobile-based device support'.
There are few more things that you want to pay attention to. If you have already added the device in your 'bluetooth device list' that didn't work, then remove the device and add it again. After you add it, you might need to restart the computer if it gave you a connection problem error message.
Every PCs that had Windows 7 and Vista worked after installing this software and I hope it will work for you too.

Tech Faded, before I opened this thread I found the same troubleshooting you suggested with your reply and after giving it a try it did not work for me, it is why I decided to go live on XDA, but thank you for your time a quick response.

Problem solved (own troubleshooting)
I have pasted what I have to performed in order to fix my Bluetooth connection.
I hope it helps other users with similar problems. Maybe it can be done with fewer steps but this is exactly what I did...
Step 1
Removed the Bluetooth drivers from Windows 7 Device Manager and restarted laptop. Note: Uninstalled drivers (with the "delete driver" option).
Step 2
Unpaired all already paired devices (external BT GPS and Pioneer BT head unit) from the transformer prime.
Step 3
Restart laptop and restart T Prime
Step 4
Pair the Prime to my laptop. The process went smooth and as you can see on the attached screenshot of the paired results, the two 'Bluetooth Peripheral Device' with the X I did get previously to my troubleshooting did not show up this time.
After all these steps I was able to connect successfully.
I have also attached a screenshot of my T Prime successfully connected via BT to my laptop.

I apologize for posting the 32bit version. Also, great work on your problem solving skills I am assuming that the peripherals belonged to another device which as you suggest you removed from device manager.

Cannot connect to PC

Anybody else got problems with connecting to the PC with the USB cable?
What "problems" are you having?
The Windows Explorer does not start, though there is the sound when connecting the USB. Tried uninstalling the driver and letting the system reinstall upon connecting, but still cannot see Nexus 9 in Windows explorer. In Linux get the the notification and clicking on the "open with File Manager" gives a quick error message - too quick to read. So I am wondering if anyone got this problem??

I updated my SDK files, but that didn't seem to work either. It does show up as a camera when I change from MTP, so I just started sideloading apps, files, and books to the picture folder, then using a file explorer to move them to the correct folder.

Mine was able to be detected at my work computer (windows 2000 in MTP mode), but it shows up as "Android" in Explorer instead of a drive letter like I'm used to with my phone.
Same for me. Only ptp working. Google USB ADB drivers instaled

You'll never get it to show up as a driver letter. Android gave up on mass storage a couple of versions ago.

If you are on W8.1 then you may have the "ACER Composite ADB Interface" - A Microsoft upgrade fault.
A search for "ACER Composite ADB Interface remove error delete" should give plenty of hits. Here's the first post from http://forums.androidcentral.com/google-nexus-7-tablet-2012/362325-nexus-7-not-recognized-computer-2.html :
Would you happen to know if any Acer drivers are installed on your computer? Here recently there was a Windows Update that installed the wrong driver and made it so that I had the exact same problems as you're having. Here's how I fixed it.
Go To> Control Panel>Hardware and Devices>Device Manager. In Device manager look for something along the lines of "ACER Composite ADB Interface", at least in my case I had the wrong ADB interface installed. You'll know if you have the wrong drivers if you go to Devices and Printers and right click your Nexus 7 and go to it's properties. It should be under the hardware tab where it lists it. If it doesn't just say Nexus 7 then follow these instructions. Once you find it in the Device Manager (once again in my case it was the ACER Composite ADB Interface causing the issue) right click and and uninstall it. There should be a dialogue box that pops up right after which will ask you if you want to delete the drivers. Check this box and proceed with the uninstall. After successfully uninstalling the drivers plug in or unlplug and plug back in your Nexus 7. It should show up now with the correct drivers installed.
Thanks, but I am on Windows 7. Driver is ClockworkMod Ver 7.0.0.1 dated 2012-08-27, which Windows reports as up to date (?). Works for PTP but not MTP.
I have had problems with other devices including the nexus 5 and nexus 10 to connect over mtp. Previously i used the nexus root toolkit which has some wizard to guide you to install proper drivers for mtp and adb. The toolkit is yet to support nexus 9 but you can still use the wizard to uninstall the old drivers and reinstall correct ones
Updating sdk. Uninstall and installing again driver did the trick for me
SORTED!! (sort of) Updated sdk and uninstalled and installed the driver again, but it did not do the trick for me. Gave up on Win7.
Instead had a go on XP. Initially everything the same. Noticed two choices of compatible hardware given: "Google Nexus ADB Interface" (the one I had installed already) and "USB Composite Device". Tried the latter one, and yes it did install. In the device manager it turns up as "Portable Device/Nexus 9" (and not as "Android Phone/Google Nexus ADB Interface" as before).
In Windows Explorer it is shown as "Nexus 9/Internal storage" with all the directories, and actually when inserting the USB I do get auto start. By the way, was having the USB debugging disabled. The driver is Microsoft dated 2006-02-22 version 5.2.5326.4762 - which is not what I would have expected. But it works!
Will try to get something similar to work on Windows 7
SORTED! Yes also Win 7 - and it was easy. Uninstalled the driver, plugged in the USB and it installed! Also got the auto start to choose action. It now turns up as "Portable Devices/Nexus 9" in the device manager and as "Nexus 9/Internal storage/etc" in Windows Explorer. The driver is now Microsoft ver 6.1.7600.16385 dated 2006-06-21. Strange. As long as it is working!

N9 isn't recognized by Windows 7 pc

Hi, I'm new to the N9, have had the tablet about a week. I have tried connecting it to my windows 7 Pc and the N9 isn't recognized. I have tried all the basics, all drivers are current, set tablet to mtp, and not found. I have connected to a friend's Windows 10 PC and the N9 is found immediately. My N9 is a wifi only device, non rooted. I have 2 other Android devices that my W7 PC finds with no issue. Anyone else experience this, and or have any suggestions on how to fix this issue ? Not looking to root at this point. Any help and guidance would be greatly appreciated
I think there are many threads about this problem. Nexus Root Toolkit has a driver installation feature.
If you were starting from scratch I'd delete any unknown "tablet/usb" devices in Device Manager - look for the also delete drivers option.

In some cases, you need to enable ADB on your N9 before plugging it into your PC (Settings -> Developer Options -> Android Debugging).

Thank you for your help, I had already tried all of this, but tried once more in case a step was missed. Every other Android device I have, or had never gave me an issue like this. The 2 android phones I have connect to pc without a problem, I am at a loss, lol.
When deleting drivers, should I have deleted all drivers for all devices, or just the ones installed from N9 ? Thanks again for your help

A basic one. I don't think it's relevant until you have a connection. Do you know that the N9 USB connection defaults to "charging only" and you need to pull down the notification menu to enable MTP to see the device contents

There is a "connected" y/n column. I'm not certain that this works as expected, I can connect a tablet and despite an F5 refresh or a restart of the program it will stay a "No"
Look at the VendorId column AFAIK everything Google Nexus related has an ID of "18D1"
Have tried to establish what, if anything pops up in Device Manager when you plug in the N9 so you can disable it? Nirsoft have a program http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/device_manager_view.html that gives a table view of all devices - no clicking to expand trees

Thank you for your help I greatly appreciated it. After trying pretty much everything, I decided to see if the ruu's for my two phones would run on W10. They did, so I then proceeded to update my W7 to W10. N9 communicates perfectly now with my PC. Thank you

Drivers for a clean windows install

You can install a clean copy of windows in your Yoga Book using the ISO from Microsoft and these drivers.
You will need a USB OTG cable and a USB hub to connect a keyboard, a mouse and a USB drive to your Yoga Book.
You will need three USB drives. One for creating a rcovery drive (16GB), one for windows Installation (8GB), and one to hold the drivers.
- Make a recovery pen drive before you modify anything. This will allow you to restore the device to its factory state, in case you need to return it or are not happy with the results of your modifications:

To install windows, put in the USB with the ISO, boot the Yoga with VOLUME UP + POWER button, choose boot manager and select USB UEFI.
Follow the windows 10 installation to the end, you'll get a couple of black screens, just wait. The display will be rotated, use the USB mouse to navigate.
When windows is installed, use the Drivers USB, extract everything and start an Administrator command line ("windows key" + "X", "m"). Go to the folder where you extracted the drivers and run "startmodule" for each driver. Start with the Intel Cherry trail drivers.
I haven't installed the LenovoShutDownHelper yet. I don't know what it does.
You'll have to go into the display settings and rotate it to 270º when the Intel graphics drivers are installed.
For me, everything works except the haptic feedback for the keyboard. If you find ahow to make it work, please, let me know.
I don't know how to install the Dolby programs. Any idea?

We need unlocked bootloader, however, I think its not developed yet.
Anyway,when bootloader unlocked, android users can install windows because of dproldan's contribution!
I'm going mad because of android's humble multitasking interface! I really really hope Nougat releases ASAP!

hahaha lol same here! really need nougat so that at the very least i can multitask with 2 apps. Any instructions on how to create our own bootloader? Or does that require root?

Sorry. I don't know... I tried to unlock but, at that time, I recognized there is no custom rom or bios and I can't build that. So I gave up to trying...
I believe some hero will lead us...T^T

I'd like to know how to install the Dolby programs as well.
That said, to enable the haptic feedback you have to either fix the startmodule.cmd in the immersion vibrator driver folder or manually install it. The .cmd file doesn't set the paths right for the files it needs to copy.
To manually install it:
copy to %windir%\system32 :

touchsensed.exe
(maybe vcruntime140.dll... on my windows 10 it already existed)
then make the folder touchsensed (still in system32, so after it will be %windir%\system32\touchsensed)
copy to this new folder %windir%\system32\touchsensed :

then open an admin command prompt and do:

thank you. I reinstalled everything again and did that. Haptic is working now.
Dolby also installed by itself. Probably has something to do with the order of installation. i did the cherry trail drivers first and then the rest, with a few reboots between them.
How did you get the product key or did you have to get a new one?
In my case, Windows activated itself if I connected to WiFi just after the language selection display. I guess the key is stored in the BIOS/UEFI/Mother board.
I don't have a Microsoft account.

Just loaded a fresh install of Win 10 and it activated on its own. Thanks for the info.
Has anyone got the Automatic System update to work? On Lenovo's website I click 'Start Scan' -> Install the Lenovo Support Bridge -> Then it starts to scan but never gets past 0%

i have a trouble to clean install my windows yoga book (YB1-91F). Basically i have done all the preparation, driver, windows on usb. Even i make sure i've created bootable usb flashdrive. But everytime i go to boot menu there are no UEFI usb option, there are only greyed boot EFI and boot windows option. i have try to load from advance startup option inside the windows, but in the end it only show "the system doesn't have boot to EFI". so it kind of stuck for me. Even if i choose reset my pc, it always says there are trouble reseting my pc, no change were made.
i want to reset my yoga book, because i've been infected by some malware, and i think my internal storage and windows registry is somewhat junked.
Ups, sorry... i've solved the problem. Eventually I use MBR for the bootable flashdisk where it shoud GPT format... now, i'm clean installing my yoga book. Crossing finger, hope all goin well.

you should start command prompt as an administrator.
- click start
- type cmd
- right click cmd, select run as administrator
- continue to each driver folder
- run startmodule.cmd

you should type command completely with the extension... it's should be "startmodule.cmd" inside each folder of the driver
When I installed Windows 10 again, Windows Update did most of the hard work with installing drivers. So as long as you can get an internet connection by installing the wireless drivers (try using the Device Manager > Search for drivers on this PC) you should be good.

Hi, can anyone help, please?
Windows 11 automatically installs two drivers (which conflict) for my JLab Go Air ear buds. Have installed GPEDIT, enabled restrictions, and entered the Hardware ID device ID values in installation restrictions, but the unwanted driver still installs automatically.
Is there another way to prevent automatic driver installation?
