HTC Boombass - HTC One Max

just got my HTC Boombass today,
its sound is great but have to turn the volume up
or you can only hear the Boomsound clearly instead of the Boombass.

wooow looks nice
are you going to make a review about it later or is it just a bragging post ?

clearly a bragging post. :good:
someone in this forum also has the boom bass and has spoken about it already as well...
i have had one for a couple weeks now but didnt bother to speak about it because there are several vids on the internet about it... one more wont make any difference..
it does sound great with soundcloud. i have a grippy kind of case (waiting for the batter case i pre-ordered) so it stays put on the slide out floor thingy..
having the audio at max setting is the best way to get the most bang for the sound.
the crossover point could be a bit lower because you can hear some voice tones in the bass speaker.
overall its a great option to have tunes on the fly... go pick one up!

What's the case/bumper you're using?

Greetings!
I am actually considering picking up one of these puppies!
I have my One Max encased in an OtterBox Defender case. It's rather thick... do you think it will fit on the stand or will it hang over the edge?
Thanks!

it will most likely hang over the edge.
i have the htc battery flip case and it will not fit on the boombass stand, so i just flip the phone landscape and place it right in front of the htc boombass and dont use the slide out drawer for the boom bass. same difference...

Some can tell me if the sound is really good before buying it ? I tried this one with friends, very good sound, but the price is more expensive than Boombass ...

no way my friend the Bose is perfect in every product it has fantastic audio quality
i tried it

Ok thanks, i order now BoomBass ...

:laugh:great order one for me and send it to me in Egypt :good:

I received boombass, really a great sound, but i've also bought an audio bluetooth receiver connected to my audio system to party with my friends !

I got a BoomBass and I really like it. Very decent sound. The only thing I don't like about it is that I can't really play with my phone while it's on, because it sounds better when it's set with the BoomBass instead of in my hands.
But it's a pretty slick device. To turn it on and pair it with your phone you just hold you phone over the top, and it activates via NFC. Kinda cool.

Is the bluetooth Jabra BT3030 headphone good?

I have been thinking about getting the Jabra BT3030 headphones for a few weeks now. Does anyone else here have any opinions on it?
Also, does anyone know of a bluetooth headset (for example like this jabra one) that can not only switch to next/previous track but also switch to next/previous ALBUM? I don't think the Jabra BT3030 dog tag can do that. Does anyone know?
Here is a picture of it.
And here is the user manual (pdf).

Danke! I liked the "bike riding" comment.
I'm really tempted to buy it.
well, i had it and sold it.
weak bt reception, and buttons where weak also.
used it with my former TYTN II and was a little dissapointed.
the idea and design are supercool tho, sorry that it not works as it looks.

Thanks. Good to hear your opinion. What do you use now?
got it but don't use it much - i tend to have the unit beneath my shirt so it's not on display, but that means if people call they can't hear you. Maybe i should give it another proper try - definitely a potentially good thing for a bike ride tho - can keep the mobile in a saddle pocket.
I have one. The stock headphones are awful and there is an annoying buzz between tracks. On a value for money scale I would give them about 8/10 though as they are not very expensive in the bigger picture of things.
If you want something pretty tough for wearing whilst your active it is fine. If you want something to listen to high quality audio through then forget them.
And I do not know of a single Bluetooth headset that will let you skip albums. But then you can always use Microsoft Voice Command for that.
Had it for a few days, then returned it to shop. As someone else said, the headphones are terrible, but you can change em. BT worked fine, but audio-booster doesn't work with BT, so you're stuck with "standard" settings(unless someone knows of an "audio-booster"-type program that works with BT?).
I use a similar headset for my Touch HD.

I have one.
I've tested about 10 models from otger brands before i've got them. Didn't found something simalar -
GREAT sound (it have integrated DSP proc), nice look, ability to connect ANY 3.5mm-jack headphones, really works as a remote (tested with CorePlayer, Pocket Music, s2p, WMPlayer).

Yeah, I'm happy with mine too. I ended up getting them a few months ago and I have no complaints. In my opinion, the sound is good - especially for the price range. The only thing that is lame is the plastic clip - it hardly holds on to anything and it seems it could break really easily. But I can live with that flaw.

Modded Sennheiser CX200

Fitted the ear buds from my 2 day old CX200,s onto the stock HTC mic/earphones cable.
It was very easy to do and a great improvement over the standard phones.
I could never get the standard phones to stay in my ear properly and were very uncomfortable (small ears I guess).
Anyway here is the pic,s , let them do the talking

Great job! I was just going about to do this but at the plug end. I was going to connect the extUSB plug to my current headphones, but this is a lot better.
I will never doubt the reasons for the hacks people do...some just do it for the hell of it and I am all for that.
But....I have to ask: Why?
3n1 adapter...and no re-wireing.
But excellently cool that you did it...although it is not really clear what you did. Did you take the tiny ear speakers and put them in the stock headphone cases or...?

I have the 3in1 adapter, but I think it is to bulky when travelling on the train and I can not use the stock speakers as they keep falling out of my ear and they are uncomfortable for me.
What I have done, is remove the stock speakers from the stock cable and then fitted Sennheiser cx200(these are the in-ear type) speaker to the stock cable.
So now I have the best of both worlds, stock cable with mic, dont have to use bulky 3in1 adapter when out n about and better fit/sound quality for my ears.
did you get improved audio quality as well? or was it bottlenecked by the HTC wireing?

Well I am not sure about the wiring, I was talking about CX200 ear-buds sounding much better on the stock HTC cable, than the stock HTC earphones on the stock HTC cable.
I could hardly hear any low end sounds with the stock HTC earphones.
To me both cables sound very similar, maybe the HTC cable possibly not being just as loud, could be the in-line volume control or volume not being set right when being encoded to mp3.
The CX200 sound ok for budget range and my ears would not be the best for judging sound quality(years of extremely loud music - raves 1989 - 1995) and a bit of tinnitus.
Aha. Cool idea.
I have the same problem...small ears and the earphones are for some giant head.
I use some over ear buds with the 3in1 adapter.
Getting the bluetooth "dogtag" adapter in the mail shortly.

I personally enjoy them Though I'm switching to Beats Solo soon

Beats are good at bass but not at higher sound but this earphones can do both.
You will be amazed by the sound so just buy them

These are the ones that come bundled with the X10, aren't they? I threw them away because they don't fit properly in my ear (they're not in-ear) and were rather uncomfortable.. just like the ones that come with the iPhone/iPod.
I got myself a Skullcandy one, pretty awesome sound quality..and not all that expensive either.

Yeah, I was pretty annoyed tho.. I was expecting in-ear ones... I find earphones like this one extremely uncomfortable to use
they're crap and they constantly fall out of your ears.. I stick to my sennheiser IE8
They don't stick that well ni my eras, but when i twist them a bit, they stay in.
The sound i sreally good! I'm amazed at the bass they produce.
They can withstand xLoud en Beats (custom ROMs).
I also tried the earpieces tha come with the x10 mini pro.
Those ar true in-ear, but they sound horrible. It isn't comparible.
Bass reflex are the best for X10

better than mw600?
for our x10 i can recommend to all the "Stereo Headset MH650"
they're comfortable and sounds rly nice

Help Me Find Earphones: Cheap, Mic, Inline Control

I know I'm asking for a lot but I also want over the ear (not over the head DJ) or clip style. I read the headphone threads here in their entirety but nothing addressed my specific needs. I don't need anything fancy and to give you an idea, here's what I've been using for years now:

As you can see I'm not an audiophile when it comes to headphones. I bought my first pair of these about a dozen years ago and bought them for use under a motorcycle helmet. The look like they would be uncomfortable but surprisingly they are more comfortable under a helmet than ear buds which are smaller.
I digress.
I want something that is similar in design to these but I want an inline mic and music controls. I would like to be able to answer/end calls, play/pause music and skip forward & backwards. What I'm finding is that lots of these earphones won't control the Android phones fully. It sounds like some include free apps that will bring full functionality to the Android OS. For instance, these Philips earphones say they will do all sorts of snazzy things with the free app but the question is do these apps that manufacturers offer allow you to keep whatever music playing app you use? For instance, I use Google Music to stream all my music as my primary player so will this app work in union with this app? I would rather spend less but if these work as advertised I don't mind spending that much to get something that does what I need it to do. Here is another option for about 1/3 the price as those Philips but I don't know if they will work on the Android as it lists iPhone and Blackberry and I know some have issues.
I know someone will try to recommend more expensive headphones but if it's strictly for sound quality, I really don't care to spend more money to be honest. Look what I've been happy with for the past decade or so. Just looking for the cheapest corded headphones that meet my needs here.
Thanks!
I bought a Roman Bluetooth headphone from amazon, its $35. I thought it was cheap for what it can do and sounds !

Thanks for the heads up. I bought some Beats Tours at Best Buy today to get me through my trip I leave for in a few hours. Naturally $150 is WAY more than I planned to spend so I also ordered some knock-off Beats headphones that were around what you told me to search for. I plan to compare them side by side when they arrive and if the real headphones are 10x better I will keep them. This isn't likely but if the difference really is that big I'll keep them. So far I'm underwhelmed but haven't had too much of a chance to use them. I basically plugged them in long enough to install the free app 'Jays Headset' to configure it. Now, even though I only have the one button I have FULL controls of my phone and it appears to work flawlessly with limited testing I did. I may revisit this thread later on but for now I think I've got what I need. As I said in the OP I wanted clip style so if I decide I hate these in-ear style (possible) I will start fresh trying to find some more clip over the ear style.

[Q] XZU Speaker

Hello.
Does the speaker so bad and weak like they say in all reviews?
Can someone maybe could upload a youtube video of the speaker playing some music?
Thank you!
Google 'mobilegeeks YouTube'.
Nicole and Sacha have done some great comparison videos
It is by far the weakest aspect of the phone.
Let's just say if you had this phone in your pocket and you werent in a very quite place, you will NOT hear it ring.
I was at a mall with average number of crowd, nothing too loud, typical mall noise and I completely missed the ring and only noticed via the vibration.
Bluetooth earphone is a must or like me, don't use it as your daily driver phone and more of a tablet/media consumption device.
Speaker low? I own this phone and speakers are louder than my HTC Sensation XE, Nexus 7 and Asus transformer prime. Was really surprise by it at first use as people said it was poor. Or maybe it is poor for people who like to hear music in public place?

According to GSM Arena's test, the Ultra's speaker can be compared to the Lumia 920 and iPhone 5's speaker. Check under "Ringing phone, dB".

Wondering about the same thing - the speaker volume is noticeably lower than what I was used to on my previous Note 2. Hope i a.m not stuck with a defective unit! I too have missed a few calls simply because i could not hear the ring.
Btw, the Note 2 had custom ROMs which allowed you to boost the speaker volume (medium boost or high). Would be great if we could install a patch that did the same on the XZU
This phone only has one mono speaker and as it's waterproof, it's behind a skin to keep the water out, so yes, it is lower than stuff like the note 2. Every single review I read and saw warned of this.
Sent from my GT-N7000 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Yeah, it's technically a loud speaker. But it's just poorly placed, recessed, and water proofed. For hearing the ring tone, it's fine. But listening to music or playing videos, it's definitely one of the big negatives for me.
In fact, if I don't place my hand around the speaker to reflect sound, it would almost be unusable in certain situations. Which is unfortunate given its large video friendly screen.
Bottom line, either don't have high expectations for the speaker and/or go the external speaker route.

Have you tried phonecalls WHILE bathing? You'll think the mediocre volume when the speaker is dry is a godsend :screwy:
