[Q] 5 star battery or zerolemon for x10 - XPERIA X10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hello
I am using xperia x10 and needed an external battery. Which one should I use? personally I like zerolemon. But what about 5star america? heard many negative comment about it. Please someone recommend me!! :/

I've been using a Sony CycleEnergy CP-ELS
Takes a while to charge, but will replenish a 1500mAh battery.
I have one sitting around in my car, for those odd occasions.
It was a shopping reward product, so not a considered 'paid' purchase, but seems to do the job and is small enough to store phone and battery in a pocket while charging if need be.

Is there an extended battery for the mini pro?

Despite all the tricks to help preserve battery, I still find the performance of y standard 930 mAh battery very bad. Is there an extended (reliabl) battery for rhis phone and where can I get it?
Just gonna drop my experience in. It seems the battery lasts for about a day and a half. Which can be seen as over three days (depends what time you charge it on the first day) instead of using the normal homescreen, download helix launcher from the market, it helps alot
Sent from my U20i using XDA App
One day and a half compared to my brothers Samsung's week is really a disgrace.
I already have another home screen, just got to like it, so not changing it at the moment.
I have contacted Seidio as they make extended batterys for other phones. Would not hurt if oter people did that too, so please, those who care about this problem, contact them and ask them.
I bought on e-bay a 1450mAh battery made by Jin Dian. A drastic improvement.
Didi anybody else try this? I got it but I'm not convinced it's better.
Seeing you all really hungry for power, it's just feel right to warn you guys. Never ever use cheap small portable charger that you spot either on a shop or ebay no matter how desperate you are. If you use it, best scenario, it only ruin your battery, or in the worse (like me) it ruin the phone. Both case has the same end result, the battery discharging way to quickly even when Idle.
How did it ruin your phone?
I would like to know. thanks
As I'm a long distance cyclist, I already own the Biologic ReeCharge. Anything that can be charged by usb can also be charged by that tool. I can use both my bicycle dynomo hub and the electricity network at home to charge the ReeCharge. Witch then is able to charge my phone. It's a kind of extra battery. Never have had any problems with that and I'm always glad on a cycle trip that I can keep my gadgets (most important gps) charged
http://www.dahon.com/accessories/2010/biologic-reecharge
Well, I don't know the technical details but it fried my batteries (that's right, more than one) before I realized it was the portable charger that caused and even after stop using it, it's still recurring (therefore, the phone is at fault) After asking my friend who used the same type charger once. They all said that it ruined their phones and told me if I want to have a portable charger, go for the lithium one that sony Ericsson's is selling.
hi,
i'm using varta charger type 57048:
http://www.amazon.de/Varta-Professi...=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=ce-de&qid=1291062768&sr=8-3
and i don't want to miss it on longer journeys. the usb-out function i would say is nearly as fast as the normal charger. one akku pack is enough for about 2 charges. if you are on a journey and not able to charge the akkus you can buy normal batteries. they give about 1 charge.
i have experiences with other chargers and phones and i would say this thing works really good because the usb-port of the charger turns off when batteries haven't enough voltage. this prevents your x10 battery from damage because wrong charging.

My x10a mini pro came with 970 mAh battery, not 930. Battery life is about a day and 1/2. I use USB car charger in the car on needed basis only. Hopefully USB car charger doesn't fry the battery.

[Q] [Advice?] Best high capacity battery for x10MiniPro? (BST-38)

Looking to buy a high capacity battery for my x10 mini pro.
Maybe 1500-2500 mah?
I know there are alot of duds out there...
I'm looking at these right now:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/GOLD-BST-38-B...otn=15&po=LCA&ps=63&clkid=7085760772320994471
http://www.dinodirect.com/sony-ericsson-s500-business-battery-1500mah-deji.html?cur=EUR
Any links/advice would be great!
All i'm going to say is, Non sony-ericsson battery may cause damage to your device, use it carefully and give us a feedback if it works, or don't.
I bough one for my old Nokia 8310 and it worked perfectly.
I bought the DEJI BST-38 from dinodirect, it comes in a very posh box but it doesnt last any longer than the stock battery.
Ok, well I bought two batteries online and I'm waiting for them to arrive in the coming days...
I don't have the details of each at hand but I hope to test them for you when I get them.

I'd be interested in your results. I just got my x10 mini pro and have already noticed that the battery doesn't last long. Same as my old Nokia n95 and before that a SE p800... eventually both these phones got decent higher power batteries available... I'll wait till I get a few reports. Maybe someone could build a thicker back case and a bigger battery?
What we must know is : is it a lithium-ion or lithium-polymer battery
Because, Li-Ion last longer, but they get warm quickly
Li-Polymer are quite the same, but they stay cold.
Oh... The battery performance are quite the same between those two
the best phone ever. 6 days stand by time. i charge it once a week with gold bst-38 battery of 1920mah which i bought from ebay. also i upgraded it to froyo 2.2 from xda developers and now this beauty is flying.

Hmmm last time I checked there was nothing on ebay for mini/pro battery!
Can u give all the statistics of the battery?
how could a battery of the same size provide almost three times the capacity of the stock one? maybe it's because it uses the new Li-bull**** technology

Sure, here it is:
Made in Japan
2 year warranty
Utra-high capacity battery
Maximises time between charges
Delivers superior performance
Robust & durable battery
Direct battery replacement
Stable and safe to use
No memory effect
Uses Li-poly technology
Capacity: 2430mAh
Its not your li-ion battery crap that overheats and causes the mini to reboot, its li-poly.
With reports of 1930mh lasting for 6 days with one charge, im guessing 2430mah could last 8 - 10 days =)

does it work for mini or just for mini pro?
I just googled a little about gold batteries from Japan. samsunggalaxysforums.com/archive/index.php/t-3856.html?
found a thread where samsung galaxy user tried gold battery and it lasted much more than stock. If i remember in a heavy usage user managed to get abou 3 hours with stock and more than 5 hours with gold battery. It seems that original batteries cost about 20 usd for piece.
I will try to buy one and test it because the one of my mini pro doesn't last more thant 4 hours with heavy use (3g umts 24/7 online, push for twitter, gmail, listening to music in streaming. or watching videos from the sd. and the battery in my phone is of 970 mAh Li-ion and it overheat fast .w.

Wow 4 hours thats bad!
Then again mine is probably that bad too...the heaviest I use it is having 3G/wifi on and chatting on facebook or whatsapp, perhaps whilst listening to music.
And yes, the battery drops at something like 1% every 3 minutes or so...its ridiculous!
Which is why I hardly ever use it heavily whilst im away from home - I'm scared it'll go flat while I'm out!
I'm seriously considering getting an Iphone as my next phone now, because android phones in general do not last a normal day under heavy use...whilst my friends with their Iphone 4s constantly have 3G on, with their large screen on nearly full brightness, constantly checking facebook and chatting over the internet...yet their batteries last the day quite easily....
if you will buy from ebay than look there cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200532787453&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT#ht_3017wt_1251&clk_rvr_id=248408890642

Did you got your battery already?
Hi guys! My Gold 2430 mHa battery arrived about a week ago. I needed some tests before I could give my opinion.
I expected more than a 100% improvement from this battery compared to the 950 mHa standard battery, the facts say that I can get only from 30 to 60% improvement. At the evening, whereas I had 10-20% of charge, now I still have 30-40%.
I think it's possible that the phone stop charging too soon, when it get to a given level of charge, so I ordered an external charger (I hope it will arrive soon) to make more tests.
I am not sure, but it seems that the new battery full charges faster than the old one.
A notice: the battery is a bit longer than the stock one. I had to slice a little of plastic with a knife (less than a millimetre) to let it fit into the phone.

2600mAh battery extension for X10

Since i can't get the battery to last long enough even with better roms and so on i am now looking on battery extensions. Battery bigger than 1500mAh that is the original one. Iv seen "mugen" has some 1800mAh but they are quite expensive and not that much of a difference only 20% increase.
But iv come across some 2600mAh battery extensions this gives an amazing 73,3% increase in power. The only problem i see is that they are bigger.
im looking at this one:
http://www.batteryupgrade.com/shopB...rtmentProductId/85344458/shopGroupId/79274206
But have anyone used something like this? how is it getting your phone this fat? is it uncomftable? to heavy? how much thicker does it actually become? 0.5cm? 1cm?
Thanks for all the answers.
I use a 2600 battery. It makes the phone about the size of a Tytn 2, a small price to pay IMHO!
Sent from my X10i using XDA Premium App
I woulndn't buy it. It doesn't have the same voltage as stock: 3.7v. So this battery actually will not last as the mAh suggest. looks cheappy choppy too and too much $$ in my opinion
I have one and use one if I know I'm not going to be in my car (or near an outlet) for a long time. It's pretty bulky. I didn't think I'd mind the bulk, but it DOES make the phone ugly as hell.
With my regular battery, I can usually go from about 6am to 4pm before desperately needing a charge. With the 2600mah one, I can go until bedtime (about 10-11pm). Not a massive increase, but an important one.
Still, it's ugly as hell. I wish they tapered it in more near the camera area. So much unnecessary bulk at the top.
does anyone of you have pictures with this kind of battery on the phone?
some pics of your phones with the battery would be nice
Mugen Power? They have a great battery for X10. Lots of reviews at xperiax10(dot)net blog.
It looks fatty!
Ok. I have another idea il buy 1 more original battery and a battery docking for it. So when one is used up il just put in the other one, and set the other for charge. Should not be too big of a problem. I'm normally not out for more than 9 hours at a time. If I know I'm going out for more I could just bring the other battery with me.
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
got a bit cold on the idea of getting the phone ugly so i now went for 1 new battery and one docking station for the battery. So that i can always have a battery ready to use
you may need to change the language on the site from norwegian to english.
I think it's the best way, because unplug/replug by usb can damage the plug...it happens to me
i dont think i would ever wanna have a phone that big of its size
I use the big ones, and desktop charger! PERFECT!

Has anyone tried the 2600mAh battery yet?
so fat but it looks good
i think that size should only help if u are going to be out of home for a couple days o something like that.. i charge my x10 everyday and it works for me... X everyday i use my mp3 player, wifi for browsing. BT, camera, etc. but it's a good idea for travelling.

I just carry around an extra battery when I know I'm going to be away from a plug. Stock battery lasts around 16 hours for me (wifi on all day, music, browsing, games) and that's good enough for me.

it's a big battery...make the phone bigger but it worth if the life of that battery it is abot 2-3 day because i charged my phone every day with te stock one
Did you see the picture on Ebay? It claims that it is the same size as the OEM battery so you DO NOT need to change the back cover. You use the OEM cover
Hi,
up to now tests showed that no alternate batteries were an improvement if they fit in the standard case. Google for the name of the battery perhaps you find something.
Are you on stock firmware? If yes a modified firmware might be a good idea. With froyo I reached more then 70 hours with low usage. The new GB roms will reach this also in a few weeks I think.
Ralf
Thanks for the reply, I did install the latest 2.3.3 Wolfbreaks ROM...
1. Maybe thats why the battery life is short...
2. I did just get this phone...heavy use...may cause the short battery life.
3. My excitement for the phone is another reason battery life is short
Interesting find.
I never used the particular one you found on Ebay, but I have another regular-sized one from China claiming it has 2200mAh capacity.
I hate to burst your bubble, but I have in the past bought and tried many, many replacement batteries for SE, Moto, HTC and other handsets and not single one of them clearly exceeded the capacity of OEM ones. Sure those sellers say theirs have 2200mAh or 2300mAh compared to OEM's 1500mAh they seem a lot better, but in realty they are about the same as the OEM at best. The one I have (they advertised as 2200mAh) for my X10 seems a little bit better than OEM. The 2300mAh one on Ebay, at least, doesn't try to copy the look of OEM, and (from my experience) it usually is a good sign of they are better than self-claimed really cheap OEMs you can find everywhere in Ebay. In the end, long battery life is not a forte of android. It's not like we have symbian devices.
As far as I know, "Mugen" replacement battery seems truly better than OEMs, though I haven't tried them personally. They are not cheap, you know.

Symbian battery is PATHETIC. I still have My N97Mini and my N8, alongside my HTC Sensation and SE X10, all heavily tweaked [you can't even tweak symbian that much] and I'll tell you now, its pathetic. Laggy like ****, but the battery wont even last 30 hours in minor usage, and not even 4 hours in hardout. My x10 can last like 4 days in the minimal usage and 10 hours in hardout, but I still carry one extra battery around =]

i've been using the 3200 mAh battery from ebay as my x10 battery for the past 2 months or so. It's really good if you don't mind the bulk, i can play psx games on my phone for about 8 hours and be left with 60% of my battery. if i don't use my phone much (just texting occasionally) it lasts about 2-4 days. So far no signs of overheating/blowing up .
(edit: used to be running on demand governor, recently switched to smartass. Battery seems to be doing even better)

it's a 3200 battery, i'll try pming you the link, it won't let me post it.
If it sounds too incredible, it probably is...
Give it a thought: If the manufacturer of the original batteries would be able to squeeze a few extra hundreds milliamps into the battery without risking the battery security, don't you think they would have from the beginning?
There is always one or more downsides with these "better" batteries:
1: They're fake. in fact, it's only a 1700 mAh battery with a 2200 mAh sticker on it. Placebo warning here! Those reviews from other "customers"? Problably the manufacturer themselves, or payed "customers".
2: They're bigger, so they do need a different cover. These battery claims can be true, more capacity = larger battery. Something has to give in. (In this case: Size), right?
These bigger batteries are okay, as bigger battery means more capacity. You have to give up the slim size here.
3: They removed some or all security features in order to allow "overcharging". That way they can squeeze in a few more mAh in the battery.
The risk of overheating is very real here. There have been cases where such "no security" batteries have exploded, and in some cases even catching fire... while still in the owners pocket. Ouch! That gotta hurt alot.
Here is a video on overcharging a Lithium Ion battery, but it isn't far from what can happen to a Lithium Polymer battery without the security:

(Q) Battery advice needed

Hi guys. I'm planning to buy a new battery. I have original 1650mah S2 battery but I don't satisfied with it. I'm not an average user. So my phone is always in my hand. I listen to music, play games, chatting, talking etc. In summary I need longer battery life. Any advice please guys?
U can buy the original 2000mAh from samsung
just a girl addicted to android
You could try out battery cases. They form an outer case around your phone and have inbuilt batteries ranging from 2000-3500 mAh.
In effect you will be carrying 2 batteries, one in your phone and one around your phone
You can find em on ebay.

Hi guys. I'm planning to buy a new battery. I have original 1650mah S2 battery but I don't satisfied with it. I'm not an average user. So my phone is always in my hand. I listen to music, play games, chatting, talking etc. In summary I need longer battery life. Any advice please guys?

Get the 1900mah battery pack off eBay. It comes with two batteries and a charger for $25can. I effectively have a 1900mah in my phone, one in my pocket and the stock one in my car just in case

Good purchase! What kinda battery life do you get now? Any heating issues?
