IMEI problem - Galaxy Ace S5830i Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello to all of you 'the valuabe and intelligent' xda members.....
Today i am requesting some of your advice......
Friends every time i install any custom rom on my galaxy ace 5830i my IMEI is undetectable to settings and hence resulting in no sms and voice calls whereas internet is working fine.
In settings IMEI is unknown and *#06# has IMEI blank but apps like GalaxyToolbox can detect IMEI and hence showing the correct one .
So basically i wanted to ask you that is there is something in /system responsible for that may be build.prop. I really dont know the reason hope you can help me.
And also i am on stock kernel

Flash a custom kernel first and flash the new Rom ..
And Build.prop has nothing to do with IMEI number ..
Happy flashing

Samsung Captivate I897 IMEI Issue

Hi Friends,
i have Samsung Captivate SGH I897. two months back it started showing error " Data Network Not available" and i was unable to make any call.
So i did some research over internet and installed Gingerbread 2.3.3 version. now the message shown is "Mobile Network Not available" when i try to make a call. i found some links over internet about the root cause of this issue is IMEI is reset to default 004999010640000/07. I also could not restore the backup of nv_data.bin files as the backup file size is also zero bytes. Kindly help me out in restoring my IMEI number .
Regards,
Ravi
I have the same problem.

Samsung Galaxy Ace s5830i Sim-problem!!

Hi im newbie here and im in trouble, so lets get to the point. I have Samsung galaxy ace s5830i. I have rooted it and installed Clockworkmod recovery. Before this problem I could make calls, send sms etc... But then few days after rooting i couldnt make calls. It just said that "mobile network is not available"
When i put sim-card to other phone, i could make calls and send sms. I connected phone to pc with usb-cable via Kies, Kies said something that "sim-card is not set, the data transfer cannot continue". I have searched everywhere but no...
I hope that u will answer as fast as possible.
Btw sry my bad english
EDIT: I forgot to say that i dont see my IMEI at all when i dial #*06#. And what I have read, I think its all about losing that EFS folder what makes that cant call, send sms etc etc...
Can u see ur IMEI or baseband version when u click About phone in settings?
Sent from my GT-S5660 using xda premium
I can se baseband version(S5830iXXLK1) but IMEI is unknown
Now i have unrooted and installed stock recovery(i think so), but still "mobile network is not available"... seems that the last option is take it to maintenance (im not sure is that the right word but..)
Im so frustraited...
I though that i will get advices and help in here but seems not... Guys pls help me, i dont know what to do...
my friend has got one of these. we both are on the same network He can't sent texts whilst i can from my S2. Its not a network problem.
May be a software issue needs looking at.

i know that in this forum there are some topics about this problem, but it is very difficult for me find them...
help me please...i haven't assistance...

Look for the serial, if it starts with 00000 or something like that, you nees to use Ariza Patch.

If it helps...
...my wife had this problem last week. Phone was saying that it was not registered on Network. Looked around on the net, checked settings on phone and found that if you turn the phone off for a few minutes and back on, it re-registered to the network. Very basic, don't know why it did it, but it's now OK

This is the problem: imei code is ok but there is "not registered on network"
About the other solution, i'm going to try it but i don't think it will work for me..
Is there a final solution? It is impossible that we can't solve the problem..
Thank you all..

I mistakenly flashed the 4.2.2 leak today and am having the same problem now.
After reading this forum, it looks like the phone has changed its IMEI after using ODIN. I now have an IMEI that starts with 0049. Help anyone please?

This worked for me after flashing S4 Revolution ROM V5, thank you i've got my IMEI back.

[Q] IMEI number missing after flashing ROM

Disclaimer: I have searched the forums for this answer and found multiple answers that didn't work for me. However, if I missed a topic (because there were plenty of them) that had the answer and you link it to me, I apologise in advance and thank you dearly!
Device: Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830i
ROM: Jelly Bean V.3.0 ported for S5830i
I downloaded the ROM and made a back up using CWM as well as having backed up my IMEI number using Toolbox
I cleared the cache and cleared data
Installed ROM, nothing went wrong
IMEI number was not there so couldn't make calls
Couldn't connect to my network because of this
Here's what I've done to try and fix this
Restored the IMEI file using Toolbox, but the IMEI is still blank when I dial *#06#
Used a Hex-Editor to manually input the IMEI but it was showing in the editor.
And that's where I'm stuck. Can anyone help me please?
Edit: I seem to have ticked the 'question' part of the new topic forum and flagged this as a quesiton. This was a mistake on my part. I apologise :S
You might be having the same issue I had while trying to restore my IMEI Toolbox backup.
Check the thread I posted with a solution that helped me -

I'm having exactly the same problem, using Simplicity V5 ROM. Did you find a solution? Like you I did a Galaxy Toolbox backup, it says it has been restored but on reboot there is still no IMEI. Seriously confused

[Q] Imei on Back sticker is Different from Imei when dialled *#06# ??

here when i dial *#06# on my keypad it gets the following code 004999010640000/01
when i see my back cover it is showing like this 353743/05/116418/2
what makes it different??
yestereday i installed pardus rom and after getting error ""not registered on network"" i reverted back to omega..still the same error..(any one know the solution please tell me )
and im wondering why these two imei's are different in no of digits..first one is having about(17 digits without '/' n 18 with '/') second one(back sticker) having a total of 15 digits without '/' and 18 with '/'
Actually iam getting an error not registered on network..searched every where for solution but didnt find it.. at last checked everything and found these imei's are different what to do??? :crying:

I just flashed TEMASEK's CM 10.2 v14 now, and lost my network connection.
I still can connect to wifi though.
IMEI number is still there.
Baseband - I9300BUEMD1
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Did you read the above, follow the links or try the solution?
My apologies, I was a little nervous.
From what I now understood, all i have to do is flash the attached modem (modem_RIL_CWM_I9300DDEMG2.zip) , correct ?
Edit:
Weird, suddenly the signal is back. Any possible explanations?
