[Q] Safe to Freeze - Kindle Fire HDX 7" & 8.9" Q&A, Help & Troubleshoot

I don't see a list of apps that are safe to freeze yet. If such a thread already exists within this forum then a moderator can remove this and I will continue looking. If not I would like to help those who are stock, or on a future stock rom compile a list of apps that are safe to freeze.

[Q] Removing The Apps That Comes With The Phone?

Hi There! I wonder how I can remove all the ****ty apps that comes with phone(CA Gold Rush, Peggle , Geotags, etc.
Because I don't use them, and they just take space on the internal memory which is kinda sad.
Can someone link a guide or a tutorial on how to delete them, and maybe a list of which apps you can delete and which you cannot.
Regards Paul
There are lots of links in this thread (stickied in this forum!)

Short answer - root - install Titanium Backup - uninistall stuff. Be wary that uninstalling the wrong apps can break your phone, so check the instructions in the above link first!

[Q] [ ICS ] Apps safe to remove

I've updated to ICS via Mobile Odin, I tried Polish LPQ and now I'm on 3UK which I'm very happy with and I'll use it as my daily.
I've removed all the normal bloatware via Titanium, eg Weather/News/Games apps.
Is there a list of Apps/Services that are safe to remove from SGS2 ICS and an explination of what those apps do, eg MapServicesSamsung or the 2 Software updates ?
Thank you
Dmonty
This thread might be of help.
There's this big topic; at the end you'll find some ICS-specific discussions.
Thanks for the link guys, I'll have a look through there. Originally I wrote that off as I thought it was for GB..
Cheers

I don't think you'll find too many apps in ICS that weren't in GB. Obviously the framework is different, but you only need to be especially careful with removing system apps (as Vaxxi said, there's a bit on ICS in that thread).
Frankly, I wouldn't remove anything when it's just as easy to freeze apps & have exactly the same effect as removing them, but with the safety of simply unfreezing them if you run into trouble. Obviously if you remove a system app & you run into problems you're in strife unless you have a backup.
Just my opinion FWIW tho.

Stopping apps from starting at boot in stock ROM

I have a few Samsung devices still on Stock.
I want to be able to set some apps not to start on boot. I'm finding some apps starting at boot that really don't need to be (an archiving/unarchiving app for one).
I can't find a way in the device stock ROM.
Most threads listing app managers are old.
I don't want to Freeze or Disable them. I want them on the device. I use them. I just want to stop them auto-starting, at boot or otherwise.
Can someone suggest a good, non-bloatware, non-invasive app startup manager that is worth it? The main device in question does not have ROOT.
Thanks

pvg100 palm phone - apps don't start on boot (android 8.1, rooted)

i have installed some apps that come with feature to auto-start on boot, but they would fail to do so. using third party apps that manage startup / autostart apps would see my apps marked as "Boot" but they won't be running upon boot. i guess there is some aggressive power-saving / battery-saving scripts inside since palm only has 800mah battery.
note that i have already gone through the usual stuff - not allowing battery optimization, ensuring there's no setting that stops it from running. there's no allow background or autostart settings in this os. I used SD Maid to make sure all receivers are enabled. i also uninstalled a system app called "AutoKill" through adb hoping that was what's causing the problem, but no , the apps still don't run on boot. i even tried to use Automate and MacroDroid to automate the running of my apps, but both automation apps failed to even run on boot themselves, so - still stuck.
anyway, i am looking for any help in the following possible approaches:
1. Any command I can run in adb (since i have root) to forcefully make my app run on boot? e.g. through crontab?
2. Possible for me to piggyback one of those apps that can run on boot (e.g. a Virtual Keyboard input app, Magisk, Home Launcher)?
3. Is there other custom ROM i can install for pvg100 that would avoid this issue? i googled - didn't find any
any help is appreciated!
