It is an AOSP (Android Open Source Project) 4.4.x ROM with a simple aim... add a few useful features to AOSP without deviating too much.
Each new release will have a few new features or updates & bug fixes to existing features. Keeping each release small will allow for testing the ROM thoroughly and increase the frequency of releases.
Requirements:
1. Unlocked bootloader
2. Custom recovery like TWRP 2.6.3.1+ or CWM 6.0.4.3+
Instructions:
1. Wipe data/factory reset if you are moving from another ROM
2. Wipe cache/dalvik cache for every update
3. Flash the ROM using a custom recovery
4. [Optional] Flash Google Apps Pack using a custom recovery. You can choose to install any other Android 4.4 compliant Google Apps Pack
Download:
ThunderKat_grouper-KOT49H-20140111 (Dev-Host)
ThunderKat_grouper-KOT49H-20140111 (MediaFire)
Google Apps Pack:
1. Built from de-odexed 4.4.2 KOT49H Nexus factory image
2. Latest Play Store apps as of 2013/12/15
3. Includes Google Home (from the Nexus 5) & emoji-enabled Google Keyboard
Download:

Tips & Tricks:
Launcher replacements enhance your customisation capabilities. I recommend one of these amazing launcher replacement:
1. Action Launcher Pro by Chris Lacy
2. Apex Launcher by Android Does
3. Nova Launcher by TeslaCoil Software
Adware is often intrusive. If you wish to block adware and advertisements, I recommend AdAway by Dominik Schürmann. You can get newer unofficial user-compiled builds here.
Need to know what app or service is eating your battery? Try BetterBatteryStats by Sven Knispel
Having Issues?
If you are having issues, I will try my best to help you. But you need to provide me with some information so that I can narrow down the possible cause of the issue. What would be useful is logcats, dmesg logs & last_kmsg logs. Here's a nice wiki about how to get logs

ART is not working with 4.8 tool chain. I don't know if / when this will be fixed. That is #3 in the Known Issues section of the OP.

ROM is updated with some new features. Go check it out. Change log is in post #2. Happy Holidays!

I can't seem to find the advanced ROM settings. They're not showing up in the settings app.

looks like ART is working on the N10 version

I will posting an update shortly with ART working

A
Alarm
• How can I disable alarm icon?
You can enable/disable alarm icon in statusbar in Clock > Settings.
You can enable/disable next alarm information on cLock widget in RootBox Settings > cLock > Clock and alarm.
B
Battery
• How can I save my battery? (Without flashing anything or undervolt kernel)
You can check all apps/functions which sync in background like GPS, Wlan or Social accounts (If not needed = disable)
Set the Brightness down (Settings > Display > Brightness)
Use dark (best black) theme & wallpaper & lockscreenwallpaper
C
cLock & Clock
• How can I place cLock on lockscreen?
Look into Lockscreen section below.
• Where do I configure cLock?
RootBox Settings > cLock. There you can configure Clock + Weather + Calendar settings. Note that all these settings apply to both homescreen and lockscreen cLock widget.
• How can I change color of cLock / Clock widget?
As first, it is important to note, that there are two different widgets with the same digital clock layout:
Digital clock is classic digital clock widget in a new design. It is configured by Settings of the Clock app. There you can beside other settings change color of clock / date / alarm and it will apply to the widget.
cLock is brand new CM widget combining digital clock in a new design, weather forecast and calendar events. It is configured in RootBox Settings > cLock where you change font colors.
• The localization and weather isn't working
Uninstall cClock and install in again from here.
D
DPI
• How can I customize DPI?
For now there is no overall system DPI change possibility, so that u have to use the 'Settings > Hybrid settings'.
Here you should choose the stock PA-settings and then swipe to the right - this should open the PA-menu on the left.
Now choose ‘Interface’ and set at all dpi-regulators on your DPI you want to have.
Most apps also get this configuration, but some like Phone, Calculator or Chrome, have to been set manually.
That for change from ‘Interface’ to ‘Apps’ and choose the same DPI for all bright apps you can see at the top.
If you did this, you should have overall the same DPI.
If u want to have different DPI’s per app, just run free in the ‘Apps’-section.
• My device isn’t supported in playstore after changing DPI
You have to use the MultiDPI-Playstore here from URL="http://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=4534385"] “MyLifeRocks10”[/URL]
=> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1839871
Data
• I can't find the Data toggle!?
It's renamed to "signal".
E
Expanded Desktop
• Can I use Expanded desktop on this ROM?
Yes. Enable it in RootBox Settings and switch it on or off in Power menu.
F
FC (any app)
• After update or some system changes (e.g. DPI change), my app XY is ending with FC (Forced Close) repeatidly.
Anytime you have some app ending with FC, try:
Settings > Apps > ALL > XY and click Clear data and try the app again.
Reboot to recovery > advanced > fix permissions > reboot and try the app again.
Reboot to recovery > wipe cache and advanced > wipe dalvik cache + after reboot repeat step 1 and try the app again.
Try FULL WIPE installation of the ROM.

-- select gapps.zip and flash it
Recovery > wipe cache partition
Recovery > advanced > wipe dalvik cache
Reboot and you are done!
G
GAPPS
• Do I have to flash GAPPS with ROM?
Generally musst have the Gapps package!
But u only have to flash it once, because since v4.0 (also some nightlies before), the backup function got enabled.
This will save the Gapps, so that a “dirty update*” with new Rom.zip is enough.
*If u don’t know what this means, check ‘Option 1’ under the point F->Flashing (without step 4 here)
• What version of GAPPS should I download?
It's always recommended to use the newest Gapps
Latest Gapps you also can find here:
♦Dev-Host♦
♦AndroidFileHost♦
But you also can have a look on the unofficial Gapps from BaNkS!, which gives you different versions.

H
HALO
How to configure HALO?
There are three places where you configure HALO behavior:
1. Settings > RootBox Settings > HALO Settings where you configure basic HALO Notifications behavior
2. Settings > Apps > [Any App options] where you enable / disable concrete app Blacklist / Whitelist entry
3. Paranoid Android HALO))) App from Play Store where you configure apps for persistent notifications in so called floating mode.
What are options in Settings > RootBox Settings > HALO Settings?
- HALO policy allows you to choose between Blacklist (default) or Whitelist policy. In Blacklist mode are notifications from all app ON by default and you can explicitly configure some of them not to show HALO notifications by entering them to Blacklist. In Whitelist mode are notifications from all app OFF by default and you can explicitly configure some of them to show HALO notifications by entering them to Whitelist.
- Hide HALO after activity (disabled by default) allows you (if enabled) to hide HALO circle shortly after notification appears.
- Reverse HALO gestures changes behavior of dragging / tapping on HALO circle. Better to play with it or watch some youtube videos than describe this... Basics are: If enabled (default), then dragging is for tasking and double-tap swipe allows you to position circle or delete / deactivate it. If disabled, functions are reversed.
How to Blacklist / Whitelist apps?
Go to Settings > Apps > [Any App options] and there right under "Show notifications" checkbox you find either "Blacklist HALO notifications" or "Whitelist HALO notifications" according to policy set in HALO policy options.
What can I do using Paranoid Android HALO))) App?
Add some apps like Email, Gmail, Messaging, etc. using "+" button, press ">" button and you will see... You will have persistent notification in floating mode for those chosen apps. Try to drag HALO circle and you will get it.
How can I disable / deactivate HALO? (I don't want to see the circle on my screen)
Depending on your "Reverse HALO gestures" option:
- If enabled (default), then try quickly double-tap & swipe the circle. By this you will be able to position the circle or deactivate it by moving it to "trash".
- If disabled, then you can directly drag the circle. By this you will be able to position the circle or deactivate it by moving it to "trash".
How can I enable it again?
When HALO is deactivated, you can see special button in upper line of Notification drawer, that will activate it.
How can I uninstall HALO completely?
You can't. It is integral part of the ROM. You can only choose not to use it.
What if I cannot install .apk?
Wait for the next Nightly/Stable build. This will be solved. If you can't wait, then disable HALO, install what you need and enable it again.
Where can I find further information?
Take a look at this video by Oode.
I
Incremental download/update
• What is the incremental download
This download allows all devices on the the direct lower version (for example the nightly 20130301) to update only the new and necessary files from newest nightly (for example the 20130302). This means a smaller file, a faster download and a faster flash!
This is anyway an experimental feature, which isn't available for all updates and can still bring some bugs with it!
• How I do the incremental update
That for you have to look at the 'settings > update manager', search the newest nightly and check the point directly below the “normal” download. (it is only shown if u are on the directly below version!)
Download and flash it. (File is smaller than from "normal" download)
L
Lockscreen
• How do I get shortcuts/targets on my lockscreen?
RootBox Settings > Lockscreen Shortcuts or RootBox Settings > Lockscreen Shortcuts/Targets.
• How do I put cLock on my lockscreen instead of standard clock?
You have to drag clock on lockscreen. It will allow you to remove it. Then you can add cLock or any other widget instead. Note that cLock has only one setting that applies to homescreen and lockscreen.
• How do I make cLock show my Weather and Calendar on lockscreen?
Rom Control > Lockscreen > Minimize Lockscreen Challenge.
• How do I unlock faster when Minimize Lockscreen Challenge is enabled?
Rom Control > Lockscreen > Enable longpress to unlock.
N
NavBar
• How do I change NavBar Color?
Rom Control > Navigation Bar > Navigation Bar color.
• How do I enable NavBar transparency?
Rom Control > General UI > Transparency settings. See this post from descarao81 if you have problems with transparency using Nova or Apex Launcher.
Nightlies
• What is Nightly? Should I flash Nightly or latest Stable version?
There is no major difference. Nightlies are builds which are built almost “every day” for everyone to try the latest sources/features merged to RootBox.
For all users who don’t want to flash “every day” and want have less bugs as possible, please just use the stable releases.
P
Pie
• How do I enable Pie?
You activate it via “settings>RootBox settings>Pie controls”
• How do I change the Color of Pie?
Settings > Hybrid settings > Interface.
• How make I Pie open faster
Just set ‘quick’ in “settings>RootBox>Pie controls>Pie style”
S
Statusbar
• How do I enable Statusbar transparency?
Rom Control > General UI > Transparency settings. See this post from descarao81 if you have problems with transparency using Nova or Apex Launcher.
• How do I change the Statusbar behaviour?
Rom Control > General UI > Statusbar behaviour.
Here u have different options if/how the statusbar is/becomes visible for you.
• What means the fast toggle for the Statusbar Toggles?
This will allow you to swipe from the right or left side of your statusbar (depending on what you choose) and it will go to your quick settings bypassing any notifications.
• Everytime after reboot I got a “Low Storage” Message!?
It’s a problem which appears when the app ‘Viber’ is installed. Just move ‘Viber’ to sd card.
That for go to “settings>apps>Viber”
U
USB
• I’m not able to connect my device as Mass-Storage to PC
Try deleting data from media storage. That for go to “settings>apps>all>media storage”

♦ Known issues ♦
In general, RootBox has AOKP issues as it is based on AOKP and some CM issues as it uses some features from CM and CM kernel as well. This list is not complete list of AOKP / CM / RootBox issues. It is a list of known issues that are discussed by RootBox users within development threads or support thread.
GPS locking problems [workaround: try this] - reported on 20130422 and confirmed on current builds / not all users are hit by this issue (maybe it is location specific are other way random occurring issue)
SMS gestures not working properly - always only 1st gesture works, multiple gestures not working [no workaround] - confirmed on latest Nightlies
Sound disturbances, mostly dropouts using BT headset or BT car kit [no workaround] - confirmed on 3.9.1 & 4.x & latest Nightlies / not all users are hit by this issue
Some users report freezes and other issues when playing games [no confirmed workaround known / setup with Dorimanx is working for some users] - not confirmed / not easy to reproduce / no relevant logs so far
Bluetooth DSP Manager settings not working (Speaker and Headset are OK) [workaround: use Speaker settings, it also influence Bluetooth audio output]- confirmed on 3.8 and further
When ending call via Bluetooth, phone freezes for several (about 3 - 5) seconds [workaround: be patient, it is really only 3 - 5 sec.] - confirmed on 3.9 and further
Custom ringtone setting can randomly disappear [workaround: put ringtone into /system/media/audio/ringtones (thanks to Computoncio for the tip)] - confirmed on 3.9.1 / issue status unknown for latest Nightlies
Developer Options > Simulate secondary display will cause boot loop [workaround: reflash the ROM or reset the option in database (thanks to Mr.H-DK for the tip)] - confirmed on 3.8

Stock kernel
RootBox uses CM kernel from CyanogenMod as a stock kernel. This kernel is very stable and battery friendly and stock kernel is always recommended mainly for users that do not have special demands. Please, remember that RootBox is multi-device ROM and it needs multi-device kernel. Creator of this ROM even do not own S2 and he cannot support alternative kernels for this device in any way. Therefore stock kernel is only kernel with the official support from Bajee11.
Download
Thanks to hawkerpaul’s knowledge is Hannibal226 providing stock kernels for selected builds here and here.
Non-Stock kernels
There are many RootBox users with S2 devices using non-stock kernels. Most popular and compatible are Dorimanx, KangBang and Siyah kernels.
Dorimanx
Dorimanx kernel is developed by Dorimanx (note that he is also RootBox user)
For current RootBox builds use 9.X branch
Changelogs, download links and other important info on development thread OP
Support, Q&A, discussion on non-development thread (Please, consider to ask there for support, if you have really kernel specific questions or issues, like STweaks, OC/UV, BLN, cron, etc.)
KangBang
KangBang is the kernet for AOSP based 4.2 ROMs.
It is based on CyanogenMod smdk4412 kernel, i.e. it is based on current stock kernel for i9100 & n7000.
It is modded to provide more schedulers, governors, BLN and other features.
It is available with CWM or TWRP recovery.
Siyah
Genuine Siyah kernel is developed by Elite developer gokhanmoral. There is also non-development thread for Siyah. This original version of Siyah is currently not compatible with current RootBox releases, as gokhanmoral is working on other things according to his priorities.
Siyah v4/5 patched with vsync + mali available here: [Kernel][JellyBean] ♦ Siyah vsync v4/5 ♦ [Mali patched][gokhanmoral,mcm811,Rush85]

Hey, anyone is using swiftkey and having also the problem that the keyboard i just usuable with 160dpi? I changed android system to 200, but can't use swiftkey because not all letters are visible (and with 160dpi it's really small...). Stock keyboard is okay, but when i longpress a letter not all options are visible (when i longpress . then i can't see the ? for example). Tried nearly all dpi/resolution with swiftkey, but can't get it to be visible without changing dpi to 160...
(Just a suggestion: maybe someone is posting some screenshots and which apps he changed in per-app settings, because i guess there will be many question like "how to make it look like dual panel; what is a good dpi and resolution for lockscreen" etc.)

I had the same problem. So far only way I know how to cope with it is not to change System UI DPI in Per-App settings. Instead I changed my overall system DPI to 200 and I am tuning DPI for some special apps then. See Help-Index for details on changing DPI.
Here are the tiny issues ive encountered with latest nightly. (these might have been reported before, if so i am very sorry i havent kept track of this rom since the 4.2.1 updates)
1. Cant send MMS (this is probably normal cause i cannot modify APNs)
2. Cannot disable vibration on pattern unlock
3. Cannot use shortcuts with pattern unlock like in 3.2
4. My clock/weather lockscreen widget is too big (see picture)
5. I cannot manage to have status bar completly transparent when im on desktop, it is only fully transparent when im in lockscreen. Maybe due to Nova Launcher?

1. Yep APN, this seems to be the reason then.
2. I don't have any vibration on pattern lock. Do u have the pattern visible? (test to make it unvisble then)
3. Feature not implemented yet.
4. Seems to be the pattern block. Scroll it down (so that it's not shown) and the clock etc should be completely visible.
5. Tested and same here. With using a theme and Stock theme. So seems to be a small bug. Thanks for report.

thanks for you help.
1. Thanks for confirmation
2. My pattern is unvisible, also tried visible, i still have vibration even if the box is unchecked =(
3. Thanks
4. Clock is fine when i bring down the pattern but on version 3.5 it would show correctly without having to bring the pattern down =( Its as if the weather fonts got bigger in the new version and i see the top of the weather widget. Before i wouldnt see remainings of the weather, i would see the time and the pattern. If i wanted to see the weather widget i would bring down the pattern.
5. No problemo, glad to see im not the only one =) I updated my post, the bar is completly transparent only on lockscreen but changes to blueish on desktop

2. Did u check already all lockscreen settings?
4. Yep it's not an optimal solution. I'll check this later on and maybe there is something u can do or maybe not so that we've to wait what bajee says.

EDIT:
For me it's working fine on 220 dpi -Screenshot (only calendar entries aren't to see without scroll down the pattern).
So maybe u check the dpi settings once so that we can see if it's related to this.

Tried it, no chance. You changed systemui and android-system to 220 in per-app settings or just swiftkey... ?
Even when i change dpi with texdroider to 200, i can't change swiftkey or stock keyboard back to 240 with per-app settings without getting the problems again. Whatever, it's not the biggest problem, was just used to change everything as i wanted with PA without having such problems.

You are not referring to this, are you? If yes, as I posted down the video the solution is: press home button and the installed launchers will appear to be chosen, choose Nova (Apex or whatecer) after clicking "Always".
I'm in the latest nightly (20130125) and my status bar is 100% transparent using Nova.

My usual setting when I change with "per-app" is DPI=180, resolution 800x1024, Tablet. Letters are maybe a bit small but I think it's the best aspect.

I'm in the latest nightly (20130125) and my status bar is 100% transparent using Nova.
Click to collapse
So I'm using Nova as standard and it's NOT 100% transparent.
And the request of standard browser only appears if u didn't set a standard one til yet, install a new launcher or wipe data of launcher.
So u want to tell us to delete data of launcher?

Installation Instruction (MUST READ before flashing ROM)
1.Download ROM from link shown below in download.
2.You must check MD5 of downloaded ROM and it must be match with provided in download section. Always recommended to check MD5 on device itself as sometimes file can be corrupted while transferring from PC to device.
3.You must have CWM/TWRP recovery on device.
4.To flash ROM root is not required but if you have never backup your EFS then I strongly recommend to root your device first (If not already) then make EFS backup before flashing ROM. Though it's not required to make EFS backup every time you flash ROM but follow developer instruction and if it is recommended with particular version then you must backup again.
You can use this tool OR can get from Play store to backup EFS.
5.ROM flashing
Copy your downloaded file to device then reboot device to recovery (must be CWM/TWRP)
Select wipe data (Factory reset)
Select to Install file and navigate to your ROM file
Flash
6.It may take 5-7 min to boot keep patience.
7.READ Post #3 for Bug / Fix discussion.
Download N910F Dr.Ketan Custom ROM V2
Before flashing ROM you must read Installation Instruction above and Post #3 for Important instructions and known bugs/Fix
N910F NK4 Dr.Ketan Custom ROM V2
.
Important Instructions.
When ROM Installation finish you will get flash message on screen when Dr.Ketan utility about to start some fixing for critical bugs which can't be prefixed. So while you setting up your phone you will get request from Dr.Ketan utility for SuperSU permission. When you grant su permission utility will fix bug and immediately your device will reboot. So just after finishing setup Don't do anything before Utility fix the bugs. Also to note that any FIX/Add On available here only advised to flash only after utility finish the fixing.
MenuKey :
System default Menukey is replaced for menu option and recent panel is assign to status bar Rt side corner with virtual button. This vertual button can be disable from settings- Display - Recent button on statusbar. Long pressing Menu key you will get pullup choice (for your desired application) If you want to use Long pressing Menu key to kill application you have to enable it from settings-Dispaly-Kill Applicaion.
If you want stock Note4 setup for MenuKey - Recent panel there is option in ROm Control app from drawer for MenuKey reassign. You requires to reboot device to apply changes. If you assign MenuKey for recent application, you WON'T be able to use Long Pressing menu pullup/Kill app option.
S-Finder and Quick connect
Is occupying too much space in extended notification panel so I have moved it to quick panel Toggles. Though AddOn will have option to restore it.
Tab Settings (drawer) and Extra Settings (in utility)
are just hidden features brought to surface and don't expect to work completely also to make sure that if any of feature in these two manu are not working have little chance to fix. Simply use if any of it you like and working or just ignore.
Bug ans Fix
Launcher Fix - Flash from recovery

I have been using this rom for about 12 hours now and there hasn't been any issues. Quick dpi settings and the aosp toggles look fantastic.
Great work Dr.Ketan
I installed over v1.1 for anyone using that on the n910F. Stock kernel included works perfectly.

I think 1.1 means he might be on my V1.1 for N910G
Apologies. Indeed I do mean v1.1 for the n910g by Dr. Ketan. I think it's safe to say it doesn't need a wide if your on a n910F coming from v1.1 rom that was made for N910g.
I hope that makes sense.
Thanks Dr Ketan , will try it tonight .
Tricky for me because I am more a stock look kind of person , BUT if I can change things to stock with some tweaks and settings I will go and use this ROM as my daily!
Thanks again!

I second that! Amazing ROM. Dr. Ketan, in case we need call recording on demand (not automatic, for all calls), can we install the Wanam Xposed module? Should we expect any conflicts with the mods already present in your ROM if we activate some of the mods by Wanam?

ChangeLog L2
N910F BOD2 Dr.Ketan Custom ROM L2
All the features of L1 reamin same.
ChangeLog
-Based on latest built N910FXXU1BOD2_N910FFTM1BOD1_N910FXXU1BOC3
-No more required to set superSU default access to grant. Updated with lattest SuperSU 2.49 (Thanks @Chainfire )
-Memory meter/cleaner with On/Off Switch (Extra settings) It will show uses RAM percentage near brightness control bar. You can change color of background with Extra setting - Other mods - color - Memory color
-Pre modded for Multi DPI S-View cover but still you needs to use Multi DPI Installer and DPI changer from here.
Battery Saving Tips :
What I manage to save battery is to prevent wastage rather than restrict some services. Here what I do suggest is
-As soon as you enter google account Click on google account again and select cancel Sync. Now select only option which you really need to sync. In my case I don't use gmail and backup by contacts with schedule titanium backup so other than Calendar I keep sync off for all except calendar. So do it according your needs.
-Use Dr.Ketan utilityfor Auto wifi and Auto Blutooth. Which auto disable wifi and BT if it remains disconnected for certain period of time, which is very battery hungry.
-Open wifi settings - advanced - uncheck 'Always scanning'
-If not require (usually we do need high accuracy while navigation only) turn location access to Power Saving. (long press location in Quick panel to access it)
-Open Settings - Permission manager - Location - Now look for applications mentioned under this tab and think really you needs to give location permission to all these app? If you find no location permission requires for any application just open and turn off location permission.
-Again Settings-Permission manager - Device
Now look each application and turn off Auto Run option if you think that application needs not to run at every boot. Here be careful and leave it as it if you are not sure what that app/service for what.
- Use debloating tool (carefully) from AddOn section below.
Installation Instruction
Installation Instruction (MUST READ before flashing ROM)
If you are already on lollipop ROM (by OTA/Flashing LP same base ROM with Odin) you need not to flash Bootloader and Modem and straightway follow instruction below
1.Download ROM from link shown below in download.
2.You must check MD5 of downloaded ROM and it must be match with provided in download section. Always recommended to check MD5 on device itself as sometimes file can be corrupted while transferring from PC to device.
3.You must have custom recovery on device.
Copy your downloaded file to device then reboot device to recovery
Select wipe data (Factory reset)
Select to Install file and navigate to your ROM file
Flash
6.It may take 8-9 min to boot keep patience.
7.READ Post #3 for Bug / Fix discussion.
If you are on Kitkat ROM and never flashed same based Lollipop ROM (Bootloader and Modem)follow Instructions below. below
Steps 1-5 remain same as above.
Now when at end of step 5 Flashing of ROM finish, Don't reboot device as it may not boot because of lacking lollipop BL and modem. Here you have to remove battery to switch off device
Now put device to download mode with Volume down+home+power (Important : don't reboot to download mode with option in recovery)
Download bootloader and modem and extract it to get tar.md5 file.
Flash extracted file with Odin PDA/AP tab.
Now Reboot device
Goodluck !

If device doesn't boot after flashing rom then you need it. On n910g bod2 there is must to flash same base bootloader and modem. Usually device just go to bootloop with vibration that highly suggest you needs to update bootloader.

3) Expert configuration
4) Configuration of some apps
Changelog:
V0.96
- Initial release
Reserved
Tutorials → 1) Debug data provider
*First of all you should check if the app that you want to configure is listed here: Tutorial 4: Configuration of some apps and you get the configuration.
With this tutorial you can check if the module is compatible with the selected media player app (we will configure Phonograph).
1) Go to the configuration section and enable the option “Debug notification”.
Also enable “Data provider”, save the new changes (press the fab button) and reboot your phone.
2) Go to Xposed installer – logs. You should see some lines that start with: “GpmNotificationSeekBar DebugDataProvider”.
You should find the line: “Package loaded: package_name” (if you can't see the line you have made the previous step wrong).
The line: “Mode A loaded!” is required (if you can't see it the module will not work).
The Mode B is an alternative way to get the current position of the media playing content.
The line “Broadcast received!” should appear when you finish the next step.
3) Open the media player app all and play some media content.
Go to the configuration section of the selected media app on the module and press the button “Debug data provider” 2 times faster:
You should see the following things:
- The playing media content should seek to the position 1:00 (one minute)
- The second time that you press the button you should receive the message “Current position and duration 1:00/duration”. The current position should be approximately one minute.
If you obtain the correct position, don't do the next step.
4) As you can see, with Phonograph the current position is incorrect. It says 0:09 and should be approximately one minute.
To fix this go to the advanced configuration and enable the option Get media info MODE_B.
Save the new changes, restart your phone and do again the step 3.
Now you should get the correct values.
Enable the MODE_B only if you get incorrect values when you press the button Debug data provider the second time.
Tutorials → 2) Debug layout name
*First of all you should check if the app that you want to configure is listed here: Tutorial 4: Configuration of some apps and you get the configuration.
With this tutorial we get the layout name of the compressed and expanded notifications (we will configure Phonograph).
The name is necessary to add the seek bar to the notification.
1) Go to the configuration section and enable the option “Debug notification”.
Also check “Layout name” and save the new configuration.
2) Close the media player app and dismiss the notification (if you have the media player app running).
Reopen the app and play some media content (the notification should be recreated).
3) Go to Xposed installer – logs. You should see some lines that start with: “GpmNotificationSeekBar DebugLayoutName”. We need the end of the LayoutName (the LayoutClass is not necessary).
Configuring Phonograph we obtain:
- /notification is the compressed layout name
- /notification_big is the expanded layout name
Generally, the expanded layout contains “big” and the compressed layout “small” or nothing.
The line “SeekBar added!” should appear when you finish the next step, and it means that the seekbar has been added to the notification.
4) Go to the configuration section of the selected media app and add the layout names.
Save the new changes, restart the media player app and the new changes should be applied.
Tutorials → 3) Expert configuration
Some apps use third party libraries to control playback of the audio/video files. If you know the class/method name you can make it compatible with this module.
Now we will configure Vlc (uses its own library called libvlc).
If you follow the steps of the tutorial “Debug data provider” the media content does not seek to the new position.
To make the app compatible open the module and go to the expert configuration.
Check the option custom data provider and set the next configuration:
- Fully qualified class name: org.videolan.libvlc.MediaPlayer
- Method name (seekTo): setTime
- Method name (getCurrentPosition): getTime
Apply changes, restart Vlc, play a media content and now should work.
Tutorials → 4) Configuration of some apps
Style of the configurations:

/name_of_the_expanded_layout

Thank you for this module.
Unfortunately, it does not work correctly with GoneMAD Music Player. Neither seekbar nor seekbar button are shown in the notification.
- GoneMAD Music Player: gonemad.gmmp
/notification_controls_simple_layout/notification_controls_simple_big_layout
I followed all your steps, your app does obtain the correct time position of 01:00 minute (sending the broadcast and all other things are working as they intend to do, even “SeekBar added!” is shown in the Xposed logs), but it is not working.
My device configuration:
OnePlus X
Android Open Kang Project (CM13-based)
Xposed v80 SDK23 arm
SuperSU
Are any further information required to help me?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
EDIT: It is working... partially.
So I changed the notification style of GoneMAD Music Player from "Always Expanded" to "Default", and now the seekbar button is showing up. But no matter what I try, it is not possible to get the seekbar button working on expanded notification view.
What I also noticed: the seekbar isn't updating in real time. It just stays at the current time position when it has been opened. When closing the seekbar and re-opening it again, it gets updated but will remain at the new time as well.
This is awesome.
Thanks for this great app...
But why not add by default the most used apps like (Google Play Music, YouTube... etc.)... I'm still trying to get it working with GPM with no luck.

Excelent report!
You have told me the steps and the details at each step.
That style of notification requires the option "Use the alternative layout" unchecked (like other players as PlayerPro).
You can change also the position and colors (to improve the visibility).
I have tested it with cm13 and works.
If now works, update your comment, could be useful for other users.
Cheers and thanks for the excellent report.
Module works great, made it fit perfectly in the expanded poweramp notification with custom layout.
And damn this app is beautiful!! One of the best material apps I know.

Tutorials, configuration of some apps. link
Read the gpm configuration.
You just should set the layout name (copy and paste)
/notification_template_material_media -> compressed
/notification_template_material_big_media -> expanded

Already done this and it's not working.
My idea is that you can pre-add your configuration to your app the make it more simple... and over time you can add settings for more apps.
Anyway I'll try with other apps and report back.
Could you make also a video of the tutorial???

I have managed to get it working on Google Play Music... I had a mistake last time
Now in expanded notification everything is OK except that we need an option to put the icon on the left side (for RTL languages)
In compressed notification the first time it works OK, but if I expand then unexpand the notification it will be all black.
EDIT: it happens exactly in this condition:
1- Press the seek bar button.
2- Try to seek the song and let the bar hide automatically and then I got it all black.
If I don't try to seek I would not have this problem
I can't see seek bar, is there something wrong???

According to post #8 it should be /notification_big_player instead of /notification_big_stock for expanded view in MusixMatch.

FAQ :
Q1. How to move apps to Internal Storage ?
Ans. Moving apps to Internal storage does not works on MIUI.
Q2. How to Turn ON flash light from Lock Screen ?
Ans.The lock screen on the MIUI V7 had a few extra functions than the standard unlocking and shortcuts. One of them is turning flashlight On directly from the lock screen. For that, while the screen is active but locked, you just need to long press the home button and the torch / flashlight turns on. It would not turn off until you prompt it although the screen would go blank in a few seconds.
Q3.How to Change the look of Multitasking / Recent Menu ?
Ans.By default, when you press the Recent key (the left bottom one), the recent apps show up, and it is just the App icon that is seen. But, you can make it look like the iOS multitasking screen where large thumbnails are shown, with the preview of what is going on in the app. You can change that by pinching out on the empty area in the multitasking screen. Pinching in / out is what changes the look, basically.
Q4.How to Enable or Change Notification Light Color ?
Ans.There is an option that allows you to change the change the notification light as well as turn it off completely. To do that you have to go to Additional Settings section, and tap on notification light. There you would find four option, first would allow you to switch ON or OFF the Pulse Notification light while other options allow you to change colors for notifications, calls, as well as messages. You can choose only 2 colors ( GREEN OR RED ), which will appear in the LED present just below the home button.
Q5.Facebook Messenger pop-up head does not appears , what to do ?
Ans.Go to Security icon on the homscreen > Permissions > Again Permissions > Open Messenger > Enable Display pop-up window.
You can follow the same method for other apps as well which have the feature of pop-up head notification.
Q8.My Screen Orientation takes longer time than usual ?
Ans.Download Advance Tools app, go to sensors ,you will find total 9 sensors with info, keep you device on horizontal & Steady surface & press reset button by selecting individual sensors...
