Hi all! L9 has no mechanical button(quick button LG L5II,L7II),but there is support.A virtual button can be useful for you.Make it simple:
Decompile lge-res.apk and LGSystemUI.apk.In lge-res.apk,in bools.xml(lge-res\res\values)set "true" in line and compile:
Code:
<bool name="config_quick_memo_hotkey_customizing">false</bool>
In LGSystemUI.apk,in status_bar.xml(LGSystemUI\res\layout)after row:
Code:
<com.lge.systemui.StatusBarLinearLayout android:orientation="horizontal" android:id="@id/icons" android:tag="NO_R2L" android:paddingLeft="6.0dip" android:paddingRight="6.0dip" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent">
Paste:
Code:
<com.android.systemui.statusbar.policy.KeyButtonView android:id="@id/back" android:layout_width="25dip" android:layout_height="fill_parent" android:src="@drawable/hotkey" android:layout_toRightOf="@id/recent_apps" android:contentDescription="@string/accessibility_back" systemui:keyCode="225" systemui:glowBackground="@drawable/lock_bg" />
In drawable-hdpi(LGSystemUI/res)move the images from the archive and compile

Quick memo is not what he is talking about. Quick button is a toggle you can press to select a specific quick app you want to launch..

Thanks for the info, I changed 25dpi to 0dpi, I don't want to see the hotkey icon on the status bar.
Question, do you know where to disable the hotkey mapping to QuickMemo3.apk?
If I have QuickMemo3.apk installed when I press the hotkey, the other app and QuickMemo3.apk open at the same time. I have to remove QuickMemo3.apk so I can use just the new hotkey.
systemui:keyCode="225"

[MOD][framework]4 Way Rotation / Nav Keys / Lockscreen Rotation / Screen Light

Hi everyone,
I saw in some other threads that people are hatinbg the screen lighting up when you unplug/plug the charger.
Because of that I disabled that in the framework-res.apk
When I started doing this I realised that, while I was busy doing it anyway, I could also enable Lockscreen Rotation and 4-Way Rotation.
And because I like it, and Google Edition is coming, I enabled the Nav Buttons by default.
To delete Nav Buttons, decompile framework-res.apk and search for framework-res/res/values/bools.xml and look for the follwing line:
<bool name="config_showNavigationBar">true</bool>
Change the true in false
<bool name="config_showNavigationBar">false</bool>
, then recompile and flash again
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
I tried to put in CRT-OFF effect in it by default, but I'm not sure if it worked, because I put that in it later, and my phone got bricked by testing my own ROM, so I had no opportunity to test it.
How to install:
Download the zip file
Put it on SD-card
Boot into TWRP/CWM
Flash the zip

Note
Please note that I'm not in any way responsible for any damage done to you, nor your phone.
For GingerBread users: don't flash this, upgrade to JellyBean in order to use this mod
If you have any feedback I would be happy to receive it!
I will be updating this, so your feedback will be helpfull!

[TWEAK][MOD][ROOT][LP] Enable AOSP Soft Keys on your Galaxy S5!!

This is a trick I found for older Android versions I thought I can share!!This works for all Android versions!
This tweak adds the soft keys to your S5 along with the hard keys fully functional!! I wanted the true AOSP feel and now I'm reaching there!!!

}
This supposedly works on any phone!
Steps:
1. Root your phone!
2. Add the following line to the bottom of your build.prop file! (/system/build.prop)
Code:
qemu.hw.mainkeys=0
3. Save and reboot!!!
See screen shot below to see my result!!! Do comment and show screenshots of your screens!!
If you want to disable your hard keys below screen, then do the following:
1.Navigate to /system/usr/keylayout
2.Open Generic.kl using any text editor
3.Find the following lines,
key 158 BACK
key 172 HOME
key 254 APP_Switch
4. Add a # symbol before these lines, like this
#key 158 BACK
#key 172 HOME
#key 254 APP_Switch
5. Save and Close, Reboot Phone
6. Tadaaaa!
Warning: Don't mess with the other lines, it may prevent your phone from switching on! or you may lose functionality!
Hit thanks if you like this!!!!
Works on att s5 active.
SM-G870 Peace

Help: deactivate original soft key on RN2

Post this on the thread 'bout CM12 by Jo-san but now it was closed... so I think better make a independent thread.
Could sb help me with soft nav keys: I love to use virtual nav bar and I can edit build.prop to have it on, but how to deactivate (permanently, or occasionally maybe...) the original soft key below the scr!? I mean to have them no functional and no light. Is it simple to only edit sys files or else!?
In stock MIUI ROM they have made a function to do this (deactive/reactive) in the quick toggle buttons... Could that be ported to other ROMs!?
And btw once I have virtual nav bar, how to mod it (transparency, immersive mode,....) like in LG G4!?
Thanks so much!
Try Gravity Box with Xposed installed.
I think it have everything u need
You can't disable the buttons below the screen with GravityBox, as far as I know. I was only able to turn off all the functions, including the soft keys.

Swapped down from the top screen to access the toggles page. Here you can deactivated the navigation buttons. Then Under setting → addtional setting → button, to off the navigating button light. Hope it help.
