Well you should post this under the q&a thread. Well Miuiv5 is good and its based on sammys 4.1.2 and its not going to be update to newer android version unless someone make it based on cm. Cm is good to and cm10.2 is almost as stable as stock 4.1.2 if even. In general both roms are good if you like never android version and fast updates (everyday sinse Miui is updated every friday) go for cm but if you like interface and custominization go for Miui

Those are all for the Fascinate? I'm using DerTeufel's Helly Bean ROM version 20120807 with its stock kernel. I want MIUI V4.1, but i have to stick with CM10 variants cuz not a lot of good JB ROMs are available. But HB is really smooth.

[Q] AOSP ROM Question

Hi guys,
FIRST, this is NOT(!!) a thread for asking which is the best ROM.
i'm coming from Galaxy S2, and i'm using Omega and crDroid for a while...
on the S2 i had AOKP or AOSP but here, i cant find any stable version.
on the S2 there were JellyBam, RootBox etc.
any one can point for a STABLE DAILY USE rom aosp or aokp?
all i see is compiled nightlies and i dont know if that is stable enough...
thanks for the help.
Shahar.
You've clearly not searched enough.
Jellybam and Rootbox are available for the S3.
Search in the dev forums

None of the Jellybean based cm based ROMs are stable. So at the moment you will not find what you are looking for. They all have clearly listed bugs.

@shahar2k9
Why don't you try supernexus 2.0. It's based on jelly bean 4.2.1 and it is nice and stable. I am using it as a daily driver along with a lot of other people. I would definitely check it out if I were you.

That might not be what you intended but as you can see from the post 1 above this one, that's what this thread is becoming.
Nightlies are actually more stable than most people give them credit for... just look around in the dev forum, find a ROM you like the look of, flash it. If you are satisfied, great, if not then move onto a different ROM.

Slightly Newer Slimbean Build 4 YP-G70

I was sifting through some files on my player and I found a Slimbean build that's slightly newer than the one in the dev forum so I thought I'd post it here...
So here is Slimbean 4.2.2 build 8.1 for Player 5.0:
http://www.4shared.com/zip/24rAUJd-/Slim-422build81-UNOFFICIAL-201.html
Refer to http://slimroms.net/ for installation instructions and gapps..
It should work but, I built it back in August, and as far as I know it didn't have any issues beyond the normal 4.2.2 issues.
Also, if there is any interest, I could probably build a newer Slimbean. So if that's something that is wanted, post here...
Here's my vote
I would look forward to newer Slimbean Rom's, and would provide feedback about newer versions you may develop. I haven't tried the one you posted, but if it would be helpful to you, I surely will. Thanks for your efforts here !!

Nah, I just put it up in case anyone wanted it. If there is more interest in Slimbean, I'll do some builds but, if nobody wants it then I'm not going to bother.
i'd love to see new slimbean for 5.0.
I noticed that the 4.0 already has kitkat, should we expect to get kitkat to 5.0 shortly?

Have You Ever Thought About Making An MIUI Based On 4.2.2. Or Even 4.3?

I've looked into it a little and from what I can tell, making MIUI is very different then building android. It seems like it's kinda patched together using reverse engineered smali code.

Lack of knowledge can be resolved by "reading", "learning", "comprehending", and "asking"
Lack of experience can be resolved by "trying","failing","retrying", and eventually "succeeding"
Lack of time can be resolved by "making time" or "taking time"
Just sayin'
Took a little doing but got a working slimbean 4.3 released here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=47842886
Gapps question
Thanks so much for bringing Slimbean 4.3 to our device !! Slimbean is my daily driver, and it's great to see development for our device continue.
Apologies in advance for my ignorance: Which is the correct gapps category/file to use for this ROM and our device? Would it be i9100? or Crespo? or ??? I'm clueless...

[Q] Confusion about android basics

Tbh, i know just jack about ROMs and aokp or aosp builds.
Im much confused between what are and the differences b/w AOSP and AOKP builds. and what is Omega (is it a ROM? or is the base for AOKP. i mean i just dont understand all this confusion .. u get the idea how much i know )
if CM is a ROM and AOSP is its base, then is CM also on AOKP ? if im wrong in what i understand pls correct and teach me from zero.
i know about rooting phone just confused between all the technical terms and ROMs and builds and whats Omega, and hows it diff from CM etc. etc.
Pls im desperate and eager. Anybodies time is greatly appreciated
Thanks!
just btw, using galaxy s3 (intl.) rooted and cm11 nightly flashed.
All ROMs are based on AOSP. Since that's the thing people call Android. There are then ROMs that are based on any of the 3 biggest ROMs out there. So you might see a ROM that's based on CM which in turn is based on AOSP.

No, CM is not on AOKP. They are two completely different derivatives of AOSP. I have no idea what omega is. You'll just have to do some research for yourself.

Most stable MM ROM?

Hey,
I've been using CM's Nightly 6.0 ROM [11/26] for the past 24hrs and it's OK, most things work properly, although flashing SuperSU gets me bootlooped and I cannot gain root access in any other way (Dev options etc).
So I've been wondering, for those of you who are using a Marshmallow ROM on your OPO,which one are you using and how stable is it?

Latest official cm13 nightly, most stable so far.
There is root, it works fine.
Ask that in Android General or somewhere..this is for deveolpment i believe....but try VM13 its the best 6.0 IMO
Broken Os is flawless. Can't be found on XDA though. Over on Google +.
I like darkobas as a rom and you need to also go on google plus as no xda

As already pointed out, this is a development forum, not a Q&A forum. Feel free to flash as many ROM's as you'd like until you find the one that best suits your needs.
