That's correct. It's a big obstacle to overcome, but it is still on our to-do list!

Just want to update that this happened to me too when using CloudMagic app (I could select only one of my gmail accounts in the widget settings).

Alternative email account support is coming in a few weeks, it's just a very labor intensive exercise

I have the same problem. For e-mail (inbox) is either "invalid account" or "-1".
Mobile: Samsung Galaxy Note II
Android 4.3
ROM: DN3 v3.2.1 (Ditto Note 3)
E-mail: Aqua mail
The problem also occurs with the original Gmail app.

Hi,
Our developers are currently looking into supporting alternate email account types, as for now only Gmail is supported. We apologize for the inconvenience.

[Q] Anyone tested Hotmail / Exchange

Hi
I am getting the Galaxy SII in the next few days and I am coming form a windows 6.5 phone, but have also used iPhones for work purposes.
Has anyone tested the exchange setup on the new Galaxy?
I am a long standing hotmail user (please dont start a bashing thread hotmail vs gmail etc ) and I want to stay using hotmail.
Is the exchange client on the phone now capable of doing everything using a hotmail account?
If not whats the best solution?
Use a different mail client on the phone?
Link hotmail to gmail account?
I've done a little searching and it seems that different models of android phones seem to handle exchange email in different ways as some phones seem to work others dont.....
I also would like to know what advantages gmail gives to you over hotmail only in reference to Andriod?
Many thanks

Well microsoft has made an exchange server for hotmail and live which i use on mij galaxy s1, so i guess that would work ony any phone with exchange support.
Just enter it like this:

Then you can choose what you want to sync and how (push or time based)

Exchange works.. (im on exchange 2010)
Only thing missing is the ability to push multiple folders
If you need full exchange-ish funcionality, then touchdown is probably the best app to use.

So if GAL works, can anyone please confirm the following exchange features:

- html mails

and what's about push for multiple folders?

Any sign of CISCO VPN or device/SD card encryption?
There was lots about this pre-release but perhaps it has been dropped like Face recognition lock and NFC.

Same problem here. I've been with hotmail for almost 15 years and don't want to change. I want a client that syncs the way activesync did on my winmo phone (with sub folders too)....searched and searched with no luck. I can't believe that it doesn't come with the default client
Hotmail/Live accounts work. However, I tried to link my university email, which uses Outlook, and that didn't work.

[Q] Is there a way to make my S4 look like a GNex for exchange email purposes?

Here's the deal - I want to add my corporate email account to the stock app on my S4 however - my company has stopped approving individual Android phones to the network. They now want me to use the 3rd party app Touchdown, which I don't want to do.
My last phone was a Galaxy Nexus and was able to successfully use the activesync exchange. Is there a way to trick my company in thinking I have a GNex (approved phone) so I can use the native app? Changing the phone name in the build.prop file didn't seem to work.
I'd prefer to use the S4 native app but if I can pull the stock app from the GNex, that works too.
Thanks for your help!
Matt
I can't really answer your question, but have one of my own to you. What's wrong with Touchdown? I actually prefer it since I only have to enter my pin when I launch the app. When I configured the stock app for Exchange I had to enter it every time I woke my phone which drove me crazy. I acknowledge it's a personal preference thing.

Stock looks so much nicer. Looks like an app actually created for JB. Touchdown looks like a blackberry app from 2003. I like the way stock integrates with my calendar.
Also, I used the modified version of the stock app so I didn't have to enter a PIN

While I agree that visually Touchdown is not as nice as the stock app, it will sync the phone's native calendar with exchange.

When you setup the account in Touchdown you just select the Calendar to sync.
I have used it on many different ROMs and since my Galaxy Nexus. I have noticed that sometimes it can take a while for the events to appear in the calendar. (A couple hours at times at first.)
I think you are SOL. The Exchange server you will connect to can (and is probably configured) to check a unique hash generated from your current phone that is registered at the first sync that was done on your GNex. There are hacks out there, but I have no idea how well they work.

Can you point me to the modified stock app? I'd at least like to take a look and see if it's something I can use. I'll not totally sold on Touchdown and an alternative would be nice.

I'm a little confused here. So you can use your phone but only if you use Touchdown. Does touchdown connects to your network some special way? What error do you get when you try to use your S4 mail app?

I've been using Touchdown for a few years now and I really like it but I've never found a way to have the Touchdown calendar copied/synched/etc to the phone's built-in calendar. I know this option exists for the contacts but I just checked all of the settings in TD again and an option to do so with the calendar does not appear to exist. Please tell me how you accomplish this?

When you initially set up the account it gives you the tick boxes for email, contacts, and calendar. I select email and calendar but not contacts and it has always synced my calendar.

Correct. I was told by my internal IT that they do not authenticate individual models of Android phones anymore for activesync (because there is so many different versions. ugh.). So they tell you that if your device isn't already on the list, you need to use Touchdown. I was able to use the stock app on the Gnex, but can't on my S4. The error message simply says "Setup could not finish: Authentication failed".
I was hoping there would be some way to manipulate the app so my phone would appear as a GNex to the network.
Now that the S4 had been out for a little bit I will give this a bump and hope someone had a solution Please help . Thanks!

Not sure if this will help you but for a while I had flipped to another client see this url http://forums.androidcentral.com/verizon-galaxy-note-2/231093-i-miss-my-email-widget.html
And see the post from 12-18-2012, 11:55 AM alvarez13.
One of the many times I restored I did have a problem with FC's and created a step 6...
6. If this doesn't work just remove those two apps from the app folder and install the 2 apks from the SD Card. Then run TIBU and convert email to a system app, if it errors reboot the device.
If all else fails you just remove those two apks, and rename the original files back and reboot. Of course as always....
Please make a backUp when trying any mod, I am not responsible if your phone breaks. Yada Yada :good:

Unread Email Count Options and Social Widget

Hi, I think it would be much better if Unread Email Option not only limited to the registered email account such as gmail, I have several active email account in my phone such as Yahoo Mail, Outlook.com and my Corporate Email (Exchange Active-Sync) so it would be much better if the option of the unread email also available for those items. Another thing is to add a social widget that integrate some or all social networking apps such as facebook, twitter, or anything possible. Anyway I love themer a lot!!! Thanks.

Hi combrolegit,
Have you looked at the email settings that are available in Themer?
If you go to Themer Settings > Themer > Unread Email Count, you'll find that you can choose from multiple email accounts. Good suggestion with the social widget, we like it! It might be very difficult to implement, and we are still currently focused on eliminating all the bugs and adding in useful features, but we'll definitely consider it in the future.
Thanks! :victory:

I'm loving this new gmail. Especially with the exchange services. Unfortunately the exchange policy patch (on XDA) doesn't work with this yet, so for now I'm just using it for gmail. Can't stand having to use a pin or password! Especially when we now have fingerprint recognition.
