I take it that you mean Lock, my Kit doesn't relock. Are you S-OFF? That is required to Lock your bootloader. What superuser app are you using?

Squabbi has no recovery, lock, Font Theming, device info get, etc.... It also has a GUI, which in reality, is a MINUS. Unless he is just using the gui to launch a bat, then it is a VERY inefficiant and risky way of doing things, that's why I nixed my GUI tools (it bricked my Nexus 5, luckily I saved it).

Hey there Kwongger.
like you said its really incomplete. Which is true... No batch files are used in mine.
" that's why I nixed my GUI tools " Just wondering what's 'nixed'? Is it a typo? Last one, was it my Nexus 5 toolkit that bricked your phone? (I'm really sorry. :'( ). This was posted with no harm or aggression in any way.

not trying to act the role of N00b, but, when you get a chance, can you post either a step by step directions list, or, even a video on how to use this?
I haven't tried it yet, but I assume you just plug your phone into a windows pc, and if you have the proper drivers installed, the program starts up when you click on it..
thanks!

nixed- put an end to; canceled.
Yes. It was your kit that bricked it :/ and then I tried to fix it with a kit I made, which fixed it, and then bricked it.
Tools like that are inefficient. They can't natively run the commands, so the open a sort of "emulated" command prompt to execute them. That is where we run into issues. I think GUI kits are GREAT minus that.

Scale 1-10. 1. I had no problem with it. But one thing I would suggest would be when using it to flash a recovery, or hboot state to put it in "data/put recovery img here folder or put hboot here folder/" I accidentally put it just in the data folder, cause I didn't read what was in there.

in regards to the wire trick, I see where people are using paper clips, is that one clip stretched out, or two?

About
The WinDroid Toolkit is a Windows program built in Visual Studio using the C# programming language that simplifies the rooting process for many Android devices. The toolkit makes it easy to unlock your bootloader, flash a custom recovery and gain permanent root. It also includes other functions such as flashing kernels, pushing files and installing apps. If you find it helpful, give me a thanks and a donation if you can. If you find a bug or have a feature request, feel free to leave a reply. Thanks!

HTC Desire X || Android 4.1.2 || mySENSEdx5
Good job. I will decompile it and look at code and if there are deprecated uses of code I will teach you something.
Btw try to use object as much as you can.
Don't limit only at the guide who you looked in because I saw it uses basic commands of C#.
xpirt
use for s-off?
@WindyCityRockr
Ok looked into it.
Some advices:
- Remove HTC One X 3.0 references
- Please use instead of buttonXX the name of button, there are almost 60 buttons! (for ex. installAdbDrivers_Click/DragDrop, etc.. you can help also other people or devs looking at your code
- Same for forms
- Catch exceptions for EVERY thread you do! And write it as error.log so if there are problems with it, people can send you this file
- If an OS doesn't use C: as default hard drive (like laptops)? Fix it.
- Is there a Form2 that is not used with a textbox in it??
- You can use StatusStrip to let people know what the program is doing
- You put a link to a Label?? Use LinkLabels lol
- And last, give name at all controls and comment some of them
This was for code side, you can decide to not change nothing but I reccomend you to make these changes.
Except these, well done!
EDIT: I forgot.. you download from your website adb files if they are missing, but you forgot to download them in a folder.
xpirt
Major update to version 2.0! Check it out and let me know what you think! :highfive: And @xpirt, I followed a lot of your advice, so I hope that it is up to your standards.

Good job! Today I will take a look.
Nice you used MetroUI.
xpirt
OK. Really good job! Now ALL is very conprensible, do you see it? Also helps you to look at your code, imagine you don't have GUI with controls, etc. you have to create them at runtime, what did you do with button1, button2.........button50 ?
Minor forgots:
- You left metroButton1, metroComboBox1 and Form1
- You left the Form1 exceptions to save to log, also if there is a minor error and only you display message you should save just let users give you this log and you see all error happend with him
- Why you make dll invisible?? xD You can integrate them into the app with this tool made by my friend Predator: http://www.nexenteam.net/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=13:dotqube&catid=12&Itemid=125
It merges Dot Net executable and library, performing autoscan of dependencies.

@WindyCityRockr Which problems you have with androidLib? I think it's not difficult to use it.
See there: https://github.com/regaw-leinad/AndroidLib-Samples-C-

Suggestion,
You can make apk decompile, mod and recompile tool for people.
Framework mods
System ui mods
And similar stuff
That way, people just create images and let the tool do the rest

Thanks for looking at it again. I shall look into those pesky unnamed buttons. I didn't know the DLL's could be directly integrated either! I'll be sure to do that for the next update. Also, I'll take a look at AndroidLib again, but I just can't seem to get it to work. I previously downloaded that C# example, but it froze on me just like the others, and I couldn't seem to figure anything out. I will try my hand at it again though.

Do you mean to make this as a separate program, or implement it into my toolkit? I don't want to overload it with features, but some of that does sound interesting. I'm just not sure how that could be used in my toolkit in place of anything else.

HOLY CRAP. How did I miss that!? I'm a huge grammar nazi as well, so I gotta decide if I want to agonize over it until the next update, or re-upload a fixed version and hope no one notices.
Hi, when I use your toolkit, it can find my device but can't flash a kernel, i keep getting a device not found message
The manual s-off function is not sending any command to my phone.
When i press step 1 a cmd windows opens and it showing

But nothing further happends...
The auto s-off was not working either, i got
Code:
Kernel version is Froyo... Using psnueter to temproot...
Failed to set prot mask (Inappropriate ioctl for device)
Can you help me to get s-off?

Verson 2.1 update is now out! Lots of new features and fixes, so check it out and let me know what you think! :highfive:
EDIT: Aaaaand, something major came up. I may have to redesign a function, so the update may be a few more days. Sorry everyone!
Version 2.1 is back online now! I had to redesign a few functions on the Setup page, and took some of that extra time to add even more features to it as well! Hope you all enjoy it!:good::highfive:
So what is the benefits between flashing a ROM on this and flashing one with TWRP or CWM (all due respect) ??

Yes!
also people reading the article on the portal, the tool does not use fast flash commands, it uses the dd method for those flashes, when i add kernel flashing and backing up your device as .img files then i will be adding fastboot flash commands, so yes, the flashes occur when your device is booted!
Can I ask what version of TWRP is installed, is it the latest?

i am almost finished updating the tool i will include it in the next update!! but you could more then likely find them in the general section!
ok cheers, no problem. Will wait for the new version to be up, no rush. Thanks for your commitment to provide a tool for us noobs/lazy people!
Would you recommend running your tool before first boot?
Just a few questions: when there is <waiting for device> for 5 minutes, that seems like my drivers are wrong? It was possible to unlock, but not to install a recovery, so i am trying to update my drivers...
And can i run the tool and select unlock, install recovery and root even when my device is already unlocked?

Hi there,
I've just coded a script in Python3 to build ROMs more easily and decided to share it here.
It's very basic but I think it can help people that wants to start ROM development. Also it able you to save a lot of times.
Just put the script at the root of your linux machine and run it with :
Code:
python3 aac.py
...and follow instructions.
That's all !
Don't hesitate to test it.
You can download the script on my Github : https://github.com/AndroGeek974/AndroidAutoCompiler

Please keep pushing changes regularly to the Github repo do that I can stay up to date with your sources and keep working on my contributions as well.
P.S. I just had an idea to upload a index file with names of devices and their code names for noobs of course. We can then proceed to also including which ROMs actually support the device. The devices can first be the popular ones, and if the script gets famous :fingerscrossed: , we can accept requests for device inclusion.
Dont worry about implementation, if you aren't familiar with file handling in Python, I'll do it.

I'm still working on that ui, it takes time, i'd never use Tkinter. I'll push when the script will be usable.

I just read through your scripts and documents and I feel its awesome. If we ever feel like it, I think the device specific script can be dynamically grepped in the linux shell to make it work for any device without manual editing by the user.

Boohoo....
Makes you look dumb when you say that. If it's not ready just make a new branch on the git repo and push it there. Call that branch beta test or something like gui test. It doesn't hurt to have some help. You keep your work synced, I'll keep mine and together we'll be able to finish it earlier than you alone.

Few things, then I am off to sleep:
1) BINGO! The plan is to use env variables, eg:
export VENDOR=asus
export DEVICE=Z00A
2) Shall we Skype sometime? I'm faddat on Skype.

1) The idea's awesome, and since @AndroGeek974 is taking some time in that gui thingy, I'll do a version myself using your concept.
2) I would love to, but here in India... ummm, not that good of an idea. But I'll try to, for sure.
The thread has been cold for a while so here's a quick rundown of what we all have been up to in the mean time.
1. The GUI version of the script went up at https://GitHub.com/AndroGeek974/AndroidAutoCompiler2
2. It turned out that the GUI and CLI, both versions of the script are non-functional and buggy.
3. I made many edits to both versions to attempt to fix those issues and bugs, to no avail.
4. Tired of the constant issues with AAC and AAC2, I created another GUI based repository for AAC, called AAC-Redux, that currently only supports CyanogenMod for now, but works. Link is : https://GitHub.com/MSF-Jarvis/AAC-Redux

About the Project
I bought this phone two weeks back and as a web developer, had this idea of combining JavaScript and device communication. The project is built on Electron. The basic UI is adapted from Electron API Demos.
The source is available on Github.
Porting it to another device
Porting the toolkit to another device is easy. Change a few strings, variables and necessary files like recovery image and you are done. After all every phone can communicate with your computer with ADB or Fastboot.
Credits
This project bundles the work of many other devs.
*@vache for potter TWRP, boot.img and WiFi patch.
*@chainfire for SuperSU.

Moto.G5.Toolkit-darwin-x64.zip (98MB)

Issues
1. TWRP backups saved to computer might fail to restore. The ones saved to phone work fine.
2. TWRP gets stuck on logo if booted instead of flashed.

But how are the newbies supposed to brick their phones now?

You'll learn the most by doing things manually! Being spoon fed is easy, but not always necessarily the safest way. (someone might give you 'bad food'). I always like to know what command I give!
Nevertheless: nice scripts!

Ouch. I just got rid of my v20 for this g5 plus. That v20 is a mess of a phone, especially when it comes to rooting. Good luck!
Haha I think we need more than good luck mate
But thanks
Hi all,
In case anybody is interested, I just used this on my (un-messed with) phone. Mine was a UK, 32/2 gig, dual sim moto 5-plus. Worked perfectly, flawlessly, fantastically! It just worked... Used on Ubuntu linux.
Thanks DrTechie, you're a star dev.
I had been worried about installing TRWP after reading other threads, but this works. And because it's a gui with scripts, there aren't any real instructions to follow - that you could get wrong. Very well designed.
For what it's worth, I chose not to install su. This means it's not truly rooted, and such things as Android Pay should still work. But, with the bootloader unlocked, and a good functioning custom recovery - I can flash any rom I need. And, I can flash su anytime.
Thanks!!!

1. Clone the git repo
https://github.com/drtechie/moto-g5p-toolkit
2. You will need NodeJS installed and build tools.
Refer to https://electron.atom.io/docs/ build env instructions
Setting up the build enviroment is easiest in Linux.
macOS will need XCode tools and Windows will need Visual Studio etc.
Do npm install to get all Node dependencies.
Build Electron-usb (This checks for usb attach-detach events)
3. In the file main.js L19 you will see global.strings.deviceName = 'potter'
Change 'potter' to your device name.
4. Fire up the app with 'npm start' or 'gulp'
Subsequent ADB and Fastboot requests will check for the new device name.
Hopefully your device should be detected.
5. Then the files - TWRP, SuperSU etc
check main-process/common/files.js
Change the name of the twrp recovery to your new file name twrp-<device>.img or whatever.
Copy the same to files folder.
Now try flashing the recovery.
Now you get the idea, I hope.
6. There are main-process/common/adb.js and fastboot.js which carry out core ADB and Fastboot commands.
File names for SuperSU will have to be changed if you change them.
Some methods are named checkMoto etc. You can change them if you feel so.

Glad I could help.
I have nothing to do with TWRP. I just copy pasted the file. It was developed by @vache.

Thanks for your time, it's really appreciated.
I'm not a Dev by any means, but I'll have a look through the info you've provided. Maybe, just maybe, I'll be able to understand how to accomplish it.
Wish me luck
Is there any way to avoid unlocking bootloader via Moto website??
what is the purpose of flashing custom bootloader? i dont seem to get it. i am yet to receive my mobile but still curiosity. anyone who has experience please elaborate along with hurdles new one might face like me.
thank you
