[Q] Android 4.2.2 Stock installation - HTC One X+

I am currently running an international one x+ factory unlocked, with superCID and s-OFF(lucky me ). Naturally, I cannot revive any software updates. I have an nandroid backup of the 4.2.2 stock sense 5 rom, and I have already flashed the firmware for sense 5. However when it comes to the rom installation I am not sure, as I have stock recovery. Is it possible to install with stock recovery? I know the stock rom requires full stock to work. Can someone please provide a guide, or an instruction set?

Another solution. If anyone can link an OTA that I can flash to the RUU, that would work too

Flashed the new official rom for hero, but want Modac rom instead?

So, i've heard that when installing the newest official rom for Hero, you cannot root it the way we used to, do this prevent me from installing the modaco rom? If so, what do i need to do to install the modaco rom instead?
The Modaco custom ROM is pre-rooted so you don't have to do anything else after flashing.
Yea, that's fine, but can i just install it over the rom i already have? Or do i need to do something to prepare the phone for the new custom rom, since apparently after installing the new official rom, a new hboot get's installed which makes rooting impossible, almost, or so i've heard.
Have you look at the following thread already?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=559613&highlight=hboot
That has instructions that you need to follow... And then you can flash Modaco custom.

[Q] Requirements for Installing Roms

I am still new at this stuff, and did research on the forums, but cant find an answer
For example, one of the Roms I want to install had this description;
(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2133763)
YOU MUST BE ON THE VERIZON (USA) JB KERNEL(either through dualboot or the leak) TO FLASH THIS ROM
YOU MUST FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS EXACTLY.
~~~~
I am using Safetrap 3.11, and my stock rom is running just the regular stock that came with the phone (4.0.4) android
(My phone is CDMA too I think.).
Does that mean I have to install a different rom that has a JB kernel on slot 1, and then I can install this rom into slot 2,
does it work like that? It can get a little iffy for me trying to understand rom requirements.
No,you just install JB kernel and then Jb rom on system 2 (if you want) and you´ll still have ICS on system 1.
Be sure that before anything,you do a backup of kernel and cid,so you can go back to ICS if you want.
Here is the very good rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2142593 ,everything is working,good battery life...
Just follow the instructions
M8 only boots with cyanogenmod 11
I have an AT&T HTC One M8 which I messed up trying to upgrade it to 4.4.3. I need to get it back on sense but nothing seems to work. When I try to flash the stock rom I downloaded from another post it says failed. I managed to install CM11. How can I get it back to sense? The Cid is 1111111. I really need help!!! I'm kind of new so I need the step by step process.
Thanks.
What recovery and version are you using? Did you try to download the stock ROM again, or check MD5 to make sure the file wasn't corrupted during download.
Did you try a Sense based custom ROM, there are several based on either the AT&T or "international" stock ROM, that are very close to stock, just debloated and with some optimizations (which are both good things). Personally, I'd recommend the international base over the stock AT&T ROM, anyway.
[Q] Changing ROM
Hey guys. I posted a few days ago with a question about restoring my dad's phone to stock for warranty and this got me thinking about making some changes to my phone as well. I'm currently on Beans rom (Now called Alliance I believe) build 21. I'm thinking about trying out CM11 which I believe is Android 4.4. I went to the CM website to check out a guide on how to do this and came across this: http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Install_CM_for_i605
This guide APPEARS to be written for Note 2's that took the OTA that locked the bootloader. I still have an unlocked bootloader on Beans rom. So my question is do I need to bother with all the steps in that guide? Or is that only if bootloader is locked? Do I need Heimdall or Clockworkmod Recovery? Can I just use TWRP that I already have and do a data/cache wipe and flash the CM11 Rom? Any firmware files needed? Since my current rom is only Android 4.1.2? The Alliance rom thread says to flash MJ9 firmware before flashing their rom but I see no mention of it in the CM guide.
Thanks so much. You guys are the best!
Can I downgrade HTC ONE M8 from 6.0 to 5.0 or 4.4.4?
Hi guys I have an AT&T HTC ONE M8 and it was rooted and running 4.4.4 and TWRP and then something happened to it which caused me to go RUU and restore the device and unroot it and everything. Then I was on 6.0 and rooted it with the HTC ONE M8 rootkit and flashed SuperSU and TWRP on it and currently its still running rooted 6.0 with TWRP, I don't like marshmallow and I want to downgrade to kitkat or lollipop. My bootloader is unlocked and I am S-ON! Please someone explain very thoroughly how I can downgrade as I am not 100% tech-savy as we speak.
Thank You Guys So Much!
You can simply TWRP flash a 5.0 based M8 ROM, or restore a 5.0 backup and it will work. I believe the same is also true for 4.4.4. But not 4.4.3, as it is not compatible with newer firmware (hboot, radio, etc.). And you need s-off to downgrade that firmware.
Be aware, whatever you think you are gaining from downgrading; you are losing by not having years of Android security updates (patches to vulnerabilities, etc.).
Thanks Mate! Can you redirect me to a 5.0 Rom?
Not specifically, no. You can search the ATT Dev section for 5.0 ROM as easily as I can. Or if you don't need or want an ATT based ROM, you can also look in the "international" Dev section: https://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-m8/development
Also, ROMs which have been updated (Android 6, 7) may or may not still have links to 5.0 versions.
Alternately (and probably easier to find) just restore a stock TWRP backup of a 5.0 ROM: https://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-m8/help/tutorial-how-to-stock-stock-twrp-t3086860
You don't need (or want) to restore the data partition, so it is essentially the same as flashing a ROM (although getting the files to the right location is a bit trickier). Also, no need to install stock recovery (as getting an OTA update is not what you want). Then root if desired.
