[Q] MetaTrader 4 on HDX question - Kindle Fire HDX 7" & 8.9" Q&A, Help & Troubleshoot

So, MetaTrader 4 shows up in the app store on my kindle fire hdx but when I try to run it the app opens then says unsupported device. Is there a way to trick this one app into thinking I have a different device? My device is rooted but I don't know of any apps or any way to do this.

[Q] GQ Magazine App for Kindle working on other devices?

Hello - Just curious if anyone has been able to get the GQ app that is only available for Kindle Fire working on other tablets? My fiancee has the KF and I have a Samung Galaxy Tab 8.9. I was able to install the apk after pulling it from her KF's TB Backup then restoring it to my GT89, I open it up, login and download an issue but when I try and read the issue it says it is not available for my device and closed down. Hoping someone has figured this out or has some ideas for me. Thanks for your time.

[Q] Running "for Kindle Fire" apps on non-Kindle Fires?

Some apps on Amazon's store are "for Kindle Fire". Does anyone know if/how to get these running on non-Kindle Fire Android tablets? Does the APK check what it's running on, or is it just that the store doesn't let you download these apps without a Kindle Fire? Is there a way to get APKs from the Amazon app store using a PC? I am referring to free ones, or ones which you have a licence for of course.
Cheers
NB: I did not ask how to get the same thing from elsewhere.
Oh so it turns out "for Kindle Fire" versions work just fine on other devices. The only difference seems to be that the download is restricted.

[Q] Kindle Fire HDX Android Support?

Hi guys, I've never used any kindle device before but the price and specs of Kindle Fire HDX got me all excited and I wanna buy it but in one condition and that is if it has Google Play. I hate Amazon Appstore it doesn't have 90% of the apps that Google Play has. What's the point of buying this powerful device if I can't play latest & greatest games and use different apps? I heard that kindle fire hd is rootable and can be converted to android? So I just wanna know if it's possible to could get access to all google play apps and games and play them on this device after it get released?
Thank You
Not without rooting. Hopefully they'll find an exploit soon enough after release.

The current generation of Fires (Kindle Fire 7" HD, Kindle Fire 2, and Kindle Fire 8.9" HD) have been exploited and are indeed rootable and can have the Play Store installed, as they are already running Android 4.0.3 (ICS). However, the next generation (the HDX models) have just been announced. I don't even think they're even shipping yet (I could be wrong), so there's no exploit yet. And even once there is, there are no safegaurds in place to revert back to stock should something go wrong. The Fire HDs and the Fire HDXs run totally different software (what Amazon calls Fire OS is really just Android 4.2.2 JellyBean), which means exploits for one may not work for the other. And you can pretty much guarantee that the bootloader is going to be majorly locked down (we never really cracked this one--we had to install a second one in order to enable recovery). So it's gonna be a while.
Yes, the Amazon Appstore is nothing to be proud of, but for a while, there won't be any other option. Amazon may decide to screw us over and not even allow for the installation of third-party apps via sideloading.
We have to wait and see what the Kindle fire hdx has. I remember reading somewhere with the Kindle hd that you just install some framework.apk file and that does the job. Lets hope the kindle fire hdx wouldn't be tough to pass by.
Hello, I have question too.
Can I install apk files I download from the internet into this device? . I have never own or use a Kindlefire ever. But I have just preorder HdX on amazon.
If it is just like other Android devices with Unknown Sources check in the settings then the lack of Play Store is just fine by me.
Do not really remember in which review, I have seen alot these days, but they say, that sideloading is possible.
As my KF is rooted with G-Market, I can always download apps from Google and than transfer to HDX. This was one among other arguments, to pre-order HDX.
What I wonder, if it is really international - with international keyboard. Or if that's possible to load third-party keyboard like SWYPE and make it work without root.
When we all have the devices, let's hit that 'mayday' button and ask the agent.

Sideloading
Yes, sideloading is possible. Indeed, for me, essential.
My HDX arrived yesterday. It's a jewel of a device, the dimensions are perfect, the screen is the best I've seen on any small device and Mojito is quick and lag-free. The power of the processor/GPU are apparent. Sound is excellent though not all that loud. It's a beautiful thing!
I have installed the XAF build of XBMC that hands video over to MX Player (free). The combo works well and movies look superb. Video loading times are a little longer than on my Nexus 7 and I suspect Amazon has configured memory to suit Prime, its own video service, and not anything else.
Other apps I've sideloaded include: Advanced Task Manager; Archos Video Player; Dolphin Beta; SpeedTest; ES File Explorer (also available from Amazon App Store; 1Mobile Market and two games.
My overall initial impression is that if we ever get to a custom rom on this device, it will scream past anything else out there. If we don't, it's still a zippy, beautiful thing.

Thankfully sideloading is working and I have been able to load most of Google apps on there. Google Play Store doesn't work yet as it probably will require root and Google+ is not working either. I'll continue to tinker and see how far I get.

Google Play needs the Google Services Framework to work. And it's a system level app, so yeah, it'll need root. Wish I had enough money to buy one of these. Unfortunately, I still owe my parents $1,000 for my car, and I've still got school to play for. Still, it looks like it would be a fun tablet to dink around with.

Does anyone know how to get Adobe Flash working on the HDX? I just received the 7" hdx & got a few Google apps working, but not the play store or flash. I have to get a swf file working & seemingly all swf viewers require flash on the device.
These are not the droids you're looking for.

What you have done is called sideloading but not all apps work this way. Some Google apps don't work since they require Google Play Services which doesn't work on the Kindle. So Google+ will not install or work on the Kindle currently. Google apps also require login which Kindle doesn't provide a method and required a bit of tweaking which can be done. I hope that clears things up.

Need Help with my Rooted Kindle HDX 7" and 8.9"

Alright Guys I am writing it pretty much brief explaining what happened with my kindles
It started when I came on this forum and tried to root my kindle using the method
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=59156161&postcount=56
After I tried it on my both kindles and successfully rooting them, I downloaded and installed the google play store app and it worked like a charm and I was pretty much happy for it. But the Issue started when all of sudden the apps which were linked with google app store i.e clash of clans stopped working. I opened the play store app and tried to install any random app but it does not downloads and installs it. Then after 5 6 unsuccessful attempts, I just reset the kindle. It does not affected the kindle and I reset for like 3 - 4 times but nothing worked. Then what happened? (adding the picture too) That kindle does turns on but it shows different welcome screen where I can choose the language and after choosing language, it says me to connect to wifi and then nothing comes up. There is no navigation buttons i.e Home button and Back button and no main screen coming. Then I tried to open silk browser going into applications and downloading the 1mobile market, I installed ES file explorer and checked, it shows that the kindle is still rooted. I added the firmwares to the kindle to check if that works but no it does not. Moreover I tried to connect the kindle with ADB but it says no device listed over there
Now this was the story regarding Kindle Fire HDX 7"
I came back from work and was trying to use my kindle HDX 8.9" and exactly same issue is coming to it. I tried to open clash of clan app and again it shows me blank screen. I tried to clear the cache of app and restarting the tab but the problem still does persists. Now I am in no mood to repeat the same steps what I did with my HDX 7"
So guys if you people can help me in fixing this issue would be thankful to you all
