[Q] Cyanogenmod 11, TouchWiz Apps - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, I want to install CM11 (I know it's still nightly but anyway I want to) but I would like to have some touchwiz apps like S Memo, Music Player, Video Player, and maybe the keyboard and the launcher from 4.3 MK6; because I like those apps. Is there any port of some of these apps for CM 11? Would I be able to install at least some of these apps in CM11 ? and if there's a way to install them, how can I do it? Thank you for reading this.

no they all need touchwiz framework, which isn't there in cm11
but for all of them there are better alternatives:
music player: google music, poweramp
video player: mx player (can play everything)
keyboard: stock cm11/google keyboard, swipe or swiftkey
s memo: ok there I don't know, but I am sure there is one

Hahaha ok. Isn't there any themed Note 3 or s4 launcher or something?

sorry but these apps rely on touchwiz framework and it is very diffcult to port them to a no samsung rom.
but there are so many launcher alternatives. for example nova launcher. or I am using next launcher.
just as a suggestion: maybe a modded sammy rom would be more suitable for you?

Requesting Stock calendar widget.

Does anyone happen to have the stock calendar widget? For some reason I lost it along the way of changing roms and using apex launcher.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda premium
Do you see the stock application installed in your app drawer? If so, the problem may be that you are not seeing the widget because you are not in the stock touchwiz launcher as that is the only launcher where you can use the stock widgets in. Hope that helps.
Ah, you're probably right... Is there a way to make them work with apex?
www.TheShortBusRiders.com
I have never seen or heard of anyone doing that with any launcher specific widgets (i.e. go launcher, launcher pro) so I highly doubt it but will continue to look around and post again if i find anything.
The stock aosp calendar is in the Play store and the widget works great. I have it on my Note with Touchwiz

Porting of the S-Planner widget for third-party launchers

Hey guys
I've been using the S-Planner widget for a while and found this to be pretty comfortable.
Since I'm on the Nova Launcher I simply can't access it now. Seems as if Samsung has built a limitation in there (?)
So my question to the developers in here is the following :
Is it possible anyhow to port this widget so we can install and use it on third-party launchers like Nova Launcher or the GO! Launcher EX?
PS: If this is the wrong section I'd like to ask a mod to move it anywhere desirable.
Thank y'all in advance

Looking for a launcher with folders in a drawer

I really like the new TW launcher in latest leaked JB and I would use it on daily basis if it would support multi dpi settings.. but it doesn't so I'm looking for a launcher that is similar to TW.
Specifically I'm looking for a launcher that as smooth as Apex or Nova but but supports folders within application drawer. The only I know of is GO but its so overloaded that I don't want to use it really. Apex, Nova don't support folders in a drawer do they. I've got 100+ apk on my phone so don't want to scroll through them each time i'm looking for something.
And there as dozens on the market so don't fancy installing every single launcher just to check whether it supports folders or not.
Any suggestions anyone?
The stock launcher support folder in app drawer but I think it's buggy (some apps get scattered on reboot for me). The paid version of nova support folders too, idk about apex.

Sorry, but Go Launcher takes up a LOT of space. I'm suffering from the same problem.

Yup, Nova Launcher Prime says that it has folder support, didn't test it yet.
Nova launched prime defo has folders in app drawer and they work well

As I said stock TW is good for me but doesn't support 180 dpi which I'm using at the moment.
Thank you for directing me to Nova. Had prime for long time but didn't realized it supports folders. It's going to be my main launcher for now, folders works really good and its blazing fast, just as TW on JB.

The one in his rom is the stock 4.1.2 touchwiz music player widget. I haven't seen any other music players that come with a comprehensive widget like the stock samsung touchwiz music player.

What do you mean? It will only work on 4.1.2 touchwiz based roms. You can't have it on aosp/aokp-based roms.

bro you dont need to flash anything...go the General Section and you will find a thread mentioning the 4.4 launcher...just download the .apk files and install it like any launcher...it will have the Google Experience Launcher and the updated Google Now...
Use nova launcher beta.its almost like kitkat experience and much better.for me stock kit kat launcher a bit laggy

The stock kitkat works smoothly for me, but it consumes similar ram as compared to touchwiz, as the Google now is always running...

I think in newer version of android everything will be google Google Google means recently they copied idea of making hangout as a default messages app from fb chat that was using this idea very long ago and I never like that idea means as using Internet u think that u messages will be sent free but u get ****ed when there is a charge deduction from another sim that u only used for Internet that sucks man. And as u know that while u was using stock rom than most of ram was covered via Google apps like hangout chrome etc that I never used. As u using Android is not means that u use only too much heavy battery ram consuming apps if we removed many if unused google apps than our cell be more ram free smooth and battery life will be more than 2 days and all these are tested by me and I am using all these twikes in my cell presently.
And for google now what we need of this as we can use samsung voice that is pretty good than google now and as in normal life how much we use Google now or voice menas when u were outside that time these things not work in crowd.
