Hey is there any chance you could list all the apps that get uninstalled? If you can show that none of the apps I like will be removed, I'll definitely give this a shot!!

Wish we could get aN Aroma version...

Added more details. Once you flash this, you can just manually download the apps that you *need* from Google Play.

Doesn't work

Can you be more specific please? Are you rooted ? And what did you use to flash it? (I have used Safestrap recovery and it has worked perfectly. I haven't tried flash gordon app).

I tried it on a different rom, did exactly what it said it does.

Just out of curiosity...Can someone else comment on how their battery life has been after debloating stuff?
So far mine has been off the chart. :victory:

I want to try this but I'm running xnote 7. Would it be safe to flash this? Or does this only work with the stock rom? Thanks for your efforts!

Will work on X-note too. Its wont remove any AT&T stuff because it wont be there. It will only remove the bloat that is actually present in X-note

This does work!...I tried it on three different roms and love it..good work brother!

Dude it seems like you removed some pretty standard stuff that a ton of people use and find nnecessary. Agreed the att bloat and knox crap are the first things to get removed ASAP after rooting, but Gmail? YouTube? All the sync files and sync server settings? And the Ant system patches? You do realize these are data and voice implementations to improve network speed and voice service right? Just curious what good would the note be without some of these crucial elements? Essentially a launcher and system files?
Too much for me man but I appreciate the effort
Mega

I confirm this works. Tried on every rom available. Saves lots of time because I debloat everything. #PROPS

Thanks dude...is that the mophie power pack or just the extended battery? Cuz you are literally the only person I've ever seen get those kinda battery life stats on n3. Just wondering what battery you run cuz that's sick.
Mega

@Walter.White
Does the stock music app have any dependencies? That's really the only Samsung app I like to use because of the EQ.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk

First of all here is my battery (on stock battery) life pictures after debloating and installing ONLY the stuff I use.
@megalomanic14 I use that apps too! I just manually downloaded that stuff from Google Play after. Much better that way
@cortez52 I have been getting the same battery-life on the stock battery.. This is purely awesome
@theROMinator Not that I know off. I haven't had any FC yet because of removing that Music app (Let me know if you run into any problems). I know that debloating MY Magazine app makes Email app unstable so I kept that in there. I removed Music app and I just installed ViperFX and Poweramp = Powerful combination :victory:

I'm only using stock battery like Walter. It went dead at almost 8 an a half hours of screen on time! Keep in mind those pics I posted, my battery wasn't even charged at 100 percent! This wouldn't be possible without Walters kick ass script! Thanks again bro!

Slow with opening apps? Or slow user interface? It shouldn't be slow unless he has tonnes of apps.

Do not make him buy a new phone, this phone can be hella snappy actually!
Start by rooting your phone, you can easily find a tutorial just by searching the forum or via google.
My personal preference:
ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1263292
Tweak: V6 SuperCharger Update 9 Beta 6.2.2 (tutorial here)
When installing the tweak, chose option 7 (agressive for 512HP)
APPS: Autostart (find it in market)), preventing useless apps to start, but you must have chose the apps manually.
Auto Memory Manager(find it in market), chose agressive and save the changes.
If he is new at these sort of stuff it could take some time to get it right but it's totally worth spending a day fixing it, he'll get a fast a snappy phone in long term.
Has he tried using the task manager to clear memory? It sounds like he downloaded an application that doesn't behave the way it should (memory/cpu hog). If clearing memory helps he has to find and uninstall the misbehaving app(s), i think there's an app called watchdog or something which monitors memory and cpu usage of all installed apps.
If that doesn't help, go i'd go for a reset. And before buying a new phone, give the custom roms a go because they do tend to increase performance quite a bit!
Thankyou for the quick replies everyone very helpful, he gets force closes on twitter and facebook all the time and also it just randomly shuts down aswell.

hi! regarding the suggested tweak? is there a detailed summary on how to use and instal this type of tweak? ive been reading the post and it seems it only has the overview.. thanks!
my advice is just forget all those mumbo jumbo tweak script. its already incorporated in cfroot kernel. its also doesnt make sense. all it does is doing the same thing. tweak vm dirty, tweak minfree, tweak stagefright and so on with the only difference is the fancy mancy name to make it looks yummy. people just install 2-3 script with different name when all it does is the same, and u actually already done it when using cfroot.
You might also want to avoid CM because it's unstable, just flash a stable custom rom that's still in active development. Make sure to get the latest cfroot kernel version.

They have, but UK operators are notoriously slow with pushing their own, branded versions. Especially on a midrange phone like the Ace. Avoid CM, especially Grif's as that has quite a few bugs. Some bugs in Cyanoace but not as many from my experience.
For starters, root your phone (or get a custom rom with integrated custom root), than download Titanium Backup from Market, and then uninstall all the unnecessary apps, also, delete app and internet cache. That all should make your phone better than new
I would agree about using cfroot.
Root phone with cfroot, titaniumbackup pro backup to sdcard, factory reset, download mode and flash latest stock rom from sammobile.com, root again and then restore apps only, only restore app+data for games.

[App] Face Unlock for TW 4.0.4

As we all notice with the new exciting 4.0.4 release for the SGT-10.1, Face unlock is not available for unlocking the tab!
I have taken the liberty to modify the ICS-04292012-gapps to include Facelock.apk without all the rest of the gapps. So BIG THANKS to the CM team for the zip and the components outside of the facelock.apk. The facelock.apk came from my SGS3 and works perfect on my tab.

This has been tested only on the P7510. Once more people download and report back, I can say if it works with other variants of the 10.1 series.
Confirm working by RavenY2K3 that it works on P7500. He had to clear extra space on the /system partition to have it running.

Scratch that, I delved a little into the system and it appears the amount of space in the ROM partition wasn't enough, it didn't give any errors on flashing to say there wasn't enough but I moved a few things around manually and reflashed the file.... What's needed is to get someone with a 7500 who flashed with PC Odin to see if they have had the same issue I just had, I did it with the mobile version and those people who did the same have found that the hidden.img didn't flash, so some apps weren't available after flashing.

1. You use this at your own risk, if you mess up your phone its your own fault, I'm not responsible for it
2. Make a backup copy of the AccuweatherPhone2013.apk some where on your phone
2. If you are not on at&t, do not try these without a custom recovery (twrp or cwm). Minor differences in these system files can easily cause a boot loop, which in the absence of a recovery can be a soft brick!
3. Copy the AccuweatherPhone2013.apk to /system/app set permissions reboot

I thought it was quiet. I used root explorer on the phone to make the changes. Here's the process I did:
1. Downloaded your file to my PC
2. Extracted the .apk
3. Removed the existing Accuweather widget from my home screen
4. Cleared Accuweather cache
5. Used Root Explorer to copy existing apk to another location (copy, not move)
6. Renamed existing apk to .bak via Root Explorer
7. Copied your apk to the "Download" folder on the phone from my PC
8. Used Root Explorer to drop your apk into the System/Apps directory
9. Rebooted
10. Added widget - worked and looks great
11. Scrolled to the next screen to the right of my home screen
12. Saw my two alarms and Google Song ID widgets missing
13. Added them back
14. Tested all widgets and all are working
So, I don't know if I did something wrong in the process, but that was the exact flow of what I did. Either way, again, thanks. I had been using the 50% Accuweather on my S2 forever. I really like that look and you delivered it on my S4. Adding back a few widgets doesn't bother me at all.
Can anyone re-up this for me?

Is there a decent guide to follow if I wanted to get this to 100% transparent?
I didn't find a guide....but all I did was edit some of the image files didn't do any XML edits

Any chance we can get a deodex'd version? I'm still a noob at this, so if your .apk plus the .odex file will do the same thing, let me know. I'm now running ShoStock on my S4 and it is a deodex'd ROM. Your odex version worked great for me until the switch.

Mysterious File on SD

A mysterious file is always generated on my SD card no matter how many times I format it or delete the file. The file has an extension of "MOLOGIQ" and is usually named ".06ba141d-a652-464b-b7c2-0932d1a1402b.mologiq". I have a fear that it is a spyware application that's hidden in my phone. I really can't seem to get rid of it. Any help understanding this or getting rid of it is much appreciated. My phone is rooted, S-OFF, 4EXT. This occurs on any ROM/kernel and even with full wipes and formatting I can't seem to get rid of it.
Just from googleing it comes up as stealth mode start up advertising, which sounds like a load of crap, don't know how or where you got it but it don't sound good
thisis50.com if its hot its here
If a full wipe doesn't fix it, all I could suggest is formatting SD again, through your PC, then run the ruu

I'm a flashaholic if that's how you spell it. v.v
It shows up on any ROM I use. Even on the ROMs that have full wipe aroma, I've even used ROMCleaner, and all the wipes in 4EXT, including SD. Thanks for the suggestion guys. If anyone else has anymore I can try, you're more than welcome.
Can I use a logcat to detect this app? Maybe format or delete the file and turn on the logcat and then wait until a it returns and find the item in the log?

I go back to factory every once in awhile for a total clean... It's always gone after awhile for that... I'm pretty sure it's an app, rom, or kernel, just not sure which one...

Do you use SuperSU or "Silent Time"?
I'm sure it's not a kernel or a ROM. :/
On my phone it's 1Weather, whenever I go to its settings.
I use supersu, but that has never been a problem... I used titanium and froze friendcaster and it has never come back... I'm 99% sure it's that app for me.

Ah, thank you. I'll try that. Ever since I installed CM 10.1 it hasn't come back. I'm starting to also blame Adaway.
I had the same file on my vibrant and sgs2 i was able to remove mine by using my pc windows 7 and doing a format using fat32. worked on both phones and none came back my guess it was a downloaded app
It was reddit news that cause it for me.

Free up some memory till we get root

If anybody else is having issues running out of memory before we get root, here's what you can do.
Go to Settings>Apps, scroll to all, and see which ones you can Disable.
I haven't had any issues since I did that.
Also, ART has given me a lot of issues. If you don't know what it is then your fine.
Here's a link to see which apps can be disabled. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2829339

Uninstall Sprint Recommended Apps. Or it reinstalls Nascar/NBA and all the other crap. I uninstalled them, rebooted, only for Sprint Recommended Apps to reinstall them. I disabled or uninstalled almost all bloatware. Can't get rid of Sprint ID or Sprint Zone. I actually use the Zone tho.

Yeah, the Sprint stuff we're stuck with til we get root/unlock. If Sprint/LG stays true to form, we won't even be able to remove bloat until we get unlock.
I'm a minimalist as far as my phone, so I have very few apps and widgets. Im always modifying things to make stock better.
It amazes me though that we have 3gigs of memory and it easily goes down to 500mb. That's when I start having issues and why I posted this.
I don't even use FB or G+.
Can't wait for root/unlock to see what this phone is really capable of.

Actually I've gotta give it up to Sprint/lg for actually giving us the ability to remove about 95% of the bloat. The very few that I actually couldn't uninstall I just hid. May not be perfect, but an effort was made to allow us some control, and that's a great start. Hope to see more of this in the future. [emoji106]

I hadn't thought to run ART, but I decided to try it out. It's actually super smooth for me, no issues aside from Pandora, but I fixed that. No weird freezes or reboots like I had on my Note. The only thing that hangs slightly is Media Browser, but it's usable.
If only we had Xposed for ART. And root... good things come in time though.
I have been using an app for a few years now with some pretty good customization. Fast Reboot Pro. There is also a lite version. It works great for me. You can decide which apps it handles and if it will free memory when you unlock or lock your phone. Also a widget to free up memory when you need a quick boost, which is the way I use it.

Why would you disable them? Try clearing cache and data on them. If that doesnt work you can try to get copies of the apks.

Unfortunately my phone froze once a day on art.. Plus after I rebooted ..which wss a task in itself ...it would freeze at the yellow startup screen has to pull battery... Which with a otterbox defender is always fun. No issues since I switched back to dalvik

I had no issues with ART for about 2 weeks. Then one night I went to sleep woke up and some apps as well as some games started to act very funny. They would load then crash out the Facebook app itself would hang forever and never work yet the night before everything was working fine. I went back to dalvik and I've had zero issues since that time. ART was nice minus the issues I had I would love to keep using it.
What is this ART everyone speaks of

Android Run Time. It's supposed to be better, more efficient than dalvik. It's under Developer options in settings.
