Thanks for the info. Do you have any experience with the ones for the note 3? It looks like the protectors wrap around the sides. I just wanted to confirm and see some pictures if possible

I bought a full body kit for my note 3. I only used the back part since only bumpers fit with the s charging cover. No regrets. Can't comment on side protection and don't really recommend the screen protector because I prefer dry protectors.

Yes. About the same grippyness as the back itself just different material. And a bear motion bumper. Still haven't dropped my phone.

I don't like skinomi protectors on anything with a pen input. It just doesn't slide well. Back protection, sure. Sides, sure. Screen? No way.
The only one I did like with the pen input was the HTC view and that had a different stylus.
I've had skinomi for my note 10, note 8, and a bunch of phones. They work well on the phones (S4, s3, droid razr etc) but with the s-pen it felt terrible. Constantly dragging and digging into the skin. Just not an enjoyable experience.
When I initially installed the protector on my note 10, I gave it two days to settle before using it, and it wasn't enough. I had to leave the thing sit for over a week before it was acceptable and that's not something I have the luxury of doing with my phones. I had even contacted customer support and they were the ones to suggest letting it sit for at least a week before using.
I could assume it was just the amount of solution used, but I've used skinomi products enough to know what I'm doing and I won't waste my time using them for anything with pen input now.

I bought 2 of the skinomi clear ones during the sale. Thanks for the fyi. I just installed the sides and the back one for the camera and use a tempered glass for the front. So far I like it and it gives the phone better side grip. Although I probably wouldn't have bought it if it was regular price however. It would be nice if they just sold the sides and the camera one separately.

Screen protector problem with spen

A pen is impossible to use with zagg screen protector.. What screen protector should be used with this phone that's helpful with using the s pen?
This a very opinion oriented question. SPG is usually pretty good. ZAGG is too soft for the Spen.

+1 here as well, and same goes for my wife's Note 2 and my brother's. We are all running the Verizon screen protectors and it's super smooth and slick, but it's comforting knowing that there is some form of protection on the screen.
So far hasn't interfered with S Pen operation at all.

I've gone through two SPG(spigen) protectors, the ultra crystal and ultra optics. Honestly I don't like either of them. The ultra optics is matte so it's very rough and skips when using the S-Pen, but leaves no scratches and very little blemishes or fingerprints in the screen protector. The ultra Crystal is actually very nice and smooth, and almost feels like glass, but it gets surface scratches from everything, ESPECIALLY the S-Pen! It works great, and isn't usually noticeable, but if the screen is dark you can see it's scratched to high hell...but at least it's the protector that's scratched and not the screen.
For $15, I definitely don't think they are worth it at all, and I plan to send both of them back. Might have to try the Verizon one if they are that good. Mainly just want a smooth surface that doesn't scratch the protector, and works smoothly with the S-Pen.

i am using a screen protector from bestskinsever.. its great. pretty smooth for a ghost armor/zagg style, doesnt drag on the spen, and looks great. i was afraid the pen would leave marks, but has held up great so far. plus it was super cheap compared to the other brands of scratch proof protectors.
Surprisingly, the Verizon protector isn't so bad as far as pen feel and pretty well priced with my discount. But, i got cat hair under the first one when applying it, the second went back with the phone I had to return but already had some light scratches after 3 days. The third in the pack is on the replacement phone now and I'm waiting for a "just like glass" to arrive shortly. I ordered one for my wife's new gs3 too. They are super expensive but reportedly worth it.

I have the SGP Steinheil Crystal Clear on my GN2 and they are perfect, no loss of S-Pen functionality. I can say that I would not have every considered the 3M material based screen protectors based on the material type and that any use of the S-Pen would show up and wreck the material quickly. The SGP ones are $15.99 for a 2 pack or try the ones Verizon sells in a 3 pack for $13 but they are better when it comes to pen use.

Lol that brand name sounds so generic to me. Have you tried it personally?
I bought my Zagg at best buy mobile when me and my wife got our phones this month. they had a promo to get 2 for $35. I immediately took advantage since i hate scratches and smudges on my screen. No complaints really. only thing is, you can definitely tell where the s pen has been when the screen is off. The grooves the s pen leaves are hardly bothersome, but could be annoying to some. The grooves don't seem to ever go away, but are less noticeable the more you use your s pen.
Sent From My Gargantuan Note 2
I think its a toss up. The Spigen SGP protectors are pretty nice and are cheaper. The Invisible Shield HD is the best zagg offering: imo the smudge proof one really makes the screen look bad.
Zagg are more prone to peeling in pockets. Heat above 90 and being in the sun will almost guarantee you'll need a replacement. Spigen covers less of the phones edges.
Sorry I didnt have a coupon

I have them on a acer, macbook air, nexus 7 and my note. They are awesome, cheap and the service is great.
Honestly you will be greatly disappointed if you plan on using your S-Pen at all, every time you use it the indentations will build up and the Zagg Shield will look really crappy. Get something like SGP Steinheil, or something like it they will hold up to S-Pen use and daily abuse.

I ordered one over the weekend, should be here on Thursday. Over at AndroidCentral there is a user in the GN3 forum who did get one from ATT and she is pretty happy with it.
I got one from the att store. The store lady did a great job putting it on for me. I am very happy with it so far, very clear & smooth, the pen glides smoothly over it. Btw, they only charged me $35 for it.

Good price, it's $40 on Amazon, $45 from bodyguards.com.
Does it have rounded edges? If not it's more likely to chip and maybe lift.

The edges are rounded and follow the shape of the phone, not sure if that's what you meant.
I've had it for a week and carry it in my pocket without a case. No lifting problems yet. I guess time will tell as to how well it holds.

No, I mean if you laid it flat & looked at it from the side is the top edge curved so there is less grab when your finger or the edge of a case rub against it.

I don't think the edges are curved. If I run my finger across the edge i can feel it. But I do like the screen protector!!

using the bodyguard tempered glass. it doesn't have round edges but i love it. it makes the phone look premium. no lifting. would recomended but not for $45. since you can get same quality with rounded edges like bason or spigen. bodyguard also includes lifetimewarranty which is good and it can justified the high price.
I put my bodyguardz one on last night. I found that I needed to let it sit and sort of get itself adhered to the glass. Otherwise when I put my Diztronic case on it the screen protector kept lifting up on one corner. After about 10 minutes it was fine and hasn't been an issue again.

to answer your questions as best I can from MY EXPERIENCE.( on note 2 )
The protection factor is top notch.. however, bulk is detracting from phone styling- the volume and power buttons require much more pressure to activate them. also, the built in plastic screen shield which is built into the front outer shell, is rather ugly- floats above the phone, rainbow effects usuaally- humidity gathers below it and actual screen. and holsster is susceptible to breakage when exiting, entering your vehicle. ( happened twice to me..otterbox warranteed both times.
all outlets and ports are covered by a durable flap door, and once opened, access is easy. so my review- from 1 to 10, 10 being best is 9.. penaly for tough buttons and rather blandness/bulkiness of case size.. something like commuter might be less bulky- with less protection..thats where my curiosity of other cases comes in..( ie trident aegis, uag, seidio etc.): but- if you go with otter defender, the plastic screen can be removed ( voids warranty though) and you can use a spg type protector to avoid the ranbows, humidity buildup. I just traded up to the Note 3 myself- so decided on Trident Krakken ( returned UAG Case) Removal and install is a Major Headache.
I have the note 2 as well as the otterbox on it lol

Picked my Defender up today. Overall it looks really good. Unlike my Note 2 Defender case, the note 3 defender doesn't seem to be as bulky.
Getting the inner shell on was tight. Damn tight, but it went on.
I run defenders on all my phones. This is the best one as far as form and fashion that I've owned.
The Best Buy website showed that one of my 2 local Best Buy stores (within 1 mile from each other, but one is a Best Buy Mobile in the mall) had the Commuter in stock earlier today. I drove up there to check it out, but they didn't have any. I checked their site again while in store and it didn't show either store having it any more. I didn't plan to buy it anyway, just wanted to check it out and see how it looked and fit. Their site also showed them having the Qi compatible battery door. Even though their site DID still show it being available while I was there, they couldn't find it even though their system also showed them having 2 in stock. About an hour after getting home, and 2 hours after they had closed, an employee who I left my name & number with texted me saying that she did find the Qi battery door and was going to hold it for me!

I could not imagine it being bulkier than the Note 2 Defender. That thing's a brick!
Otterbox should come out with an Armor Series for the Note 3! If someone tries to jack you for your phone you could swing it around and clobber them in the kisser. That thing would be a weapon!
I'd buy one because it would be the equivalent of a toughbook but in a phone...

Cruzerlite Bugdroid case

I've had this case on my GNex, my G2, and now my G3. Always great quality and feel for the case. I usually get black but this time I got red. Normally I give this case a perfect score but I'm not liking the company logo in the center of the Android this time. I have this case and the Spigen slim armor and recommend both. This TPU case feels thinner obviously.
I feel the same way about the logo. I hope this phone becomes popular enough for them to male a few different styles. Cruzerlite has always been top notch in quality and customer service for me.

I really like these cases (I've had one on my Nexus 7 2013 for almost a year now), however, I've noticed as you mentioned the TPU is very thin. The case is great, but it has become stretched out in one corner over time and now it just looks a little weird, even though its not extremely noticeable unless you are holding the device. Are any of these issues still present in the newer ones? I was thinking about picking one up for my G3, but I don't want to to get stretched out and look bad or cause damage to the phone if it comes off during a drop.
I've never had that problem with any of the cases I've owned. Might be a tablet case problem. These cases have been solid for me.

I was considering this since the reviews say that it's still pretty slim while also providing decent protection. My question, though, is what is the texture of the case? Does it feel grippy?
I want a case that has some kind of traction in my hands so that it feels secure without me having to always feel like I should have an iron grip on it.
I have a Ghostek hard case which does offer a bit more trip than the stock back of the phone, but honestly not by much. I want something that will stay in my hands.

It has a smooth feel but not too slick. It doesn't feel sticky link the cases they had at the Verizon store. I wouldn't call the best grip but it's worked for me so far. My old Cruzerlite case on my GNex had ridges on the side that gave a better grip. The G3 model does not.
For $10 on Amazon, I think it's worth a go if to aren't looking for something that feels tacky.
It's a soft rubber feel to it. Not slippery. Best way to describe it is a "matte" feel to it. I like it.
