I go to this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2370987
Flash tool: SP_Flash_Tool_v3.1252.1.104
I took this part from link above to do for my phone
ROM with ALL the files needed to flash with SPFT
________________________________________
Instructions for put CWM v6.0.2.8 with SPFT (SP_Flash_Tool_exe_v3.1316.0.150.zip):
******** Remember: I am not responsible for your actions. ********
No need to ROOT! But you must have experience with SP Flash Tool (SPFT).
For more details to put "recovery.img" using SPFT you see Flashing only part of the ROM: [TUT]MTK Android (Sp flash tool ) tutorial
Basic instructions:
** All necessary files (scatter and recoveryCWM) are in CWM BLU Life Play L100i - by lopestom.zip. Also have all the drivers installed correctly.
1. In SPFT select only option "RECOVERY". Press in word "RECOVERY" and choose recoveryCWM [recovery.img] in folder [CWM BLU Life Play L100i - by lopestom];
2. With your device WITHOUT BATTERY - press in SPFT the option "DOWNLOAD" and select "yes";
3. Connect USB in your device WITHOUT BATTERY;
4. The process start;
5. You know this make sucess when appears a green circle.
Using SPFT to flash all files or whatever it is needed:
Conditions for using the file BLU Life Play - SPFT: The device must have ALL the specifications as BLU Life Play!
I make a prayer so that you do not need these files.
If you need flash files, make sure it will do. Generally you only need to "revive" your device using only the selection "ANDROID (system)".
*** I have left two files scatter.tx. The preferred is that without the file selection "preloader" [MT6589_Android_scatter_emmc NO PRELOADER.txt]. Thus, you will be safer not to get brick as Master rua1 indicated here.
Quote:
Never needlessly Download preloader and DSP_BL blocks! It is always dangerous! On some models of phones (for example Alcatel) you will have a brick even if you download these blocks read from phone which you own! Always remove from them marks in SPFT!
**** However, if you very really need, much more needed, then you should use the other scatter.txt [MT6589_Android_scatter_emmc WITH PRELOADER.txt] that I put with on the folder.
Create a folder with name BLU Life Play - SPFT in your PC and copy all files zipped. After extract this you see:
Code:
boot.img
cache.img
EBR1
EBR2
LK
logo.bin
MBR
MT6589_Android_scatter_emmc NO PRELOADER.txt
MT6589_Android_scatter_emmc WITH PRELOADER.txt
preloader.bin
recovery.img
system.img
userdata.img
Download required files for SPFT: ----------------------->>>>>>>>> password: BLP
Part 1 (143MB) -- BLU Life Play - SPFT.part1.rar ---- Part 2 (143MB) -- BLU Life Play - SPFT.part2.rar ---- Part 3 (45MB) -- BLU Life Play - SPFT.part3.rar
So at this point you should not thank me. Make a thank you to all the real developers who make the correct software to save our device and also those who build ROMs, applications and software to create CWM.
Make a donation ($) for them. I already made my donation.
Thanks and credits for this to happen: Master Russian Shifu Michfood, Master Shifu rua1, Master Shifu bgcngm, Master yuweng and falcaobr.

Good luck and have a nice day.............................

Ok.. Hi everybody..
I'm a bit new at this so bare with me....
To root the 985 you basically need this:
- Installed Drivers VERY IMPORTANT!
- Installed ADB shell (To open ADB command prompt go into the install folder of adb -> sdk -> platform tools -> hold SHIFT and right click -> select open command prompt window here) - this was the command line for me - for you it might be different!
- Create ROM backup following these instructions:
- Open ADB command prompt (described above) and enter adb shell cat /proc/mtd
- If all goes well copy the results into notepad and save the file as firmware.info
- After that open MTK 65xx ROM Studio
- Go File -> Load Firmware.info -> select the file you generated earlier
- Notice that the window is now filled with data from your file -> click Create ROM
- Now save that file somewhere easily accessible it's your SCATTER file needed a bit later.
- Open SP Flash Tool (Make sure MT 65x3 USB VCOM drivers are installed )
- Go Options -> USB Mode
- Then press SCATTER-LOADING to the right and select your SCATTER file generated earlier (ignore messages)
- Go into the read-back tab
- Select every checkbox (to make FULL Backup,) or just what you need (Bootimg.img) select where to save Backup!
- When the windows appear make sure that READ PAGE ONLY is selected!
- Press READ BACK (by this point your phone hasn't been connected at all to the PC)
- Now turn off your phone, pull out the battery, hold VOLUME UP, plug the phone in and THEN quickly put the battery back in!!!
- If all goes well you should see one red bar and one or several blue ones (depending on what you selected to backup)
- This can take a while, BOOM Green circle
- BACKUP IS DONE!
- Now on to the rooting stuff:
- In SP Flash Tool (I am expecting that you closed it and opened it again)
- Check to see if USB Mode is enabled (see above)
- Load the SCATTER file again
- Then when you see the files and checkboxes in the window under click on BOOTIMG and SELECT the one
that is attached to this post (!!!!NOTE This is the same BOOTIMG from the serbian video on youtube WE ONLY NEED THE BOOTIMG FROM THIS GUY NOTHING ELSE ESPECIALLY NOT THE SCATTER!!!!)
- Ignore the following messages
- Make sure that your phone is not plugged in, turned off and battery removed
- Press Download, wait 15 sec, plug the phone in THEN insert battery
- Wait for it.. (Nice one)
- A yellow bar will go across and BOOM Green circle
AT THIS POINT YOU HAVE FLASHED YOUR BOOTIMG IF YOU HAVE DONE THIS RIGHT THERE WOULD BE NO PROBLEMS, IF IT'S DONE WRONG YOUR PHONE MIGHT NOT RECOGNIZE THE SIM CARD (IF THIS HAPPENS DO THE LAST STEP AGAIN BUT WITH THE BOOTIMG FROM THE BACKUP)
- Unplug phone, remove battery, insert battery -> BOOT
If it boots, OK, if not flash back with backup (see above written in BIG letters
- Download SuperOneClick and open it
- Plug in your phone TURNED ON!
- Click Root. Reboot. DONE
If anything else pops up you have a problem with the drivers make sure that the drivers are correctly installed (stupid Windows rrrr...)
Now you have rooted you ALCATEL OT-985n/d and can do all kinds of crazy stuff... :cyclops:

Need help in restoring Android and custpack
Hi everybody!
I need some help to restore my 985. I succeeded rooting the phone with this great guide but I messed up with /custpack trying to remove some factory apps (facebook, operator apps...) with the result of having an unusable device stuck in the boot process and rebooting before the system is up in an infinite cycle.
I tried to restore my custpack backup made before rooting with no results. After some whole nights spent asleep to find factory ROM or updates
which seems can't be found on the net, I took the fool decision to format the whole ROM trying to make One Touch Updater S search the firmware and restore the phone but it didn't, leaving me with a message like "You already got the latest version for your phone" (kidding?).
I managed to restore some partition backups with SP Flash Tool. Now the phone can turn on, show the battery-charging logo, the android logo and the recovery system. But it won't boot in normal mode: it gets stuck at the Android logo with no further steps. ADB can discover and recognise the stuck device, but won't let me reach a shell ("/system/bin/sh not found" or something similar). SPFT seems to let me download the Android and custpack images but at the end it fires an error about DRAM.
Is there any Alcatel One Touch 985 user that can send me Android and custpack images to restore my phone?
Hallo guys. Thanks for opening this thread.
My OT985 is stuffed with bloatware from an Italian Carrier, that makes it impossible to download updates and new apps (I can't even download G+).
Do you think that flashing an original stock rom will fix my issue? Does anybody out there have a non-branded backup rom I could possibly use?
Thank you for any help and replies.

help me for mt65x3 driver
hi all,
i need help for installing the mt65x3 driver.
My ot 985d has USB\Vid_1bbb&Pid_00f2&Rev_0255&MI_01
USB\Vid_1bbb&Pid_00f2&MI_01
this device is by Mt65x3 Driver Installation not suported.
Sorry for my bad english, im for german
Thanks for our help ! ! !
Hi to all . Is there any user of 985d who can back up and send me the original boot.img of the device?
Hi all,
first I was runing into numerous problems with this guide, so I switched to this one and I managed to do a lot more: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=38337401&postcount=5
But with that other guide, I couldn't go further than step 8, because error "PMT changed for the ROM, it must be downloaded." would pop-up.
The same would happen if I followed the steps after "Now onto the rooting stuff" - the error "PMT changed for the ROM, it must be downloaded." pops-up instead of a "green circle".
Can anyone help resolve this?

Hi All,
I have this phone:

Kernel v : 3.4.0 ([email protected]) (gcc version 4.6.x-google 20120106 (prerelease) (GCC) ) #1 SMP Thu Dec 20 15:21:47 CST 2012
Google play recognizes it as : Alps E1901_v77_jdt1_9p017_fwvga
The usual Note-II n7100 replica with 5.3'', with Android 4.1.1, 2 x 1GHz, 512Mb RAM + 512Mb ROM (the auction and the box however say 1.2Ghz and 1GB ROM... bloody Chinese sellers...)
I managed to root it as explained here:
forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=38015722&postcount=90
And while I was trying to get 2.5Gb of ROM through a new EBR1 img, I think I have flashed the wrong image (the phone doesn' t boot anymore....). I made backups for boot, recovery and system but not for the EBR1 and MBR.
Would anyone with same phone share these 2?
I thank in advance.
Best wishes
Anyone willing to help?
I just flashed the wrong ROM and the screen became all white....
Lesson learned: it has to be jdt1 and not jbl1 the ROM....
I wonder what these means: screen model?
I have the same phone

I have the same phone I think. I was looking to root as well. The problem I have with my phone is that I cannot get the GPS to work. Everything appears to work but I cannot get location in maps by GPS. I have assumed either the GPS chip has a fault or the ROM version has a bug in the rush to load jelly bean by the seller. I have installed the app. GPS Data to try and analyse what is going on. I know that A-GPS is working as I get approximate locations in Maps and the Satellite locations show up in GPS Data (typically 10 or 12 satellites) but the phone cannot lock into any of these. If your GPS was working then I probably have a physical fault and not a ROM bug. If you had the same problem then I will tackle flashing a new ROM
Hi!
My GPS was working. Now it's not because I don't have the right ROM.
Your problem seems common....Have you tried to tweak the engineer mode?
Dial the following code : *#*#3646633#*#* and go to Location. There's a few utilities that can help you.
Also this guy gives a few ideas: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2063255
And this one: http://www.talkingmobi.com/fix-gps-questions-fastcardtech-com/
Hope this helps!
If you have the JDT1 FWVGA version would you mind sharing your ROM with me?
I have managed to install the JBL1 ROM but neither the camera nor the GPS are working
Thanks
By the way if you want to increase your /data partition (if it's like mine you only have 512MB) to 2.5Gb (shrinking the internal phone storage which, if you have an external SDcard it does nothing), you can use this:
Mt657xRepartition_EN.apk : http://chinamobiles.org/attachment.php?attachmentid=24827&d=1358151587
Phone must be rooted for this to work!
Just install it, try to guess the english-russian on it: select 2.5GB, reboot in recovery and do factory reset (wipe data and cache).
It should reboot with a huge amount of space to install apps.
If anyone willing to dump the stock rom, here a procedure:
http://androidforums.com/micromax-a...mp-restore-micromax-a90-spft-cwmr-method.html
The stock scatter file: MT6577_Android_scatter_emmc.txt
https://www.dropbox.com/s/frkg77bx1b4zg2m/MT6577_Android_scatter_emmc.txt
more on gps
Thanks for the responses. I am away overseas and WiFi access is not all that good. I am willing to share the ROM I have proving I can get some assistance on how. I will be home mid March and in a better position to get on with this. I hope to follow up then.
Regards Greg
Thanks Greg. That would be great! I will assist you with what you may need.
About the GPS. I managed to have my working with the wrong ROM. In fact the gps.conf was empty in my phone. I got this file from one of the links I posted above, then I did what they say: Engineer mode -> Location -> GPS click “on” (it will auto update data) -> Click view and waited a minute or so until I started to see a few green satellites. I did this in open air. No buildings around.
Best wishes
Ric
updates
Hi Ric. looks like I have persuaded my seller to give me a refund. I need to return the phone unmodified. Is it possible to safely copy the Rom without rooting. I recall seeing a PC program that does this but I can't find it at present. I will have to do any copying by Wednesday next week if it can be done simplyregards. Greg
SP Flash tools - dump ROM, no ROOT needed
Hi Greg
Thanks a lot for your reply. I tried to summarise all the procedure below. The links you see are from my Dropbox so no security issues. I hope you manage to follow all the steps.
1. Installation of the of the MT6575 USB VCOM drivers
Download: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ljuco7d3efi7khk/MT6575 USB VCOM drivers.zip
And unzip it.
I had problems installing this, so I would go directly to the Windows hardware wizard and install it from there:
- Start c/windows/system32/hdwwiz.exe (as admin)
- Click next
- Manually select hardware
- List all devices
- Select the driver (for example usb2ser_Win764.inf)
- from the List select "MediaTek Preloader USB VCOM Port"
(or you can install other drivers from the list if Preloader is not enough… normally it is)
2. Let’s see if the preloader is recognised:
- Turn off your phone.
- Remove the battery.
- Connect your phone via the USB cable and wait for it to be found.
It should be found. You can also check in the Device Manager -> Ports. The Preloader Mediatek preloader should be there.
3. Install SP Flash tools.
Download it from here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/b295etf57v5gaq1/SP Flash Tool v3.1224.01.rar
4. Download the scatter file for this ROM (my copy): https://www.dropbox.com/s/frkg77bx1b4zg2m/MT6577_Android_scatter_emmc.txt
Keep the same name: MT6577_Android_scatter_emmc.txt
5. Open SP Flash Tool: SP_Flash_Tool_v3.1224.01\Flash_tool.exe
Click Scatter-loading button to load the correct scatter file: MT6577_Android_scatter_emmc.txt
and ignore any message that may appear.
6. If the phone is still connected to the PC, remove the USB plug, wait a few seconds and connect it again.
REMEMBER: Turn off your phone, remove the battery before connect the USB (and don't turn on the phone!).
The SP Flash Tool should show something on the bottom bar when you reconnect your phone.
7. Do a Read-Back (dump the rom to the PC):
- In SP flash tool go to the tab read-back:
- Click Add
- Click twice in the row created
- Add the file name as in the table below and OK
- Add Hexadecimal addresses for start and length as in the table below (don’t worry if SP Flashes add more zeros after the 0x).
Those addresses are based on the scatter file. For example, let's say that you wish to backup the boot image (BOOTIMG partition), taking into consideration that it begins on 0xf88000 and the next partition (RECOVERY) begins on 0x1588000, then the partition size is 0x1588000 - 0xf88000 = 0x600000 (You can type this on google and it gives you the answer!)
- Do this for all the entries in the table
- Once this is done, click on the “Read Back” button. If the SP Flash tools does nothing, just unplug and plug back again the USB cable (remember, no battery!)
Name Start adress Length FileName
PRELOADER 0x0 0x40000 preloader_e1901_v77_jdt1_9p017.bin
DSP_BL 0x40000 0x5C0000 DSP_BL
MBR 0x600000 0x4000 MBR
EBR1 0x604000 0x4000 EBR
UBOOT 0xf28000 0x60000 uboot_e1901_v77_jdt1_9p017.bin
BOOTIMG 0xf88000 0x600000 boot.img
RECOVERY 0x1588000 0x600000 recovery.img
SEC_RO 0x1b88000 0x600000 secro.img
LOGO 0x21e8000 0x300000 logo.bin
ANDROID 0x26e8000 0x31900000 system.img
CACHE 0x33fe8000 0x20100000 cache.img
USRDATA 0x540e8000 0x20100000 userdata.img
It should save all the files in the path you gave.
This link show some images of the SP Flash tool in case you may check the behaviour of the procedure: http://bm-smartphone-reviews.blogspot.fr/2012/04/creating-rom-dump-of-your-mt65x3-device.html
Now you can Zip everything and make it available on Dropbox for example.
Hope you manage to do all this.
Best wishes
Ric.
No Success
Hi Ric,
No success with the procedure you mentioned. Basically I ran out of time and the seller was pestering me to return the phone. I had trouble loading the drivers in WinXP. They said loaded successfully but device still not recognised.
Where you might get help is from a guy Greg Tay. He is Singapore Chinese (good english skills) and seems to act as an agent for "FastTechCard" which is a Chinese seller for cloned phones. (A rotten company to do business with). He has a blog and has frequent posts on UTube and manages to reflash a ROM every time he has any issues. I suspect he has a collection ROMs which might be interchangeable with many of these phones. If you search Utube on Galaxy Note 2 clone you will come across him. He seems to use a Zopo rom a lot.
Thanks a lot for all your technical advice. I've got an old Chinese G10 Pad which is sacrificial to practice on.
Best of luck, Greg
Hi Greg,
Thanks a lot for your reply. I will try to get in touch with that guy.
Best wishes
Ric.

I managed to have the screen working again with a mix of ROMs. But still no cameras nor volume keys.
I suggest you to look up on google for the ROMs that I have in the image below. This partly worked for me:
Next week or so I can upload this if you don't manage to get your phone working (I don't have the files with me now.)

I'm here for help you, and yes I bought K900
Here is the international .inb file to flash.
Part One: How flash international version:
1. create SDFUSE folder in the / of sdcard.
2. insert inb file there
3. go to fastboot mode (Vol+ + Power) and choose sdfuseupdate
4. done.
you'll get official international 47 rom (ROW region). It has google apps, it has play store.
INB file is here:
https://mega.co.nz/#F!xNdywAJA!AFbE_HikuoFODLpoc1j7Yg
But right after the message saying SDCARD UPDATE COMPLETED (as i remember it), the phone wont start again. The three buttons on the front flashes and nothing else happens.
Any clues to what might be the problem?
I hope you can help me!
Best regard

Question
Hi Jonas,
Sorry to hear that.
Did you totally brick your phone? Can you still go into recovery or Hboot?
Is your phone recognized by adb and fastboot?
If you tell me more, maybe I can help.

hi tatu63
Me too got my K900 bricked while updating Rom from MFT .
Its not starting anymore. Complete black screen no menu lights at all.
When i connect my phone to usb cable it shows this in MFT tool and hangs up
07/01/14 12:47:15.886 DEBUG : New Android device -> serial: MedfieldEC710F76 status: 0 port: 1
and

[Q] P780 bricked after flashing (wrong) ROM - doesn't boot

[SOLVED] Read careful through the thread, and if you have the same problem, check the messages on the second page for a solution
Hi all,
Recently got a Lenovo P780 4gb, Chinese version.
It came with VIBE UI 1.0, installed by the vendor.
Now, I wanted to have a different ROM without the Chinese characters here and there, and reading through the forums, I decided to flash a stock ROW version, and then upgrade to another custom ROM.
So I downloaded the 4Gb P780_S123_ROW_131231 version from elsewhere on the forum.
Using the SP Flash tool, it started flashing, and on the bottom I saw some info saying DRAM 8Gb, which worried me because I thought it might have been the wrong version, but the flash completed, green circle shown.
Then tried to reboot...nothing. Phone wouldn't even turn on.
Plugged it again into PC through USB, and the red light comes on, and instead of the device being recognized as a MT Preloader device, it now connects just as a MediaTek USB Port.
The SP Flash tool still recognizes 'something', but when trying to download or upgrade firmware (with another ROM), then the red progress bar goes to 100% quickly, but then hangs, and I see the error message in the log (timestamps removed):
BROM_DLL[4312][2988]: ERROR: MT6589EMISettingFactory::IsComboDiscreteDram(): Bootloader sub-version (MTK_BLOADER_INFO_SUB_VER_00) is not supported! (FlashToolLib/source/common/generic/src/emi_setting.cpp:557)
BROM_DLL[4312][2988]: ERROR: DummyEMISetting::GetDramEMISetting(): Unsupported! (FlashToolLib/source/common/generic/src/emi_setting.cpp:610)
BROM_DLL[4312][2988]: ERROR: FlashTool_Connect(0x05CA13A8): SyncWithDA(): fail! (FlashToolLib/sv5/common/generic/src/flashtool_api.cpp:937)

BROM_DLL[4312][2988]: com_sentry::Close(\\.\COM6, 0000284C): OK! (FlashToolLib/host/windows/com_sentry.cpp:650)
Now, the above error is supposedly caused by using an incorrect ROM. But what would be a correct one ? I assume chinese but what version or it doesn't matter ?
I also downloaded the P780_S135_130917_rooted_twrp_gapps but when opening the scatter file, I see an entry UBOOT that is not available in the ROM, and I cannot download it(above error) or upgrade (UBOOT missing).
Any tips or do I now have a fancy paperweight ?

Hi. This phones are a little tricky to reflash after is softbriked. Just in case try to reflash with Life 0.7 for 4GB Firmware.
Here is the link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/lenovo-p780/development/life-rom-lenovo-p780-t2666626
Here is a litle HOW TO in case of softbriked Lenovo P780:
Step by step you wil do this:
>>>>> USE WINDOWS 7 FOR THIS TUTORIAL <<<<<<<<<<<
>>>>>>>>>>REMOVE THE USB CALBLE FROM PHONE! <<<<<<<<<<<<<
NOW:
- Unpack FlashTools, and Click on Flash_tool.exe
- Select a the MT6589_Android_scatter_emmc.txt in ROM from target_bin folder
- Wait file to be added into Flash Tool
- choose Option->USB Model, click USB Model SKIP THIS STEP IFF SELECTED
–> Choose Option->DA DownLoad All->Speed->High Speed, click High Speed
- Turn off your phone - skip this step if is allready powered off
- "Press F9 (hit Download button)" OR " if upgrade ROM Firmware->Upgrade "
- and ONLY NOW connect your phone into the computer via USB data cable.
- The process will start and a red progress bar will appear after color purple, yellow.
- And green circles display
- Finish !
- You can now safely disconnect your phone and turn it on!
After this tell me iff something goes wrong !
OR
Tell me if your phone is from 04.2014 production.
If it is you must remove the checkbox of the preloader when you flash your custom ROM.
Also highly recommended before manipulation of the phone to do a full backup and backup of NVRAM.
Hi,
Well I flashed the initial ROM with everything checked, so don't know if that can be undone?
I tried flashing the life version you linked to, and tried some other stock roms (like P780_S125_130529,P780_S129_130710), but it's all the time the same.
I start the tool, then unplug phone, press reset button, then click download or upgrade firmware.
In the status bar of the tool, I see a speed in bps, EMMC, COM5 (as long as phone not plugged in, this is USB).
Other ROMS froze the timer in this status bar straight away, it remained 0:00 sec, but with the Life ROM, it keeps counting.
But in the end, it always ends with the same error.
I've attached the log, which includes multiple tries (with PRELOADER unchecked, then again with PRELOADER and PRELOAD unchecked, then with all checked, update and download).
Can't I do something like format it all, then do a fresh install ? Guess it's not that simple
I used the flashtool included, and SP_Flash_Tool_v3.1332.0.187, no difference.
Don't see production date, only see sticker with 02-5707-131911 Lenovo P780 and a number. CMIT ID : 2013CP5888 on the battery itself there is a number 140315
Thanks already for your help and tips.

Nope, Just the numbers from previous post, IMEI, SN, and some other number, but nothing like 04.2014.
The original ROM (when received), was VIBEROM_V1.0_1415_2_ST_P780_OLK_W_A291.
Only found this rom as CWM recovery flashable, not SP Flash.
But at this point, it seems hopeless

Wow thanks The closest version I found on needrom is VIBEROM_V1.0_1415_DEV_P780_OLK_W_A291 but I don't know what format it is, it's still downloading.
And then again, I got it with this VIBEROM already flashed on it, and going into the settings and even built in diagnostics menu (when I could still get there) I don't recall seeing any version numbers even closely related to the numbers I find on the stock roms.
From the official VIBEUI site, it's the wrong format. The software version said something with name lenovohome.net, but I gave up on that, Chinese is beyond my knowledge and Google translate doesn't quite get it
Further, read some people advise just try to dowload PRELOADER, and others talk about volume- and power while plugging in (META-mode?).
But I guess that is not related to the problem.
As I understand it, PRELOADER and bootloader versions do not work together ?
It's a real pity since I used one of the official stock roms found on this site, and it actually flashed without problems.
PS : I see the option to format, including bootloader. In other roms I find UBOOT image. Is there something in this area that I can try
So... What i found is like this:
Your ex system is not a system that installs with Flash Tools.
Here is something what i found:
First Install
1. Flash rom china P780_S129_130710 with Flash Tools

Update : so no, same error.
Since nothing to loose at this point, decided to try SP Flash format (EXCEPT bootloader), and I spotted these lines in the log :
05/14/14 01:24:14.618 BROM_DLL[676][1172]: DEBUG: MT6589EMISettingFactory::LoadEMICfgSetting(): sizeof(BLoaderInfo_v05_ST)(112), m_identifier(MTK_BIN), m_version(V116"Ʉ3Щ, m_start_addr(0x700090), m_num_emi_settings(1). (FlashToolLib/source/common/generic/src/emi_setting.cpp:481)

Given the rom I use comes from a Russian forum, and I see Russian characters, it might be from the image, but maybe something relevant.
Would it help or make it worse to format everything including bootloader, then just flash ...well...something ?

Hi, in another thread, where you were also active, a user mentions P780_136_140306.
Do you know where I can get that ROM ? It would be the only ROM I didn't try yet
Thanks!

Good Luck.
Problem SOLVED !
Hi,
The phone is back to life!
So, here is what I did: thanks to user stympy, who gave some valuable advise, and was actually on the right track.
The phones with a production date starting from 03.2014 have an updated PRELOADER. If you try to use flashing the PRELOADER of any other rom here on these phones, you'll end up like me.
The production date, I think, is printed on the battery (if you have a Chinese model at least).
YOU CANNOT FLASH A PRELOADER OF THE ROMS ON THE FORUM ON PHONES WITH A PRODUCTION DATE 03.2014 OR LATER (at this moment)
So, I found on a Russian forum (sorry XDA but for Lenovo there is a lot more to find on 4PDA than here), a backup of the correct, new preloader.
- I took the P780_S129_130710 ROM, and replaced the preloader.bin with the one in this rom.
- Next, deleted the checksum.ini file in the rom to avoid errors
- Open SPFT, selected the ROM, made sure PRELOADER entry was pointing to the correct preloader.bin
- USB disconnected, I clicked Download with DA DL All with checksum activated
- Plugged in USB
- Flashed without issue, disconnected, and voila, boot!!!
Well, that gave me a Chinese interface, but some screenshot tutorials enabled me to switch it to English.
I luckily took a backup with MobileUncleTools of my IMEI, since that was gone.
Phone seems to work normal, with 2 SIM cards, but a lot of Chinese bloatware.
While I was at it in SPFT, I tried to flash pre-rooted, or ROW versions, but that was unsuccessful so far. Always the good old 4032 error, although I updated the preloader, or some other failures.
However, the problem I'm trying to fight now, is the recovery mode. Can't backup (and not going to try flash ROM through recovery), since I can't mount /data, /emmc, and other crucial partitions. I'm using CWM. My goal is to flash the SLX ROM or any other rom with less bloatware, in English, and stable.
Update : Flashed :
- P780_S135_130917_rooted_twrp_gapps + modified preloader and works fine: had to manually link the UBOOT to the LK file (SPFT did not do it by itself)
- VIBEUI_V1.5_1419_5_DEV_P780_rooted_twrp_gapps + modified preloader and works fine : same problem with UBOOT
- Some other (Chinese) versions. ALWAYS put in the preloader file I attached, and everything went smooth and OK
Decided to not use CWM anymore, it's buggy. I use the built in TWRP recovery, and that works like a charm. No issues whatsoever.
Decided to keep VIBEUI_V1.5_1419_5_DEV_P780_rooted_twrp_gapps, but my preferred one until now was just the old stock version.
Simple and good
I've attached the preloader.bin I used (use at your own risk!), I guess it might come in handy for all of you with the same problem
Note that this particular preloader worked for me on a Chinese model 4Gb, production date 15/03/2014
And thanks again to Stympy for all the help!

I've attached the preloader.bin I used (use at your own risk!), I guess it might come in handy for all of you with the same problem
And thanks again to Stympy for all the help!

The same problem, but...
Hi, I have the same problem - chinese P780 4GB, brand new, 04-2014.
After flashing wrong (as i know it now, but not 2 hours ago) ROM P780_S135_130917_rooted_twrp_gapps my brand new P780 don't want to turn on and seems to be bricked. :crying:
During flashing everything was ok - no errors, mistakes, or something something else wrong. Flashing finished with green circle. I've read carefully all the posts in this thread but I can not repeat your solution cause now Flash Tool can't connect to device. When USB cable is plugged into the phone red light turn on, but my computer didn't see any new devices - no "MTK USB port", or "Android device" or even "unknown device".
Any suggestions?

Thanks for the reply.
Mobile upgrade pops up message that there is no new firmware for my tablet. I think its stock fw wasn't from alcatel. It's custom made by Orange telecomunication company ... don't know what to do next .

Thanks for the upload, share and help!
I was talking about polish part of the Orange corporation, not the international one. So this might be the answer why mobile upgrade not updating my tablet firmware . They don't give a f... .
Also still not booting after flashing system and boot images.
Does your firmware have custpack partition? It is partition with stock apk's and other stuff from alcatel. I was deleting packages from this partition also.
I know i'm asking a lot but if your firmware does have this partition, could you also upload it?
Could you also upload custpack partition? I have no other way to unbrick this tablet .
zzzz
Is this compatible with my l212? I think its not. Can you check my Dump System? If we are the same partition then i can flash that.
How to root?
Hello everybody.
I bought the tablet, and try to find a way to root it.
All the tools I found didn't make the job...
How do you root your device?
Thanks for your support!

I Had some problems with rooting this piece of crap the conventional way, but I managed to do it using iRoot. The bad thing is that iRoot's SU app will keep installing a lot of useless stuff in Chinese. To get rid of them, you first need to install SuperSU from the Play Store (If I recall correctly CWM Superuser will work fine as well, but ChainsDD Superuser won't, so keep this in mind) after rooting it and then using manually remove the Chinese SuperUser apk that comes with iRoot and once you get rid of it, you can uninstall the remaining Chinese apps the normal way.

Okay, if anyone ever has problem with recovering their Pixi 7, here are the steps to make a clean installation using Mobile Upgrade S. The only requirement is to have the device already installed on at least one of your USB ports (otherwise your OS won't detect it, as it will try to install the drivers, but will fail because it sees the device to be disconnecting shortly after plugging it in – at least it was my case):
1. Download Mobile Upgrade S and SP Flash
2. Grab this scatter file.
3. Open the file you just downloaded. Find the following section:
...
partition_index: SYS3
partition_name: PRO_INFO
file_name: NONE
is_download: false
...
Click to collapse
And replace is_download to true;
4. Open Flash tool and in your download section select your edited scatter file.
5. Go to Readback and select Add.
6. Double-click the added line and save it as pro_info.img
7. Set it as follows: Type : hex , Region EMMC_USER , start : 0x100000 , lenght 0x300000
8. Click Read Back, turn off your Pixi and connect it to your PC via USB cable. It should start the read immediately and after few seccond you should get a success messgae. If it's not the case, try a different USB port.
9. After you got your read, disconnect your Pixi and open newly created pro_info.img file in a hex editor.
10. Find your device version (it's soimewhere at the beggining, around adress 0xA3, and looks like XXXI213-XXXXXXX, where X can be any character, for example mine was COXI213-2DRGPL1) and change it to ENXI213-2BALGB1.
11. Replace your software version (Right after your device ver. Mine was AAZY1AAZ0Z0BD00) for AAZY1AAY0Y0BD00.
12. Save changes to your file.
13. Go back to your SP Flash tool > Download tab
14. Select your scatter file. Deselect all checkboxes. Leave PRO_INFO checked only.
15. Click on PRO_INFO location and select the file you just edited.
16. Select Download and connect your Pixi.
17. When done, run Mobile Upgrade S and follow the standard upgrading process (be aware, that it will take a lot of time to download the ROM, as the download speed goes around 20-50 KB/s. It took me aroung 8h to download it).
18. After installation run your Pixi for the first time and wait for it to boot (don't panic if it takes a bit of time. It will be booting for about 2-5 minutes for the first time).
