I would love the ability to be able to bend text within themer instead of having to do it via photoshop.

Hi mate the way I bent the text in my newest theme was using themer zooper. I allowed widget over lapping.
Made the zooper widget then a put the every thing widget over the top.

Zooper is the future, there's not much that you can't do with it. Check out the G+ community for some examples and help.

There is a lot that can't be done in zooper
Music

To be honest when I first used themer it was looking like a stand alone launcher to theme.
But now its no different to using holo HD and uccw and zooper
In fact
Themer instead of holo HD.
Everything widget instead of uccw.
And zooper in both.
So now if that how things will pan out I think i will go back to holo HD as it has more features. Less bugs. Less crashes. Less lag. And is all round smother even when added uccw and zooper.
And in all fairness I never lost a theme due to the launcher when using holo HD uccw and zooper.
And to be honest in my opinion the bugs and crashes are getting worse NOT BETTER.
I hope thing can change for the better as I would like to use a all in one as started not 5 different apps.
As at the moment I'm using themer, zooper pro, zooper themer, uccw and widget locker as if I try to add zooper or the everything widget to widget locker it fails.
Now I'm hoping when lock screen is added to themer it will be better and over time things will be fixed but there have been many versions and yet still in beta with for me more bugs then started with.
This said there are more features then when first released.
And don't get me wrong I fully understand the difficulties in development as I built a few roms for the sony ericcson x8 and many of time I would add 1 feature which would cause 10 conflicts some where else or even a boot loop so I'm not say the themer team are not doing there best to fix because as many of you will know even when a bug is fixed their is a chance that this could cause other bugs.
And that is the the thing with development until done its unknown!
So to me in my opinion it would make sense to not add more features at this time but to focus on ironing out all the bugs and get what we all ready have stable.
Me for one would be more then happy to wait 3 months for more features but knowing that when more things do come it will be stable ( there is nothing more annoying then spending 4-6 hours on a theme and then losing it ) but one thing for sure when stable this will be without a doubt the best launcher IMO.
And I will continue to support themer as the more people help and feed back the better themer will become as in a way there is 2 part to development
1 the development its self
2 testing and reporting bugs
Which then leads to a loop
1 the development its self
2 testing and reporting bugs
3 more development
4 testing and reporting bugs
5 more development
6 testing and reporting bugs
And the loop continues till every thing is fixed.
So again to ALL USER PLEASE REPORT EVERY BUG,CRASH,GLICH to the @ThemerSupport team.
Just my opinion

I'm not saying its not mate. It just needs work as the main thing a user will look for is stability.
You could have the nicest look in the world but if not stable what is the point. For ex sample if you had a device that stopped at 2.3.6 GB but there was a unstable 4.4.2 rom for it but you keep getting a black screen. You would not use that rom for long.
And its the same with any app, themes. Widget and so on the end user wants stability.
So although though yes rom bugs are much more annoying and affect the user more.
Users regardless of what there using are all looking for 3 things and they are
1 stability
2 speed
3 look
And in that order for most smartphone user (for WP8 users start at 3 and finish at 1 lol)

In the whole I agree with Moley, more has been said about getting more themes out there than concentrating on getting the product to work,it is all about priorities. The product although in beta has good merits but there is also the downside that simple things sometimes just don't work as they should, dissapearing widgets is a pain in the arse, especially after all the time it can take to put one together, this is so frustrating, features that have been requested since almost day one still have not been implemented, while other non essential items have been added, remember this is just my opinion and no detriment to the developers as I know how hard it can be to get things right, especially since one thing corrected can throw others out I have done it myself when programming, but the problems need to be ironed out before any cosmetic changes are made, and again I say this as a fan of the programme.I work in marketing & advertising and could never get away with trying to convince any potential customer that his product doesn't work but hey it looks **** hot.As above I think priorities are wrong.Zooper can not replace themers everything widget it simply doesn't have all the thiings listed previously,to say it's the best well how long have you used it for and how many themes have you made ? because many of the problems are associated with creating the themes and many end users who only use them don't come across them.I honestly wouldn't say it is the best, yet. Given time and proper remedies for current issues it will get there.
Remember a product is only as good as the support it is given by both the developer and the end user.

4x4 RSS Widget?

Is there any 4x4 RSS widgets out there? Perhaps with a transparent bakground?
bump, I've been looking for this for a long time
I'm reBumping this one.. anyone?
I can assure you all that as of yet there is nothing that exists except for the stock htc Sense NewsReader widget. I spent an inordinate amount of time looking and have tried every newsreader available.
To the best of my knowledge Buzzbox is the ONLY other RSS app with a 4x4 widget but it is still far away from being recommendable. But, certainly worth trying as maybe your experience will be better than mine. It is not scrollable but does have multiple pages and has a good mechanism to select sources. HOWEVER, the articles are way behind (18+hours) and they are not all available. After I sent feedback to the developer he responded by telling me that although 18 hours was too long, the articles are normally delayed because they are being filtered by Buzzbox to only send you the "best stuff." W-T-F? Isn't that the job of the editors at the sources? And, if a source doesn't provide me with the content I want won't I just remove the source and pick another? Mind boggling. Needless to say, despite its potential, I think the app is crap.
The guy behind LauncherPro has been doing a good job of recreating many of the htc Sense widgets and a scrollable RSS widget should be forthcoming. Unfortunately, there is no ETA yet.
That said, when I am running a non-Sense ROM my personal preference is for NewsRoom. Once I gave up on a functional 4x4 news widget I found that Newsroom is the slickest out there. I do still keep Greed2 and FeedR on my phone hoping to grow into them but it has not happened.
BuzzBox is probably your best bet, as it works well and updates pretty nicely, my biggest gripe so far is that the Widget theme is an eyesore, once they apply better themes to the widget, and tweak the power consumption, I'd have to say BuzzBox FTMFW!
Have you tried this thread out? Works for me and has transparent background. It's getting better with each update too.

Edit: Just tried AtomRSS on my rooted Droid X (stock ROM).
No matter how I enable the check in the preferences, I still get an error about scrollable widgets (even if disabled in the preferences!)
I cant seem to find one that will work with the launcher that comes with the Galaxy S2 Epic 4G Touch. Seems all require a custom launcher. =(
Heck, i dont even need it to be scrollable, just looking for a 4x4 rss widget for a single feed and that i can setup its update interval.
Minimal Reader should do the trick for you guys.

Best launcher to use for Tab S

Hey guys. Just wondering what launchers you have rocking on your Tab S.
I currently have Nova Launcher and Smart Launcher Pro. Both are very light on memory and I can zip through everything without a lag on my Tab S.
Any others?

Works well and nice and smooth.
Nova is always my goto as well.

What grid size do you all use on Nova? I always have it looking weird where I have too many icons or they are too far apart.
Go Launcher Ex is far more feature packed than Nova and has cooler animations and themes. Additionally it seems to make whites whiter which means your browser will have more contrast and you can turn brightness down. It also has an extensive list of custom widgets. In addition when holding the tablet in landscape mode the icon dock goes vertical on the right side which is very handy because you can scroll through icons with your thumb.
Go Launcher bothers me. I've tried it on other tablets. It looks nice and does lots of things but there are so many addons that I feel I'm being sucked into something (not quite sure what). I like Nova or for simplicity CM's Trebuchet.

I use NEXT launcher which is made by the go launcher team. I'm sure it's a system hog but I like the themes from Magic4works. I also like 3d mode on my phone. I do use Xprivacy to block personal information though.
Nova is my go too also very smooth experience and no lag on my note 3 and my g pad 8.3

I'm loving Lightning Launcher Extreme. It takes a bit to learn and get used to, but it's the *most* flexible and customizable launcher I've seen, and I went through about a dozen in the last year or so.
The trick to LL is to remember that it's a tree, and that all the branches are containers and all the leaves are single objects, and that all properties are inherited from the parent.
Each container is essentially a separate desktop that can have it's own size and grid, so my desktop can be a 10x16 grid, and my launcher bar can take up a 10x1 space, but internally be a 9x1 space.
Each container is individually zoomable and scrollable, unless you tell it not to be.
Containers and objects both can be unpinned from the grid and moved, rotated, skewed, and scaled with subpixel precision. This includes widget!
LL can also designate a desktop as the lock screen... so you can customize that as well.
As a topper, the Extreme edition allows scripting in JS with a few launcher specific extensions.
As mentioned, it took a bit to figure out, but my home screen is *exactly* how I want it.
Go Launcher is horrible. Are you being serious? I'm running Nova currently, but I've used, and purchased, the premium version of every launcher that's been out for longer than a year. I just get tires of the layout, or the interface, or something, so I go through all of them, shortly after I remember why I didn't like it, and I always end up back using Nova. It seems like the market has been flooded with new launchers over the last 6-12 months, too many to give them all a try so I'm trying to figure out which one to use next. On my Galaxy S5, I'm using Buzz Launcher, which is pretty cool because you can download entire homepacks, or screens, that other people have designed and all the widgets, icons, layouts, backgrounds, etc install automatically and since it supports 9 screens, I could n have a new look on my phone everyday. Unfortunately, it doesn't support landscape very well. I might go with Next Launcher next. I kind of miss the 3D effects it has. I always like to show it to friends who have an iPhone.
Any of you tried TSF launcher?

If you have tried all of the launchers and you have not like any of them then maybe it isn't go launcher that is horrible but rather your expectations of a launcher. It sounds like you have like a relatively simple and straightforward launcher with a clean interface. With that in mind I'm not sure why you keep looking.

Really? I've used Nova and Go and prefer Go quite clearly. Better screen contrast, better widgets, better animations, better themes, vertical dock in landscape. Go is constantly updated and improved whereas Nova doesn't seem to have significantly improved in years.
Please list for us the ways that Go Launcher sucks, what you prefer and specifically why it is superior.
Buzz is cool but almost too much for my tastes.

I love TSF Shell on my S5, but for tablets, I prefer more simplicity for some reason. Therefore Apex is my daily launcher since it's customizations seem to meet my needs best. For some reason I've always had trouble with slight lag with Nova, especially with the dock.
Nova Launcher is by far the best launcher to use. So plain but customizable. You can do pretty much what you want with it. Not a fan of go launcher its bulky, and tries to force there cheesy widgets on me. Just my 2 cents.
On my S5, I use Go Launcher (for now) because I like to always change. For this tablet I still don't know what I want to use, I tried go launcher, nova, TSF but I haven't found the one yet. For now, I'm using the stock launcher for lack of a better choice .

[Q] The Themer Advantage - What is it?!!?

Hi All,
I've been using Themer for quite some time, adding the odd widget here and there and changing the configuration of other people's themes, but I now want to design my own homescreen.
The Themer webpage basically says 'use Zooper and/or the Everything widgets' and I can see that they're extremely configurable. However, when I look at the themes on the XDA thread and on mycolorscreen.com, a lot of them seem to have been built using a one of the other major launchers, such as Apex or Nova, and with widgets from other sources (Beautiful Widgets, ADW, UCCW, etc.).
So my question is this: what advantages are there to using Themer if everything works fine using Apex or Nova? I can understand that Themer is great for sharing themes and for using someone else's themes on my phone (and thank you for all of those!), but if I want something that's just for me – would I be better off just designing it in Apex and leaving it at that?
I was planning to have various elements 'slide open' by using the 'jump to screen x' command within Themer, which is a neat trick and looks very slick, but it seems the same sort of thing can be achieved by using PopUp Widget.
Is there perhaps some system advantage to using Themer? Does it take all the elements used and then 'flatten' them in order to streamline processing? If so, I can understand the advantage.
Please don't think this is in any way a complaint or criticism against Themer – I just really want to know!
Thank you for your help,

Hi Miles,
Very good question actually. Themer's main goal is to allow people to apply beautiful-looking themes in a few seconds. I've created over 200 videos on the MyColorScreen YouTube channel, with many of those homescreens (using Apex/Nova/UCCW/etc) taking over 30 minutes to configure, and that's if you know what you're doing. However as you mentioned, some people just want to make their own theme, disregarding any of the themes available. If that's the case, many people will stick to Nova or Apex because they're both good launchers that have many years of experience behind them.
So here's the deal - if you want a launcher that will do everything you need - stick with Apex. However, if you want a launcher that you will allow you to include neat looking wallpapers/widgets/icons without any hassle - go with Themer. Even you don't enjoy the themes, they're great for getting ideas. Themer is still in beta, therefore more features and improvements shall arrive soon!
Good luck
- Marco

There are some things I really like about buzz launcher, but it is not terribly user friendly. Don't understand how people drop projects like this. They could have made a ton of money on it if they just put it out for sale, and money truly motivates people.
Is there some information somewhere about what's going on? I don't know who Marco is.
I've recently updated my opinion on Buzz Launcher, but it's really not user friendly and the random widget usage of the populace is ridiculous. I like the transition effects when swiping to the next screen.
Anyway, there is information on Marco on mycolorscreen.com, as well as, YouTube. Marco was the main theme developer for Themer. He kind of kept the app going and ran the website. But it's been dead since he left for another job. He'd been with themer for 2 years.
Yeah, the widget deal is silly, and the system isn't well described. The vertical app drawer sucks, and for some reason needs a network connection to open...
And what is with the constant adding of smaller social networking programs or never heard of apps?
Themer was about perfect.

There are many good Themes on their website, but the website has possibly been hacked. I don't know, and I've never had problems with it. I read on a post on xda forum, somewhere, that the site was hacked. I don't really believe it, but they've had more pop-up problems than ever since April. I upload my designs there, and have for over a year. Though, lately the most recent uploads are from the same guy that only creates paid themes on Google Play.
I'm currently using Buzz Launcher, but it's annoying. I hate looking for days, literally, for a complete set of icons. The only redeeming quality that Buzz has, is that Zooper Widget works with it very well. I've been using full screen widgets, and opening my Themer themes page by page. It's a bit slower, but it works. I really don't like the app drawer. Vertical it's hideous and clunky, but horizontal is a bunch of unwanted folders. I just want a plain app drawer with the icons in an infinite scroll list. I've tried Nova Launcher and it was even less user friendly than Buzz Launcher. There are 2 launchers made by the same company that created the Clean Master App, Cheetah Mobile I think, and both are very good if you're trying to escape the battery drain, but neither is really customizable.
Oh, and Go! Launcher will speed through your battery, or the cost of the semi okay themes will break your bank account. There aren't many themes on Go that look good and are functional without being costly. I design. I don't buy Themes, or icons. I either make my own, or I Google icons + deviantart. There's a ton of free, professionally made, icon packs that can be downloaded in a zip file.
As for the how to on getting the themer themes onto themer from mycolorscreen.com, there a tutorial at the bottom of the post. The short version is, download the theme zip file. open up file manager. move the zip file from downloads to the mycolorscreen/exported/zip folder. leave it zipped. then open up the themes menu in themer, look under categories tab, tap exported, find the name of the zip folder, tap it, tap okay. voila.

Oh! I almost forgot. Buzz Launcher. Instead of downloading the app for the theme's widget, you can redirect the widget to another app, such as Zooper or Buzz Widget. It's much easier to replace the base app of the widget than to download some random never heard of apps.
Plus, some of those apps aren't rated, and they come with a warning from Google Play that they could contain inappropriate content or possibly viruses. -_-

Right now I'm trying out Hola Launcher, and I'm kind of impressed by how nice it is. The vertical app drawer in it is the best I've seen, quick letter access like Themer had, but it groups them by letter. VERY nice. The themes are a bit more of the Go Launcher style, but not bad, unfortunately the icons aren't all themed yet. The only annoying stuff in this one so far...
1. The auto sorted app folders. Want to get rid of one? Nope. You need to "release" the folder, which pours all the apps inside that folder onto one of your homepages. Want to get rid of those icons? Sorry, you can only HIDE or Uninstall them. Once you hide them, they aren't shown in the App Drawer anymore.
2. For me, the 2 finger swipe up to get to your hidden apps doesn't work. I'm on Lollipop, my wife with the same phone on 4.4.2 has it working.
And thats about it. REALLY nice, like surprisingly so. Even some of their little custom app icons do some neat stuff.
WP Launcher is neat too, really impressed with it, but wish there were more American or English speaking users/themers for it.
Themer was almost perfect, like RIGHT there...

I should note, they updated Hola Launcher today and fixed a few issues I didn't like yesterday. Also just figured out part of the hide apps thing so that's not an issue anymore really. The double swipe up to show hidden apps started working for me, and there's a setting button in there. You can turn on the option in there to show hidden apps in the All Apps (app drawer).

Themer was best launcher I've ever used, especially as a designer. I'm rather tired of Buzz Launcher.
As for the virus, well.. I'd say it's bugged. I had to reset my phone and tablet back to factory after using the site a few times about a week ago. I thought it was just a random virus from possibly downloading design photos from Google search. ha ha. It was a weird virus that infected Chrome first, I started seeing a lot of random porn pop-up ads on any webpage, and since I'm not using my devices for porn, I can only assume it's a virus. I uninstalled the updates for Chrome first then I disabled it. Unfortunately, it wasn't before the rest of my device was infected, and my phone started randomly downloading apps I've never even heard of before, without my permission I might add. the one I remember was Alibaba. Idk what that is but it's not something I would download, and I was trying to install Webroot Anti-Virus onto my phone and when I scanned, it said almost every app I had was infected and a security breach. I tried to fix that but it force closed and when it wouldn't open I tried to download another Webroot app, but a bunch of other apps started to install themselves and then I was blocked from installing Webroot Internet Security Complete. The download would not start. it said downloading but didn't start. I restarted my phone in safe mode, but couldn't find the problem, then the Play Store was continuously trying to download Webroot, even when I turned WiFi and Data off it was still trying. I finally just removed those apps as they came in to my phone, then I restarted my phone again, but when I went to Google Play it was only a blank white screen. I had to complete a hard reset to stop it from spreading further and I installed Webroot after. I'll be staying away from mycolorscreen. safer to Google "what happened to themer mycolorscreen" and read on Marcos G+ or YouTube because both show up under that search. Themer was great, but whatever is going on with that company now, I don't know and I want no part of it.
I'll look into Hola Launcher, but if I can't customize then I'll be back to finding a customizable launcher. So far, I've not had any luck on that front. Themer is still the most customizable launcher with their integrated Zooper Widget Pro inside of it.

I don't really like their User Agreement, and so far I've found no information on where the company is located. I noticed the video in the Play Store app page had text in some form of Sanskrit language.

Thanks for sharing that. It finally made my strange virus problem clear. What a mess that company is without Marco. He maintained the website and now it's been left to die. I'd recommend getting a killer anti-virus software for your devices that have been there. I tried every anti-virus software on the app store and only Webroot found any problem. Luckily, I already have Webroot Internet Security Complete on my laptops and desktops, so it didn't cost anything. (It's like $30-$70 for a year subscription for up to 5 devices. It depends on the product keys you choose. Internet Security Complete is the best you can get, and when you use it on mobile, it comes as one download from Google Play but it's 3 high security apps in one. It protects on all fronts.)

The Star Trek theme.. Sigh.
Thank you for pointing Hola Launcher out to me. I found that theme for it and fell in love. Actually, I browsed all of their themes and they're really nice. I won't be able to design with this launcher, but it's nice to take a break from it and finally delete Buzz Launcher. Hooray! Now I only have to complete design requests, instead of create themes for myself and everyone I know plus the requests. Vacation.

Well, I'm thinking that Hola Launcher is just beginning, it is SO quick and small. 2.4MB? Really?!?!?
It supports regular widgets so any you've created SHOULD work, I wonder if there's a way to package a theme back up from them and distribute it with custom widgets? Hola Shine is pretty amazing too, and the Technology theme for it is frigging gorgeous! I asked them a bunch of questions via Email yesterday and they are VERY responsive. I can post some of that here if you want. Perhaps if you contacted them they'd be open to becoming more designer friendly in the way you design.
And how about that app drawer... *sigh* Now let me go find that Star Trek theme.
I need to ask, isn't Zooper also owned by MyColorScreen? I thought it was and was also going to head down the same path to abandonment.

Yes, Zooper Widget is owned by mycolorscreen. Though, I believe that wasn't always the case, I'm not exactly sure.
I've contacted the Holaverse people, but so far no response. I had a technical question about a Theme. In the preview photos of the theme, it showed Play Store and Email as having themed icons, yet when I installed it(1, 2, 3, times), those apps didn't get themed icons. Though, it is a wonderful launcher, and I adore that clean memory icon, I'm already missing being able to customize in depth. Lol. There's just no pleasing a woman.

Why are some icons squared and others round

I'm new to Huawei as I recently switched from an iPhone to the Huawei mate 20 pro and I'd like to know why some icons are circles and the others are rounded squares and if there's a solution to it. personally would like my icons to be rounded squares as I'm used to have in the iPhone but in this new phone, circles and squares get mixed and creates this ugly homescreen that I have to see everyday.
I've looked into some icon packs and they usually involve installing a launcher, which I do not want, because I've heard they decrease performance, and then most of them have some bugged icons or are too different from the original ones and are ugly.
So, I am no phone expert but I don't see a solution to keep the Huawei home launcher and have uniform icons. If you have any, id be grateful if you could please let me know.
Some icons are huawei system icons, others are developer icons like Google messages or 3rd party apps
The best way install icon pack, best using Nova launcher or another 3rd party launcher with icon customisation.

Hi, I had a same problem with the different shape of icons and I tried some themes from Play Store and I can recommended you themes from Aurel. Every theme has a same shape (circles or rounded squares).
Themes can be a good way around it.
Don't be too quick to dismiss using launchers and icon packs though. Later firmware versions have fixed a lot of the issues people were having with third party launchers and gestures for example. Performance isn't really affected by a good launcher.

This! I've never ever used launchers on my Android phones for the past 5 years or so however I'm in love with Nova prime on the mate! Do your self a favor and buy the Nova prime and customize it your way. I love how my screen looks now, everything is uniform and organized. Also the mate is a powerful beast. If ****ty phones can run Nova, don't you think the mate, having one of the most powerful processors out there, can handle Nova with breeze. Also I've not seen any battery impact whatsoever. In 24 hours of use, with 8 hours of screen on time, Nova only used about 20 minutes worth of CPU, which is nothing.
