[Q] Play store versions of Amazon software? - Kindle Fire HDX 7" & 8.9" Q&A, Help & Troubleshoot

Has anyone had any luck using the play store versions of Kindle or Amazon Mp3? I have two Amazon accounts, one for US books and one for Amazon MP3 in the UK.
Is there a workaround install either Kindle or Amazon MP3 from the Play Store that allows them to run?

Anyone get these apps to work?
Thanks
Amazon mp3 works fine for me, downloaded off the market after the initial boot-up. Been streaming music from my account no problem. Amazon.com app isn't authorized for tablets, but theoretically if you find the .apk or a titanium backup file of it there's a good chance it'll work
I was able to install both apps using the Amazon App Store with no problems.
I was able to install using the Amazon App Store. No issues.

Sony Entertainment Network etc.

Hi, Sorry if this sounds like a stupid question, as I cannot get any response from Sony support. Sony states that only certain regions can have full access to these sites. Would like it to be available to UK to download music, rent movies etc, direct to XS after creating account with them, will this work ok straight out of the box in UK
Cheers.
I went into that "movies unlimited" or something app, and I was region blocked apparently :/
So I think it will be indeed for only certain regions...which is a bit...annoying.

Hi, Great Thanks. Thought it would be useful to rent the odd movie on phone and play movie through large screen TV via HDMI, saves connecting laptop etc.

HD Google Play Movies

I purchased 2 movies from the play store in HD format but they will only play in SD on my prime, I was wondering if anyone knew how to make them play in HD or why they will not.

Android use for media only?

I want to use an older android device for use with my chrome cast only. I have a lot of purchased movies and music through the play store that I would like my while family to have access to. But I don't want them to access my gmail or be able to install apps.
How can I accomplish this...?
Thanks in advance.
Grab an old android with minimal of 512mb of ram and at least OK developer support and root it, then remove anything Google-like other than what you need.
Also I would recommend one with an SD card to support all those movies.
Maybe the nexus one?
I have a gs3. The goal is to keep play movies and music but disable the ability to install apps and block access to any other Google services.
I'm pretty sure play movies and music need the play store which is an issue.
I just ran a test, used titanium backup to freeze play store than tried to listen to my music (cloud) from play music, worked great. Then I tried play movies and I kept getting connection error. I defrosted play store then went back to movies and it worked, then froze play store again it kept working.
So it looks like you need play store running when you first connect and play music and movies, but once you are connected you can remove play store for good.
So your s3 should work just fine
Thanks, guess a just have to try and see what happens. Was hoping someone ashtray had a tried solution.
Thanks again

Amazon Video File Location

I am using the Amazon Video app (from Amazon App store, not Google Play) and have downloaded my purchased movies. I am trying to find the file location on my Samsung Tablet but I can't seem to file it anywhere. Anyone know how i can find the file?
