[Q] Firefox changes words in searchfields - Kindle Fire HDX 7" & 8.9" Q&A, Help & Troubleshoot

I have a kindle fire HDX 8.9 with the newest system version. I installed the Firefox Browser 26.0.1, which I got from the google store on an other android device and exported it as an APK. Everything works fine except a funny little thing...
When I enter a word in a searchfield (in Google, Bing or Youtube, it doesn't make a difference) some words have letters changed in them, after I hit the return key. The search then returns the correct results for the wrong spelled words. The words are either not changed or always changed in the same way (for example "help" into "hell"). When I start the search by clicking on the popular searches below the search field, the correct search is performed.
I have uninstalled an reinstalled firefox, and have reset the kindle to the factory defaults, but the effect remains. There are no (visible) add-ons or web-apps installed in Firefox. When I use the Silk browser, everything works fine.
Any Ideas?

[Q] Google search defaults to text-only/mobile version of site

I'm running Vegan 5.11 and whenever I do a search (either from the Google Search app, or just typing into the browser bar), the results are shown via the barebones/text-only mobile version of google. This is different from the usual mobile version that I get on my phone, which still has the graphic tabs and nice spacing. I also have the option to choose which app I should use:
Google (Search) or
Google (Google Search)
But both result in to the same thing.
Does anyone know how to fix this? The text only mobile version is ugly and hard to read, and I don't want to have to scroll to the bottom and choose classic site each time I search.
If you are using dolphin HD, set your user agent to 'desktop', should prevent mobile sites from opening

[Q] Acer W700 Google Play Store No Connection

Hello Everyone, let me start by saying I have been doing so much reading on this webpage in the past 24 hours (and casually browsed before) and I just want to say thanks. The site is awesome and the users are even better.
I recently installed ia3 of Android on Intel on my Acer Iconia W700 tablet. The guide to install was fantastic. I've had some issues getting GApps installed but I finally got them working where I went thru the google setup and everything and logged into GMail able to see everything so I tried my luck with the play Store.
The App loads and says "No Connection, Retry" I have tried installing a new .apk a few times, I even tried some of the suggestions regarding the ETC file (editing is, deleting it and all sorts of reboots etc) I've tried deleting the apk entirely and reinstalling and I just can't quite seem to figure it out. I am even able to install play when I am in system/app and long press and click install and I notice the version of play updated. Still having the same no connection error when the store opens up.
I know it must at least have an internet connection because anything I start typing into the search box it offers suggestions based on what I am typing. Ex: when i type in "Chrome" it populates suggestions such as "Chrome, chromecast, chromecast app, chrome browser, etc."
There has got to be something I am either doing wrong, or can try a different way. Thank you in advance for any help, and I'll make sure to click some thanks buttons along the way.

[Q] Browser Issues

I've rooted my G3 and have had issues with pages not displaying in full site views @ all (e.g. Accuweather) or incorrectly (e.g. Google Play) for some time now. I get "Server Error...Connection refused...Error 500" when trying to display pages in full site views in Chrome and Dolphin browsers. Other sites, like Google Play display incorrectly/wonky in full site and mobile views, meaning almost in a pure text view, no page search bar, etc. Also, I've noticed when going to the Weather Channel site, the page language displays English and Chinese/Japanese = odd. I've done a factory reset and still have this issue. I know this wasn't a problem before but I don't know if the rooting or use of of post root apps have done the damage. Right now, all I have are some basic rooted apps - ES File Manager, Cerberus, AdBlock Plus, SuperSU Pro, Titanium Pro, Webkey, Widgetroid, and Tasker. I've searched for answers and even went to LG for help, but nothing is resolving this issue. I'm @ a loss of what to do...anyone help, please?
What browser? I've had weirdness with the AOSP browser(s), never used Dolphin, Firefox, etc.
Chrome, both stable release and beta, work fine, altho I generally do not prefer full site view. If Chrome, perhaps try deleting Data then completely uninstall via Root Explorer / ES File Mgr by deleting the .apk in System/Apps, reboot, and download Chrome from Play Store.
It's the default browser with the phone, which is Chrome. I've tried Dolphin to see if it was Chrome and the same issues show up. It's odd that these problems didn't pop up until recently. I first noticed it when I tried to go from the Accuweather app to a detailed forecast via the app and noticed the full version webpage would not show. The more I looked into the issue, the more sites I noticed similar problems along with the newer issues mentioned.
Will the uninstall/reinstall create any issues since it's the default browser of the phone? I don't know if other parts of the ROM will falter when I try that fix.

Have you tried disabling the ad blocking? I have had problems (on a previous device) like this with certain ad blockers in place.

Problem with Kindle Reader App After Installing Google Play

I installed Google Play Services/Store, which works perfectly fine, but afterwards I could no longer open the Kindle App. I only installed Google Play Services because I wanted to be able to read from the Google Play Books App as well as the Kindle App since this new tablet screen is much larger than my LG G5 screen. Well, now the Kindle App doesn't open at all. It starts to open but immediately crashes back to the home screen. The preview page, for reading, shows what books I have but I can't open them from there either. I've tried clearing the cache manually in every app on the tablet. I've tried restarting. I've googled many different phrases to find help on this but so far I haven't found any type of thread that discussed this problem. I'm out of ideas.
Any help would be very much appreciated. Thank you.

Note there are (at least) to variants of the Kindle App:
- stock Kindle designed to run on FireOS (only)
- scaled back version available via the Play Store designed to run on 'generic' Android;
You may want to try installing the Play Store variant to see if that resolves the issue while retaining a sufficient number of core features for your needs. Otherwise, a factory reset should fix the problem by removing the Google Play store and any associated detritus that may be interfering with the operation of the stock Kindle app.

[APP] IMDB not loading content of movies in search tab

When searching for something a list of movies appears. Then tap on an entry and a description page should open up. But all I get is, Loading... This is taking longer than usual. This has started a few weeks ago. Installed is latest version from playstore.
Forced app to close, delete cache and data, without success. Poco X3 NFC, rooted. Adaway installed but tried it also with deactivated Adaway. Also re-installed app. Any suggestions?
The best feature for me is the advanced search function. The website doesn't provide the same functionality. I actually want search movies by criterias, not keywords. Actually the search function on their website is completely crap.
I have exactly the same problem. Have you found a solution?
I have this problem too, did anyone found the solution?
@Marcus0513 , @Stefan Haking - Try clearing your 'hosts' file in /system/etc/hosts
Make sure it has no urls other except
127.0.0.1 localhost
It should Work fine
Cleared everything still stuck on loading forever
I have the same problem. The workaround I found is to use old version of IMDB app (8.8.3.3.108830300). However using of newer/last version still has the problem.
