[Q] [$$] Ethernet over USB OTG - Samsung Galaxy S 4 Zoom

I want to be able to use a wired ethernet connection with the S4 Zoom over USB using a OTG cable. I know it doesn't support it out of the box. I have looked all over the internet but did not find a solution. I am willing to pay if someone can create a reliable solution for this.
I need to be able to use a USB OTG cable (such as this) and a USB to ethernet adapter (such as this) in order to connect the S4 Zoom to the internet.

Try this:

or this

These may work but not sure...

Don't think they are going to work. I know the Galaxy S4 works with the ethernet adapter now. Someone wrote the drivers and updated the kernel. See this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2347721
$100 to anyone who can port this solution for the S4 zoom.

app store
There are various apps in the app store for this. Just search ethernet in the app store. Tell me If this helps. Also your phone needs to be rooted.

[Q] Does Atrix have USB Host support?

Saw a new app to tether your Canon camera to your phone instead of a computer.. Gives you all the controls like when you tether to your PC, but on the phone, still in beta, and only tested on xoom and sgs2.. but i saw that the phone needs USB host support for it to work.
Is this something the Atrix can have with the roms now?
This would be sweet!
yes. in order to use USB host you just need to provide 5V DC to the device which the Atrix's usb port doesnt do. you will need to use a powered USB hub. check out: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=997187
drivers will probably be an issue though

That does sound sweet Shriva! What's the name of the app and if it was not in the general app market where was it?
Thanks,
Bill
Atrix 4d and 2 support USB host mode when you use OTG cable and provide power (you can use mouse, keybaord storage etc.).
But it does not support Androi API support for USB host mode. Which means Apps won't detect any device thus DSLR camera control apps don't work. Maybe with update to ICS it will be supported.

usb to IRda adaptor

Did anyone tried to use Galaxy Tab 2 10.1(P5100) with usb to IRda adaptor as a remote control with sucess(providing that you have Samsung usb adaptor at the first place)?I see that Peel app works with Tab 2,but in Note it works with internal IRda port.

I doubt if there is any usb IRDa driver so i would not expect that to work
I was afraid about that, all adaptors at the market are delivered with windows drivers,I did not find not a single one with android.

Android USB has only basic drivers for mouse, keyboard , flash and a generic web cam. I don;t think anything else will be recognized. That was done to keep the package as small as possible. And you can't just download a new driver since they reside in the system lib area and on a consumer android device that is inaccessible.
great idea for work application
one of my friends try this one: computerusb(dot)com ,
feel great, they offer drivers.

No, you can't connect a HDMI-Device.
But it's possible to stream the screen of a PC or Mac to your Galaxy Beam with Splashtop (available in Google Play).
It works !!!!!!

OTG

Hi,
Can somebody verify otg connection is working for this tablet?
I tried my cable but it does not turn the device into usb host mode.
A quick test with a usb host testing app showed that this tablet has no usb host capabilities. Shame.
BS - of course this tablet has USB host functionality.
Via the usual OTG adaptor you can connect the usual USB sticks, hard drives (with own power supply), mice, keyboards etc.
It has even a special feature (can be activated in audio settings) for connecting a USB DAC for high-quality sound / recording.
Yes, it works w/o problems

Cool, looks like that test app isn't very accurate then.
This is the result it came up with:
If @datalkingx means with OTG connection to connect USB Flash Drive, Keyboard, etc. then it works, if he means something else then I don't know

I would like to know that too! Also, how did you test the connection speed on your NP?

I use a basic 4 port USB 3.0 hub also from Sabrent (doesnt have the on/off buttons on it) and pair it with an OTG cable and it works fine. I have a wireless mouse, sixaxis or ds4 controller, and a 64GB flash drive plugged into it.
