What version of TWRP are you on? Sounds like you need to update to the latest version.

You can download the zip file here -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2552655
Then reboot into recovery. Then flash the zip like you would any other. When you reboot to recovery, you will have a new recovery.

See my above instructions. It is a zip file that you flash in recovery so there is no Odin involved.

so i flashed the clock work mod touch recovery and now when i rebooted it theres no service on my phone and when i reboot into recovery it wont let me install any roms, any ideas?? i cant find anything on here, already looked...
Could be a bad download, why don't you try flashing TWRP recovery and see if that helps.
Are you saying that you can get into recovery but cannot flash anything?

You could download to PC and move to phone. You can always flash cwm again with Odin. I would use a fresh download of the cwm tar.

The TWRP here, (in this section) is a flashable zip I believe, and to the best of my knowledge, will work with GB/ICS/JB combined.
But please, dont take my word for it.
Go to the TWRP threads and read the OP's carefully, as they tell you the installation requirements for the recovery.....g

[Q] How to boot into TWRP instead of CWM?

Hi everyone ..
I want to flash the latest Omega 4.4.2 rom and the developer strongly recommends to install TWRP recovery. I already have CWM recovery so I installed TWRP recovery using GooManager and it did tell me that it was successfully installed, but whenever I try to reboot into recovery, it goes to CWM instead!
Can anyone please help?

I've done that. It's not there!
This is the rom I'm running. It's a galaxy s5 based rom.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/development/rom-galaxy-s5-mini-12-edition-buy-s5-t2669724
The annoying thing is I've got 2 phones running the exact same rom etc and I can make nandroid backups on mine but not on my wife's
i'm sure that in CWM there must be "fix permissions"...it's impossible there isn't!
Have you got any trouble with your wife's S3 or that rom works fine?

Cheers for your reply
Just re checked Philz touch and can confirm 100% fixed permissions is not there, anywhere
When I install this rom it installs using aroma. I'm just wondering if that's causing the problem as previous roms I flashed were solely installed by Philz Touch
Rom seems more or less the same. I flashed both phones in the exact same way so don't understand how one can't backup. I need to backup incase anything goes wrong.
To be honest I want a TW rom that works 100% all the time! I just really like the look of the S5 rom. Most of these S5 roms after a week or two start slowing down and become unusable
it's very strange...i dont' really understand
Have you ever tried Imperium KitKat? I've it from 2 weeks and works fine: pretty fast, stable and good battery life with boeffla kernel.

Yeah I saw that. Might try it. Will see how I get on with this first. So no ideas how to fix this? I always run a 'mega wipe' zip before every flash of a rom. Can I do anything else to completely remove everything so the problem with backup is gone?
You can try doing deep clean to fix your problem and remove everything from your wife's S3.
I always do full wipe and format partitions system and preload before flashing new rom.

OTA after rooting or tweaking the phone?

I wanted to know if there is any way to install an ota zip on rooted phone.I am currently on twrp 3.1.1. I have already tried flashfire. i have also tried restoring to stock system, boot, recovery(using flash firmware option in flashfire app) but still it it shows 'can not update' error even in stock recovery.
Very very thanks to anyone who replies.
download it, rename the zip to update.zip, put the zip in your phone and use update app

there's no flashing option on stock recovery.
Only at TWRP (or other custom recovery) Flash directly from there.
Rooting has nothin to do with it.

Oh, that error means the ROM might be faulty or you're flashing the wrong one.
Be ensure of the ROM first.
Redownload and check.
