Dirty Unicorns (DU) is a custom ROM originally based off AOKP but now OMNI-ROM, brings you a great mix of stability and customization. The idea to start a ROM like this was purely out of boredom but later turned into a form of an addiction, a good one. We began to have fun while still doing things the right way. By doing so, we received high praise from not only our users but by fellow developers of other ROMs that enjoy seeing things done the right way. This ROM will always be free of charge without any strings attached or any of it's developers luring you into donating or any form of "pay to flash".
"Give credit and thanks where is due!" That's something that has fuel the way we do things! With that said, we would like to go ahead and credit those individuals and groups that have made this ROM possible with their original code and contributions to the Android community.....

Omni based

This ro1 looks pretty nice. Well done.

look greats, downloading

look nice, i try it soon

downloaded. im trying roms, first it was omni(i changed in a few hours because i hated that i couldnt change icons on the quick settings menu) then beanstalk for a few days(it works great but battery was not so good so i decide to try another one). i just installed resurrection remix with gustavo cm 11 kernel and seems pretty good. then its Dirty Unicorns turn. Keep up the good work

Looks Promising !
Downloading. Will give it a try

Another awwesome kitkat ROM!
I like that all the customizations are in one place.
Lots of functionality and seems good battery life. Functions like Halo, AppBar, Active Display, Gesture Anywhere are all toggles so if you dont like those u can turn it off.
Awesome work guys!

Find bugs till now:
1. Notification\tiles doesn't close with back button
2. You have write mistake in settings word "Display" is actually written "Diplay" letter "s" missing
And you should include one file explorer in your rom for users that have not internet on start and have apps on device

Cheers, Jason.
I'm feeling like a total n00b for this (and I am) but I tried to install the ROM and got a Status 0 error. I then tried to install TWRP and got a Status 7 error. What am I missing?

Tried flashing it, received 'assert failed' and another Status 7.
Solid so far, is there hold back to kill option or am I just over looking it?
I'm too facing this problem of random reboots. ROM feels bit laggy to me compared to cm 11. Also found that CPU ( set mine to Wheatley 200/1400) does not stick on reboot sometimes. Just read that random reboots problem is being looked at.

Not too sure how you wound up with cwm 4 on a 4.2.2 ROm, but you should try flashing to an updated recovery 1st... THIS

its for 4.2.x ROMs and should then let you flash the ROM bdogg718 suggested

A small note I'd like to mention to anyone who's "lost root" after flashing any SLIM ROM, by default root access is disabled, you must go into developer options and on the click on "root access" you'll notice it says "disabled" so just click it and grant to apps and adb
Just to save you from panicking and coming back here all worried lol

Dirty Unicorns is a custom ROM built with stability in mind and optional customization. The idea to start this ROM began out of pure boredom around 4.1.2 on the EVO 3D and later turned into a form of an addiction (a good one) to see where we could go from there. We have since expanded to more devices to include the HTC One, Nexus 5, SGS4 and many more. We quickly realize that users loved what we were doing as well as other developers because it was done the right way. We've always had fun doing it and take pride in knowing that we've done it without having to bug the end user for donations to pay for server costs and/or any of those sob stories you hear. This ROM is 100 percent free and will remain that way.
Those wanting to use our ROM as a base are more the welcomed to do so but please maintained the credits/thanks below, do not ask for donations as it wouldn't be fair to do so considering and let us know as we often like to contribute to other projects.
As stated above, we love to maintain authorship but we also like to publicly praise those that have helped us along the way with our wonderful project. With that said, this wouldn't be possible without the work and help of those listed below THANK YOU ALL!!
| OmniROM | AOKP | CM | ChaOS | Paranoid Android | Slim ROMs | Preludedrew | Team Black Out | Official Testers / Translators |
Please check our gerrit/github for full credits/thanks of individual contributorsBelieve it or not, we are human and we do forget things. If we have left someone out of the credit/thanks list, just PM us and we'll gladly add on to the list.

We are planning a release soon, if all went well you will see a thread on Arc forum soon.
Hi Saatvik,
I saw the post and couldn't control myself and so downloaded the ROM and installed it by performing all swipes. BTW, I didn't flash the Kernel included in this ROM as I'm in office and I don't have option to install flash tool in my ofyc PC.
So i was on DARK Kernel. I saw few screen lags while locking and unlocking, broken screen while scrolling.
After reaching home, I flashed Kernel in the ROM.
everything is super smooth, lots of features.. Full happies....
But Wi-Fi is not working eventhough I was able to connect to Wifi while on DARK KERNEL.
this rom is amazing:laugh: .everything works fine and alot free memory on neo v.many tweaks and good walkman player too...camera make very good photos with option for manual focus,....i wil test batery life with moderate use ,and with wifi opened all day,so i wil report,...i put some screenies from my neo v,for now everything works fine ,no bugs on my neo v.congrats Satvik:good:

Everything's fine except battery..
Review
One of the best roms for neo v..
Played some games with decent graphics and they went well..
Butter smooth performance and speed is good..
The only drawback is battery stamina which lasts only for a day under moderate use too..
I didnt do any browsing and games...
Wifi worked well all the time without any signal loss..
Hope the next update is as good as this..
Thanks @ Saatvik Shukla

Kernel Source for hammerhead
Bugs, F.A.Q.s, and Notes
Q: Can I use the Screw'd kernel with other ROMs?
A: Technically yes, but why would you do that? The Screw'd kernel is a lightly modded kernel and was implemented specifically for the Screw'd ROM. It will work on AOSP ROMs, but not CM-based ROMs. I feel if you want a custom kernel, then go all out and flash ElementalX or Glitch or faux123's kernel. They have more mods than Screw'd kernel will ever have.
Q: Can you add (insert feature here) from (insert other ROM here) so it can be more like (insert other ROM here)?
A: If they have their source posted, then probably. If I feel it's needed or beneficial to performance then I'll consider it. One thing to remember is that I build this to suit my needs first, and it's release to the public for those who want to use it, but take it as it is. If you want Screw'd to be more like (insert other ROM here) then maybe you should use (insert other ROM here). Screw'd is.................different.
Q: How can I build this myself for another device that I own?
A: Screw'd is completely open-sourced. If you want to build for another device then you can start at my Github manifest page. Remember, it'll be up to you to make the source work with your device, and any device related support from me will be somewhat limited. If you want to be an official device maintainer then let me know.

Cant install tru multirom
My feedback:
Great ROM! Very light and smooth, fast and good battery performance. No problems so far. I have a bit of a habit to flash new roms constantly but I think I will stay with this one for a while!
One request:
Could you please add option to reboot into Recovery? Thanks.

I'd say its about a 9 stability wise. Everything seems to work. Needs some testing out in the masses to let me know what needs fixing still.
I use it as a daily ROM for weeks now.

Well in my opinion CM is a based on AOSP however it's not AOSP.
The reason why some people ask CM or AOSP is because if based on CM obviously we'll experience known bugs and so forth however if based on AOSP we won't experience the same stuff and we have reassurance that its built from AOSP, less bugs, less bloatware and a better stock experience. And that's why we ask, so we know what to expect. CM is not AOSP for many XDA users, correct me if I'm wrong.
What is the size and the original file system (Fat32, ext2...) of your SD card before formatting for internal use ?
