hi experts,
first of all thank youfor taking a look at my prob.
i am using grand quattro rooted with stock rom.
i have been using it since 4 months or so..
dont know what came in my mind and i had a thought to remove stock apps like CHAT ON, PLAY BOOKS, PLAY MOVIES, HANG OUTS..
SO I STARTED playing with TITANIUM BACK UP PRO.
and
0. took back up using titanium.
1. made each of them USER APP in place of system app.
2. opened home screen and uninstalled one by one..
.
while doing so i could see ROM memory free space increased from 27 mb to 42mb.
i thought as if i was making my fone LIGHT WEIGHT...
.
and nothing was wrong until i started playing with YAHOO FINANCE & YAHOO STOCK..
i cud not see option to make them USER APP only option i had was REMOVE WITH RECOVERY ....SOMETHING LIKE THAT..
i hit OK and it said WILL ERASE COMPLETELY AFTER 2 REBOOTS..
again i pressed OK...
.
i repent on those last words...as problem was avoidable i think till then...
.
so..then fon rebooted thrice and went into clockwork mode after samsung logo...
.
i thought its ok...i can handle it and wiped cache and dalvik cache and removed battery..
.
again i was in cwm recovery...
.
i was trapped prevously in such bootloop while playing with xposed.. power menu... so i thought i cud handle it like before and tried to reflash cwm using odin..and guess what? my ODIN NOW COULD NOT DETECT FONE (i had put it on bootloader mode, ya..) i mean i cud not see COM port there and cud not flash cwm to break bootloop.
.
.
so tried one thing and placed previously made ROM BACKUP (using cwm) into ext sd card and flashed that with cwm restore back up option..
.
nope. it didnt work either.
though it said restore complete i was still in cwm loop.
.
i tried installing adb drivers and samsung drivers and kies all of them...on laptop but still odin is not detecting COM PORT.
.
and ya i had updated my windows 8 x64 before 4 days....
.
i dont know what to do... plz help me yaar..

Uhh....first just relax dude! Switch off ur phone for 10-15 min. !! Thn when its switched off completely thn press d power button down button and menu button to get into odin mode!! Just pray for it and maybe u get lucky and ur phone open d download mode!
Use other pc or try other usb port.. Hope it will help you..

Steps to fix your phone:
1) chill.
2) get a sd-card.
3) download a ROM into the SD-card.
4) put the sd-card into the phone.
5) flash the rom through CWM.
6) wipe cache.
7) wipe dalvik cache.
8) factory reset.
9) reboot.
10) celebrate.

This method wont work.. please read carefully op post.. he already tried what u have told. And its already tested by many quattro owners that the only way to get rid of a boot loop is to reflash cwm..

Well I tried several things at a time like

.. reinstalled adb drivers.
.. put fone in bootloader and cwm alternately while usb attached.
.. manualy tried to update error device driver from device mgr in pc...

Out of which any one wud hv worked and voila I saw message COM PORT 7 flasding on odin...
.
I took a deep sigh and reflashed latest cwm with autoreboot and f.reset options enabled...
.
Perfect.
I was out of loop.
Fone saved...

I am having exactly the same problem with a galaxy i8552 win Quattro. Infinite loops with cwm and not detected at all by any windows (three different computers). Finally your post gave me the idea... And is that seem that is not the same starting with the special combination of keys to enter in the downloading mod, that within crw requesting in the application to reboot in downloading mod.

Hello Gurus,
Mine is Galaxy Grand Quattro. I have rooted my phone with CWM Recovery 6.0.4.5 via Odin3 v3.07 two days back. I was looking to upgrade my 4.1 to any available, so I have install an online app from playstore called CyanDelta Updater and run the application. I gave Superuser permission and got popup Supports TWRP and CWM, i clicked on continue. After restart, my phone is loading with SAMSUNG logo and goes to CWM Recovery screen.
I tried to wipe the Data/factory reset /Cache/System. I even tried to go with Odin, but my USB is not detecting in my laptop.
Could someone kindly advise how I can revert it back. Or any way i can access to mobile System files to delete the installed CYANDelta updater from my laptop or any other way.
Kindly help me out in booting my Quattro

Hello All,
I was searching for solution for my CMW recovery loop. But finally I had to go back to Samsung Kies.
I have opted for Firmware Upgrade and Initialization and it went to Software upgrade and installed all to default to my Quattro. Moreover, it is showing as Official in About Device - Status, Earlier it was showing as Custom. I dont if it work or not if i go for warranty as I still have 7 months warranty left.
Thank you for the forms. I love this XDA and lot appreciate everyone here. It has helped me do various setps on my 3 old android devices.

Hello, after rooting, installing xRecovery bla bla, i opened XRecovery, did a full back-up of the default android 2.1 version (thank god!) and continued to install Froyo 2.2 ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1059361 ). do in advantage option wipe dalivik cache then factory reset and try.you wont lose backup beacuse you have it on your sdcard.if it stil wont work reinstall custom rom.

Do what Eyama said. I'm just going to suggest that you also make a backup of your SD (copy it to your PC). Not really that important but just good practice.
yeah it is good to backup all stuff that you need on phone and sdcard
True. I always keep copies on my pc of everything from phone and sd card for the important roms i've used. And keep a copy of data/app and system folders on my sd card plus all the installation files+fixes of roms.
It might seem too much for some people, but it's how i'm used to work and it's helped me countless times.
Xrecovery backups are great, but sometimes you need just one file and restoring everything for that one file can be a bit over the top. Of course if you really mess up, you have to restore everything

Hmm it stuck on boot means u want to give it to repair shop nt to sony sevice center this like happend me too :cyclops:

Most probably you did missed 1 or 2 steps that caused looping.

First of all I hav to say that this is a gr8 forum... Though this is my first post, i hav been a Guest for a long time...
I recently brought a Karbonn A21... I rooted it using "droidiser micromax-a110-rooted-how-to-guide" because I just could not get the drivers to install properly by following any other guide... And then installed CWM-based Recovery using "droidextra install-clockworkmod-on-karbonn-a21"... And then finally attempted to install DarkBoid ROM by Santo_Rock... I did everything alright... My mistake was that i transferred the .zip file to the ext. sd card and not the internal one... :crying: and then like a smart ass i went ahead wiping data and cache and all without taking backup (Yeah, I know, am a BONEHEAD...:angel: ). Now the phone goes into recovery mode and fastboot mode and even charges but gets stuck at the logo screen while booting normally... I looked around a bit for ideas to fix it but nothing seems to go properly... I would really appreciate some help... Any ideas or suggestions?

no. There is nothing better. U could do. Cuz there is no PC suite for karbonn. So better option is to take it to the service centre.

nothing similar seems to have happened to anyone on the specific phone.. i had miui custom rom and CWM RECOVERY installed on my phone but it was so buggy that i wanted to go back to cm9 (which i had before installing miui).. to avoid any bricks i decided to wipe data,cache,dalvic cache and i accidentally also wiped /system... when i realized what i did i rebooted my phone without installing another rom and it just showed up the lg logo which shows when it starts. it wont boot anyway :crying:. i cant boot into cwm (volume down and power) which i could do before the wipe. my phone was rooted. before going to cm9 i had installed custom rom firmwares through kdz updater. now when i plug my phone IT RECOGNISES my phone both on emergency mode and with the lg logo on the screen but when i install the kdz it stucks for a while and says phone was not found something like that. i downloaded odin but dont know how to use it. i also have a 2 gb external sd. i would really appreciate it if you could guys help me. if my phone is dead forever my parents will kill me though im having some hopes. sorry for being so talky i wanted to explain everything... ty
Don't be afraid brother It happened on my mobile thousand of times so I solve it by flashing rom using ADT (android download tool)
Just download any ADT custom rom for ur device search it on Google u will surly find it
The u can go back on ur recovery method for flashing roms .....
Works 110% on every device

But d biggest problem is ki my phone is not going in recovery as well as not in download mode...When i press d 3 buttons it directly goes to grand quattro logo...What should i do, is it bricked...? Plzz help n reply
You should remove the battery . Then press volume up + home + power buttons . It will boot in download mode . Then again press volume up . Now on your pc , open odin and select .tar file of your downloaded firmware and click on start . Make sure that re-partition is not checked . After installing the firmware it will automatically boot up . Enjoy!!!!!

Bro m unable to go in download mode n neither in recovery....whenever i try the combo keys, the phone starts and directly goes to galaxy grand logo n stucks their.....
Heres d story, last night i have downloaded rom manager to back up my rom..when i pressed backup in rom manager phone rebooted in cmw..i did backup from their, but it failed coz of low memory....den i tried to reboot system but again cmw screen appeared..i thaught that it could be a system problem so i wiped davilk den wiped cached den i formatted data but was of no use...den i searched n found abt bootloop n blahblah den i flashed stock_flashble-delos3geur.zip(method to solve bootloop) den d default recovery camed from where i rebooted n walla bootloop gone but it stucked on grand quattro screen..n now its not going in cmw as well as not in download mode.....whenever i try to do it it directly goes on galaxygrand screen n stucks der...What to do...:crying::crying::crying:

You have hard bricked your phone . This is a warning to all users , don't ever flash anything from google till it is verified. When you got bootloop , you should have tried factory data reset . And If It didn't worked then you had to flash stock firmware through odin . Now , my advice is that pleasebgive ur phone to samsung service center. You can do nothing now bcoz it's a hard brick .

Dont misguide people.. Its a simple bootloop because OP has used rom manager to boot into recovery and it is a known issue in quattro.. He is doing something wrong thats why phone is not booting into download mode..

It is called Soft Brick and not 'Simple Bootloop' . I was just trying to help him. Second , The OP is doing nothing wrong here , he is just using the 3 button combo (vol down + home + power) and he himself says that 'But d biggest problem is ki my phone is not going in recovery as well as not in download mode'(Read the 1st post) . Now , his phone is hard bricked . The same happened with my Ace Duos GT-S6802 . I had to throw it away . If you can solve his problem , then why aren't you solving ? Why are you writing unacceptable things about me ? Stop writing this or I will report to the mods about it .

Using 3 button combo is not enough. There is a trick of releasing power key after a certain time.. Many people dont do that and hence no download mode.. And u r not OP so dont pretend that he is not doing anything wrong.. And yes it us called bootloop lol.. It is a part of soft brick.. Learn things first before posting.. And I can see u mentioned it as HARD BRICK in ur 1st post.. So admit ur fault rather arguing for it..
Thnx for the help n support guyzz...finally phone got fixed up from Samsung service center. ..They said that the problem was in the volume buttons thats why I was not able to boot into recovery or in download mode...Once again Thnxxx...XD

You saw what the OP has written ? He says that he gave his phone to a samsung service center . It means my advice was right . Oversmartness is what you are doing . And I don't pwn that device . But I own a very similar device, Galaxy Grand Duos . So , I know what's happening .

I was using cynogenmod 11 on my S2 which was working perfectly.. but i don;t what happened that day.. after full battery drain.. my phone stuck on samsung logo. i thought to reinstall rom but on every try it says can not read file.. tried installing from internal memory and external memory also.. tried different versions and other roms also.. but no result.. so i thought to boot to stock rom.. jellybean.. so i took it to odin mode and tried installing default rom.. but it always stuck on factorysys nothing happened.. but after that i phone got formated now i was not able to install any toher rom from my card or internal.. and stuck on same factorysys from odin or screen shoeing software installation interrupted install recovery from kies... kies not reading it and odin is not moving further.. So now my phone has nothing to look forward ..
I took it to samsung service center .. they told me its not possible to make it better again.. sorry.. Plz huys i need ur help.. only u people can help me to ragain my phone.. plz plz help...

I'm a bit confused. What do you mean with you cannot flash from internal/external card? Can you still boot into recovery and if yes is it one which is able to flash something?
What happens if you try to put your phone into download mode? Can Odin detect your phone?

Right now.. i can't flash in recovery mod.. i can only acces odin mode or download mode.. yes odin is detecting my phone but after setting all files when i click start it gets stuck on factorysys after that it shows fail. downloaded fresh stock files but still same thing.. now i can't access in recovery mode and also odin detects my phone but get stuck on factorysys and fails further.. What i do now??
There is a guide that has been sticky'd in the general section by @Hopper8 about troubleshooting a failed Odin flash........
Follow EVERY step of that guide.....it is the ONLY way you are going to get your phone working again........
