HellKat Q & A - Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo, Pro

HellKat Q & A

does it support video recording?
and does browser lags?

how about wifi? is it still buggy?

laggy...pls help.
i'm using carbon rom and its working great except for the browser issue.
i really wanted to use hellkat but i am having issues with it after installing(also happens with other kitkat roms except for carbon)
after installing the rom everything seems ok but then after 5 minutes the rom becomes laggy and slow.downloading apps takes a long time.
i already did full wipe, tried flashing stock .587,tried different kernels and still the same issue.
someone please help me.
i really love this rom.

Have you flashed .587 tft before flashing the kernel? This is a KK ROM and it's necessary to modify the internal memry layout.

yeah..my backup carbon rom runs well and i'm quite satisfied with it..good battery life unlike when i was using jb4.2 and ram is even better..i just wanted to test hellkat cause it has lots of tweaks in it..
also waiting for it to come out of beta stage

Finally! i got the rom working and it is very stable...i found out that the lag issue is caused by bad sectors in my micro sd card..i foubd this out when i unmounted the sd card and all of a sudden the rom is blazing fast..i mountrdthe sd card back and then after about 5 minutes the became laggy.
i backed up all my files to my computer..scanned it all for viruses..its clean..then formatted my sd card..and restore all my files on the sd card..i installed the rom with the formatted sd card and voila!no lag!
so if any of you guys having issues about lag with this rom and other kk roms you could try it..but always make a backup of your sd card first before you format it..
this rom is great and loving it

Cm9 on x10 how to?

Hello i have a xperia x10i and i would like to know how to put cm9 in there. I have a rooted phone with x10 2.3.3 doomkernel-v06-bootmanager-v2.-0 but when i go to cwm and select install this zip FXP129-cm-9-20120714-UNOFFICIAL-es209ra.zip i get a message saying error 7 (the not correct file error). And i cant install it, i have either tried with this kernel https://docs.google.com/folder/d/0B-aW2YAOAvjMaEZDSFBLdWlLTzA/edit?pli=1 and same thing.
I would like to know how to flash but... please help-me!
just update your CWM recovery and you're good to go.
from latest flashtool -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=920746
BrixSat- try to apply this kernel: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=28126178&postcount=1566 using flashtool, then apply the FXP129-CM9 rom in cmw.

Well this kernel does not boot my custom rom (ferralab) and has no cwm so im not able to proced.
I have repaired the phone via sony pc companion, then rooted, installed your kernel and finaly the cwm of the flashtools and still not able to recognize the sony ericsson x10i
Any other help?
the kernel above is for fxp-cm9 roms. if you are using feralab ics, you need to use the ferakernel_ics located here: http://www.mediafire.com/?bt92v0qpxt9varq
Solved mate. Thanks

how did you flash the kernel? its a zip file so you cant flash it through flashtool and in CWM im unable to as its getting stuck without any error messages...
I flashed fxp kernel 129 with cwm via flash tools.
And all went good after.

Is it important to be on another ics rom before flashing a cm9 rom? When i went to feralab ics it was necessary. I want to flash VR's Xperia S ics rom and im not sure if i can flash fxp 132 and then the xperia s ics rom if i am on stock GB firmware before. Thanks for help!

Don't need any pre-installation of CM9 roms.. all you need Xperia ICS rom and you are good to go...
1) flash the FXP132 kernel using flashtool..
2) Start phone and go to recovery and do factory reset. cache wipe, dalvik wipe..
3) Go to mounts and storage select mount/data, mount/system
3a) Now select format/cache and format cache similarly format/data and format/system
4) Now select and flash the VR's Xperia X ICS rom and restart
5) Go back to CWM and install Gapps and sony's add on apps if you want and restart..
6) Now log in to your google account and download what ever apps you want
6) Go back to CWM and wipe cache and dalvik cache but do not select "Factory/data reset"
You should be good to go
Im also attaching FXP132 kernel with this post so that you dont have to search for it.... Thank FXP for his amazing work....
Hi already flash this cm9 but I can't have ums.. It'st normal

[TUTORIAL] How to install Xperia Ultimate HD 3.0.2 for UNlocked bootloader

Hello people
First i wanna apologize for my bad English, but i know you will try understand me
After some hours of bootloop on my Neo MT15i i finally makes it to work This is my way to install Xperia Ultimate HD 3.0.2:
First you will need those files Flashtool 0.9.10.1... last one
Those files too from my dropbox, screenshot for flashing options, nearly stock kernel and MT11i_4.1.B.0.587_Customized_NCB_Nordic.ftf (yes i know is for MT11i, and i'm with MT15i).
1. Flash boot_ICS_plus_v5.img KERNEL
2. Flash MT11i_4.1.B.0.587_Customized_NCB_Nordic.ftf as i show it in screenshot and you will have increased /System and /Data partitions (thanks to MaxWorks with his thread
3. Boot to CWM and Wipe Data/Factory Reset
4. Mount and Storage, then Format /System
5. Advanced then Wipe Battery Stats
6. Install zip Xperia Ultimate HD 3.0.2.zip
7. Choose your options on AROMA
8. It's WORKS now
Shame on me, but is my first post and i can't post it at Xperia Ultimate HD Developer section thread
Good Luck
You could've posted in Ultimate HD q and A thread!
And this is pretty much known that
NEO users have to do this for any Rom normally so it was not quite required!
My point is :why create a thread for this?
You're trying to help I get it,but still!

Ok people i got it. If it useless let moderator delete it or stop comment it to go bottom and fade to archives. But let me tell you something: increasing /system and /data is not important for all ROMs. UHD 2 doesn't require it and when i have tried to update it with 3.0.2 my phone was bootlooped. At Dev section every 5th post was about the same, and some people aways says "Its working for me, which kernel you are using?", not so helpful right? When i tried to find firmware that i need to fix my phone, all the links was dead. Finally i have do my post, share working link and you people critic me. I'm newbie, most of people at this forum too and really want to help them.
BR
I respect your intention buddy...i think u should change the title...let this tutorial be universal...i.e...for all roms...and modify the instructions in a way to help install all roms.

I'm sorry if I post in the wrong topic, but I can't seem to install xperia ultimate hd (3.0.2 ) on my NEO and I can't post in the developer section.
I have a Xperia NEO with a LOCKED bootloader.
I have tried two times, and I get the bootloop after the SONY logo, also the leds of the buttons get switched on and I have to reflash the original firmare using flashtool.
The steps I use:
-Flash MT15i_4.1.B.0.587_Global.ftf with flashtool
-Flash MT15I_4.1.A.0.562_Kernel
-Root using DooMLoRD_v1_Xperia-2011-ICS-ROOT-emu-busybox-su
-Flash MT15i_4.1.B.0.587_kernel
-Install CWM (install-cwm1.cmd)
-Boot to CWM
-Wipe Data/Factory Reset
-Mounts and Storage --> Format /System
-Advanced > Wipe Battery Stats
-Install zip from SD card
-Follow instructions from AROMA (always careful to chose NEO as phone model and Locked Booloader)
-Tick the "reboot" option from aroma
-BOOTLOOP
Some people say that I should not tick the reboot box and reboot from cwm (but, from what I've seen, it exists Aroma installer and reboots from CWM).
Plase tell me what I do wrong, I hate to do this again and still get the booloop I mean, if it's 100% the reboot box from aroma, I will try it.. but if I do this and another bootloop then I will get very frustrated because its time consuming to reflash, reroot etc.
Thank you!

I think you mis something when flash new rom. Try to format /system under mount and storage menu before flash any rom. Wipe data is different with format /system. Try it and give a report.

flash stock baseband for neoL again..and then try to flash the kernel and rom following all my steps on thread. you should be fine..
my roms are only for xperia play or neoL..doesnt support any other xperia device..are you sure you didnt flash any other rom from other device? it seems like that or your touchscreen is broken for some reason not related to any of my roms or xperia play+neoL roms.
send me a pm if you cant solve and explain exactly what you did before losing touchscreen.
EDIT:you have unlocked bootloader right?

There is no magic in format, it's not different from writing the system.ext4 image to the partition.
With that said, it depends what recovery you are using and if it had been tested to format the right partitions, becase if for example it formats the TA partition instead of system u may be in trouble.
In any case don't install anything if you don't know what you are doing and certainly not before you have everything backed up and ready for recovery.
Do a recovery before flashing, it can be useful later.
If you brick your phone, try to flash stock or other ROM.
Of course if you want a clean install you have to format but you need the .zip to flash the ROM, don't make the same mistake as I did.

Format the sdcard with the .zip in it, cannot boot, PC doesn't recognized the phone so I used other phone to get the .zip in the SDCard to flash eXperience and reflash CM11 again.
I got panic that day, but I've learned something, backup EVERYTIME before flashing. It's like an "anti-bricker".
And yes, I can enter to CWM, no problems.
Just back-up, follow the instructions and you're be fine.

Just backup before flashing, if any error happen, use that backup and nothing happens.
