That is just not correct. It can be Ubuntu, Firefox OS, hell even iOS if you have 1000 developers with very good salary recoding every bit of source to fit it's hardware.
The question is: Are there people willing to port Firefox OS to our device...

Right now Firefox OS is only compatible with a few Android devices. So, not at the moment, sorry.

Upgrading OS in mobile is same like upgrading windows. Along with new user interface you can also get security updates and more additional features such as improved battery life, etc. Upgrading OS also lets you install new apps that aren't supported by older versions. I also found that games like Doodle Jump, Nin Jump, etc run more smoothly in gengerbread than in froyo.
I am not aware about CDMA version as I have a GSM model. But, I think it depends on OS (I'm not sure about it though).

Just spoke with the Samsung Technical staff with regards to the upgrade to my phone which is also a Samsung Galaxy POP CDMA. You will have to call them and they will give you details of the nearest service center where you will have to take your phone and get the upgrade to Gingerbread. They are currently not allowing it from their website.

Nope, as windows 8 is closed source and the RT version (the one that runs on ARM processors) is not going to be released to anyone other than OEMs

Windows 10 Mobile On Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro?

Well, I've been lost in MIUI Forum for the last days and I've been roaming through different devices. I seen in Mi4 that Windows 10 Mobile has been ported by Microsoft so I thought, why not on our beloved Redmi Note 3. I have never worked with a Windows 10 Mobile phone but the idea of perfect sync with a Windows 10 PC seems to me really tempting. So, my final question is, Could Windows 10 Mobile be ever ported to our Xiaomi Redmi Note 3?
If it could, the answer is yes. But of it will, the answer is probably no.
Just for a quick comparison. There were 2 versions of htc one m8, one with android, one with Windows. No developer ever managed to port windows to the Android based model (mostly due to no open sources). So if no one manged to port windows from the same phone, then you shouldn't expect windows 10 to get ported on our note 3.

Maybe we could ask Microsoft to help us or even develop a rom for us.

Hehe. Good luck with that. But there's a reason why windows phone is only on Microsoft (lumia) devices.

So, is there any chance for porting Win 10 mobile?
Sent from my Redmi Note 3 Pro
Well, besides the fact it will not happen. There's nothing perfect about Windows 10 mobile and certainly not sync with W10 desktop! I had a Lumia for quite some time and as of today all I can say is that they made a lot of progress since WP8, but it's far from what you would expect and most interesting functions will force you to enable Cortana.
Looks like it's old thread but i would like to reply with most of thr possibilities.
Yes it's possible to port Windows.
I can build Windows 10 Custom ROMS I've necessary OEM Tools and microsoft packages.
But the problem is needed right firmware bootloaders and drivers even os drivers too.
If we can grab any one of from existing soc then also would be good.
But unfortunately I'm using 3s prime which having SD 430 which is not existing in any oem W10M.
If i get that in future I'll definitely boot it from SD Card too as dual boot.
Just hope so.

You guys have to realize that this won't be a simple task at all. In theory it is possible, yes, but it will most likely requires weeks and maybe months of hard work to get it working and it might not even be stable. As of today, unless you have the knowledge to start developing your own port of Win 10 for this phone, you should simply forget about it.

Are you a career software engineer commanding salary higher than some doctors? If you are, you almost certainly have to use AOSP to prove that Oracle EJB runs in your phone with database server in it for photonic wave engineering. Likely you will be awarded Oracle JavaBean expert certificate in that process to show your encompassing view of phones all all electronics human has ever achieved. I know the Russian friends are.
Android 7 or 8?

The upcoming Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 Lite has leaked once again via unofficial press renders that have been shared by Evan Blass.

I love the tablet, bought two of the 4GB/64GB for $149 each directly from Samsung site.
Well worth the money, I got them for gaming and watching videos, web surfing, really great tablets.

Impreza thank you for making me rest.....I've been surfing online finding answers if that tablet can be rooted...please let me know if you guys found more info..thank you
Bought this thinking it was an upgrade from my Galaxy tab a 8.0 but since it's one ui core it's missing many features. Trying to trade it in now but it's past the 15 days. There's no smart view to mirror to any tv easily, theres no network file manager in my files (can't access G drive or any others).
Just make sure you know what you're buying. It's not lite because of being smaller than A7, it's a stripped down OS and the features can't be installed afterwards (have tried many apks). I didn't want a big tablet, wanted a mid size tablet with upgraded CPU.

I agree with that. If you are sure you know what you're buying, the experience of the A7 Lite isn't bad. One UI Core is the same stripped down OS in the regular A7 (Snapdragon 662) and in the A7 Lite. CPU works very fluid if you tweak some settings (default One UI animations are awfully slow). Battery lasts A LOT (8,5-9 hours SOT). Smart View was removed and changed in all One UI devices with the upgrade to Android 11/One UI 3.0 (regular and Core), and it was replaced with Google Cast native screen mirroring (ergo Chromecast).
Use Solid Explorer or Amaze if you want to access network file places. It works well on my side.
Despite being a Mediatek tablet, you wont't find anything MTK-related in the tablet. Samsung has its software very well masked. And I think that, in Helio P22T, Mediatek vulnerabilities have been fixed with security monthly patches.

Just wanted to chime in here and say that I successfully rooted the tablet using the same method for the Lite as the regular A7 using THIS GUIDE. Obviously it tripped Knox but I needed it rooted for my use case. One note is that when you download the stock firmware with an application like Samsung Firmware Downloader, make sure you choose the correct Model and Region. These can be found in the settings on the tablet.
Is it possible to enable Google Discover for default launcher?
I bought Galaxy Tab A7 Lite LTE SM-T225 3/32GB and it works quite nice. Small and good device. Would be cool to see on it clean Android or LineageOS (fingers crossed). There is not too many ~8 inch tablets today with the latest Android version.

I've been working on porting TWRP for AOSP Android 11 to this device but have run into some roadblocks.
I currently have TWRP running but touch is not working and I can't seem to get Data R/W with the current tools available. It's possible it's an error in my build or maybe a workflow problem.
If anyone out there with more experience is doing the same or wants to help me sort some things out, please let me know.
I purchased the SM-T225 LTE 4/64GB model, a good device, but there was a problem on the latest T225XXU1AUH5 & UI3 firmware, specifically with a modem... after the end of the call, the mobile network disappears, and after rebooting Baseband Unknown Flashing does not help, only resetting the data helps, but before the next call... The device had Root rights, but is now installed stock firmware and blocked the bootloader, but the problem remains... At the same time, if you install the old modem UDA,UE3,UF2 , it works without problems... Has anyone encountered anything like this?
My only disappointment is that knox is included. I came from tab A 8.0 2019 which has no knox
