G2 Battery replacement - G2 General

Is it easy to replace the Battery, even when its unremoveable battery?
Can technic partners of lg do it?

I think it's not 5minutes, look there http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2470662 for teardown. What I know is that one must freeze underlying glue, which grips the battery, with pressured air. Otherwise battery won't take off "the box".
What is more interesting is can I put a thermal compound a top of processor? What I learned from benchmark results is that my item gets hot way too quicker than other forum members'. Seems like heat dissipation it is not even across the line and I want to help my item keep cool

Your device isn't the only one which gets really hot after just a few hours/minutes of usage. Mine does too. But I dont think thermal paste will do any good.

Well, that's the whole purpose of building a phone with irremovable battery, m8.
Other wise, every one of us can do it.

Soldering/fixing the battery to the chassis makes the whole setup easier to build and cheaper to mass-produce.

Has anyone replaced the screen on the K900?
Mine cracked and I am wondering if it's easy enough to replace it.

Thanks, I've already ordered a digitizer and screen replacement.
I was wondering if there are better instructions on opening the phone somewhere? What I have found so far, including the video posted above is not too clear.

What I can't tell from the videos is if you pop the screen from the front and then just push the replacement into place, or do you have to open the back and then remove the motherboard, etc..
Can't believe that there is a single video showing how to change the screen on the K900.

So, nobody knows how to pop the screen out and put it back in?
Lenovo's tech support is absolutely clueless in the US, has never even heard of this phone. I haven't found any videos on the web that show how to remove the screen in any detail. Basically, there seem to be two videos floating about, one in Russian with a guy who looks like he's pulling a thread through the middle of the phone, and another video (posted above), which shows a guy opening up the back of the phone, which may or may not be needed in order to replace the screen.
But there is no information which clearly explains how to remove and replace the screen.
Anyone here seen anything?
Back of the phone don't come off. You need to get some thin tool to go between the front screen and the bezel. Be very careful but you need to go around it and gently pry it up. Yeah not something I want to do unless it's last resort or I would add wireless charging to this phone, it sure would fix all the lousy usb ports breaking.

Thanks, mikey199. You are right, the only way to pull it apart is to pry it up.
Unfortunately, this phone is really, really cheaply made. It's the worst I've ever seen. The glass is basically stuck to the frame and parts of the board and it is virtually impossible to pull apart neatly. Seriously, this is terrible workmanship!
I am trying to clean it up and see if it is usable, but while this appears to be a "value" flagship, it's more like a $100 disposable garbage.

Anyone interested in a lumia 1020 sensor teardown?

Hello guys.
I have a dead lumia 1020 sensor due some water damage. it so happens that i'm involved with electronics therefore i have some helpfull tools at disposal. if anyone is interested i'll try to open the sensor assembly and expose the guts inside. could be fun...
PS tried the same question on lumia's forum page but i figured out that it could be interesting not only for lumia owners but in general as a small inside into how phone sensors are made and what's up with those small 5-6 lenses inside these sensors.

no subscription is required, if people are interested, i'll be making some time to do it. i must first get some tools to get this done, since it's a tiny little thing and must be carefully taken apart in order to see the inside components the way they are mounted.
If anyone have any questions or wish for a specific thing to be tested/shown, please ask.
I also want to manually try to power up the OIS and various other motors inside to try to see how they work together.
Meanwhile, here's a photo with the sensor itself next to the phone and a AA battery for size reference. Quite a beasty in term of phone sensor sizes. It's a good thing since it's internals are bigger and better observable then a smaller sensor. However, the basic principles behind it are the same for all high end phone cameras.
first time i am looking a mobile sensor ......its too big . most of the sensor i viewed are small in size but it looks too big . is it includes : Accelerometer, gyro, proximity, compass, barometer sensors ...??
here's the same sensor next to a "regular" 8 mpx sensor. note that a phone like the iphone 5/5s has an even smaller sensor then this, even if it still produces 8mpx photos.
yes, it's kind of big
...and noup, all the sensors you cited in your post ar not included in that casing for what i know now. inside of it i expect to find the imaging sensor (camera..) OIS motors, lens assembly and bearings, some dc motors and a few mechanical parts.
in general, on a typical android phone, accelerometer/compass/barometer/temperature/gyroscope sensors are located directly on the main board. Proximity/ambient light sensors, on the other hand/ are always located near the screen itself.
can you open this sensor ...??
if opened please send a pic of it ..!!
and thanks for information ..!
i could try in about 2 days. The back of the sensor is embeded in a thin cement layer. I would first need to get some tools to extract the outer casing without damaging the internals.
keep trying...

Same with Anker.. both delayed
I don't buy a phone now unless it has a zerolemon or like battery. Not only do I like the extra capacity I like the added thickness they add.
ZeroLemon has really screwed up this release it's a shame.
Just an fyi if you hadn't seen already, they will be available on the 30th. I too am counting the days. After having it on my note 2, I cannot live without it.

I'd really like to hear from somebody on XDA on their impressions of the battery and case vs reading brain dead reviews from people who don't know what's going on. I've had zero lemon for all my devices and I can't see how this battery and case could be much different than lets say on my Note 2. I've read it's terrible quality and some received it dead on arrival. Lol. Either that or it arrived with no charge and they didn't let it charge up long enough.

Redmi Note 4x screen replacement

Hi, can someone help me choose an lcd display for my redmi note 4x, snapdragon. The phone is so slippery, it just fell out of my hands today and cracked :crying: . So now I am searching for a new display. I found some on gearbest, but they are really expensive, more than 80$ there are also some on ebay, for 20-25 $. Has anyone had the same problems, or knows which display to buy. Thank you

The process was very easy. Make sure you get replacement double sided tape to hold everything together. Also watch a few of the tear down videos so you know exactly what to take apart. I would also suggest getting the frame with the screen because it makes things easier.

The original lcd is better, this one have less brightness and sometimes i have to touch twice to open an app, but for the price is ok, i changed myself so i only spend 16€.
I replaced my display a few weeks ago. It is really simple. There are plenty of youtube videos that help you if you are insecure.
I bought a display from aliexpress (around 18$), it works as good as the OEM display.
The only issue I have now is that my computer doesn't recognize the phone via USB anymore.. but I'm not sure if it's because of the screen replacement.

Here We Go Again, Return Time!!

Just received 2 hours ago, the first game I tried (Hill Climb Racing 2) and noticed I couldn't press the brake, like the screen had a dead spot. Sure enough I download Muti Touch Test and the display is missing many touches, but it's inconstant. Factory reset hoping for a fix but no dice. Thanks Google for sticking us with a LG display. BTW, I haven't seen the 3 XL but I can tell you for sure it does not look as good as a Sammy panel, my wife's XS looks way better. I would say it looks more like my V35, not bad at all, just not spectacular. Pissed because I had to send back last years P2 because of issue and here I go again!
Setup a return and I have to pay a $35 restocking fee so they can fix the device. Nice

It's nonsense, he bought a G7 too. Or only? As for you definitely swap it if it bothers you. Too expensive to be obsessing over a flaw. Unless it gives it character which might increase the value!

I haven't seen the 3XL display but it's a Samsung panel and it did just get the highest ever score by Displaymate for what's that worth. I am assuming the XL looks as good as my wifes iPhone XS or my brothers Note9. I can tell you the P3 I have has a display that is not on that level, it's good don't get me wrong, just a half step off, more like my V30 that I fell the display is a solid 8+.
Update, I called Google back and got a rep that took the restocking fee off. Offered to exchange but I didn't like the options. Send mine in and then wait for a replacement to be shipped, could take 2 weeks or advance replacement, credit hold on my card and ship now. Feel it's better to wait for a possible BF deal and go with the XL>

This is actually incorrect - it's been proven that most of those 'scratches' can easily be brushed/wiped off.
I literally just watched a Tech Youtouber (Erica something or another) do this exact test, with her keys, and she gets rid of every single mark on the phone, despite scratch it with her keys.

Yeah, it looks like they phone isn't scratching, the softer objects are leaving behind residue on the phone's surface. Jerry Rig Everything briefly mentioned it in his video but never tried to clean off the marks.
