Tommorow morning I getting my new HTC One Max (have to let the HOX go).
How do I know if I need Verizon or Sprint version when I choose a new custom Rom?

i am not sure if i understand your question properly. the MODEL number of the phone example T6UL or T6VZW will help you to identify if your phone is Verizon/Sprint/international.

But when I look into the settings at Model Number than it says only HTC One Max, there is no number.
You have to boot into bootloader from powered off by holding volume down and power button. You will see a "t6..." with letters after it. That will tell you which one you have.

Typically the Phones are Branded Verizon or Sprint accordingly. I am preparing to Upload my newest version of the HTC One Max Utility I have been working on. It can pull the Stock Build Props for Identification. Keep an eye out in the in the Android Original Development section.

Mine is international and is called t6ul
If you're familiar with using adb, pull your build.prop and look for the line that says "ro.build.product=" (around the 80-90th line of the text).
ro.build.product=t6wl is verizon
ro.build.product=t6ul is international
ro.build.product=t6whl is sprint
If you're not sure how to get your build.prop, set up adb, and do the command...
adb pull system/build.prop

if it is T6UL then it is international as other have said.. we believe we already have root for all the devices.
Try to go to htcdev.com and unlock your bootloader

Yes you need to be s-off in order to install firmware that does not match your CID or MID.

You need s-off if you are going to run a different carriers ruu if you want to run a custom rom from the international forum you can be s-on or s-off

I just went through this process and S-OFF is not enough, you also need to change your MID otherwise OTAs will fail. I will write something up soon on what I did to convert my ATT to International ROM.
Just got my One today, coming from an S-Off One X. Is getting S-Off deemed important on the One?
##Update##
Realized how easy it was to obtain S-Off compared to the HTC One X (which admittedly was pretty easy already) and went ahead and did it anyways
Honestly if you need to ask this type of question do not attempt it, just because its on here doesnt mean its a necessity...htc dev unlock the phone and flash a custom rom and be happy with that for now until youve read read and read some more....

Splash screen is only for those who installed a custom one.

I have the same phone as you. It is a dev phone. I have someone that wants to buy it but wants it back to stock. And like you I can't find a method to bring mine back to stock s-on.
Any ideas anyone?

I've used this guide quite a few times when I've wrecked my phone, it's pretty straight forward. Just remember to flash the 1.15 hboot before trying to run the RUU or it won't work.

How will these methods work with monarubo s-off? My DNA is a dev phone like the op has. If this method would work I would use one of those methods. But I don't see my soft method. I used those on my other DNA, just wanted to make sure one of those methods would work without borking my phone.

Monarudo is just the device code name
You'd be ok following the face palm method for s-on I'd imagine

You sure it is a DNA and not a butterfly or other carrier variant? the DNA CID is VZW_001 and the 3 digit carrier code is 605, not 401. Below is the firmware for the Verizon DNA models.

If you have it completely stock, you can update it with HTC sync app.

Actually....that option only seems to appear for vzw users. I haven't been able to get it to show up for anyone else yet. Have you?

I honestly don't know. Most times I have suggested it, it has worked. I was able to do it in any Verizon model I tried personally even when there is no SIM or service to the device. I would think it should work for other people if it worked without VZW service for me.

Yeah vzw ones yes. I don't think it will work for the butterfly though.

It's a little strange because we do not have that device, so likely none of us will have the files you need/want or are looking for.
Yet you have asked in just about every active thread in the Dna forums.
Looking in your devices forum, is going to provide you the best results, and asking over there as well.
None of us have Butterflies or files for them.

This RUU should match it then. http://goo.gl/E5JKO3 You need a T6 UL htc europe RUU It will be Sense 5.5 so you will need to take the OTA to get back to sense 6 stock. And when you do take the OTA. Could you tell me what build number it is?

You must have s-off to put your bootloader back to LOCK. I doubt that RUU will work then if your s-on because if you are on the newer sense 6 firmware it will fail.

I think http://rumrunner.us/ may be out dated for your build but give it a try. But the only true way to s-off is to pay $25 for sunshine. http://theroot.ninja/
I have tried Romrunner, doesn't work. Sunshine needs payment through PayPal. We do not have PayPal service in our country. Is there a way to go back to the build when romrunner would've worked?? And which built was that?

Since you can unlock it is a big big maybe. You would need to find a really old stock rom and flash that in recovery. But it's pretty doubtful.
