[Q] can't install clockworkmod recovery - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S 4

I have a rooted MDK Verizon S4 with SuperSU installed. I had been trying to use Rom Manager to install clockworkmod recovery and every time, it comes back with the message that it has been successfully installed. When I try to boot into recovery, it wouldn't work. I finally installed GooManager and went ahead and installed TWRP. Now I am able to boot into TWRP with no issues, but when I try to overwrite and install clockworkmod recovery from within Rom Manager, it again comes back with the message that it has been successfully installed, but it still boots into TWRP.
I understand that I can use TWRP to switch over to a different rom, but I am just befuddled as to why I am not able to install clockworkmod. Can you guys please help me understand what I am doing wrong?

You can either ODIN the CWM edition you want (for example Philz Touch Recovery - http://goo.im/devs/philz_touch/CWM_Advanced_Edition/jfltevzw) - get the md5 file of course for ODIN. You can also try to flash the zip file of Philz Touch Recovery from your SDCard (same site - http://goo.im/devs/philz_touch/CWM_Advanced_Edition/jfltevzw) through TWRP. Reboot into recovery and see what happens.

Thanks. When I was trying to install CWM within Rom Manger, I ended up paying for the touch upgrade, hence my desire to try and install CWM form within Rom Manager... It's just a bit frustrating that I can't figure out what's going on..

[Q] Can't enter ClockworkModRecovery on my SGSII?

I've tried installing ClockworkMod via ROM Manager, and it seemed to work. But when I booted in recovery mode it was still the default android recovery. I downloaded ClockworkMod Touch and it installed fine (was able to use it after it installed), but once again when I rebooted it was android recovery.
I've searched around but can't find anything...am I supposed to set CWM as the default somehow, or...?

Rom manager does not fully support SGS2. So do not use it. You cant install a permanent recovery by flashing zip files in stock recovery. Which will only give you a temporary recovery which you will loose after rebooting. If you are on ICS 4.0.4 do not wipe anything in stock recovery. Give more info about what android version you are running on. If you are on ICS flash siyah kernel v5 using odin. Then you will get root and a safe kernel which has proper recovery

installed CWM recovery over TWRP with rom manager- how to remove CWM?

need some help please. just did something pretty dumb in a moment of not thinking. i went into rom manager and flashed cwm recovery (I'm using Hairy Bean 1.51 with TWRP) over the damn TWRP recovery, then did a system backup through rom manager. now I can boot into the rom, but no chance of recovery (as i'm guessing there is a twrp/cwm and possibly jb/ics conflict - if the rom manager flashed ics cwm recovery)
how do I get back my twrp recovery?
NB. Rom manager shows both TWRP recovery as well as CWM flashed and I can choose which i want to use... but when I pick TWRP, I still cannot access recovery. Is there an ADB command I can use to remove CWM and then reinstall TWRP? (I already tried installing the TWRP over it hoping to overwrite, but both recoveries still exist)
FIXED, NM.

HELP! booting into TWRP and not Clockwork

Hey guys .. I unlocked my Note 2 last night and it booted me right into TWRP where i was able to make a backup of my system. On reboot, I accidentally installed Clockwork ROM Manager and stupidly installed clockwork recovery on it.
NOW Everytime I boot into recovery it only boots into CLOCKWORK. I have tried using GooManager and the ROM Manager itself to reboot into TWRP but every single time it reboots into Clokwork.
Please help as I really want to flash a ROM ASAP using TWRP!
Thanks

you have to use goo to download the open recovery, which is TWRP. I'll see if i have a zip that i made that has TWRP.
I already did that. I used the GooManager to Install the script and it rebooted into Clockwork instead of TWRP
http://goo.im/devs/OpenRecovery/t0ltevzw/
Go there and download the zip version of twrp you want. Flash it in clockwork. Reboot to recovery and enjoy twrp.

Unable to flash CWM or TWRP recovery

Hello guys. First, I have to say that I'm not experienced with android phone modifications. I am trying to get NeatROM into my phone, but I can't set up custom recovery mod. I tried both CWM and TWRP.
This is my third time I am re-installing the ROM, first I have done it with ODIN second time with CWM recovery, but now I can only enter "Android system recovery <3e>" where there isn't an option "Install Rom SD card".
I don't know how CWM recovery got replaced with stock recovery mod,but I am suspicions that it happened during latest Samsung "Software update" via Kies.
I tried to flash CWM and TWRP recoveries via their apps, but when the phone booted, there was always stock recovery mod. I also tried to flash recovery mod via Android SDK, following manual on phonearena.com, but got stucked on 3rd step- when I typed in "adb reboot bootloader" my phone only restarted and it did not enter bootloader.
Please, can you help to flash the stock recovery mod, so I can install new ROM, or is there other way to get it into my phone and then flash the recovery mod?
Never mind, I was able to flash CWM recovery with Odin, following the steps on androidlegend[dot]com. Then it let me to install NeatROM.

Is it ok to flash twrp over cwm or do i need to remove cwm first

Is it ok to flash twrp over cwm or do i need to remove cwm first. Hi i have been searching for this particular topic and found no definite answer. I am currently trying to flash blisspop rom on my phone and it says to use the latest twrp recovery. The problem is I have cwm installed on my phone. So my question is ok to flash twrp over cwm or set my default recovery to twrp
@onedaynerd: simply replace CWM with TWRP 2.8.6.1 by Odin. Ashame TWRP can't read/restore CWM-backups.

As far as I know, there will/can be only one recovery. Any recovery can be overwritten by the other. Just flash the new recovery and it automatically replaces the old one.
Example, If you are currently having CWM then boot into CWM recovery and flash the TWRP recovery zip file and reboot the device. Check the recovery by booting into recovery again. Now you will find TWRP as your recovery. CWM will be gone.
