[Q] Cyanogenmod 10.2 on HOX+ International - HTC One X+

I've searched and searched for a proper guide to do this, but without look. Somehow Google are not able to distinguish between the standard X and X+. Does anyone here have a guide thats broken down in all steps? I've never rooted my Android phone before, so need all the basics.
Thanks!

Hmm the app cant recognize my phone on Win7. And I'm not allowed to write this in the forum. So I'm no step further at the moment :l

I'm having the same issue. I have tried going through Cyanogenmod's website, which said device not recognised, which confuses me!?

What problem are you having? Your post just says you're stuck..... IMO if you can't figure out how to download/install APKs (let alone applications that are provided on market) then you DON'T need a rooted phone.
Here are direct links to locations for both of those applications rather than the androlib links provided in the other thread.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=682828
http://code.google.com/p/androidterm/downloads/list
Install those and follow the directions in the thread -- funny how people complain that superoneclick doesn't work when this uses exactly the same payload.

Super one click does not work for your information.
And I understand how to have a rooted phone I was asking for help on how to root 2.1.
Shut up with your negative attitude and thank you very much for your helpful post.
And it is funny how you people think that when we ask for help on rooting that we are stupid.
And I didn't mean I was stuck on download .apk files. I was stuck on the first step with the commands and stuff...
I tried to run the adb file and it wouldn't work...

There are two guides on the topic, so you should have asked on one of them, and tried the steps suggested on the first page. People are still asking about it looping despite there being suggestions on the first page to overcome it.
Super one click works on 2.1.
Sometimes fails and does strange loops but after several tries it will work.

[Q] New to Android - Need Advice (Rooting and Firmware)

Hi, I will be getting this phone today (i9100 unlocked) and have a couple of questions on how to proceed onwards. Any help would be greatly appreciated
1. What is the best firmware and rooted kernel for me to go on?
I want the absolute simpilest way to root my phone (total beginner) and I don't know what firmware I will have when I receive it, I also don't know if I should stay on a gingerbread firmware or go to ics? I also don't care if it is official or custom as long as I'm not sacraficing stability. If possible I would like a rom that is good for battery life. I also want to root my phone in the safest way. There are so many tutorials I didn't know where to start
2. What are some of the essential rooted apps and how do you install them? Through superuser or market?
3. What are the risks involved with a standard flashing/root because I'm getting my phone second hand I don't have warranty.
Thanks for all your help!
Edit: I just say a sticky saying not to ask what roms are the best so I'm sorry if I broke a rule. I just literally have no idea where to start, I've never even used android before. I've found so many methods of rooting and roms but most seem outdated. I would just like someone to point me in the right direction of the up to date way. Sorry if I'm really not supposed to ask!

Superuser is not used to install apps, you would either download them from the market or manually install the .apks

Rooting your phone would void the warranty anyway and bricking is probably your biggest risk.

Yes. There are dozens, if all you wanted me to do was provide a link to a more comprehensive guide, why don't you just learn how to use Google for yourself?

Most of these guides will contain everything you need to know to get started.

Believe me, I tried, but there are so many options, also, I've now decided to opt for a locked virgin i9100 bcause it was 50 bucks more for a new phone with the warranty, so what's the best way to unlock one? I think I recall a free app.

try kingo root http://www.kingoapp.com/
srs root http://www.srsroot.com/
or if you have stock recovery in your
phone directly install superuser.zip or
probably flash cwm and then
superuser.zip
or try framaroot
Well framaroot doesn't work. Where would I get the superuser.zip from? I have stock recovery but dont know what I can do. I can't find anything on the polaroid s10 only same brand just dif model.
Looks like that there isn't anyway to root the polaroid s10 Maybe downgrade it or something, but I wouldn't know how to do that either. Please someone on the interweb help me with this tablet.

In this case, that is a good thing FYI. Cydia Impactor should be able to get you rooted then. Follow the directions in this post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=47966088#post47966088
It may say this is root method for a different device in that post but Impactor works on alot of phones and I am too lazy to write out directions for you lol (too much turkey last night), it is much easier to just link to that post.
If you have any problems let me know and I will do my best to help. Good luck and let me know how it goes!

ok so now my polaroid s10 is stuck at the boot logo and I can't get past it. Please help me :crying:
Don't know if you were able to fix your boot loop, try looking for a way to hard rest. As for root, the tablet comes rooted. You have to download 1mobile and install superuser and you have full root. As for getting play store and Google frame work. Go to polaroid site and there will be a download for phoenixsuit that you will have to download and install from a computer. Hope some of this helps
download the updated rom
heres the link. installs thru pheonix suite

Nope - but you can downgrade to 13.3.1.0 following the instructions here. You could have easily answered you own question reading the OP of the TWRP post. Seriously, you need to start reading up on your options. No one is going to respond if you don't do your homework.

You bricked your device before because you just clicked what you saw and did't read any how to...
So maybe you start to read this time? :fingers-crossed:
And no need to crosspost your questions in several threads...
To answer another question, for OTA:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2665683
With this tool you get root, and OTA...
But if you read the how to's to first downgrade again and get TWRP and CM11 or Nexus, you will see you don't need that step....

Alcatel Pop 4S help rooting/installing custom recovery

Hello XDA Community!
I think this is my first post so yay! That being aside, I've recently bought an Alcatel Pop 4s ( MT6755M processor, 2gb of RAM) and I can't seem to find any guides on the internet nor on xda to root or flash a custom recovery on this device, I can't find any files at all, I've read guides of how to compile TWRP to your device but they all seem to require custom roms so I can't figure it out. I've also tried rooting the device with KingoRoot and pretty much every other one click root app and none of them worked.
I really would appreciate if someone could help me find a guide or a custom recovery/root method that works!
Cheers,
Kamefrede

Hello there welcome to XDA .
Alcatel devices aren't really popular here on XDA unless someone like me or some other dev gets their hands on one. TWRP doesn't require any custom ROMs to build it (technically it does but it's not the flashing kind). If you had root then you could've provided your boot.img and recovery.img and I would've built TWRP for you.
There may be another way to backup your stock firmware in the event you brick in the future you can restore. For now, know that something is being worked on although I don't have this device.
