Hello !
Recently i flashed CM9.1 Unofficial Beta 8 rom and it was working fine ! I forgot to flash the Gapps for it so i decided to do so . When i open Rom Manager on my phone , it crashes !! I tried connecting my phone to my PC and pushing in the recovery image from r4-legend root to go to recovery mode to flash the rom ! But when i try connecting using the command "adb devices" , its not getting connected ! NO SERIAL number is displayed ! Any fix/help ??

Hi,
Did you install the drivers of your phone ? And did you enable the USB debugging on your phone ?

Yep . HTC sync installed and debugging enabled ! But can u specify the exact version of the HTC Sync that should be installed ?

Sorry, I have to ask this, but have you made sure you're using ADB correctly? (cd to the ADB.exe directory and execute commands from there )
Are you also using Windows 8.1?
Lastly, these drivers worked for me whenever I tried something on a foreign system. They ensure universal compatibility, though I've never tried it with my HTC Legend. Give it a shot: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1161769

I personally use the HTC Driver with product version 3.0.0.007 and file version 15.0.0.591
Otherwise, some questions :
1. are you in a special mode ? recovery, bootloader ?
2. when you connect your phone to the computer, can you mount the SD card ?
3. can you access the recovery mode at booting time rather than within Android ?
4. If yes, have you already tried to flash the rom CM9.1 Unofficial Beta 8 once again ?

Look the post of admin! work succesfully! My tab's rooted!
download rkbatchtool and adb in windows. Then type adb reboot bootloader.
Install drivers RK30 then your tablet is recognize by windows .
Start rkbatchtool (green icon normally).
Click on restore and Done!

Well, thanks for the reply, vinksan.
BTW, my problem is I cannot get into recovery mode.
I tried all method mentioned but still it boots into normal mode.
I believe that once I can get into recovery mode I can go on.
RKbatchTool also needs recovery mode.

No rkbatchtool need Bootloader not recovery mode.... So type this command in adb :
$adb reboot bootloader then connect your tab in usb and your tab will recognize by RKbatchtool.

Unzip the file (it 's called update.img) and copy it to the the primary partition of the tablet via the USB connection. After removing the USB cable, the tablet will ask if you want to install this new software. Say yes. The tablet will reboot into an android recovery. After restarting, your tablet will be rooted.

This is by far the easiest way to do.
My computer cannot see Archos, so I have to use FilePush to send the image file to Archos.
Then, reboot and voila!!
AW: [Solved] So far anybody can tell me how to boot 80 xs into recovery, please!

You need to install fastboot drivers. When you are in fastboot you need to go 'device manager' or something like that on PC. Find android and use update drivers bottom option (install manualy) and point where your fastboot drivers are.

This is also my problem, i try everything allready. Its just stuck on waiting for device after i try to flash recovery.
When phone is in fastboot mode it said unkonwn usb device, flash omap and fastboot and adb drivers are installed.
Is there any other method for root and recovery install?
Im not noob, i rooted and played with many Android phones, but for this i cant find any solution.
OS is Win Xp but there is same problem on Win 7 also.

install PDAnet on your device .. follow procedure of installation carefully ( should be installed on both pc and phone ) and when it was installed .when u enter your bootloader your phone will be recognize by your pc and wait for device will gone .
the method tested by me and took me one month two years ago to find .. on my g nexus first try to unlock .
PDAnet isntall drivers and everything you need to use adB commands ... if it helped give me thanks and let me know by pm .

hii sir, when i type fastboot flash recovery recovery.img cmd show waiting for device for long time plz hlp
i had many problems trying to run adb commands along with fastboot...most recent was sideloading a rom in CWM.....no device detected...then dl pdanet and that driver fixed the problem...win7 x64....seems every computer is different and process to use adb on this phone...took me a while to find this as well...

you are doing it right but i think you forgot to start channel server first
start channel server first then run researchdownload
and while connecting phone press volume down button
it will show progress and then passed in a very short time
then it will be done

volume down + power button at the same time and hold it till it shows cwm
and if this dont takes you to cwm then connect ur phone to pc via adb and give command in command prompt
adb reboot-recovery

Holding down buttons just flickred the boot screen once and the phone just rebooted normally. I did it many times according to the instructions but still the same. About the adb, my PC doesn't recognise my device. I installed drivers according to the instructions by various sources but still the same problem. I did had a spreadtrum device of micromax previously and had the same problem on it.

SORRY BUT I M REALLY TOO MUCH BUSY NOW AND TRYING TO GET TIME FOR A VIDEO TUTORIAL OR WITH IMAGES GUIDE
AND FOR ADB RECOGNITION YOU HAVE TO ADD VENDOR ID OF THIS PHONE WHICH IS 0x1782 in adb_usb.ini or you can paste the attached ADB_USB.INI file to
C:\Users\{your username}\.android\
if after that also adb is not being connected
then plug the cable to the phone and install pdanet.exe which is also attached here
make sure for adb "usb debugging" is ticked in [settings\applications\developement)
phone will be connected to adb for sure
please unzip both files before using

Put your system.img file in your adb's folder...start cmd...then connect your fon when its in bootloop...in adb u dont want to enable usb debugging...in cmd type
Adb reboot-bootloder ( your fon will start on fastboot mode... Whole black screen showing fast boot mode )
Then type
Fastboot flash /system system.img ( it flashes your system.img in your /system path to your fone )
Use your fon's stock system.img

Look if your device is in fastboot recognised , to do that install ADB & fastboot minimal installer , once you installed open adb folder , Hold shift and right click on mouse to Open Command windows here

now once you open command line , plug your device and write fastboot devices and see if is recognized like some numbers , or adb devices is is recognised in fastboot write reboot edl if the command was succsefull re-flash again your device .
