Hi, your paid Google Play Apps are saved on your Google Accout so you can reinstall them everytime you want, of course on a new Phone too if logg in with your Google Account.
If you want to download the APK files to your Computer you have to root your phone and save the apps with titanium backup as far as i know.

Hi, I've never downloaded paid apps but all the apks of apps I downloaded from the play store are in the /system/app/ directory. I'm not sure if you need root access to get there. Hope this helps.

Hello,
Yes you need to be root to able to get aPKs from phone. Android tools, with adb, will helped. Just rembemr, APK you bougth is not yours, its illegal to give them to somebody else or try to reverse engenering them.
JHelp

Not /system/app as this is read only rather /data/app for many apps
Most paid apps go to
/data/app-asec
Unless you are running some real old android versions
And just so you know there is some trickery needed to copy them from here but being its not cool to do so and if distributed its called warez, I'm not going to explain how if that's what youre after

I use root browser, I can copy my apks from /system/app

Of course you can, you're rooted. I believe the op was curious where apps go when downloaded from play store and I was just saying that none of them go to /system/anything as this is 'normally' a read only partition. They go straight to /data/app most of the time and paid mostly goes to /data/app-asec

[Q] Help with updating apks???

Forgive me if this has already been covered, but I've searched and google'd this subject with no avail. I was wondering if it was at all possible to update or link apks to the market that were either pre-installed (via custom ROMs, switching phones) or pushed apks from forums and downloads (not directly from the market). I'm not sure if there are restrictions with doing such things. I just wanted to ask so I could get more understanding since you guys have more experience than I do. Thanks.
Isnt that what attach to market in titanium bu does

I have Titanium Backup Pro and I've tried it quite a few times but they don't show up in my installed apps list nor do the offer upgrades as a result. Has that worked for you?
I have mybackup pro and the toolbox on that restored the market link on some apps I got off the web so you can try that if Titanium backup didn't work.

Titanium Backup finally kicked in with linking my apk to the market. Now it's just my 'paid' apks that won't update without asking for payment options.

Just rooted help deleting apps

I just rooted my phone and i wanted to uninstall some pre-installed apps that came with the phone from my network but i don't see them on the menu in 'Uninstaller'
Can you help me please?
Also can i delete the 'Super user' icon so my phone appears to be stock/non-rooted?
I downloaded ES file manager/astro file manager and none could remove the apps 'error removing .apk' There is only like 3-4 things i wish to remove *sigh*
Download Titanium Backup from the market, this will uninstall the .apks that you want to get rid of.

Any other app that does the same? I don't want to spend $6.50 Just to delete a couple of things, I'll only use it to delete like 5 things.. seems like a waste.
I downloaded the free one and it says it'll delete the app/reboot twice etc.. but it doesnt delete the app or reboot twice, Only restarts the phone
Don't use the 'force remove app' option then, just cliick the one you want to delete in the list and click uninstall.

Ok, but it's not that simple, you can't delete everything without consquences, search for the list of files that can be deleted without harm, from your specific ROM!

Market Showing App purchased when I have not

Hi guys,
I have been facing this problem fro the day I bought my milestone and still on my razr. I want to buy some apps from Android market which I really like but it does not let me to buy as it says "purchased" when I have not purchased these. I tried to detach those apps frm market thru titanium backup pro but still no help. Pl help guys.. Thanks.
Sent from my XT910 using xda premium
I believe the app is tied to your google account so it doesn't matter what device you try to access it from, it will always show up as purchased. You'll have to set up a different account and purchase the app through that account in order to re-purchase it or attempt to purchase the app.
If I use other acc to purchase it then my other apps that I have purchased will not b synced with that AC so will make no sense. But thanks for the help. Any other way guys or is it I m the only who is facing this problem.

Those apps registered in market as bought or installed are linked to email account and device IMEI, cleaning data and cache will not erase this registry

What happens when you click on the app? It does not give the option to download?
yesh same thing is happening to me
It happens because you had previously this app installed illegal, I did the same, I wanted to test tapatalk and I downloaded full version from the internet. Now I can't buy tapatalk because Market showing is already bought, I can't download and I can't buy it. It's really sucks cause I don't want to use it illegal.
Yup same thing.. It gives u an option to download but says download failed..

I found solution:
(You need root to do it)
1. Download Market v. 2.3.6
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1028491
2. Uninstall Market updates and clear data and cache. Rename Phonesky.apk (In my RAZR it's the name of market, could be Vending.apk in other ROM's)
3. Use Root Explorer or ES File Explorer and copy Vending2.3.6.apk to /system/app (set permission same as other apk's). Reboot RAZR.
4. Run Android Market and very quick try to buy app of your choice. I had to do it twice because I had force close after a minute, when FC happens clear Android Market data and try again. I had FC during tapatalk downloading, it's no problem I installed it after I restored latest Market.
5. When you finished, delete Vendink2.3.6.apk from /system/app rename Phonesky.ap to Phonesky.apk, reboot and thats it! Now I have tapatalk Purchased
Can't you go to market on your computer (not the phone app) and remove old devices from your list? I remember needing to do this to get, IIRC, google voice to work correctly with my new phone at the time.
I imagine I will have to do the same tonight when the Droid comes in the Fed up truck.
The only ones you should have to repurchase are the ones tied specifically to the phone's id. The others should show up under "my apps" for redownloading.
That's what got me through this situation when I had it before.

I'm having the same issue. In my case I purchased some apps from the Amazon App Store. Now I want to get rid of all the Amazon apps (their app market isn't all that great) and replace them with their Android Market versions.
So this problem can occur without anyone stealing anything, fyi.
ETA: I just checked, and games purchased through the Humble Android Bundle are similarly effected--The Android Market thinks you own them, but will not let you purchase them through the Market. Bummer!
Humble Bundle, GetJar, Amazon...
Any luck guys with fixing this?
I have the same freaking problem with getjar! Will try your market fix.

Google Play not detecing installed apps and not-updated apps

I was installing free apk's yesterday in CF-rooted Galaxy S3. Some I download directly from the Play Store in my device and some I get from the XDA forums (ike SuperSU), transfer it to the device and install the apk from there. With the first few programs, Google Play easily detects that it is INSTALLED but after I installed many programs it isn't able to detect them. Usually a status of "INSTALLED" is seen in Play Store or play.google.com (in the PC) for installed apps or games. But now there are some apps that aren't detected by it.
Also, the ones that are detected by google play but are non-updated (not latest version) have "INSTALLED" status instead of the usual "UPDATE".
What could be the issue here?

You can try using Market Doctor in Titanium Backup to see if it fixes it, otherwise they might not install with the right license for the Play Store in which case you generally have to keep getting them from where you get them, or buy from the market if you want it to update.
Market Doctor will only repair broken links, if it's not licensed to your account you can't do anything to update them with the store other than buying that way.

Ok. Well but why are the other apps detected properly even though I install them by their apk files?
BUMP!
Anyone? How can I use Market Doctor?

You can use market doctor by using Titanium and looking throug it's operations (afaik you need the paid version)
Free apps can be linked to the market, paid apps cannot.

Well, for example Mobile Odin is a paid app in the Market but I can get it free here at XDA as others have mentioned. Before, when I installed it it was linked right away to the Market as "Installed".
Oh by the way, when I search ALL my apps at Google Play Store in the S3 (not in the PC) it detects them as "installed", no problem with that BUT when I go to "My Apps", some aren't listed there and there goes my problem?
Just tried using Market Doctor of Titanium Backup and it found 26 recoverable links. I then went to Google Play Store and downloaded a free app to "refresh" the my apps list but unfortunately this whole process didn't work. So what else can I do then?
Btw, even free apps that I sideloaded aren't showing in the my apps list but are shown as installed when I search them in the store.

[Q] Mass-Installing APKs

This has probably been asked a million times, but I can't find anywhere that answers it specifically.
If I download the APK's that I installed from the Google Play store, cleaned my phone and re-install a ROM, then I install the APKs from any various method (direct/manual, Airdroid, ADB, Titanium Backup, whatever) - will those apps be recognized and updated by the play store? Or should I just manually install the apps from the play store every time?
They'll be updated, unless pirated.
