Sprint Framily Plan Pool 0/10 members - Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note 3

Anybody wanna start a pool so we can start getting some savings?
I've been with Sprint for going on 10 years. I just activated my Group ID and would like to share it so we can get our $25/lines.

You can opt for 3gb ($10) or unlimited ($20)
and with 7 people it would be $25+20=$45 base for your plan--not including taxes or extra services like insurance.

So for unlimited everything it would be 45$ plus taxes and fees?

Yup. once we reached 7 people, maximum savings would kick in.
It starts off as $55 for a single person, and each person added after that drops the bill for everyone by $5, until the maximum savings of $30 were met, bringing the total per person down to $25, which includes unlimited talk and text, with 1GB of included data. $10 would bring it up to 3GB and $20 unlimited. So, add any of those prices onto the base of $25 and you'll get your total bill before taxes.
The catch is that you get no subsidized phones and would either have to buy them at full retail, pay for a new phone with monthly installments (this option is available every 12/mo and only if you are on the $20 unlimited data add-on), or bring your own sprint device (ebay, swappa, whatever)

Ok. So how do I get out of my contract? And merge with you...

Isnt 7-10 lines $25 a line before any add-ons? Add unlimited data $20 each line seems like cut and dry $45 a month per line. There is no premium data charge on the Framly plan also.

That's the beauty of it, it requires no getting out of contract. Everyone is billed separately and it's simply a Group ID that you ask Sprint to join you up with.
Nothing changes on your account except for your inclusion to the Group ID and switch over to the "Framily Plan" title. Other than that, everything else on your account remains the same, including any discounts you may receive (if i recall correctly). I get a 25% discount on my account so maybe it will apply to all lines if other discounts won't.
You can exit the Group ID (Framily Plan) at any time, and it is a no contract service. meaning it is more along the lines of "prepaid," since no contracts are used.
If you're currently in a contract, you will continue to ride out your contract while on Framily.
If anybody would like to join, my ID is "I00243971Et" case sensitive (the first character is a capital i). Sprint should explain in detail what will happen and give you the chance to agree or disagree. From what I was told when I activated my Group ID(Framily), it seems like a great incentive to get people to join and get some extra money off your bill per month.

So what do they do use our current devices or do we have an option to purchase a new one? I'm thinkinf doing this cause I could use a second line for business and I want a Galaxy Mega or an LG Flex

So how exactly do I join
Sent from my SM-N900P using Tapatalk

Freeza if I have a family plan and all lines are eligible for Framily I wonder if I could move them all to the plan? I have 4 lines of service now. Before taxes and fees I pay $209.97 for all 4 w/unlimited data but after checking my bills I dont need unlimited for the other 3 lines. Just mine cause I use around 5 gigs a month.
**Edit** And I am assuming there is regular qualifying involved as well? Two of my lines are my kids so not sure how that would work.

Current devices. Becoming a part of Framily removes the ability to get subsidized phones. I would suggest using any available upgrades before joining Framily.

You have to call Sprint and ask to be added to a Group ID on the Framily Plan. They will tell you if you are eligible.

Sprint seems to be more willing to work with people who have multiple lines or have been with them for some time. So, I don't see why you wouldn't be able to.
With 4 people you'd be paying only slightly less than you are now at $160 for all 4 lines, then your unlimited would be $20 more, then any extra add-ons. This is all assuming you were getting your own Group ID instead of joining another. I'm not sure what the the qualifying process is. But since your lines are all tied to one account, I don't see there being any problem with any of the lines.

I'll do it tonight

So it almost seems like Sprint is trying to get completely away from low cost phones like all the other carriers have, even though Mr CEO once stated publicly that they would never do that. Eventually they will be like the others who offer "$0 down" (with an 800 credit score) phones.

Most reliable 3G and biggest 4G, best phones and good customer service. Do you think it can impact people on how they upgrade or they will switch companies because of this fee?

Who would they switch to? Doesn't AT&T and Sprint have a slightly higher upgrade fee?
Either way, I think it's crap. Like the others I'll probably tweet and email them angrily about it, but I like their service too much to jump ship. Still, with how expensive the phones are already, it's crap.

Then you can add text messages or more data.

I have two grandfathered Unlimited Data lines on my account that are on two Razr's and I pay around $219.00 USD a month But VZW IMHO is the best out there and every one of my family members from where I grew up are on it. Plus VZW has the best coverage for me where I travel/live. But sheesh it's expensive.

This fee will help us continue to provide customers with the level of service and support they have come to expect which includes Wireless Workshops, online educational tools, and consultations with experts who provide advice and guidance on devices that are more sophisticated than ever.
Oh and they offer a trade in program. Yeah they wanna give you $50 for a phone they still sell retail for $649 or contract of $299.
They dont know their head from their ass most times. I think they have so many call centers so the person that said they were going to help you cant be reached. You know how sometimes they say the call may be recorded, well I sure wish it would be too.

I'm at $40 for 450 voice, $10 for 500 text, $30 for unlimited data. I get 25% discount from combination of business discount and longtime customer, making my bill $68 after tax monthly. Got my Rezound using Amazon Wireless for $150 shortly after it came out because of a special they were running.
Best part - even though I took the 2 year discount to get that price and had to select 4gb data, I'm still showing unlimited data plan. Must've been a glitch in the renewal process but I don't complain.

Photon is a BEAST

My son and I both have photons. My son left his on top of his car the other day, and by the time he realized what he had done, it was too late. He retraced his steps and found the phone in the middle of a busy 6 lane road. The phone had been run over at least once as the glass was pretty much pulverized. However, the phone still powered on/off, there was some functionality of the pulverized touch screen, and the phone still received calls. With all the unique tech, the awesome radios, and almost indestructable build, tell me again why Motorola is abandoning this phone? It is a shame that his new Photon will come with 2.3.5.

Sprint will be happy to get you on a 2yr agreement with phone upgrade.
Sprint lost 423,000 subscribers in the July to September period, as trends across its product lineup were weak. Excluding recaptured Nextel customers, it lost contract-signing subscribers from the Sprint network for the first time in years. Customers on contract-based plans are the most lucrative.
Sprint also has another problem. They used to be the cheapest option. Verizon and AT&T now have new shared plans that make them cheaper than, or at least as cheap as Sprint for a large portion of Sprint family customers. I know I'm planning on paying the 100 bucks to get my wife and I out of our family plan and move to Verizon sometime between now and Christmas. That, along with Verizon's superior phone lineup, will entice a lot of people to switch. Keep in mind most people only use a few GB a month, so an unlimited plan doesn't matter to them. Also, most people don't care about rooting and ROM-ing their phones or bootloaders. VZ even includes hotspot, so that removes on reason for rooting.

when deciding on a cellular carrier use this simple formula:
(cost of phone) + (monthly bill)(months under contract) + one time fees = true price
you will likely find that the best deals are with prepaid plans.

Unlimited only makes up for the price if you live and work in a 4G area. I do not. There aren't many of those areas. Also, the coverage with the other companies are significantly better with 3G as well. I like to travel around the country, and I like to chase storms. That's important to me. I can deal with either the 6gb or 8gb limit, especially since there is wifi available at my home where I spend most of my time, and also at many of the public places nowadays such as restaurants and coffee shops and such. Unlimited data isn't as important unless you live in a 4g area and use that data as your home internet. Some people use a lot more than 8gb in a month without tethering, but it's rare. Besides it's not truly unlimited. If you use consistently too much Sprint will drop you. Also, I have a real hard time believing Sprint will be able to stay unlimited when their LTE network expands to enough areas.

After my contract is up I'm moving my family to prepaid. And no matter what some people think, prepaid is NOT exclusively for cheapskates or for those with less than stellar credit. It's for those that also do not want to be tied to a carrier anymore. With the multiple choices of prepaid carriers that are affiliated with the big 4 carriers it can be a better deal. My family uses very little data and some of us don't need a lot of minutes either. I've been experimenting with a few prepaid carriers lately and an pleased with the results. As of now I am trying pageplus that uses verizons spectrum on my original Droid and for my needs it's $12.00/month. Yes that's $12.00. It all depends on the needs of the individual. If the needs change, then it's easy to change plans. As for the cost of the phones, my son's and my photon will work on GSM networks,(I've already tried flashing mine to t-mobile and had good reception everywhere I went), and if anyone in my family wants a different phone then swappa is a great place to buy used phones. Not to mention the new Nexus 4 is $350.00 unlocked. If the economy continues to worsen as our dollar is devalued and we get ever closer to the fiscal cliff that we are approaching, more and more people will have to find alternatives to paying contract prices.

that is an ignorant thing to say.
Prepaid is for the smart consumer. It provides better value as well as freedom from longterm contract commitments.
Cellular service providers realize this. That is why they heavily discount phones because they know they easily profit from high monthly rates that the consumer is locked into for 2yrs.
The one great thing with the photon is that it is both GSM and CDMA. It will work on every carrier in the USA other than verizon.

1. There are different types of prepaid plans. Some are service per month while others are service per minute/mb. In either case there is no longterm contract commitment. Generally, the best value is a prepaid monthly plan.

When you add the line and you take one of their phones at the discounted price it will force you to lose the unlimited. If you pay full retail on the new phone you then can ask to keep your unlimited.

Be wary of following advice from the stores that's all I have to say about that. If you currently just have a single line plan and turn it into a family plan they will give you one of the new share everything plans. Unless you're currently on one of the older family plans and you're under 5 lines I believe you could add one and retain the unlimited data on your line. It would just add another montly access charge 9.99 + cost of data plan and other features.
The last time I talked to a CSR they told me that if I change anything that my plan changes. I asked to add tether and they told me I'd lose my unlimited. Don't know how true it is since everyone hears something different.
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using xda premium
When it comes to the VZW CSRs you'll get a different answer everytime you call in. Since there are so many centers and a majority of them are outsourced no one is held accountable for what they say.
Manager at verizon store in my town told me I can get upgrade still keep my unlimited data, they would just put upgrade on one of lines that has 2 basic phones and I be in another 2 year's with unlimited data nothing changes. I'm planning to get DNA this Friday. Just have to find employee that willing to help u out.
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using Tapatalk 2
You can change to a shared plan and keep your unlimited data but it will be expensive. If you choose the legacy Nationwide Share Talk and Text plans, you can keep unlimited data on your line ONLY, and still add as many lines as you want. Again, it will be expensive.
I used to be on the 450 minute plan with unlimited text and data...was about 95 a month after tax. I changed to the Nationwide 1400 plan (100.00), plus unlimited text (29.99), kept my unlimited data (29.99), added 2gb for my wife's line (30.00), and there is a 9.99 access charge per line. Add in insurance, my Slacker subscription, and tax, and i am paying about $185 for 2 lines.
You would definitely save money by going to a Share Everything plan.

Some deal, you get locked in for 2 years with the highest priced carrier with little to no data usage... Suckers

It's also free via Sprint, for new lines and upgrades, but you need to use the holiday tab to get it free for upgrades.

Not so bad if you do the unlimited data bait & switch. Not all of us have the convenience of reliable coverage from multiple carriers in our areas regardless of what coverage maps show.
Quit judging, I'm just passing on info man.
There's a reason Sprint is cheap, their coverage sucks.

Some of us don't care as we are already WITH these carriers. If we are going to use them anyway, why not take advantage of a free phone?? (I am with ATT not verizon but same ol' same ol')
I am sick of peoples insistance that contract free is so great. If you live outside the USA, MAYBE, inside the USA that is not even close to true unless you A.) enjoy crap service B.) barely move C.) Never use your phone.
I would take AT&T or Verizon over any prepaid crap service and featureless "plan" any day of the week, hands down. I have tried many difference prepaid services and they are all the same, terrible spotty service, slow speeds, and hack call quality. Again this does not apply outside the USA, but here, prepaid is AWFUL.
I have no interest in swapping carriers, therefor I chose to use my upgrades and get free/discounted phones since I am going to continue to use AT&T anyway. My plan price does not go down if I do not, there is no advantage to me for not upgrading other than allowing to me to switch carriers.

No not from Sprint. I tried and then call to order via phone and itis only for new customer or add a line. called locall Sprint store and same deal.
Best Buy has it free for upgrade.
That's a really good deal. And what he said I have no intentions of leaving Verizon so it I'm going to pay the same anyway might as well upgrade. I lost my unlimited and now I'm on the 6 gig plan. I average like 2 gigs a month so it was no big deal for me. My daughter average 30 gigs a month so she pretty much has to stay unlimited lol

You can be all over it from Best Buy. The have it free for upgrading as well.
I rushed to the Bestbuy store on BF for $49.99. Fought for parking space, waited in long line and now find out it's free.
I can only laugh at myself. Sad but laughable.

Some of us don't care about being locked into a contract. Where I live Verizon's coverage is so much better than everyone else's that I'll gladly pay more for it. Also, Verizon is offering former unlimited customers 6 GB of data for the 2 GB price with no additional strings attached. So the little to no data usage part doesn't apply either.
Did the exact same thing. BF $49 and cyber monday free. I took my receipt to best buy and they credited back my card. It was simple and fast.
Ordered mine for $0. Added as a new line. I already have a S3 on unlimited. Planning to break the contract immediately after activation and pay $350 ETF. Pay 1 day prorated monthly charge. Profit :good:. Sell my S3 for $180-$200 on ebay. U cant get such a good phone for $350 and still retain unlimited.
Have chat transcripts with VZW reps..who said doing such a thing will only result in a $350 ETF!!

You can get the deal if you use the loophole. I just did it twice, once for my line and just this week for my wife's line.
We both had upgrades due on our unlimited lines. We have 5 lines total on a national family plan, 2 are feature phones & 3 are smartphones. I transferred our upgrades to the feature phone lines, got the g2's at the promo price, and activated the new phones on the former feature phone lines. Immediately reactivated the feature phones on their respective lines by dialing *228 which deactivated the new phones and automatically cancelled the mandatory data plans required by the upgraded devices. Now that both new phones are free from their original lines, I popped in our SIM cards which reactivated the new phones on our unlimited lines.
So, new phones for promo pricing and unlimited data retained=win/win.

Sprint framily plan users

Hello fellow xda'ers! I hope this topic will be allowed here as I've seen it in other device forums. I'd like this thread to be a place for framily plan users to possibly recruit more members to their framily and save money. Simply share your framily id, last name and last four digits of your wireless number. I currently have two lines and would love to get more and start saving some money.

Or use reddit. There's a subreddit already in place and plans are filling up withing a few hours. I'm about to switch to sprint and I'm using reddit for the framily Id

everything I can seem to find says you only get 1gb of data with framily plans. Is this true? Can I still choose unlimited Data?
If I am only getting 1gb of data, and I don't plan on using sprint easy pay, sounds like Framily might NOT be the best option at least for my family of users. Any feedback?

I called Sprint and asked about this, it requires having a facebook account. Figures, I deleted my facebook in April. I posted on reddit as was suggested. :fingers crossed:

Can 2 Framilies combine? I have 5 in mine
Edit: Nevermind, found out they cant.. posted a reddit thread, hopefully it fills up.
Edit again: Give that reddit thread a try. I posted for people to join my framily of 5 and have 9 now in less than 4 hours
Im confused on this framily thing. Can you only add new people to Sprint on your framily or can you add various people? I would like to do this

Ok understood. What if you wanted to add someone who is already on a framily? Do you have to join theirs? Reason asking is becausei have unlimited everything on framily and dont want to have to change it to join someone elses framily. Im just trying to get the discounts lol

You could do what I did, post on the Reddit Framily plan thread with your Framily number and last 4 of your phone number and ask for people to join. I went from 5 people on mine to 10 in about 4 hours.

I don't know what you pay now but if you get on a full Framily it is $25 a line for unlimited voice and text and 1gb of data. . Add $10 for 3gb of data or $20 for unlimited. . I have unlimited so it's $45 a month before taxes or anything else I add.
Do you still have the $10 add-on fee for a "Premium" device? Taking the base bill to $45?

Nope, that charge is gone. Should have been gone a long time ago if you ask me... it was like being punished for having a nice phone.
