[Q] Question regarding downgrading to 4.1 from 4.3 - Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note II

I took the ota 4.3 update but then noticed bugs so I rooted my phone using saferoot. I want to go back to 4.1 is there any way I can do this?
What exactly do i need to do? Any help ASAP is very much appreciated.

You can't go back to 4.1 version now as the ota 4.3 has locked bootloader.... Wait for the developers to come back with the golden solution

As previously stated you cannot change your ROM because your bootloader is locked but you have root so you can get Titanium Backup and freeze unneccessary or unwanted apps. Search around for recommendations or try here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2025134

You are stuck on 4.3
Contact mobiletechvideos, they might be able to restore unlocked bootloader and 4.1

So, what happens to a rooted phone when the official update to ics comes out? Will you be able to update through Verizon, or will a dev need to work on it first? I know there are some great ics roms out there already, but what if you wanted to try the stock update? My wife also has a rezound and she won't let me "mess" with hers.
Thanks!

use ruu and go back to stock for the update
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1466474
go here and do #1~3
for #3, http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...5&postcount=58
go here and download and use this file
this one is the lastest stock ruu.
One of two options:
1. If you are already rooted, wait for a Dev to build a ROM based on the OTA so you can safely flash it.
2. You can unroot/relock your phone to accept the OTA update.
The problem with # 2 is the current methods to achieve root may not work on the updated software so it is possible to be stuck without root for awhile (unless someone finds a work-around).
The way I understand it is simple. You will be able to upgrade to a rooted is rom, however you will not be able to update the radios if you are s-on. I'm Gonna hold out. There will be an unlock tool after ics drops...whether same day or eventually.
A rooted version of the OTA rom will be released within a couple hours of the OTA.

[Q] Question about restoring with LGNPST and future ota updates

Excuse my newness but this is a bit confusing. Since I have flashed my phone back to stock from being rooted/unlocked using LGNPST, not using my original bootloader backup from freegee or anything like that...just straight from the tutorial in irc, the rom and all....will i be able to get an at&t jellybean update ota when they finally decide to release it? It seems there was an OTA update to E97011c and I am at E97010o right now and it says no update available. Does that mean I can't get ota updates now? I can't seem to find a direct answer to this.

you should be able to flash the new ROM through lgpnst and mabey the ota. I think there was a problem with the latest ota for people rooted and unrooted.... And there should be custom ROMs based off of the new release that you could flash through recovery if I'm not mistaken

Right, but does unlocking/rooting/installing canadian JB, then unrooting and relocking bar me in any way from receiving future offical ota updates from at&t? I've probably been phrasing the question wrong
You will be able to ota. The process the use to tell if you are eligible is just odd, so sometimes it can take a few days / weeks to get it.

[Q] Which is the good JB update?

Hey,
Finally Optus rolled out some kind of Jelly Bean update for the Desire X. Yay? They have released Software Update 2.23.980.3 with Android 4.1.1 and Sense 4+. Is this the good bug free Jelly Bean update or the buggy horrible Jelly Bean? If this is the horrible update, then could you possibly tell me the update id for the good update so I can chase up optus.
Also is there any way to restore to ICS with a rom (My phone is locked to Optus AU) as my CWM Backup says MD5 sum mismatch when I try to do a backup.
I have to relock my bootloader and update then unlock it again right?
Thanks,
Joe
(Sorry I asked some many questions, I'll try not to next time )

I have the 2.22.720.6 version update and as far as I have used, There isn't any bugs. Your update might be better (Or worse) cant say without testing.
To return to ICS after JB update, Follow this guide : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2213663
If you are having the stock recovery, rom and kernel and using the OTA Software update from Phone Settings then no need to unlock/relock bootloader.

Just remembered that I flashed a 4.2 Google Apps zip with no nandroid backup, can I still update by just flashing stock recovery?
I'm sorry, but I think you have to return to complete stock by using a nandroid backup by someone with the same CID like you. Or wait for S-OFF. But that can be a long time...

So if I went ahead, flashed stock recovery and updated, even with the flashed 4.2 GApps, what would happened.
P.S. If of any use, after I flashed the zip (6 Months Ago) and found I could not go back I panicked and relocked the boot loader and obviously the G Apps were still there, but the phone was still functional. When I realised what I had done was unreversable and unlocked the boot loader again.
Thanks,
Joe
I think you will get a sha1sum mismatch error while trying to update, but you can still try

Rooted HTC ONE on 4.1.2, Easiest way to 4.2.2

Please excuse my noobish question, but my HTC ONE is currently rooted on 4.1.2 and I am wondering what is the easiest method to update it to 4.2.2 without having to use OTA, which I can't anyways.
Thanks!
Flash a Rom that is 4.2.2. I think the update is barely starting to roll out internationally and might be awhile until ATT gets it.

In addition to just rooting the phone, you need to unlock the bootloader, flash a different recovery and then flash a ROM that uses 4.2.2. I prefer ARHD: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2183023
This ROM gives you 4.2.2 with full sense 5.0 experience without all the bloatware that your carrier most likely installed on your phone. :good:

Sorry I don't have a solid answer for you because as soon as I got my phone, I installed ARHD prior to installing anything on my phone. My guess is YES you will need to redo everything.
I'm currently running the GE gtc one ROM. If you want that.

If say use helium to back it up while you aren't rooted and after that titanium works better, that's what I did anyway
