Volume Rocker Screen Wake - Sony Xperia Z Ultra

Hello all Xperia Ultra lover I have tried and installed many exposed module and applications to get wake screen by volume keys without any success.
Even tried Keymapper to MOD default key configuration without any luck.:crying:.
Now just found really nice utility works with Exposed which wake the screen by volume buttons.
All credit goes to developer of this application. I am just sharing here so please thank him as well.
Using it since 4 days no any problem working like a charm.
You can download this module from here attached or you can download from download section of your xposed application.
After activating and rebooting just open application go to last menu other mod and activate volume screen wake reboot and you are done.:fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed:

Great find. But does it work with JB as in xposed repo it says some features dont work on JB.
Currently I am using Auto screen on which automatically wakes the screen when I open the flip cover. So even my vol buttons are not prone to wear and tear
Nevertheless will give this a try too.

[MOD][GSM/CDMA?] EternityProject -- Wake On Volume Keys

Welcome to The EternityProject's Wake On volume Keys Hack
Pre-requisites
Must be deodexed
Tested on Gsm XT910
What do we have here?
This is a hack or modification done to the android.policy.jar to enable wake up/screen on when pressing volume up, down or power button.
Which Roms are compatible with this hack?
Tested on deodexed Gsm XT910. Should work with all Gsm versions. Verizon Droid Razr XT912 flash this only if you're using safestrap and deodexed in order to prevent soft brick.
Installation:
1. Download the zip file
2. Put it to the external sdcard
3. Boot into bootstrap recovery
4. Navigate to the folder you've put the zip file
5. Choose the zip file and install
6. Reboot and wait for it to boot up
Download:
Wake up on volume keys
The EternityProject Developer,
<<@>> shady_lanem <<@>>
Man!!!! Thank You for this!!!! You are truly a Genius!!! Was looking for this sooooo badly
It works!!!! Yipeee!!!!!
But it takes a little longer to boot after you flash this.... so dont worry
I'm using Razrx with Safestrap. Can I just boot to recovery and flash? XT912.
Yeah you can try that. But please note that this mod has been tested only on GSM RAZR and CDMA RAZR users hasn't still got any way to go back if anything really bad happens.
Anyway, if you're willing to test, you're absolutely welcome!
I don't think RazrX rom is deodexed. Check the system files and see if there're still .odex files in there
I'll check the Razrx side shortly...I'm on the rooted stock side now.
Heyy Shady
Volume Rokr wake works only a couple of minutes after the mobile starts. it stops working after sometime.

same thing happening here.
Not to be nosey (my roommate has the RAZR, so I poke about from time to time), but with the trackpad wake on the Incredible, it would only work while the CPU was awake. I imagine this is much the same.

This mod is not working properly, anyone know why?
@shady_lanem
Can you post the changes in the android.policy.jar?
I want to make it for odexed version on a stock GSM Razr 912.
I think this has something to do with the deep sleep state of android.
I enabled volume wak evia Xposed, but again it still works only for a couple of seconds after screen off, then you have to press power key only.
Any idea to get permenant volume wake??

I didn't find any xposed module (probably dtrail neither) which could do this. Anyway, slimbean 2.2 has this feature but it works on same way as this mod, after 1-2 mins the volume buttons can't wake up device.

I could develop an option for this into my kernel - anyone else wants this feature? It's much easier than touch wake.

Pls do add volume wake, I regret not using trackball wake on my nexus one and had to stop using the phone as the power button stopped working.
Hence I have mapped my search key as power key to turn off screen and volume key to wake up would ensure, no wear and tear of power key
Also dtrail, would like an invite for aviate launcher - [email protected]

Touch wake would be the most awesome feature.... Double tap to wake is a dream I've had since the LG G2 came out.....
Why is it so hard? How would it be implemented?

Would it be better than in slimbean? I mean, could it wake up phone after cpu goes sleep? If yes, of course it would be a great option. If no, then I guess it would be unnecessary/useless.

You just ask motorola for display diver's source code Then the chance will goes up to ~60% from current 0.1% (= you should write a new & working driver from scratch).
Same thing as the hdmi. It seems to be easy but it's not.
Touch wake and slide to wake, I have used on gnex, and were pretty cool... but still utility wise volume wake makes super sense to save power button for extended use...

@bladehu2, it will be better than In slimbean and aokp, as it will be kernel level, device specific implementation.
It works flawlessly on most android phones I have used gnex, nexus one, lg optimus one, etc
Hope we get this for our razr too...

[Q] SGP 5 - ICS - Disable Button Lights

Hello,I was just wondering if anyone knew of a way to disable the light on the capacitive buttons after installing CM9 with soft button mod? Thanks and sorry if this has been covered.
There is an app called Screen Filter in the play store that enables you to turn off the key lights. It works for me and you should go check.

I think if you have the AOKP ROM then theres a option there to disable them manually
Here is my guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1374233
It should work on every rom/stock.
thanks guys, I am using screen filter now and it is working - though I dont think it worked for me on GB. Also, I will try to get LEDKill working as a permanent solution.
I dont think I am using the AOKP rom, I am just using the CMP for SGP 5.0 USA rom from the dev section. Does the AOKP rom happen to have working bluetooth? For that matter, do any of the the ICS roms have working bluetooth?
bluetooth isnt working in any ics/cm9/miui room cuz all are based on cm9 where bluetooth isnt working

volume keys screen wake up

Hi guys,
I currently have my Photon rooted and unlocked running the 2.3.5 Hybrid (Stock/CM7) rom. Was wondering if anyone has a mod that would allow me to wake the screen with the volume buttons? I was running cm7 and it was a great feature but I switched roms because the camera and camcorder were freezing on me. Just wondering if it was possible to add it. thanks in advance
I'm still using cm7.2 and never ever had cam and video freeze but to turn screen on or off try smart screen on (off) app which uses proximity sensor. I'm using the off feature and works good so far but takes a little tweak to get it to work. Also using volume button to wake up and loving it.

I'm on the same rom and I really miss that feature. I found 2-3 articles that tell you how to mod android.services.jar to make it where the volume keys will wake the screen but I couldn't get it to work on this rom. If anyone has any suggestions or ideas that would be great!
I also tried above but its not working ..

[D6502] Trouble waking via double-tap when a message is waiting

I am using the 'double-tap to wake' functionality and I like it very much. But when a message from WhatsApp is waiting for me, double-tapping the screen does not wake up the phone. I need to use the Power button.
I am using the latest firmware (17.1.2.A.0.314), rooted with locked bootloader. I am using Xposed w/GravityBox and Greenify.
Can someone confirm?
I am not using whattsap but i can say the double tap is somehow weird on this fw
So far the experience for me is always hit and miss. If the phone is deep sleep (meaning it wasn't used for a while) then most of the time I have to use power button to wake it up.
Yes exactly, and i think it was working better on the. 402 fw

Yep, same here on 402...

Introduction:
Sequence unlock is an Xposed module which allows you to unlock your phone with a sequence of volume keys (Example: U U D ).

Bypass the android screenlock

Tested devices:
Sony Xperia 4.2
Samsung Galaxy S3 4.4 (CM11)
BUGS:

Download:
Note: I had to change the package name to differentiate the module from it's PRO version. Sorry for the inconvenience.
http://repo.xposed.info/module/com.mb14.sequenceunlock.lite

You can unlock the phone even if music is playing in the background. But the keys pressed will affect the volume of your music app.
So it isn't compatible with Lollipop yet? Is it?

not working on Xperia Z stock 4.4.4
Bn 292. Only turns screen on, no unlock. Also not compatible with "physical button music control" module (sequence module only works with that module disabled)

Did you try it? He's talking about the xposed module "physical button music control". So chances are it works with music players that use these controls.

Working like a charm with MT6572 phone :good:. Every function is working great (including unlock from deep sleep)! This is some cheap non-branded china phone with Android 4.2 just for you to know.
Edit: It is also working with Galaxy Gio (s5660) on CM11 (Android 4.4.4). (Including unlock from deep sleep).

Awesome I'll test it and report any found bugs. Physical button music ctrl Module doesnt have mapping over single volume button click, yet it somehow breaks functionality as it follows - when phone is in dock - volume buttons act as Wake trigger (only when docked - native behaviour) but with that module nothing happens on vol but. press. And while Phys. but. M Ctrl was activated, Sequence Unlock wasn't functional. If you need any logs or feedback let me know.

thanks man am waiting u :good:
Update on 1.4.
With bypass option, module now unlocks the screen - Xperia Z stock rom A 4.4.4 bn 292 Odexed.
Yet it only unlocks if the screen is ON - courtesy of PBMC module. I also tried playing with the settings and mappings of PBMC but no success. The issue lies in the Capture Mode - If Screen off + Lockscreen selected, - then Sequence module will not work at all. If Screen Off only, then Sequence U. will work with screen ON + lockscreen. So issue is in PBMC and its button capture mode (even if no custom option is set for volume up/down click)
would be great if you will add features such as, long press for flashlight or camera, sequence for open specific apps...
other than that, great module, keep it coming..
working great on note 2..rom dn4 :good::good:
edit : its only working right after i lock the phone...not working after phone deep sleep..
I like the idea. Will be waiting for Lollipop support.
