Modding the navigationkey

For those who are dissapointed with the bad ergonomical design of the navigationkey of the HTC-TYTN: (the design of the T-mobile variant is much better)
With this solution the pad can be directed more accurat and you will never push the wrong button (especialy the one in the center)
Use a max. 0,3 or 0,4 mm thick aluminiumsheet (if thicker, you get bad access to the OK buttons on the left and right)
If you have not the right thicknes you can easily reduce with a big hammer (Aluminium is very soft)
The opening size in the middle is exactly 10 x 8 mm, outside 16 x 14 mm.
The plate size in the middle is 5 x 4,5 mm
Take care to scrape the corners and edges round (for good finger feeling).
Polish the surface with fine sandpaper (to get same image as the existing front cover)
Glue with a superglue (Take care not to use too much or the remaining glue will drop in the gap between the buttons!!! TIP: Use a tape to cover the surrounding borders before you start glueing)
Happy Homework!

Gap between chassis and screen

As the title says, there is a slight gap in the body casing that runs for about 2 inches along the same edge where the charging port and hdmi port is located. It's between the edge of the screen and the plastic just big enough that I can slip paper about the thickness of 2 sheets of paper.
This is my second Atrix that I bought after market new in box because my carrier doesn't have them anymore. Other than this physical defect it works fine. My main concern is dust or lint getting under the screen. I'm wondering if that is an issue? Or is there another layer inside the phone that I can't see that comes between the screen and the chassis?

[Q] X10- Phone screen/digitizer issue- Urgent

Was bored and decided to try and pry open the glass on the front of my X10 (bad idea, I know) and eventually the top half of the glass screen came off, but the bottom was still attached to a small, bronze colored metal strip. The screen then cracked (small crack) in the bottom left corner.
See first picture attachment (1060)- This is what I initially did.
At this point I decided to put the screen back on and only the bottom half or so of the touch screen was working, nothing that I did on the top part responded.
Attempting to fix this, I decided to take the entire front glass off and try to clean the digitizer as some finger oil, etc. had gotten on. In the process, I believe that I may have broken the same, metal strip (the one that is always attached to the front glass in pictures, etc.).
See second picture attachment (1061)
Is there any way to fix this somehow? I've tried aligning the bronze strip with the part on the digitzer but the touch screen doesn't work at all now.
The display itself seems to be fine and from what I know about touch screens, the metal strip is what transfers that the transparent conductor on the glass itself, so I'll only have to replace the front glass/metal strip right?
.
heh..I did same thing with my X10...I think there is no solution for this, you can only put new touch screen.

Oleophobic layer - issue ?

Could someone tell me if it is normal that I have some bright spots (about 1-2 mm thick line from left to right up to rounded corners situated above the camera). This line is most visible from angles when I touch this place by finger (the cause is probably natural grease) but when I clean it with microfiber cloth then the bright line dissapear.
Is it possible that oleophobic layer was incorrectly applicated ?
I have to say that M20P (with leather pouch) has 3 days and of course it has not any scratches absolutely.

Hi,
my mate20pro had a problem with oleofobic layer resulting in two areas (on the top and on the bottom) getting dirtier and hard to clean.
I barely hoped to get the screen replaced but instead they've given me a new phone.
Good luck with yours!

How to remove notch, curved edges.

I know it's hardware design. But I don't like rounded corners, notch in screen. I want to screen to be rectangular. (By 'turning off' 4-5 mm screen on top and bottom). How to do this.
