[Q] HOW TO unlock bootloader on android 4.4.2 CM 11 Galaxy S3 - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi. I have question about bootloader . I am not 100% sure if i have unlocked bootloader so could somebody can tell me how to do it properly , safely on Galaxy S3 with 4.4.2 android ( with Cyanogenmod 11 ) ?
I was given a answer in my first post that i have unlocked bootloader beacause i have installed the CM11 with their installer . But after trying to find a answer if i have unlocked bootloader on other sites in the mean time of waiting for answer here , i found a lot of contrary info, so i am a little scared to try with bigger mods to my phone ( kernel) . So - how to unlock bootloader on my specs ? or how to check if i have this already ? thanks

if you have a custom rom you have an unlocked bootloader:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/Bootloader

Bootloader on the S3 is not locked, there are no 'unlocked' versions as it was never locked in the first place. S3 is easy to flash and mod, but also to destroy in the process, backup your efs is the primary concern.

I have an Asus Infinity tablet. I rooted as soon as I could, but kept it locked fur a while because of warranty issues. Finally, I bit the bullet and unlocked because I wanted to play with ROM's. I haven't had any problems, and I'll unlock my p769 as soon as available to.

If it is we can figure out a way to unlock p769s boot loader without update although I'm hoping we will get an update soon.

new to xperia ray - need help with unlocking bl

hi guys
i have a new 2nd handed xperia ray (st18a - saw on the net that it's the same as st18i) that i use as a secondary phone (galaxy i9100 is my primary phone) and i need your help with unlocking its bl .. with my i9100 it was easier to root and install custom roms but i can see that it more complicated to do so with xperia ray .. i have GB 2.3.4 4.0.2.A.0.62 installed on it and when i entered to the guide [How-To] Unlock the bootloader of 2011 xperia devices i saw on the picture of the sdk program that there's no 2.3.4 option to mark so because it's a bootloader and if i'll make a mistake i can end up with pieace of plastic .. i have decided to start this thread asking for your help ..
so please guys, help me ..
p.s, if the thread on the wrong place, please do not delete it, move it to the right place ..
best regards,
moshe

Like I said in the thread, search again there should be Android 2.3.4 option. If not please upload a screenshot and let's discuss in the bootloader unlocking thread
Btw next time please post questions in Q&A forum. Thanks
OP please use the thread in place for this topic....no need to create a new thread, thanks.

[Q] Root a I9300 XXEMF1

Hi there,
I have a question that may seem silly since I am using an S2 for almost a full year, so here it goes:
I am now in the possession of a S3 GT-I9300 and I would like to root it. The firmware model can be seen in the attached print-screen.
Q1: Is there a way to root it from SD, without needing to use CF-Root and Odin (I have found this file CF-Auto-Root-m0-m0xx-gti9300.zip but i don't know if it's the right way to proceed as I have rooted directly from stock recovery on my S2)
Q2: I have been reading and there are devices with locked bootloader and others with unlocked bootloaders, and it seems that if you flash one for the other you will probably brick the device. Is there any way to tell what kind of bootloader you have?
Thank you and sorry if my questions seem trivial to you,
Doru

1. There maybe some flash zips that auto-roots your phone without using odin but CF-Auto root is one of the safest way to root.
2. The international model (GT-I9300) is always bootloader unlocked. The root will not damage any part of your bootloader but if you brick your device then i'm 100% sure that you flashed the wrong file. If you want to know what version of bootloader you have then download the app called Android System Info on Google Play.

It doesn't matter what baseband you have. It has nothing to do with the rooting process.

[Q] installing a custom rom on a new released phone

hi all

i have LG L90 D405 and i wanna have a custom rom on my phone
1) what should i do?? i mean how to unlock bootloader and root my phone and also flash a custom recovery and a custom rom??
i read some threads and i learned that i have to write some codes in a terminal ( im not sure what terminal they are speaking of ) also learned i must have cygwin and some other applications to unlock bootloader but the problem is that there is not a complete answer to do it step by step from first to the end
i appreciate if you help
thanks a lot

the big question about the root

hi everybody !
hi !
i own a LG G4 (h815)
i have a very big and important question to and all hack devellopers :
I know that it's impossible at this time to root an unlocked bootloader with MM 6.0 firmware ... everybody here says so ....
But there are one chance "one day" to have this possibility ???
what's the limit of hack for rooting on Android devellopment ? can we keep the hope or it's a fight definitively lost ?
It's strange to have root possibilities on LP 5.X with locked bootloader ...and this MM no ...
.......... for the future ,if the manufacturers, for security reasons , will make the "politic" decision to firmly prohibit to unlock theirs bootloaders...with only have MM 6.0 firmwares (and future higher ) for newest devices ????? it's the end of Android development ??? ( but just only rare unofficial methods with very very hight technical risk of hard-brick ! )
thank in advance for reading my thread here
( i have done another thread for Chainfire Mod edit: Link removed
Not sure what the point of making one thread that links to another thread exactly like it is, but this thread is closed.
