[Q] About 3G for MOTO G dual sim in INDIA - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi All,
I bought the 16gb version of moto g from flipkart. My question is regarding 3g. I am using AIRTEL and the 3g services are active. In moto G I am not getting the 3g. It always shows the E only.The AIRTEL sim is inserted in sim 1 slot.

Check your network mode..
Select to auto mode or select only WCDMA mode.. You will get 3G connection..
Check your APN settings whether it is settings for 3g..

I dont find any Auto settings? could you pls guide me?
and the APN settings are for GPRS are there.

Go in settings-> More-> Mobile networks-> Preferred network type(Network mode)

Untick the use only 2G network.. Restart your phone.. You will get the 3G network..

Solved.Fist enabled the 2g sim data, n disabled it, and later on disabled the use 2g network in the 3g sim.

hello. i have a moto g 16gb version. actually i want to use only 3g at my location. but my phone is set to preferred 3g mode which means that it uses 3g only when 3g signals are good. so there is no option of using only wcdma or 3g. also tried the phone testing app but no gain. plz solve this.

Airtel Sim is not registering on MOTO G
Hi all,
recently I bought Moto G from flipkart,my Airtel sim is not registering on moto G even I had bought new micro sim from airtel showroom, It showing airtel as service but its not registring on mobile, I had tried on both SIM slots, but no use.
Can anyone please solve this problem, I loose the communication from all.

search the networks in network settings and select your network provider
i can also possible that your area have only 2g network

thanks for the suggestion,
I had tried on both cases, the network is visible but while try to registering its thorwing error message " can't register the network" on Airtel SIM,
another slot is filled with Idea network, its showing signals but not allowing to make call, throwing error as "mobile network not avalable"
so please can any one help me out.

Idea is working , but airtel is not working, is any proper reason for the airtel only.

try it on 2g mode
i think there is no 3g network in your area so it is giving network registration failed

I'm from Pune,India & i have Samsung Galaxy ace GT-S5830 and i use Airtel sim card..Recently i activated airtel 3g in my cell by recharging with 101 RS/- but problem is Even after waiting for 4 hrs i still get Edge signal..
Now i tried the same 3g activated airtel sim in my Samsung Galaxy 3 bt here i immediately got 3g signal in same area!!I called customer care bt still i didnt got any help went to Airtel Relationship Center but still same repsonse..
Finally someone told me that there might be problem in my cell,but for that i chked Idea 3g in my cell in same area .. and i was shoked to see it worked i got 3g signal in same cell Even vadofone 3g worked.So one thing for sure problem is with Sim not with cell..
So i Wanted to know the Solution for this..or will i have to take a new Airtel sim again,which i really dont want to do bcozz i really like my current cell number

Check your Apn settings. That has been spread all over this forum with the same problem

rest all fields blank!!! and this settings almost everyone does for 3g even Customer care told me the same but still no Success...

In Samsung galaxy ace there is no Network mode option once u go in Mobile network there is an option named "Use only 2g network " which for using 3g we just have to Untick it!!
In the latest update in India which is DDKQ5, there is network mode.. pls check my screenshot

[Q] XOLO 3G not working

Hi Seniors,
I'm looking for your solutions.
I bought new XOLO Q800,
After few weeks only I found that it's not working on 3G mode.
i.e. if I select WCDMA only mode It is showing No Tower(Signal) at all.
and If I set to AUTO(WCDMA/GSM) mode it Shows signal.
In AUTO mode It connects only to EDGE not on 3G.
I tried many possibilities like flight-mode/wifi-on-off/removing -reinserting SIM .. lot..
Info may help senior to understand problem:
SIM: AIRCEL INDIA
in AUTO mode:
When I search network manually,
It shows All 2G and 3G tower in that area.
like
AIRCEL2G
AIRCEL 3G
...
..
and I'm able to Register to AIRCEL 3G in AUTO mode.
but still internet connecting to EDGE
In WCDMA only mode:
When I switch it from GSM only mode or AUTO mode to WCDMA only mode.
It Shows no Signal(Tower)
in Manual mode If i search for Network,
It Shows
AIRCEL 3G tower. but I can't Register to this AIRCEL 3G tower in WCDMA-only-Manual mode.
It says "Can't Register to the Network Right Now"
Please Help me! I will send whatever details u asks about my phone.
I sent my device to service center once for this issue. They said repair done. but I'm still facing same problem( They changed my IMEI !!! , but still same phone/screen with my screen guard)
If I contact them now, they r not responding properly.

Last Day I have fought with my Q800+SIM to found that its a 3G fault with network. not with HW device.
When i sent a msg to AIRCEL START 3G to 121. they sending me msg that 3G activated already. but they have not activated in real.
I used my 3G/4G dongle AIRTEL SIM in WCDMA only. it worked fine, later I discussed with AIrcel and confirmed that 3G not activated yet on My SIM.

I also inserted the same Aircel sim in first slot and Vodafone in the second sim slot. Even Vodafone sim is not working in second sim slot. :/

I have also same issue with my Xolo Q800.
Mobile data is not at all working in my mobile. No 2G, no 3G.
I sent an email to customer care. They said format the mobile to factory settings. I did it but still same issue.

Hi, I could resolve it by rooting (yes). I have rooted and and upgraded to 4.2.1.
Even now I am having a custom ROM. No issues for me. In face now both the SIM slots have 3G feature.

yeah its like u can only choose 3g option for 1 sim at a time
Just select 2g for other and then 3 g for the sim u want

i m using only 1 sim.... other sim lot is empty... still same issue persist...
Maybe you're in an area where there is no 3G coverage, thats why it connects to 2G only.

If u r using DUAL SIM version, then insert your 3G preferred SIM in SIM 2 slot. Then you will be able to use 3G.
Because, in MOTO E there is an option in Settings>Dual SIM settings>(Choose SIM)>Mobile Networks>Preferred Network type>3g/2g
In single SIM version u can choose either network but in DUAL SIM version even though u have the option of choosing, the setting reverts back to default if we change it,
Thus, in SIM 1 slot it remains 2g and in SIM 2 slot it remains 3g
SIM 2 Slot is the one next to MMC slot.

Just set your APN. Enable data in settings.
Once you get connected, just change the preferred network. It should stay.

Its not about the SIM-slot. 3G network is available only for the SIM you prefer to use with data. I'm running 3G on my SIM 1 without any issue.

You must have initially set your SIM2 as default for data.

i use only single sim... and whichever b the slot.. the problem still persist.. fed up of this problem.. thinking of returning the phone to flipkart...

Don't Do that, actually its the software problem here is mine workaround I use
Follow step carefully
Step 1 - Go to dialer and dial *#*#4636#*#*
Step 2 - Select Phone Information
Step 3 - Scroll down, select preferred network type to WCDMA only.
Step 4 - Enable data
Step 5 - Enjoy HSPA+
Step 6 - Press Thanks if helped
And if you don't wanna type in that code every time. here's a shortcut app for it

i used this app... for a while it remains on WCDMA ONLY but as soon as i visits any place having weaker 3g signals it revert back to gsm and then it never switch to 3g (even with this app) unless i reboot... anyway thanx for the app

@thedeadlycoder @jaspreet997 @aliennastik Which SIM are you using for data? Because it seems all those apps or Android code are meant only for Single 1st SIM. Motorola and others modifies original Android software in their devices to suit double SIM.

well I am using bsnl , just set default sim 2 if you want to use data from sim 2 and use the code above to change it to HSPA

Redmi 3s prime data connectivity problem

Hi, I have new redmi 3s prime. It is not able to connect on mobile data, if connect then speed is 1-2 kbps. I have 3g data but it connect on 2g. Checked internet setting no issue. Working fine on Wifi. Also same sim and setting working on other handset.. please help to solve this issue...

Try verifying your network's APN.
Google the latest one and make a new APN. ?

Yes, call your operator and require APN then change it in your settings. worked for me.

Yes , done that but issue is its not stable in 3g network , always switch to 2g. I have to select wcdma only using *#*#4636#*#* . But sometime it still drop all network.. And there is no network issue in my area other handsets working fine...

Yeassh..this is true i also changed the internal to force the system to use the wcdma instead..but the signal drop until there is no sim detected..
I am a new mi 3s prime user. It is not showing network. Its writing emergency calls only. What should I do??
For airtel users , I changed the sim to 4G sim (with and preferred network to “prefer LTE”) and issue is resolved.

LG V30+ H930DS India Firmware? / JIO VOLTE not working

I bought LG V30+ H930DS in Singapore. The software version was V10d-SEA-XXX. It does have VOLTE option but does not work in India with JIO. After reading the forum I flashed to India firmware found in lg firmwares website. It has 4 versions listed so I tried two of them. After flashing I got this software version "V10i-GLOBAL-COM" which I am not sure is the right firmware but I see VOLTE option as attached in the screenshot. But still JIO VOLTE does not work! Can someone please help? This is really frustrating after doing so much research. I bought this phone after researching that it supports all bands that JIO requires (band 3, 5 and 40).

Why dont you go to a reliance store and get it checked. Maybe some settings issue. If it doesnt get solved even then. Then thats your luck.

I have already tried flashing "H930DS10f_00_OPEN_ESA_DS_OP_0319.kdz" if you look at my post. But I have a good news now. I fixed it but not in a clean way though. I am able to turn ON VOLTE using the hidden menu and the steps are below. It works until i reboot the phone. Then I had to do it once again but at least it works!
Dial *#546368#*930#
Goto Field Test -> GPRI Volte/VoWifi -> IMS-> VOLTE ENABLED -> tick the box
Go to Settings -> Mobile networks -> Turn off and on VOLTE under JIO.

I got my My LG V30+ and its made in korea
I am using this in india
After searching in XDA i thought Flashing Indian firmware will give VoLTE
Downloaded Indian firmware and flashed it
Still i didn't got voLTE option
Anyway to get volte or suggest any specific firmware name so that i can download it and flash again
Not receiving incoming calls on GSM/WCDMA/LTE.

I am also facing the same issue, not just with Jio but Idea and airtel as well.
I am unable to receive any incoming calls in GSM/WCDMA/LTE mode, after 1-2 hrs of standby. Data works fine but calls donot come through. The IVR says that the phone is switched off/out of network coverage area even though i have 4 bars of signal. I have into the hidden menu trying to activate volte feature which is by itself not present in settings. Still no effect. I have also changed sims, changed operators but the issue persists. Can anyone please help!

Please provide more information. Where did you purchase your phone? What version of software is installed currently? Did u flash any firmware?
Anyway to get Airtel Volte in Korean V30+?

My understanding is Airtel VoLTE isn't available even on any India KDZ.
At least that's what I gather from complaints.

Made it to support but can only recieve calls and video calls.

Yes you can use internet while calling. But right now you can only receive calls on VoLTE. I'm checking if i can make the actual calling work for us.
I'll post a guide with all my findings soon. Stay Tuned. But there's a workaround if too. I'll cover everything in the final guide.

i flash this rom on my lg v30+ lgh930ds & but FIELD TEST -> GPRI VOLTE/VOWIFI -> IMS -> NOT SUPPORTED .. ?? do you know how to fix this??
I have similar issue: cannot use dual VOLTE on LG V30+, if someone is using lg v30+ both sims actively working cross-function like SIM1 on data and SIM2 for call and vice versa, please help.

After flashing I got this software version "V10i-GLOBAL-COM" which I am not sure is the right firmware but I see VOLTE option as attached in the screenshot. But still JIO VOLTE does not work! Can someone please help? This is really frustrating after doing so much research. I bought this phone after researching that it supports all bands that JIO requires (band 3, 5 and 40).
