anyways, i shattered the glass on my note 8 n5110. lcd is ok.
i know they sell kits, but i could only find them in white, And mine is black/brown.
1.) could you guys find me one?
2.) could you tell me how to do it?
ill answer any questions you have, sorry if i wasnt clear about something.

Just choose the white color screen and buy a white back cover together
Hello, I searched Samsung Galaxy NOTE 8 N5100 N5110 LCD Digitizer Screen on ebay. Yes, you are right, there are only white colors available. And the sellers are very less. You can buy this white color LCD with touch glass together and buy a white back cover too, then take it to your local repair shop for help. They can help you to replace the broken screen and the back cover together. At last, your Note 8 will be a total white color !:cyclops: Hope this is helpful...

Have you checked this with your local phone repair shop?
Some of them may either have stock for the black version or may be able to place an order for it.

This might sound ghetto, but I would say just get a white one, cover the screen in masking tape and use spray paint on that sucker. Ha. You can get spray paint specifically for plastic and it doesn't rub off. That's what I did with my phone's back cover. It has held up for over a year with no rubbing away.

100% original genuine HTC Touch screen and not a clone, where????

Guys I'm looking for a real original htc touch screen, till now I've found only clones. I tried them 2 times, and differently than the original one, when I dropped the phone with the clones 2 times on 2 I immediately broke the touch screen. Instead when I dropped the phone with the original one I had no problem at all.
The clones just suck...
Do you know where to find the real original touch screen?
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/GENUINE-HTC-T...UK_Mobiles_Accessories_RL&hash=item2eb0678ba3
supplied me genuine lcds & digitizers for a variaty of HTC & Nokia devices.
Big part with final result on Diamond 2 is correct bonding of digitizer, non solid setting adhesive should be used & full bonding around the edges must be achieved.
Solid setting adhesives transfer shock without any absorbtion & non bonded areas flex & resonate causing potential fracture points.
Of course ****e quality chinese copy parts play a big roll in problem repairs too ...
Actually I bought exactly the new touch screen from that seller. And that touch screen wasn't the original though.
You can see that it's not an original one looking at the zoom bar. It's shorter that the origial one. The genuine one gose from edge to edge, instead the clone one is smaller. And the overall colour is different. I can post pictures of both original one and clone one.
Anyway what do you mean by solid setting adeseive??
Just put in a PayPal claim for non delivery & get your money back. recently got LCD & digitixer for 2 Diamond repairs, both parts were original. If sent you copies do them over, get your money back & give them some nasty feed back.
No hard solid adhesives should be used, needs to be soft rubber type glue to help absorb & stop shock loads transfering to digitizer.
Ok here is a picture where you can see the difference between the original and the one bought from that seller. Is yours similar to the one marked original or to the one marked clone?
http://img98.imageshack.us/img98/2456/touchscreen.jpg
One marked original, markings are light & the - & + icons run almost in-line with edges of screen.
Also back lighting bleeds through too much on cheap copy digitizers.
They supplied you a non genuine part so screw them over big time.
I live in Asia & by my digitizers & LCDs from UK as all our local parts suppliers sell china spare parts of supposing different quality pending on how much you are willing to pay ! Quality of almost all chinese digitizers & LCDs are simply ****e & not worth the postage stamp & do nothing but pollute the environment with manufacturing waste & a product that is waste as soon as removed from packaging.
Sorry to thread hi-jack but iv'e been looking for this answer everywhere and everywhere says what type of adhesive to use but no one gives a specific make-brand or link to buy any .
I was looking at buying a full case from the same seller as my phones current case is looking a little worn out and although the digitizer is perfect and is falling out i dare say when i try to get it off it will smash into a million little pieces so i'll order the full set. But my question remains what is the best type of glue to use who makes it and where can i get it from?
Oh and would be handy to hear if you have any tips or experiences using it.
Thanks
Digitizers, don't buy here, go there!
I too ordered 2 digitizers from E-cell; both were fakes!! They won't go into any discussion with me, they just told me to send them back. They KNOW that is crap there selling and advertise it as genuine...
BE AWARE DON'T BUY THERE, IT IS A WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY.
Yesterday 2 new digitizers arrived. I ordered them on ebay at:

They work perfectly, this guy has 100% positive feedback on ebay. So if you want a good replacement, try it.
Digitizer glued to LCD?
I contacted a repair man and told me it's a waste of time buying replacement digitizer as the orginal is stuck onto the LCD and you risk damaging the LCD if you attempt to remove it.
Is this true or is he scaring me off in doing the job myself.
Also I read that you need adhesive tape is this true?
If refering to Diamond2, LCD is not bonded any any way to digitizer.
Digitizer is bonded to alloy front chassis only.
This is one of the easiest HTC models to strip & repair, LCD or digitizer can be fitted individually no question.
If you take care with disembly & be gentle with all ribbons it will be simple.
some common sense & previous experience comes in handy de-bonding & rebonding digitizer but its far from scary.
Adhesive tape is not the best option but perhaps the simplest.
I used a tiger brand u30 adhesive, black in colour & sets rubbery so act as a good shock absorber. advantage of adhesive bonding is better full radius bonding resulting in a more shock & direct impact resistant digitizer.

I have replaced mine 4 times. Used 3m black rubbery adhesive tape.
If you where my neighbour i would have changed it for faster than you could drink a cup of coffee
It's a bit tricky to find god digitizers on Ebay.
This is one of the best I bought. The backside should look like the one in this auction.
There's allot of rubbish digitizers on ebay.

Where do you buy this tiger brand u30 black adhesive? I googled it and found no results.
Also if I ever needed to replace the digitizer again will it be easy to remove if it had u30 adhesive on it?.

@Lasker1
I bought this Touch Screen Digitizer For HTC Touch Diamond 2 II T5353 and waiting for it to arrive. It was the only one I could find within my own local ebay listing that looks to have the right full length zoom guide at the bottom. Come over for a cuppa.

Fortune IT hardware shop BKK. No done a second replacement yet but tested adhesive prior to using it for assembly & it should be quite easy to clean to about 90%.
Tape is the simplest but varies in adhesive strength & can result in digitizer being not flush fitting & not evenly bonded resulting in easy failure with impact loads.
Also most people who use tape end up doing second replacement.

[Q] Dropped White S2, chipped silver edge, replacement?

Hi Guys,
Dropped my White S2 (on my drunken stroll home - dropped it whilst removing it from its protective pouch!!!) just before Christmas and taken 3 or 4 chips out of the silver edge, it has been an eyesore for me ever since, my once beautiful phone is now ugly! Most people say it is hardly noticeable but I know its there!
I've repaired phone screens before, desoldered chips, fixed DVD drive lasers etc so I am fairly competent with electronics and circuitry.
After looking at several guides (all of Black S2s), from what I can tell from pictures, the silver part is part of the main housing? Bit of a bummer but can someone confirm this who has taken one apart?
Is it fixed/glued to the screen part?
On eBay you can buy the complete housing for around $10usd including the battery door. I believe the silver bezel is part of / attached to the front housing.
The item shown is black but I'm sure they would have white as well.

you cannot replace the silver bezel without removing the screen which will get damaged if you tried.
If you want to change the bezel then u would have to replace the screen too
A nice idea,if you wouldn't mind your phone being a couple millimeters wider and a few grams heavier is to get a bumper.Especially some metallic(mostly aluminum) ones are quite cool.I now use Case-mate POP case, but have set my eyes on getting the Taurus aluminum bumper,as I too have a slight hit on the silver bezel.
Although I have to admit, with the Taurus in particular, the phone looks like Robocop to be honest. There are others too though and there is also a thread in the Accessories section.
Ahh that sucks! I've seen official replacement screens for around £60, may have to do it that way!

There's a seller on ebay selling just the glass for the white model for $26.68. If your digitizer and screen are ok, this is by far your best bet. Even if your phone isn't white and you want to stick with blue, you'd be better off switching the rear cover to white and selling it as a white model. And buy another blue one.
Full screen assembly is $230, which is close to what Samsung charges to replace it.
How high was the drop? Did you have a case on it? Just curious questions...since this phone seems to be fragile due to the large screen.
When I called samsung they said they didn't have a price for the repairs, how did you find out how much they charge?
And also the fall was kinda far onto cement. I was getting out of the car to put gas in and the phone was in my lap and it fell.
Also i had a case on it. The ROCK cases btw i love the look of the case but the screen cracked directly where the case didn't cover the phone which was the top
Someone in the US with an international phone cracked theirs and sent it in.

[Q] Replacing digitizer with US variant

I plan on buying a new digitizer to replace the one on my phone since I manged to scratch it just before my screen protector arrived (there was a backlog of undelivered parcels at my post office, my screen protector should have been there BEFORE my phone -.-)
I'm pretty comfortable with the process of replacing the digitizer, but I've got a quick question (maybe not so quick to be honest.)
We should have all seen (and most likely drooled over) the new colours being released, I was wondering if a digitizer from the US Sprint or Verizon variants of the s3 would fit my uk/international s3? I'd love to get my hands on the silver digitizer and back plate, but I don't want to fork out £200 to find out it doesn't fit!
Is there anyone who could shed some light on this? would carrier specific radios be located on the back of the digitizer or something?
Cheers!
If you buy a new digitiser ..... Don't throw the old one ...I will buy it from you..

[Q] Are the front and back panels the same across all versions?

A bit of googling hasn't revealed an answer for me, so I'm hoping someone here can help. I would like to replace the front panel assembly and the battery cover of my s3. I'd like to know if these panels are basically the same across all versions of the s3, because the color I want doesn't exist in the version I have. Thanks for any help!
And I would prefer to change the panels out, not just get a case or gelaskin type of deal.
Did anyone tried detaching lcd from body? Wanna try bezel replacement

I didn't try that. I don't have a heat gun or really want to mess with pulling the lcd and such off, a whole front panel would be more expensive, but easier.
I was also thinking of changing the "casing" of my S3. A few of my colleagues have replaced their cracked screen glass successfully and have the needed tools (heat gun, IR sensor etc) and experience to now do it in their sleep. All from buying parts from eBay. A screen should cost now more than R250 include no shipping. I will check on the bezel and back cover and post back here.
