1) Kitkat bootloader is NOT OFFICIALLY SUPPORTED
this yNote ROM/kernel is built for old bootloaders including 4.1.2 and 4.2.2
although you may install yNote with kitkat bootloader installed, some functions/apps may not run properly and/or will lead to FCs. i cannot guarantee it is fully compatible with 4.4.x bootloaders and thus any problems resulted may never get fixed. however, no issue has been reported so far
2) i DO NOT OWN a N5100 actually
i made this yNote based on my N5110, and was aimed for the N5110 only. the N5100 version was created by requests and is a derived product. i am unable to perform any tests for the N5100 version myself so bugs are expected

try this first:
settings->general->application manager->swipe left until you see the "ALL" tab->scroll down to find "touchwiz easy home" and tap on it->under launch by default press the clear defaults button (if enabled), and press the home button again which should ask you to choose the default home
or
simply goto task manager -> clear defaults-> clear touchwiz easy home
or
go to google play to download a home chooser app

thx for reporting
i never use the accuweather so i didnt know it is not working. let me check later
for gapps crashes, i suspect it is due to the google apps i included in the system/app dir which some of them should be placed under data/app but i wanted to save some spaces so i put there. version incompatibility may be another reason however. anyway these r minor issues, although quite frustrating sometimes, i probably wont spend too much time on this but add something new (there's a long list including both rom and kernel features) since i think the gapps problems should be solved easily by reinstalling the apps

oh, forgot to answer about the keyboard problem... the problem is due to imcompatible dpi used. the layout for this samsung keyboard is not supposed for 220dpi we are using. the solution, in case you want to stick with the samsung keyboard, is to find one which really support multi dpi, or to wait for me to change it

As always a data wipe/factory reset is suggested BUT "should not" be necessary coming from the ROM/Mod from this thread.
*Coming from any other ROM you must wipe data/factory reset. This includes the Gingerbread versions of The Unofficial versions 1.1 & 1.5*
I stress the two words "should not" and didn't say will not be necessary.
You do not need to flash any of the fixes previously posted as they are all cooked into this BETA ROM. Yes this is still Beta and it is Beta Quality.
This is just a start.

Known Issues:
-Instagram still takes a big ol' poopy when trying to use!
-Some complaints of Exchange being a little flakey. Some third party apps have been reported to work good *Fixed*
-Contacts linked to Tango have been known to cause Contacts.apk to force close
-Occasional slow downs or unstableness
-Draw something works fine but will force close on exit sometimes
-Some have reported issues with Facebook but I have had no issues
-Conservative governor for sleep profile has been known to cause freezes. Should be fine for wake profile.
-Caller ID doesn't work on Rogers network and some other networks other than AT&T. This is not specific to this ROM so please don't report it
-Setting DPI to anything other than stock 320 will cause app compatibility errors in the Play Store. Set dpi back to stock 320, clear Play Store cache, clear google framework services cache then rebooting should fix this.
This is not specific to this ROM so please do not report this as a bug
-Setting DPI to anything lower than 220 will cause SystemUI to force close constantly and generally be an unpleasant experience.
Not to worry! Menu> System settings> The Unofficial> Tools>DPI Tab(Looks like a little monitor) and change to 220 DPI or Higher then reboot.
-Widgets may tell you they don't fit.
*Solution* Menu> Apex settings> Homescreen settings> change Portrait grid to 5x6 or more and Landscape grid to 5x4 or more. Your widgets will fit now.
-Occasionally server overload or other various reasons may make The Tools Update feature fail.
Follow these instructions:
1. Open Terminal app
2. su (Grant root access)
3. upfjtools
4. Let it finish
5. Enjoy!
-Does not current install properly with TWRP Recovery.

Instructions:
1 - Download the ROM
2 - Put the zip file in your internal/ext Sd card
3 - Reboot in recovery (CWM,TWRP)
4 - Flash the ROM
5 - Follow the instructions on the AROMA installer
6 - Wait for the process to finish and reboot
Downloads:
V7 NIGHTLY BUILDS: You will have to build them yourself. Just go to this link https://bitbucket.org/dariolob/dmodv7/downloads and press "Download Repository", that should download a zip file of the ROM. It isn't ready for flashing though! You will have to extract it and re-zip it to make it work with custom recoveries Don't worry, you'll have to follow this process only for nightlies, every beta will be released through a ready-to-flash zip as every other ROM!

Um, that's because it's based on stock...
Adding things from AOKP. AOSP requires editing tons of smali and xml files in the framework.

I advise to flash it It's Google Play Store but with inverted colors (black background instead of white) and a nice blueish UI. It matches perfectly our AMOLED screen!

How to Add More Apps in Ultra Power Saving Mode (UPSM)
UPSM is good way to save some battery when needed, but only a very limited apps we can use under UPSM. With root access, we can add more apps support in UPSM.
Well, the whole idea of UPSM is to save battery, why on earth we want to add more apps to drain the battery? Because we can
For the start, our mod will add a few applications so you can test it out before customizing your own application list.
Apps added in our mod:
1) Camera
2) Gallery
3) Torch (included AOSP torch.apk for this feature)
4) Chrome
5) Hangout
Instruction to add more apps to UPSM
1) Download the UPSM_Add_More_Apps.zip from : http://electron-team.com/ADDONS/other/
2) Put zip file in sd card.
3) Boot in recovery and clear cache partition
4) Flash the zip file and reboot your phone
5) Boot into UPSM to test the added applications
How to add your own apps?
6) Go to system/csc and open up allowed_apps_upsm.xml with text editor
7) Add your desired applications. You need to know the application Package Name and the Main Class Name. Check the app's Android.Manifest.xml to find out.
8) Then go to phone data/data/com.sec.android.emergencylauncher/databases/ and delete EmergencyLauncherUPSM.db
9) Reboot your phone.
10) Done.
Note: Music app doesn't work in UPSM because some background services has been turn off.

Try it and let me know.. I don't tether. I know a few people are working on a bypass for 4.3.. But the OTA for Verizon was just released not even a full 48 hrs ago.. give them some time..

Tips & Notes :
- NEVER USE ANY OBJECT(S) FROM MY ROM IN YOUR OWN ROM PUBLICLY WITHOUT MY PERMITION ..ELSE I WONT HESITATE TO REPORT YOU
it took me hours of real hard solid work to provide a great rom for us
- Please don't use NeatROM Mods on this rom ,, althought they are compatible 100% but mostly you will lose some elements of the rom
so be aware of that and make a backup of mods u will flash
- AGAIN AND AGAIN the video player is working 100% correctly ..the FC comes from using Dorimanx\Siyah Kernels as they have
more than 8 cpu levels
- galaxy s4 font isnt applied at the first boot ,please select it from Settings>Display>Font>SamsungSans
- "IMO" dont change the RIL because u MAY suffer a battery drain ..replace the modem as u like no problem with that
-Some of Neatrom feutures are not working... this is due to my mods ..and currently u cant have my mods with these missing mod whatsoever

oh thanks mate ... @krazy1101 uploads the rom for me on dev-host and this time he also will upload on google drive so now i dont need your help but keep in touch maybe for the next versions i could use your help as he may become busy .. for the record the rom is uploaded but im waiting for the download link .. will be up in a few hours

After some issues from installing (came from KitKat) everything runs quiet well. Lockscreen Stock and Note sometimes have a litttle fight, so I kickt out Note3 lockscreen (I like more the ripple).

Yes for sure the lockscreen app conflicts as usual its not my fault ... please guys set tw laucher at first when it asks ...and to use the lockscreen app u must disable the stock one from settings and use the external app .. cheers and thanks for using it ...also the ui will be updated more and more in the next update

Im right when I said statusbar color and clock options/color are usless, because off the new transeunt statusbar (very nice).
The thing is i thought of using the stock secsettings but i will lose some feutures like disabling edge zoom toggle and crt toggles and more toggles so i will leave it as it is ...maybe sale will do his magic to link it with the gradient statusbar again and by that surely i will provide an update package

its a stock sammy 4.1.2 sure u can .. the android 4.3 thing is fake though ... next upgrade package will have some textures from
4.2.2 galaxy s2 plus dump along with some improvments in some apps thanks toKik0o and his touchwizz UX 2014 Theme for XHDPI

@rrgrrg Is better if you only allow the transparent statusbar on launcher and lockscreen like in the Android 4.4.
For example, in apps with light background, you can't see anything in the statusbar.
Do this for the next build.

I think that you should do it.... Lot of things are different between the two Roms!

hi jaf ,non stop playing for 4 hrs very stable but just noti e could not download anything from samsung app like shealth and edge panel, infact cant download from that store it started and stop at about 20%. Thanks

Hi Dennis,
I don't have this issue.. I just made alll update and install SHealth (even if I don't like this app).
I post screenshots. Perhaps are you facing a problem with local Samsung Server?

well it seems like its flaky then, it works for some people and it doesn't
added to my previous post.. i did a second wipe to factory settings and clean flashed the ROM, same exact issue still

I did change the message on the edge,its ok
Actually I am outside. I will check but I think that I don't have this issue.
I use 2 versions of express me... perhaps the problem is here.

I found another bug once I factory reset the firmware. Wechat and Viber Sms activation code is not working, I don't get any mag from we chat Viber either
I think the battery level is better than stock firmware of January build. Capacity increased from 2100 to 3000.
I'm finding out another bug to report
My we chat ,viber and whats app is working here.viber got activated by sms .

Yes,kery you are right the batt is fantastic no greenify installed yet ,but still 79% after 9hr, 5hrs stanby and 4hrs normal usage

I have also this FC, I've just reproduced it.
Dennis, go to setting of Egdge Panel, choose the second line "Express me" then press the pencil at the bottom. Here you have a new screen with your lockscreen... and 4 options for personalizing it : Images, Handwriting, Text and Effect. If you press Handwriting you 'd obtain a FC (Force Close).
I will take a look this evening.
