[XPOSED][GS5.13.28] Xposed GEL Settings [3.0.1] - Xposed Framework Modules

Alrighty! I don't understand why Google wants me to have this omnipresent search bar on every home screen if there obviously is Google Now / Google Search embedded into the launcher if you go to the left page. So after some searching I found a way to hide it. But it will show again if you go to the left screen; no functionality is lost. Of course digging through the code I found some more things which are customizable

How to request a feature
theknut said:
Since the feature requests are poping up like crazy and users are not making an effort to explain the features and say thank you after I implemented it, I decided to only accept feature requests if you follow the instructions below. But that doesn't imply that I will implement it. I want to see some effort because I will most certainly have it and remember it's all done in my free time. It's not that I do this for living
So if you post a feature request please include
say "Thanks" and be grateful for what you already got
think about your feature and whether it is useful for others, too
properly explain what you really want
I never used Nova and such so I don't understand the request if you just name the setting you want.
I think this is only fair since I spent hours making this module and users don't even take a minute to properly explain what they want and even worse are not grateful for what they already got. For free.
Thanks to all who donated already.

Requirements
Xposed Framework
Google Now Launcher
new diaper
Instructions
download the module and install it
activate it in Xposed Installer → Modules
reboot your device
open Xposed GEL Settings
make all the changes you want
hit the restart button within the app to restart your launcher
Celebrate!
Known issues
In some cases the Google Doodle will not be loaded
How to resolve: pull down in GNow
State: This seems to be a problem of the launcher. This error also occurs if the module isn't activated at all.
If the grid size or hotseat count is changed icons/widgets may disappear (especially if you decrease sizes)
Severity: Keep it in mind
Resized icons or grid settings might lead to different sizes
State: working on it for the next update
Some settings will lead to icons being cut on the left and the right side even though enough space is available
State: working on it for the next update
If you've made changes to the launcher using apps like AppSettings (which is awesome by the way), you might encounter problems
Please report bugs if you find them! A good bug report includes repro steps and logcat and Xposed log file. You can paste them to www.pastebin.com. Screenshots and screen recordings are very important, too. If you provide all of this when reporting a bug it will make it a lot easier for me to help you.
If you report any bug mentioned above and/or ask questions which could have been answered if you've read the OP, please allow me to ignore your post as you did mine.

Installing now! I was waiting for this app. A nice feature could be the possibility of rename app in GEL

Superb start been waiting for a dedicated gel module.
How far can this be taken? Is functionality from custom launchers like Holo launcher possible? Such as gestures, animations, changing icons etc.
I do hope things like this aren't beyond the realms of possibility.
Looking forward to future developments.

not to be a grammar nazi, but what you mean here is the dock, right?

Would there be a way to disable wallpaper scrolling?

Looking forward to seeing this progress! I like GNL, but there are a few things keeping me on Nova launcher - swiping up on homescreen icons, category tabs in the app drawer (or at least folders), and the ability to remove labels and apply icon packs. Everything else I could take or leave.
Regardless of whether these features make it to your app, thanks for the effort and keep up the good work.

Is possible add support hotwork for all languages?

I stand corrected. Just didn't realise it was working. My volume was down low.

The search bar overlies over the other icons?! :-/
Edit: after enabling gnow it works, but i don't want gnow

Awesomeness!!!
Do you think it is possible to add just one more feature - swipe down to pull notification bar??
That would probably be all that one would need from GEL
Thanks for your work!

Any way to get this working on a Droid Maxx running Kitkat without GEL?
I like using the droid command center widget but when I loaded GEL it wouldn't let me add it to the homescreen. I got a message saying the widget doesn't work with 3rd party launchers.

FYI, the columns and rows feature is reversed...adding columns actually adds rows, and vise versa. Other than that, great module!

[APP] Desktop Visualizer - Custom Icons!

*I ran across this app and thought I would share it since it doesn't seem very well known on the forums..
*I have no affiliation with the application or developers and take ZERO credit or responsibility for anything to do with it at all.
Since there aren't many themes out right now and a lot of themes have undesired features to some users, I personally prefer to choose application icons individually.
This is where Desktop Visualizer comes in. The app allows you to set a custom icon, or picture, for an app or activity to your homescreen (it does not change the icon in the launcher) and also the ability to change the app label and style.
You can create a variety of different sized widgets or create a shortcut from Desktop Visualizer within the launcher.
By setting the app as a widget it will remove the 'box' that Espresso puts around apps, but setting the shortcut from Desktop Visualizer in the launcher will keep the app icon within that box.
The app provides a very simple way to help you further customize your homescreen to your likings.
Here is a screenshot to show how the different ways Desktop Visualizer makes the shortcuts:
The DropBox icon is the '1x1 small widget', the Facebook is the '1x1 small ss', and the BestBuy is set from the Desktop Visualizer app (not as a widget, so it still has the box). I put DoodleJump there to give a comparison to a stock icon. Icons are from the HD Icon Pack (link below)

I'd liketo understand how to create an icon pack:
every time I flash a new rom, I've to reconfigure every widget. I make large use of Desktop Visualizer for this... and it's a pain to setup it back again...
also helps you get that WP7 look and feel
desktop visualizer suddenly does not work anymore...
suddenly I cannot set own widgets anymore- just tiny little shortcuts.
When trying to set a widget and have chosen the applications and the imagefile it just says something like " could set shotcurt or widget." and nothing happens.. I tried it with different images and widgets sizes nothing went anymore. I used it until now without any problems- does somebody experienced the same?
Solved: don't know why- but just happens when I use ES Datei Explorer!!!
Thanks for sharing. I will try it. ;D

I know this is an issue with many apps but is there a way to get all widget options to show up. I'm trying to add a normally available widget using DV just to remove the label. The problem is when I go to add>Other, the widget isn't in the list.

Depends on the task manager.
Well mostly in the android play store, task managers are generally ram killers and this home replacement launcher stays in ram all the time to be active in function, so therefore yea the task killers(managers) will detect it.

[MOD][GUIDE] Make The Hottest Android HomeScreens Yourself

Got this post today on Google+. so i thought it'd be great to share with you guys this article gonna blow up your android

With its subdued simplicity, Naturally Android won over plenty of fans -- and won its designer a nice new Nexus 7 tablet. So how's it made?
Creator Joe Rochinski said his main goal was to create something that was both simple and visually striking.
"I've never liked the look of home screens packed full of widgets and mismatched icons," Rochinski says. "There's an app drawer to house all your app shortcuts, so let's leave them in there!"
Rochinski found his background on DeviantArt.com. He then used an app called Wallpaper Wizardii to scale and position it just the way he wanted.
Nova Launcher Prime, a popular custom Android launcher, allowed Rochinski to eliminate extra home screen panels and also remove the separator line between the Favorites Tray and the rest of the screen. Nova also made it easy for him to swap out the icons to his own custom creations.
Speaking of those icons, Rochinski relied on an app called Simple Text to build them along with his custom app drawer button. He used Minimalistic Text, meanwhile, to make the clock and weather widgets.
"You don't need to be an expert programmer to get a similar look on your own phone," Rochinski says. "I hope this theme will inspire others to try their hand at their own home screen and make some more beautiful designs where less is more."

How to make The Explorer home screen
Greg Wright's Explorer home screen got lots of attention, and for good reason. Wright's creation is actually even cooler than you might realize, as many of the visual elements are interactive: Tapping the compass opens Google Now; tapping the caliper toggles the notification bar; tapping the lion at the bottom of the map opens a folder of frequent apps; and tapping the date at the top opens the system clock. The paper scroll at the bottom-left, meanwhile, shows a dynamic representation of the phone's current battery level.
Like the last setup, Wright's home screen uses Nova Launcher Prime to accomplish some of its magic. The wallpaper comes from Wallbase.cc; the widgets for the date, time, and battery level were all made using the Ultimate Custom Widget (UCCW) application along with a font called FoglihtenNo06 (Google it and you'll find several sites offering free downloads.
As for the interactive functions, Wright used Nova Launcher to create shortcuts on the spots he wanted and then set their icons to be blank images. That makes it seem like you're tapping the actual map instead of a regular app shortcut.

How to make the Organizus Optimus home screen
Like Amirul Farhan's eye-catching creation? You aren't alone.
Farhan built the setup using Apex Launcher, an alternative to Nova with many similar features (either app could really work for any of these configurations). Within the launcher's settings, he set the home screen grid to 9x5 and four panels.
He then created a custom set of wallpapers, one for each panel. He uses an app called MultiPicture Live Wallpaper in order to have each panel display a different background.
That's where things get a little more complicated. I'll let Farhan explain it:
Start on the first homescreen. Using Apex action, place an app drawer shortcut on the square icon (at picture's bottom right corner).
Next, using Apex action as well, place the shortcut to screen 2, screen 3, and screen 4 on the star icon, ribbon icon, and the conversation bubble icon, respectively. Repeat this step on screen 2, screen 3, and screen 4.
This is the tricky part: hiding the icon we placed earlier to make it blend with the wallpaper. You need a blank icon, easily downloadable from the Internet. Note that although you cannot see this icon in gallery, it's there. Long-press the shortcuts placed earlier, and replace the icons with the blank icon.
Got all that? Good. From there, Farhan used a series of widgets and icons to accomplish his effects. They include:
• Minimalistic Text Widget with a font called Billabong for the titles at the top of each panel.
• Eye in Sky Weather for the forecast on the "Weather and Status" screen and Widgetsoid for the power bar at the bottom of that panel.
• Icons from Minimal MIUI Go Apex Theme for the shortcuts to the apps on the "Leisure" screen and Minimal Reader for the headlines at the bottom of that panel.
• Brilliant Quotes for the rotating quotes at the bottom of the "Work and Productivity" panel.
• Android Pro Widgets for the social widgets on the "Social Circle" panel.

How to make the Robot Control home screen
Tim Alvarez's Robot Control configuration was the most popular of all the designs featured in this month's challenge. To make it, Alvarez says he started with a background from DeviantArt.com, which he resized and cropped down in Photoshop to fit his device's screen. He also modified the image to add in some elements and erased parts of it to make room for active widgets.
The Calendar, Media, Apps, and Files icons are all built into the wallpaper; Alvarez used transparent icons to add invisible shortcuts on top of those areas.
He used Ultimate Custom Widget (UCCW) to create the clock/date widget, the battery percentage and ring widget, and the bottom widget with the weather, missed calls, missed texts, and current location.
For the music player, Alvarez used a version of Phantom Music Control with his own custom icon modifications. He also made his own custom icons for the dock at the bottom of the screen.
Oh yeah -- and there are some custom animations and sound effects involved, too. You can see 'em in action on Alvarez's YouTube channel.
Lucky for you, Mr. A is willing to share his efforts. You can download a zip file with all the aforementioned elements on Dropbox.

How to make the Serenity Now home screen
Ben LeFevre says his Serenity Now setup is "deceptively simple."
The clock uses the ever-popular Ultimate Custom Widget (UCCW) app along with a custom skin. The clock has some powerful hidden functionality, too. As LeFevre explains:
It consists of two widgets -- the center one and the left one. An invisible shortcut is placed over the arrows on each widget that swaps to the other home screen. Using Apex Launcher's Accordion transition effect and turning wallpaper scrolling off, this makes the drawer look like it's expanding/closing.
The Search and Play Store icons on the left UCCW widget are UCCW hotspots (shortcuts built into UCCW). The down arrow that brings up further apps is just an image, with a Circle Launcher widget over the top.
You can find the wallpaper here and the icons here and here.

dude you have to be CREATIVE stick on minimalistic and go for every option. it tooks 4 hour to make a homescreen like this.
here is a little suggestion to make widget's like this.
1. choose custom layout always in predefined layout
2. in custom layout make the layout pattern to match the widget then choose style for each of them (normal/accented/non-accented)
3. now in text style window; select size, color, font of each style
4. time to preview the widget
some screenshot to help you

wishlist

why don't we put our wishlist here? I'll start with mine.
selectable weather source
re-arrangable app drawer grid. (currently fixed at 4x6, i want 5x6 or 5x7 for big screen full HD phones)
my wish list
selectable news app,landscape mode.
Missed It integration
Lockscreen
The status bar setting is getting disabled everytime when I change the theme. Please fix that too.
Suggestive Wishes
Editable App Preferences
Settings > Themer > App Preferences allows us to reset previously preferred app. Yet, it does not allow us to pick the app for specific themer action. For instance, I would like THEMER to open (play_google_com/store/apps/details?id=com.callapp.contacts) "Caller ID Dialer by CallApp" when I tap "phone" icons or "missed calls" labels. Everytime I pick a theme, I have to manually edit the widget's hotspot. If the theme has an icon shortcut placed instead of a widget hotspot, I cannot edit it. Of course I can change the icon with the that of the my desired app's Yet this action kills the unified aesthetic of the theme.
Folders in App Drawer
No matter what, this is a must when it comes to customization. That's one of the reasons why Nova and Apex are so popular among people who like to customize their gadgets.
Having access to theme specific icons and images within themer
I know that even if these are free themes, their designers should have their copyrights protected. I do not want to extract those images. Yet, if I was able to use them within the THEMER app, I could create new folders when I accidentally erased one. Since there is no option to roll back any removal action, I have to reapply the theme. And everytime I reapply a theme, any changes I have made to the folder content is gone. That has made me a little annoyed as it happened over a few hours I've been playing around with the app.
Hope to hear developers voice soon.
Cheers...
I'll Add ICS support to the wishlist
Tablet Support
I wish Themer for Tablet support.
I mean I want to use with Tablet UI.
This may be awesome I think.

We're currently using Open Map for weather, which isn't reliable. We will soon switch to something better, but won't let the user pick for now. Most users just want weather to work. And we'll make that happen.
We are also going to be doing more with the app drawer in the future .

YES! These are both an issue for me...
The weather is wrong by up to 8 degrees F sometimes.
But my biggest gripe is using the App Drawer the way it is so slow moving and not efficient at all. Please allow Vertical Scroll Alphabetical as one screen(NOVA) and allow Folders in the Favorites Section! That would still allow the Homescreens to stay clean and then access stuff quickly from a Favorites Icon on Homescreen!
I abandoned it
What's with the mandatory FaceSpace or Google+ login for the app to run?
Awesome homescreens, horrible app drawer. Please add a "Vertical Continuous" option as well as grid resizing, basically mirror the app drawer options of the most common launchers (Apex/Nova/etc).

More rearrange ability because you can't edit the size of widget or add more icons to a page.

I like the idea of this, it's just. I was able to customize the theme I'm using, took some figuring out. But was able to add short cuts. It's a bit bothersome and not as simple as I would have hoped, I just can't imagine people even more novice than I am getting too into customizing the themes. Having the option to go back to the stock app drawer (tw) would be nice as I have all my apps organized. There's a lot of potential here just needs some careful thought. Either way kudos and thanks!
Here's what I added for shortcuts in case anyone wants to see.

Pop-up folder
I'd like it if the favorites came up as a pop-up folder. I really only have a few and while I could make a folder, many themes already have a link to the favorites.
Thanks. I'm thoroughly enjoying themer and have been showing my friends.

it would be great if lock screen can be made same as home screen making it more prominent for a user.

[MOD] [XPOSED] Keep Trash [v2.0.1]

Keep Trash
An open source Xposed module to customize the visibility of menu options from 3-dot overflow menu to the action bar in official Google Keep app.
My personal blog post for the module - Read Me
Featured on XDA portal.
Thanks to @eagleeyetom for featuring the module.
I use Google Keep a lot to jot down thoughts that come to my mind, thoughts that may come in handy in future. This leads to many many notes scattered all over the app.
To delete a note, I had to -
Long tap the note
Tap on the 3-dot overflow menu
Tap on 'Delete
It was a little bit annoying to have an extra tap to open the 3-dot overflow menu just so that I could reach the 'Delete' button. So I moved the button to the action bar.
Now, to delete a note -
Long tap the note
Tap on 'Delete'
In v1.1, I implemented a customizable icon listing in the action bar of the official Google Keep app. The users can select which icons they want to show in their Google Keep app action bar. Users can choose any combination, such as select only one among the menu icons listed below, choose any two, choose all three or choose none. Users can choose among the following icons -
Archive
Delete
Share
In v1.2, I implemented a customizable icon listing in the action bar when the note was being edited in the official Google Keep app. Just like v1.1, users can select any combination among the menu items listed below -
Archive
Show/Hide Checkboxes
After 2 years, with v2.0 comes a completely re-written implementation of the Xposed module. The code is more flexible and robust. Keep Trash now uses the new material design and new material drawables that are consistent with the official Google Keep app. Now, visibility of 6 menu items can be customized - Delete, Archive, Share, Reminder, Label and Color Picker. For more details, check the changelog below.
You can select the icons you want to show in your Google Keep app action bar and customize your Google Keep experience.

v1.0
Initial Release
Yay I was waiting for google for sooo long to make this an option like on Gmail. Thank you very much. Also could you male the swipe action also delete the note instead of archiving? I presume it's not hard, only changing a method call
could you move the share button to the action bar too?

Google Keep is closed source. The code is obfuscated, so pin pointing the method is hard. But I'll still look into it.

This is feasible. It will make the action bar cluttered if I move "all" the menu options to the action bar. I'll keep this option customizable in the GUI, giving user the ability to choose which menu icons they want in their action bar, and which ones should be moved to the 3-dot overflow menu.
Thank you for the suggestion.
****ing awesome! This has been my long standing gripe with Keep. Thanks dev! :good: Now, if someone would find a way to remove the limits on the amount of text one is allowed to write in a single note, Keep would be perfect for me!
Oh yeah! At last! Thank you!
These are the kinds of modules which make Xposed really handy. Thanks a lot for this
So I wasn't the only one who was frustrated by Google's decision to keep 'Delete' button 2 taps away from the user. Good to know!
Maybe masterminds at Google just don't want the users to delete their data from their servers (if they even do that) , but instead just want you to archive it (for them). After all, the one who controls "user's data", controls the present and the future! Hehe.
Anyways, I am glad this module is useful for others too.
@xenon92 I am so happy to see your app being highlighted on xda portal.. Your development for galaxy grand is unforgettable.. And yet another brilliant app which is simply mind blowing.. Keep up the good work..

Actually yes. I am thinking about moving 'Show Checkboxes' in the note editor from overflow menu to action bar. I use it there a lot.
I would prefer the Share button there. It seems more natural for me to write something and then send it to Google Drive by clicking on the icon in the action bar than having to go to the Browser screen and then save it.
Great module by the way, thanks.

Yes they seem a little bigger for an MDPI device. I own a HDPI device, and they seem fine on my device at least (as you can see from the screenshots). I'll reduce the size for MDPI in future release.
